I've never rated the player but do agree that £4M is probably too cheap if you only go by stats.
That said, if any team scouted him they wouldn't be prepared to pay anything at all, so presume we take what's on offer, reduce the wage bill and use any money to get notice the team.

Dessers is a massively frustrating player who is capable of great moments.
He is also capable of horrific moments. Plus his hold up play is poor, his football intelligence in linking with those around him is poor and his basic physical attributes like pace and strength are average at best.

Folk saying it's a shocking deal must also consider Simon Murray to be the same value then?
Scores similar amount of goals in consecutive seasons at relegation battling teams.
He isn't and neither is CD. The fact is it doesn't take a £5M player to top our scoring charts.
The likes of Miovski, Murray, Cosgrove, Moult, Higdon are all similar in class to CD - and some of those quoted are better, and any half decent scout can recognise that.
Take what we can get, don't play hard ball and end up stuck with him for another year. Take it and move on.

The point is folk saying he should be worth more than a couple of million when most of the fans that watch him week in week out don't rate him.
AEK won't smash their transfer record on a 30yr old on 30k per week. They will likely pay between £2-3.5M. Maybe 4 with bonuses.
Fact is he is very poor and if we had done our due diligence rather than let Beale have free reign with the transfer kitty then he wouldn't even be at Rangers.
We need to move on and we will take a loss, hopefully just a small loss though.

So going by the furore that has occurred after this mornings false press release, I eoild say someone has purposely sabotaged the club's Manager/ Head Coach recruitment process. RM was never a choice for me and I don't think he was in the running for most of our fans either. I just hope it doesn't have an adverse affect on the appointment going forward. If it were to be RM, then he's got a mountain to climb before a ball is even kicked. Surely the majority of fans reaction to today's false release will make the club think very carefully going forward. I still think the job has already been earmarked for Ancelotti, but once again the club is having to sort out the Ops Media department as the process is taking far too long.
