John, morning mate, do u have any info on the outcome of the meeting between Hagi and club?

StevieG2

1.) 18 Aug 2024 10:30:01
There is no indication of 1 happened.

2.) 18 Aug 2024 10:39:43
I would imagine we'll find out in the coming weeks, if he's in matchday squad then we've negotiated the wage issue in his contract, if not then what Clement said a few weeks ago still stands.

3.) 18 Aug 2024 10:47:14
Play the guy and pay the guy we need every player at the moment.

4.) 18 Aug 2024 10:56:40
Stevie nothing, apart from a meeting did take place.

5.) 18 Aug 2024 12:06:20
Thanks John. I know we disagree on Hagi the player, but keep us posted if u hear anything re the meeting and what’s happening with him .

If we don’t move him in before the window closes we absolutely MUST utilise him in the squad. No point paying and not playing him:

6.) 18 Aug 2024 13:23:29
Agree Stevie ?.

7.) 18 Aug 2024 13:34:21
Heard something the other day that the problem with Hagi's game time,
was the extras bonus payments added to his contract at the time of signing under Gerrard, certain bonuses were agreed based on games played etc, is it true?

think about it though, played almost every game for gerrard, played several games for GIO up until his injury, Beale extended his contract by a year, said once he had recovered was an important part of the team, just like Sakala etc, then suddenly he was sent away on loan, played over 20 games in the spanish premier league at a crappy team, now he is back fit and still not being played, sounds like the club are refusing to pay his contract bonuses, as they know if he plays one more game they have to pay him out his bonus.

could this be an ongoing issue with seeral of the players that downed tools then left on free's because club are not honouring the bonus payments agreed in their original contract?

Shoot me down all you want, just passing on what i was told.

We are in dire need of a creative 10, we have 2 and are playing neither, really putting them in the shop window for potential buyers this window, by letting them rot in he B team.

Get this mess sorted and explain to them both play your arses off and compete against each other for that 10 spot, and a team will come in and you will get your move, but you need to earn it, that will not happen playing in a b team that even play regular games against opponents.

8.) 18 Aug 2024 15:48:49
Laudrup yes been welll documented if hagi plays 1 more gane his wages go up 8k a week. Was sitting at work dicussing with a former scotland international during kiev game and he said this is a very common thing in a contract.

9.) 18 Aug 2024 15:58:07
Hagi won't play again fact.

10.) 18 Aug 2024 17:01:44
Paul is that why we have not played him since that last game he played for us and scored before being shipped off to spain, just because the club are not willing to honour the contract we agreed with Hagi.
Surely we could have handled 8k a week extra if it helped us win the league, that is a big if though.

sound like we are freezing a player out deliberately and not honouring the contract obligations we agreed to, so we force the player out of our squad, and then talk about buying another 10 lmfao.

Backwards way to take a club forward.

11.) 18 Aug 2024 19:21:12
If hagi is still here after the window its in his own best intrests to accept to scrap the clause in his contract and be available for first team football or stay in the b team with the same wage.

12.) 18 Aug 2024 20:08:58
I think it's clear the manager like several previous managers and the vast majority of managers in Europe don't want the player . Getting a small fee may be possible but that is the best and only outcome for the club, though far from certain.

13.) 18 Aug 2024 21:56:04
If Hagi was that good we would have paid the 8K and have him in the team. obviously someone doesn't think he is worth it.

14.) 18 Aug 2024 22:23:32
Laudrup …. it’s well documented what the situation is with Hagi and gone are the days when the club has the upper hand.

15.) 18 Aug 2024 23:56:25
Must be true that he won't play again then strummer said fact after it. That'll be that then lads.

16.) 19 Aug 2024 12:06:52
would Hagi even make a difference?

seems a lot of hassle and chat but i don't think he would even improve us.

08 Aug 2024 13:07:02
I’m reading that we got £1.5m for Goldson.
Anyone have any info I. That?
If true it’s a good deal by the club.
Also did we pay off any of his wages?

StevieG2

1.) 08 Aug 2024 13:31:33
Why does everyone keep saying about paying off players wages that get sold for a transfer fee.

If a player gets sold his contract with us gets ripped up as he would have accepted terms with another club.

we would only pay a players contract off if we release the player.

{Ed001's Note - sometimes you have to agree to continue paying a player some of his salary to get him to sign elsewhere, due to the hugely reduced salary the other team are offering. Robbie Fowler was still getting paid by Leeds United for years after he left.}

2.) 08 Aug 2024 13:47:46
No matter what it was was still a deal worth more than money.

3.) 08 Aug 2024 13:55:35
Stevie I heard 1.5m too mate.

4.) 08 Aug 2024 14:03:03
That seems to have been the rumour. More or less swapped him for Propper on significantly lower wages. Not much certainty if that was the case though, and I doubt we'll ever know for sure as the accounts go in to specifics on each transfer deal.

5.) 08 Aug 2024 15:03:35
1.5 million small addons small sell on
We paid no additional wages to him.

6.) 08 Aug 2024 15:10:47
Cheers lads, and pcloyal just same as been said mate he was in 38k a week or therabouts and doubt he’ll come close in Cyprus so wonder if we paid him a large lump sum to leave and free up our wages.

7.) 08 Aug 2024 15:38:29
Going in to the game vs dynamo I’d have took a draw all day long before balls was kicked, keeps tie alive, and restored some belief. We are def short of some quality to challenge for title. But how smug they are across the city is infuriating me. I really hope big Phil can wipe the smirk off all their faces!

8.) 08 Aug 2024 15:40:42
Stevie, Goldson getting 25k week in Cyprus,

9.) 08 Aug 2024 16:08:07
Probably paid up his signing on fee if it was built into the contract.

10.) 08 Aug 2024 16:13:07
That’s a great deal from the club about time we started getting fees.

11.) 08 Aug 2024 16:24:56
Cheers John for both answers mate.
He’s knocked it off hasn’t he? 25k a week for moving to Cyprus at his age and being on the decline
Not too shabby atall.

12.) 08 Aug 2024 16:25:11
The main thing is that he's gone.

13.) 08 Aug 2024 17:14:17
Stevie, also 5% income tax in Cyprus, better than over 40% here

Dado no his full signing on fee only payable if he stayed four years.

14.) 08 Aug 2024 17:57:25
Great insight John. CG will be a few k a week up in Cyprus. 50% tax v 5% in Cyprus. No brainer, Les pressure, European football, will win medals and lives in the sunshine.

26 Jul 2024 13:53:48
Nobody seems to have commented of Cifuentes joking Aris Thessaloniki, obligation to buy for £4.1m (€4.5m).

Great business.

StevieG2

1.) 26 Jul 2024 14:13:17
I did but it wasn't posted for some reason.

2.) 26 Jul 2024 14:13:38
Stevie if it is obligation that be be great news mate, over three times more than payed.

3.) 26 Jul 2024 14:30:12
We are never getting this, pure pie in the sky. Surely, this has to be a wind up?

4.) 26 Jul 2024 14:39:36
I read option to buy, not obligation?

5.) 26 Jul 2024 14:42:53
If we get that doe for him it would be a good bit of business by the club.

6.) 26 Jul 2024 14:53:42
Yeah Beale that’s what was reported mate.
Obligation after seasons loan.
Quote a lot of mo et so very well done to the club.

7.) 26 Jul 2024 14:53:59
That pays for Cortez next summer.

8.) 26 Jul 2024 15:06:41
It is option at end of deal not obligation?.

23 Jul 2024 15:28:03
Goldson on club flight to Birmingham 8 mins ago.

StevieG2

1.) 23 Jul 2024 15:33:46
Seen that too. Disappointed he still with us. We won't win anything with Tav and Goldson at Ibrox.

2.) 23 Jul 2024 16:00:08
Tav and Goldson have been great servants to our club. If they both go in this window I wish them nothing but the best. Once a bear always a bear ?.

3.) 23 Jul 2024 16:01:06
Ah well, that'll be that then. I was actually thinking with the talk of Tav, Goldson, Hamilton etc that we finally might be off loading players. Tav and Goldson's wages are crippling along with Matondo. If we go into next season with a back line of Tav, Goldson, Davies/ Souter, Yilmaz/ Jefte then sadly it'll be same outcome.

4.) 23 Jul 2024 16:08:50
For Christ sake, just thought things were looking up, woke up to another Shankland rumour and now this, I’m heading back to bed, see you guys in September.

5.) 23 Jul 2024 16:10:55
Maybe he’s chosen to sign for Birmingham and the club are just giving him a lift ?.

6.) 23 Jul 2024 16:13:51
Gers78 here's bloody hoping.

7.) 23 Jul 2024 16:26:09
Maybe giving him a last game for a send of maybe.

8.) 23 Jul 2024 17:01:41
Def Birmingham England?

9.) 23 Jul 2024 17:25:17
Gers78 ???

I posted a pic but it’s not went up yet

We really need someone to ask somebody at the club direct what is happening with specific players ie Goldson tav cantwell

Believe Hagi will be off, believe they’ll all be off along with Lawrence and lammers and dessers
Think tav may just well stay.

Think dowell will be staying along with Matondo maybe wright aswell clement seems to like wright.

10.) 23 Jul 2024 18:02:26
Stevie the club won’t tell you anything until a deal has been done.

11.) 23 Jul 2024 18:39:11
Doesn't look like his potential move is happening to Cyprus.

12.) 23 Jul 2024 18:43:45
I know what u mean storm, I was more meaning a Goldson away for medical, it’s a straight question.
Not just admitting who he wants rid of but more direct factual wuestion when they need asked. Should be a fans press member in those conferences.

13.) 23 Jul 2024 18:43:56
I also think the manager likes Wright, the boy is a trier just not a great finisher but doesn't dither as badly as Dessers and he's quicker, most of us are quicker than Dessers.

14.) 23 Jul 2024 19:22:59
Kirkie as bad as dessers can he gets numbers wright doesn’t.

15.) 23 Jul 2024 19:38:32
Wright is a truly awful player with no end product either by scoring or assisting . The fact that he is a trier doesn`t come into it, you could pick anybody out the crowd who be a trier for the club. People keep saying we won`t win anything with Tav and Goldson in the team but we certainly won`t win anything if Wright is still playing . Don`t know if I can bear another season of watching him and Dessers in a Rangers jersey . Why we would be chasing a talent like Cantwell out the door and keeping a pudding like Wright is beyond me.

16.) 23 Jul 2024 19:49:19
Maybe he’s just cadge a lift down to his new gaff?

17.) 23 Jul 2024 21:06:11
Daily Record reporting deal is on hold for Goldson as we want £1m to sell. Would’ve that would’ve already been agreed.

18.) 23 Jul 2024 21:36:44
Wsl I’m also one of weights biggest critics mate. Should’ve never even been at ibrox, thought the lad hedges looked a better player than him at dons.

Just calling what I see though that I think he’ll still be here, same as dowell who I don’t rate either.

19.) 23 Jul 2024 21:42:56
Chat at football tonight was 5 players out and 3 in - 2 of the 3 similar to what we've signed already, i. e. young with potential, however the other is a bit left field and one that will divide fans.

Tried to push for names, but best I could get was ''think El Hadji Diouf''

21 Jul 2024 16:46:24
Could. Suggest, with regards to Goldson going to Cyprus today, he was possibly meeting with a Turkish club?

StevieG2

1.) 21 Jul 2024 18:10:13
Hope so.

2.) 21 Jul 2024 18:36:16
If Goldson leaves we need two starter centre backs. Davies certainly isn’t good enough.

3.) 21 Jul 2024 19:01:51
Stevie, here's hoping. We need him to leave with Tav.

4.) 21 Jul 2024 19:13:50
Yeah, we hope Goldson goes so that we can be left to pick from Davies, Balogun and Souttar, that will make things better. Just like we get rid of Tav and have a choice between Sterling and nobody or get rid of Cantwell so that we can watch Lawrence or Dowell play walking football . We are getting rid of all the wrong players.

5.) 21 Jul 2024 19:34:03
Think he'll end up at Trabzonspor too? Just hope Bennett makes clear there's No Backsies!

6.) 21 Jul 2024 19:37:24
We need 2 centre half’s regardless.

7.) 21 Jul 2024 19:48:08
GC, I’m agree we need 2 strong centre backs.

Souttar and Nsiala as back up balogun aswell.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Harry Souttar as 1 of them.

Will be hard to live on Davies I think we may only get rid of Conor.

8.) 21 Jul 2024 20:13:36
At this stage i'd be a happy man if we could move on Tav and Goldson and bring in McKenna and Souttar. Not much to ask. Right? .

9.) 21 Jul 2024 20:20:21
If goldson leaves it will cure my impotence.

10.) 21 Jul 2024 20:32:57
Possibly a few Turkish clubs with a training camp in the North maybe check out where Gio's club is just now .

11.) 21 Jul 2024 20:51:40
Wslger I agree on cantwell and tav argument has merit but goldson is woeful and always has been people have failed to see it until now.

12.) 21 Jul 2024 21:20:15
Honest question Stevie, Have you watched Harry Souttar a lot, I haven’t but been reported that he is strong in the air but not the quickest covering the ground, we certainly need more pace in that area if we are going to play a pressing game.

13.) 21 Jul 2024 21:20:42
I'm reading aris limmosol.

14.) 21 Jul 2024 21:50:47
True blue, honest answer mate - no.

I seen a bit of him as a kid at Dundee Utd not much of club football but seen a lot of his games for Australia and he has always really impressed me in those games .
I think we need 2 starters.

1 with a strong physical presence and aerial threat, and the other who can play a bit and has pace.
Those 2 would be my starters with Souttar and Nsiala as back up and balogun as 5th. Maybe even back up instead of Souttar if he’s fit enough of the time.

Hope that answers your question as honest as I could mate. I don’t pretend to have seen a lot of players if I haven’t mate.

15.) 21 Jul 2024 22:23:52
Tav and goldson need to go due to their age and wage - amazed some can’t see that - replaced with younger cheaper options with a good future sell on - like Cantwell but may be one of our most sellable assets - Davies Lawrence wright dessers Lammers hagi - if we can move them all we can give PC a chance to build his team, save a load on wages and build for future - I think we can shift a good few or certainly hope we can - looking forward to the season regardless ??????.

16.) 21 Jul 2024 22:45:57
I think at the end of the day we are governed by those players who are actually generating ‘transfer’ interest.
The desire to move on a team of players from Dowell, Hagi, Goldson, Tav, Lammers, Wright etc needs to be tempered with both expectations as to what we are likely to receive for them as well as whether they go.
We’ve seen Lammers reject a number of opportunities due to salary demands (which he is entitled to do), and I think we may need to be creative in helping move some high earners on.
That then means we equally have to be creative in our signings from here on in. Don’t shoot me when I say looking at both the ‘free’ market for players like McBurnie, Tyrese Campbell and McKenna or finding creative ways to attract the likes of Conway (last year of contract and currently banished from his 1st team training, such as player swaps (say Ben Davies for him) .
Money is tight and we need to box clever and I think be more frugal in our contracts, but I believe we will get more experience in. Loan to buy seems a clear path.
As to CL it’ll come down to the draw and where the squad is at. Like it or not if the said players are still here come CL qualifiers then if they’re deemed important enough they’ll play.
I am an optimist without being naive. At heart we all want to unearth the next ‘o’reilly’ and our strategy is moving that way. Just hope the manager gets the time to see this through.

17.) 22 Jul 2024 06:08:07
I'd start nsiala what's the point of signing these guys if not going to play we don't have a reserve league or youth league do we?

Wasn't a fan of them being in. Highland league without promotion just there to be kicked lumps out of.

18.) 22 Jul 2024 06:37:21
@TrueBlue

We already have the better brother and the majority of our fans dying think he's good enough. Vast majority who want Harry do so based on rarely if ever having seen him play.

Harry is better in the air, but he's less mobile (in terms of direction change) than John. John is a lot better with the ball. Neither is quick, about the same. John is not aggressive in ground duels.

Long and short, I don't think Harry is any better than what we have currently. He wouldn't be a starter for me, so I don't see the point.

19.) 22 Jul 2024 09:20:00
J Soutar will be fine right side it's the doubts and fears left side that worry me, with uncertainty over Yilmaz transfer, Davies and of course Jefte who has looked not to good so far.

20.) 22 Jul 2024 12:49:54
RFC, Goldson hasn`t always been woeful ( 4 managers all had him as first pick every week ) although I admit he was poor last season. The point is if we sell him and the others we have no experience and are left with the players who couldn`t displace these guys. that's hardly an improvement. There is no guarantee that we will bring in better, there has been no signs of it up to now and to be left with Souttar, Davies and Balogun is a nightmare.

21.) 22 Jul 2024 15:38:07
Wslger

Do you remember goldson being at fault vs edouard at ibrox couldn't run

Do you remember him standing off the the pitch to right of goal when we drew 2-2 at Aberdeen

Do you remember him failing to cut out cross in europa final then flinging his hands up and blaming youngest guy in our team bassey

Do you remember his poor header that let them in this season when kyogo scored

Do you remember he faced to shut kyogo down at park head and gave him a free shot which kyogo took

Remember his f up in champions league qualifier

The guy constantly fs up and flings hands in air and points finger elsewhere how managers put him as vice captain I'll never know.

He's never been good enough ills say what I always do

Is he better than

Weir gough amoruso cellar butcher hemdani Moore boumsong boli bougherra ehiogu. Mcpherson mclaren Alves Andrew broadfoot Bartley bassey berg bocanegra deboer boli daily hendry khizianisvilli
Kyriakos petric Rodriguez

LOL I'd take any of these guys over him.

29 Nov 2024 00:39:58
Although Cortes is an obligation, I’d guess that obligation kicks in after a set number of games or starts or appearances?
At this rate we may just avoid the obligation.
Which imo would be a good thing.

StevieG2

1.) 29 Nov 2024 01:32:48
He’s pretty much our player, we’ve just delayed the payment until the end of the season. More and more teams do this. “Obligation” is different than “option”.

2.) 29 Nov 2024 05:30:11
It’s a done deal with Koppen or Pc said in interview months ago there is no way of backing out of it.

3.) 29 Nov 2024 05:46:14
The obligation kicks in at the end of the season when his loads expires. Although technically not our player until the summer of 2025 he will be a permanent rangers player I believe (not a FACT but something I believe to be the truth)

4.) 29 Nov 2024 07:14:58
Is it guys.?
Fair enough.
Call it wishful thinking on my part there then.

Well let’s hope he can put his injury problems behind him and show a run of fitness and form were yet to see.

5.) 29 Nov 2024 07:47:16
I was confident when I said that Igamane would become a fans favourite.

I was confident when I said Raskin, who picked up yet another MOTM, was technically the best player in our squad.

Over the last couple of weeks I'm even more confident that a fit Cortes will light up the league - he's everything that we've all been desperate to see in the team.

6.) 29 Nov 2024 07:56:53
Need to put together a run now domestically.

7.) 29 Nov 2024 08:06:31
I really like the boy, ehl and I hope that's his problems behind him and he kicks on to have a brilliant spell at the club.

22 Nov 2024 02:45:09
I’d like to make a serious point here.

Ano am no flavour a the month the now right lol so be it .

But that aside. What is it with rangers having hatred at worst or disrespect at best for ex bears.

Gerrard as example or Goldson borna kamara Alfredo Kent cantwell all recent but further back we’ve got negri or even super ally in some quarters. Barry. List goes on.

Current, tav dessers

Why do we show fellow bears who have represented us such distain?

It’s really bad when u add it all up:

StevieG2

1.) 22 Nov 2024 06:28:14
Stevie, a bit over the top, very few if any express Hate towards ex players. Fans are passionate about their clubs and at clubs especially like ours we have certain expectations and are frustrated and yes can be a bit over the top with criticism. Most of us would have dreamed of pulling on that blue shirt and when you see players not showing heart or desire it drives us crazy. Others see players have one good season and will treat them as heroes forever regardless of what they do later.
However one thing fans can rightly expect is players to give their best and frankly the attitude shown by some of the players, not just those mentioned, has been an absolute disgrace. Some have shown complete disrespect towards the club while here and after and yet some still want them lauded. Particularly Since 55 quite a number showed an attitude they clearly didn't want to be here and basically gave up. And then are happy to do interviews to put themselves back in the limelight when their careers have gone downhill blaming everyone but themselves, even our so called leaders. So no wonder fans get annoyed and call them out.

2.) 22 Nov 2024 06:53:10
I agree with Stevie, the over the top bit is the anger and at times hate towards past and current players. So much negativity.

3.) 22 Nov 2024 07:48:54
Fair dos Bizz if the fine attitude and positivity of the players performances brings you out in a warm fuzzy glow spread the love mate. ?.

4.) 22 Nov 2024 08:05:33
It’s nothing directly to do with the people you’ve listed, more to do with some of the idiots we need to listen to on here bigging these guys up like they’ve got a full trophy room at home and deserve a statue outside Ibrox.

Most the players you’ve listed downed tools and didn’t play well, therefore fans are perfectly within their right to call that out.

Dessers goes out his way to miss as many chances as he can, he’s now resorted to spending more time on the ground or complaining to the ref.

Tav has done well over his time here, not outstanding to be remembered as a legend but was great value for money.

Just to help you out as I know this is tough for you, these are opinions not FACTS as you like to pretend.

5.) 22 Nov 2024 09:25:22
It’s not just about the bad performances or occasional mistake though.
We as a fan base continue the Ill feeling king after they have left to most of these ex players or current sometimes,

6.) 22 Nov 2024 10:32:44
Players like Negri sh*t all over the club, but because he scored so many goals, in such a short time, all is forgiven now. Also, Morelos and Kent just gave up the ghost, and in Morelos's case, he chose to get sent off instead of actually trying in one game. Why would we support that?

There's some on here willing to forgive and forget too easily, but just remember, these guys contributed to failure. Negri's goals meant the square root of sod all to the club in the end, and they way some wax lyrical about him, is vomit inducing!

7.) 22 Nov 2024 13:42:00
It's not about occasional mistakes or performances. It's about standards and attitudes. Players downing tools or disrespecting the club deserve called out. And when players put out interviews drawing attention back to themselves there's going to be reactions.

The garbage spouted by Goldson this week for just one example moaning he's not lauded and admired the way McGregor is at Celtic who won 20 times what he did, and how basically he never got a heroes send off, despite knowing for ages he'd be leaving, blaming others for him as leader admitting he gave up in games and that he had underperformed last season and things weren't the same as under Gerrard 4 managers ago like he's not responsible for his own performance.

8.) 22 Nov 2024 14:28:38
A good post kaiser.

13 Nov 2024 00:06:41
Here’s one for yous lads, what about ruud van nistelrooy to replace PC?

Defo worth a shout if we were to part ways with him.

StevieG2

1.) 13 Nov 2024 06:29:01
I genuinely believe that’s enough internet for one day.

2.) 13 Nov 2024 07:01:23
Sorry Stevie not for me.

3.) 13 Nov 2024 08:03:02
As long as he picks himself infront of dessers.

4.) 13 Nov 2024 08:26:10
Very negative poster dado ?
Just a wee thing mf I seen online, someone else had suggested it n I thought that would be a good shout.
Similar profile as gio as manger.

5.) 13 Nov 2024 08:57:50
Great to have u back playing football manager on gerebstevie.

6.) 13 Nov 2024 09:10:20
Rudd rumoured to be going to Everton.

7.) 13 Nov 2024 09:30:39
That was mentioned in one of the rags yesterday. Never going to happen though.

8.) 13 Nov 2024 09:57:22
It’s clickbait crap because one fan said he wants ruud to replace PC.

9.) 13 Nov 2024 10:23:01
The same guy that barely scraped past a Michael Beale Rangers team? No tah.

10.) 13 Nov 2024 11:26:29
Absolutely Steve when it comes to replying to your posts, don’t think I’ve ever seen a guy so wide of the mark across so many topics. I wish of starting 11 could have your consistency.

11.) 13 Nov 2024 11:33:25
How’s it football manager John?

Was it not football manager when we got Ramsey?

What about gio as manager? Has same pedigree as ruud?

Anytime u get called out for past mistakes John u tend to try and get wee digs into other posters comments as if to try build yourself back up as the sites intelligent and informed pundit.

Bt snide of u mate.

By all means disagree but sarcy comments aren’t suited to such an esteemed poster John.

12.) 13 Nov 2024 12:18:27
Because imo u live in fantasy world yesterdaitwas pay pc in full on garden leave bt
Ring in moyes. As that saves money. God knows how

Today Rudd

If u don’t like my replies stop enywith me, because I won’t lose any sleep at all.

13.) 13 Nov 2024 12:23:13
I see your bit about build myself up, this is a site of faceless wonders myself included so no one know who we r, it’s up to others what they think of me I don’t care

Many great posters on here, and I am certainly not an esteemed poster, I am a one eyed, sick old man who comes on here to talk to very many good rangers people as a release.

14.) 13 Nov 2024 12:42:55
"Barely scrapped past"! Eh?! It was 7-3 on aggregate! They humped us 5-1 over there! ????

It's a non starter, but right now, he'd be a better option than the lump of wood we currently have.

15.) 13 Nov 2024 12:43:20
Away dado I’m certainly nowhere near as bad as that ??
Apreciate that u notice me though ??.

16.) 13 Nov 2024 13:16:35
Not sure having a similar profile to Gio a manager we sacked because he couldn`t cut it in domestic football is much of a recommendation.
Anyway with very little budget for new players guys like this wouldn`t touch the job.

17.) 13 Nov 2024 14:48:54
Couldn't be worse than what we have stevieg2. Don't let the negativity get to you mate.

18.) 13 Nov 2024 15:06:18
I ken someone better qualified.

19.) 13 Nov 2024 15:38:51
John, i wish you well with your sickness sir ?.

20.) 13 Nov 2024 16:04:56
Big dado thanks, but age does not come alone. I would change nothing at 75, well apart from our results.

21.) 13 Nov 2024 16:10:23
Oh, I wonder who that is, Ger88? ??.

22.) 13 Nov 2024 19:58:22
that was just for you ss.

12 Nov 2024 11:10:34
I’d place PC on gardening leave and give the job to David moyes until the end of the season with an agreement to review and both parties to have the chance to agree to a new deal or not:

StevieG2

1.) 12 Nov 2024 12:40:58
PC to agree to a new deal to remain in Gardening leave?

2.) 12 Nov 2024 12:42:25
Tell Phil not to come anywhere near my garden as i don't want him to bore the ar$e of my plants.

3.) 12 Nov 2024 12:52:26
Great idea Stevie. Spend millions (we don’t have) removing one manager to go with an interim manager, who will jump at the chance to be parachuted in and told we’ll see if you can turn it around and then we will talk about a longer term deal. By the way will you work for Pennies, help sell whatever playing assets we have at Christmas (to help fend off inevitable FFP breaches thanks to your hiring and firing policy) …
Are you actually being serious?

PC should stay. Amazingly we are in a cup final, still good chance of qualifying for post Xmas euro football, and whilst not ripping up hedges still in the league competing. constantly changing managers (and expecting us to hire high quality, expensive replacements who are ‘guaranteed’ to succeed) is a risky business. And unless Elon musk decides to sponsor Ibrox for a ludicrous amount I fail to see how we can financially do anything more at this stage. Surely we need consistency and to get the current squad playing and in a position where we can sell them profitably down the line.

4.) 12 Nov 2024 13:13:44
Stevie can u advise us where u intend to fund this from, I’m very interested.

5.) 12 Nov 2024 13:14:00
I’m trying to see any benefits to this post, can’t say a positive thing about it.

6.) 12 Nov 2024 13:22:20
Why would Daive Moyes take the Rangers job in this current situation?

7.) 12 Nov 2024 13:38:35
Thankfully you’re not on the Board then Stevie. That’s just mental.

8.) 12 Nov 2024 13:40:50
Offer him dooby bud, might help him see the way ahead with a herbal remedy ???.

9.) 12 Nov 2024 14:02:34
Correct me if I’m wrong anyone. ?

Gardening leave means he’ll pick up the salary we are already paying? Thus saving us from a pay off for him and his staff yes?

Yous are all shouting sack him?
So that save a bit of money forst and foremost.

We can afford to pay a new manager, of course we can.
What would it cost us for moyes?
£1m til end of season?

If we can’t afford that then someone turn the light off on the way out please and we can all go home.

10.) 12 Nov 2024 14:09:59
Fork your no right in the heed ???.

11.) 12 Nov 2024 15:19:19
I still don’t understand how we save money? We’d be paying two people to manage the club then restarting the whole process again next year?

I’ll stand by my original point, I’m struggling to see anything positive about the post?

12.) 12 Nov 2024 16:30:42
I know mate, meds needing upped????.

13.) 12 Nov 2024 16:36:19
Delighted to hear we are still competing in the league, , pretty impressive after 11 games, doubt that will be the case after 20.

14.) 12 Nov 2024 17:36:58
How is it hard to understand this .

Instead of sacking a manager and his whole team and this a compensation.
U place them on gardening leave until they are offered another job or are sickened and quit.
Saving the club millions
It’s not rocket science man.

What would yous do? Leave them in charge?
Sack them and pay them millions? Where do we get that money from if we can’t afford what I suggest:?

It’s not a hard thing to understand, disagree yes but to claim not to understand is beyond me.

Either way we need to pay the new manager anyway.

15.) 12 Nov 2024 17:47:30
Mcnaughten you can’t failed to be in Europe after Xmas as we are still playing league games after Xmas this season.

16.) 12 Nov 2024 19:02:13
So you’re saying we still pay two managers and save money? Alrighty then ?.

17.) 12 Nov 2024 20:53:44
Yea dado, til someone comes in for PC and he leaves cause he’s a hard working man and won’t want to sit about in his arse. Saves us paying compo mate.

Play the long game, bigger picture.

What would u rather do? Massive pay off for him and his staff?
Think my idea actually makes more sense than anything else I’ve heard regarding how to get rid and bring in someone new.

18.) 12 Nov 2024 21:45:46
Strom, I meant to say qualifying for the knockout stages of Europe. My point being we are very much in the mix currently.

19.) 13 Nov 2024 06:33:21
Like Graham Porter yeah? How’s that working out?

20.) 13 Nov 2024 08:33:01
Slightly (massively different) dado.
Potters in £15m a year bro.
People need t in stop comparing us with europes and Englands elite clubs. We’re no longer anywhere near that league. Nowhere near that level of club any more.

Pc prob on £1.5m a year.
Divided between the weeks he’s no different on a wage bill than an injured player.

It’s certainly cheaper than sacking him and his staff. Makes way more business sense mate.
Use the head for once and not the gut reaction.

Someone comes I do him or he quits or yous meet in middle ground. Save some money regardless.

21.) 13 Nov 2024 13:49:21
A few posters wanting to see us go bankrupt with a few of these suggestions, nothing will change at this time, as the financial impact on Rangers would be crippling. I said in another post the main priority for me is New long term investors, and then a strategy for that investment which would allow us to stay within FFP Rules and strengthen the playing squad.

22.) 13 Nov 2024 14:53:53
There is absolutely nothing we can do. The Board have obviously decided to stick it out with Clement. I can give him to the end of the season and reassess then. No problem with doing that. The expectation that we could remove most of the high earners that were crippling the club and not see an immediate negative impact on the playing squad was never likely to happen. We are playing well in Europe and so the adventure continues.

12 Nov 2024 10:21:59
Seen a post online there from a guy, pretty quality tbh.

Matondo is now 10 weeks into an 8 week injury.

Pretty much sums rangers up for many a year doesn’t it.

StevieG2

1.) 12 Nov 2024 12:37:42
Stevie but who said a 8 week injury mate?

2.) 12 Nov 2024 12:55:59
Nobody knows what length of time an injury will take, all managers are pushed into giving a timescale and some give a rough estimate . They are not doctors or physios and even they don`t know for sure. Some people heal faster than expected some slower and sometimes set backs happen.
No wonder Clement rarely gives a timescale or even confirms what type of injury the players have got, its just another stick to beat him with.
The fault lies with the people who are signing players with poor injury records and that has been gone on for a long time . The argument is that we could not attract these players if other clubs wanted them, but what use are even great players if they are never available . The biggest star we have attracted over the last few years is Ramsay and look how that worked out.

3.) 12 Nov 2024 13:22:04
Same with Yilmaz Stevie how long has he been out.
I’m sure the original diagnosis was maybe 4 weeks?

4.) 12 Nov 2024 13:49:36
Correct wslgers many set backs can happen with injuries.

5.) 12 Nov 2024 14:05:40
Rose ale that’s what I remember yilmaz aswel 4 weeks

Beale the guy posted an accompanying article with a quote from someone at the club I don’t know if was clement and do t want to lie for sake of conversation so be honest and say don’t know who.

Matondo would be out for 8 weeks

It’s now 10 and 12 when we’re back from break.

Really poorly tan injury wise.

6.) 12 Nov 2024 14:34:35
Or players in no hurry to declare themselves fit ?.

7.) 12 Nov 2024 14:54:39
We are not regular winning enough, either trophies are individual games . The players don’t start off the season expecting that they are going to win everything domestically. They play more in hope than certainly. Once a result goes the wrong way our players feel here we go again, confidence drop and we get to the stage that every game is a battle . We are not happy, manager can’t do anything right in some of our minds and opponents see their chances of getting results . This will continue until we all help and support each other, until we trusty players and manager, but when will that happen unless we change manager and within a year we are back in same boat.

8.) 13 Nov 2024 13:51:53
The question that should be asked of our backroom staff is, what is causing all these long term injuries, I don't recall the other teams having injured players ou as long as ours.

Jesus Christ lads, where did I say miller is near mctominay or Ferguson now?

Coops I mean Lewis not Barry:

Young miller is way ahead of Lewis Ferguson at same age right now.

And he’s also played more first team games than mctominay had at same age, so to say he has any going to be better or similar to that level in few years is just daft.

He has the ability to be better than both: obviously ability doesn’t take u there alone.

I stand by, miller will be too top drawer and imo will be better than those 2 be mentioned:

Thanks for info mate.

This would be the best transfer news I’ve heard regarding rangers since Steven Gerrard news broke:

I really really rate this lad. He is going to be a star. Better than mctominay and Ferguson imo: time will obviously tell though:

For me he walks into our team right now so I wouldn’t be loaning him back
I’d loan them rice if they wanted for 18 months though.

I think rice will go in to be a good player for us.

How good I don’t know, maybe after a years loan next season? Could send him to Motherwell on loan as part of a deal for miller.

Storm, u obviously know the family better than I do, which is zero, m going from reading online.

However kids normally follow in fathers footsteps when comes to football mate as wee all know too well.

Doesn’t mean he’ll go to rangers but I think it will be between rangers and Italy mate.

Well regardless I think this will be his last season think we all know that anyway.
Need someone to take him off our hands of course but I’m sure we will manage it somehow like we did with Conor:

Tav won’t leave in January he’ll simply see out the season and leave for free, perhaps to Saudi or USA.
He’s not going to leave half way thru testimonial year and especially if we’re still in Europe.

Do u expect him to leave for Madrid ed?

Not what u want to happens but what do u think mate.

StevieG2

{Ed001's Note - no idea. He wanted to stay but that was when Klopp was still in charge. Since I heard anything, Klopp announced he was leaving and Slot has come in. And he still hasn't had a contract offered to sign.}
