I posted a few weeks back to say Kenny McLean is done. Now Scotland are out at the euros, things will ramp up.

I can understand that signing. as he’s a bit old and he knows the league… PC will be looking to and some experience to the team as can’t have a team full or 20/ 21 year olds.

Could be utter b*ll*cks tbh but i’d like to see McLean come in I think his experience would be very beneficial to this young squad and he played 52 games in a very tough league last year so he’s obviously robust. Their POTY too. Would do a job for a few years yet.

McLean is a good player. don't get the snobbery towards him by some. he's a physical midfielder that would suit the Scottish league down to a tee.

Will be another Doran’s or dowell he’s too slow and sideways passer he’s a mid table chap player like wor or reading he’s not a ranger class player it’s a terrible move would rather offer miller from Motherwell the wage as it would be over 20k anyway entice the big. He’s Scotlands future his matador tirn against Celtic and then cross was unbelievable at 17

He’s going to be one of the best in Europe and I see him as a future 10.

Fifty6 - he’s not a free as he’s under contract and there lies the issue. If he was a free I’d have no issue but what are we going to have to spend to get a 33 year old? Not for me.

Agree re Miller StevieG but we also need experience-old/ heid as younger boys will need direction should the team start poorly and young lads get slaughtered then that's not really ideal - good balance of both required
Also would like both Tavs and Goldson gone but could see Tavs away and Goldson staying to give somewhat seniority as things change - just a gut feeling ?.

Was told yesterday that he wants 35k a week. He should be told to do one and he isn't even an upgrade on lundstram imo.

Rangers needs Scottish players for Europe. It’s that simple. As far as I can tell a new CM is needed too and a left sided one like McLean would be a good option to have. Diomande, Raskin, and Barron are all good prospects, none are the finished article. McLean’s experience could be an asset in there. He just won POTY for his team as well.

We should have picked him up years ago when he was leaving Aberdeen in all honesty.

Agreed BigDado - would not want to spend that amount of cash on him if that is indeed weekly amount quoted however some experience needs to come in door too.

Grf rangers Do Not need Scottish players for Europe. They need players who come through a Scottish academy ie yefeko mcausland

We r actually in best position re academy players at our club who are eligible for A list .

Ie yefeko Mccrorie kwright McKinnon mcausland Fraser

Addin, Souttar, wright Barron, possibly Kelly we have 8.

European squads need to have 8 players from Scotland as far as I’m aware, John. The only players Rangers have who are Scottish now is Souttar, Barron, and McCausland. I assume McCrorie is off.

So I think that puts Rangers in a position of needing more Scots. Unless we are actually going in to Europe with the intention of using players like Fraser, King, and Devine.

Personally, I would rather our young layers were out on loan getting game time, than rotting in our bench not playing for the sake of European squads.
