I'm hearing rumours that if Rangers don't win convincingly on Saturday, he is likely to be removed from his post on Sunday with a replacement named on Monday at the latest. This would seem to mean that there is a replacement lined up to step in. I don't have any names mentioned at the moment, but this has come from a radio news room in Central Scotland.

They won't sack him unless there's points dropped. With the WC 3 weeks away it'll likely be around then if at all.

Sorry but only if we look like not finishing 2nd, will Gio go this season. It would make no financial sense. Sacking Gio solves one problem. There are other burning issues within out squad that Davidson or McInness ? will not solve.

Looks like the board would be delighted to finished second. We have been gearing up to finishing second since the final whistle in Seville.

Soooo whoever it is that is ‘lined up to step in’ is happy that they will only be getting the job if we have a poor result on Saturday? Therefore if we do win and win well this person will be happy to not be appointed manager and just shuffle back off into the distance? I doubt that. Either the club have made up their mind and he is definitely going and a new manager (be it caretaker or permanent) will be appointed sooner or later, or at this point they genuinely are still backing him. I can’t see the appointment of an ‘already decided on replacement’ hinging on the result / performance in one game.

I'd imagine Rangers can't afford to sack Gio.

Who would be happy enough to take the job on the basis of…. “right, if he loses or doesn’t win convincingly you start Monday, but if he wins convincingly your not getting the job”.

Gio will be the rangers manager for the rest of this season imo and i'm very confident of this ?.

Time will tell but gio will see the season out IMHO ?.

Sacking him now would cost what £5 mill so if they bring in a new manager he takes over the same team with a small budget, sacking the manager will change very little our problem is recruitment we have went backwards, I see a lot on here having a go at Tav but we’ve no ready replacement we sold Paterson brought in the Polish guy he’s been shipped back out so only Devine there is he ready? and the players we brought in most have not improved the team, we’ve been unlucky with injuries as well so think we’ll just have to hope we can get to the break unscathed and hopefully we can use the break to get players back and work on the confidence of players.

I don’t think any manager would be coming in while there is a potential takeover pending.

If they have a replacement lined up then they have already decided he is going sooner or later.

monty, dozens, if not hundreds would, and do, every day

football is a cutthroat business,

many managers have sat at home watching another manager being interviewed

knowing full well they will be taking his job next day, or next defeat

nothing unusual.

We can’t afford to sack him. He would need to walk and can’t see him doing that. As much as I don’t want him here I don’t think we have a choice. If we can’t go out and add quality additions to the team then we don’t have 5 or 6 million to get rid of him and his team. ?‍♂️.

Agreed Tom, Wilson possibly has interviewed someone already, I'd imagine the board know fans won't accept these results for much longer.

Why do people make completely stupid statements on here? Nobody can guarantee if GVB will be here at the end of the season. We lose our next 3 games you seriously believe he will remain. He gets another offer he will go immediately like Gerard. He knows his time is up. Found out. Making mistakes similar to at previous club. Doesn’t learn….

SWS - you have stated that Gio "will" be manager till the end of the season, then say that the radio station doesn't know what's going on, "knows as much as you and me"

Make up your mind if you know what's going on or not given your two posts contradict each other.

I will be surprised if GVB is sacked given what the cost would be. Any new manager with any credibility will demand a transfer kitty and be allowed at the very least to bring in a top quality keeper to replace McGregor and McLaughlin in January and will also want two or three other quality players as well as new blood in the summer.
It isn't all down to the manager. While the Parks Family are in charge we will continue to go backwards.
