Heart and Hand have said Rangers HAVEN'T made an approach for Shankland.
Thank feck.
9 goals from open play isn't good enough for Rangers.

MrPotatoHead

1.) 10 Apr 2023 13:22:17
We need far better than him, seen your comment earlier mph some want 3m+ spent on him but don't want Tillman signed unreal some fans.

2.) 10 Apr 2023 13:51:07
We might perceive that we need better than Shankland but, (i), will that happen, and (ii), given the correct quality around him, Shankland could easily score 30 goals+ a season, just ask McCoist and Boyd.
The problem is that we have not brought the appropriate quality of player to the club for a number of seasons failing to replace McGregor, Davis, Arfield and Jack with younger players of a similar or better quality, we failed to cash in on Morelos and Kent when their value was high and replace them with better or similar players and the centre of our defence is still a basket case despite the money spent and players signed.
Tillman and Shankland would both be quality signings with the appropriate level of quality beside them and behind them.
We need some proven quality leaders signed, not youngsters where there is more interest in how much we can make on them rather than whether they can win us the league.

3.) 10 Apr 2023 14:00:02
100% MPH age isn’t good enough IMO he wouldn’t get pens aff Tav. Colak is better and he isn’t good enough to be starter every week.

4.) 10 Apr 2023 14:02:55
Or he could fail playing against 11 behind the ball.

5.) 10 Apr 2023 14:09:00
BB its seems though that’s the main by product of who we buy. How much we can make. I.

6.) 10 Apr 2023 16:46:06
Shankland is a carthorse and this was proved beyond any doubt in Belgium and also in Hearts pathetic efforts in Europe .

McBurnie is an olympic level sprinter in comparison so is Dykes. btw both of them are quicker than Morelos as well.

7.) 10 apr 2023 16:55:56
thats correct bb and windy, sometimes you need to find boys to win the league before looking for a cash return,

8.) 10 Apr 2023 18:44:44
100% correct Tom.

9.) 10 Apr 2023 19:57:38
Spot on, Tom. We need guys to win us the league next season and that's all that counts right now and they aren't Shankland or Nisbet.

10.) 11 Apr 2023 15:02:40
I wouldn't discount either Nisbet or Shankland at the right price so long as we have the quality of player beside them that can give them the support needed. I hear analogies with McCoist and comments that we would have had criticism of signing him but a big part of McCoist's success was Lately and other quality players that he played with.
I suspect that both Shankland and Nisbet would be a success with those players as well; perhaps not as big a success, but a success.

Our problem over the past few seasons has been a failure to bring in quality, failing to secure the top players and going for 3rd rate alternatives.

11.) 11 Apr 2023 15:53:31
I would take either of them as 3rd choice
Probably pick nisbett over shankland but not much in it.
John in your oppinion does Lovelace get 3rd choice striker next season or does he go out on a seasons loan to championship team for games?

Rumours on Twitter, Kent's girlfriend is telling people he is leaving.
Nothing to do with money apparently, just fed up of playing in Scotland.

MrPotatoHead

1.) 06 Mar 2023 21:57:49
Don't blame him. Why would a Premier league level player stay at the club considering the absolute state we are in. Getting nothing for him is a crime ross wilson should be sacked for alone. An absolute imposter known for his ego. Can Burnley just take all our board too?

2.) 06 Mar 2023 22:00:56
Wouldn't have complaints about that or him staying.

3.) 06 Mar 2023 22:17:08
Good. Free's up very good wages for 1, potentially 2 others. Has the ability to be a very good player, but dosent delivery the goals and assists required on a regular basis.

4.) 06 Mar 2023 22:25:51
Fair enough been good player but certainly has to contribute more for the wage we pay him. Just a shame we don't pick up a fee.

5.) 06 Mar 2023 22:30:35
It's my opinion, both Kent and Morelos will leave when their contracts are up. After the last couple of weeks, where I was hoping both would stay, I've come to the conclusion, they're off!

If both leave, and with Helander for the off, and Roofe made of glass, how much are we going to be down with these 4?

Roofe, who is buying him? £4m to buy. Probably £0 return?!
Helander released - £2.7 to buy. £0 return!
Kent off on a free? £7.5m to buy. £0 probability in return?!
Morelos off on free? £1m to buy. £0 probability in return?!

The reason I have said 'probability' with Kent, and Morelos, is because nothing is concrete. They could, in theory, sign new contracts.

So, with this "transfer model" we're meant to have, has it worked here? Nope!

Trophy wise, have we got a good return on investment with these players? 2 trophies in 6/ 7 seasons. Nope!

Money made from participation in Europe? Has this been successful? Yes, definitely!

So, virtually hee haw to show trophy wise, and sod all from money brought in by selling them, but at least they made us money in Europe! I'm so glad the board pumped that money straight back into our playing squad. Oh, wait, they never!

I know some will try to excuse this, but we knew we were buying 2 injury prone players. And with Kent and Morelos, we took our eye off the ball with them.

C'mon guys, surely to God you can't be happy with this? It's an omni-shambles!

6.) 06 Mar 2023 22:50:42
Good luck to the guy. Does anyone want him?

7.) 06 Mar 2023 23:23:01
Money made from Europe / sales was always going to be used to repay soft loans, these guys invested to save club, but were always going to be expecting a return for there money, I think you will find sometime soon some will be selling up to get further returns on investment, you can't blame then they have done there bit, after all it just how business works.

8.) 06 Mar 2023 23:23:11
TZjrfc Premier League player? everything else I agree with.

9.) 06 Mar 2023 23:55:24
Yes, premier league player.

10.) 07 Mar 2023 00:00:31
He’s went down hill over the last season so has wee buf.

11.) 07 Mar 2023 01:44:10
Why do people always act like it's the end of the world that a couple of players are leaving. We end up finding other club heroes down the line we always do.

As long as players give Thier all when here and honour Thier contract if they want to move on I say good luck to them.

I do however thing we should be more business orientated once a player has two years left on deal and of player not signing an extension should look to move them on asap.

12.) 07 Mar 2023 05:22:26
If ryan kent is leaving, i wish the guy all the best of luck wherever he goes next ? It's of my opinion kent would excel even more in a better/ more technical league as he'd get more time and space to showcase his undoubted ability ?I can understand him becoming a bit fed up playing in our league when he's continually fouled in this league with some of the hammer throwers ?
Parlane kent will have interest in him no doubt for me mate ?.

13.) 07 Mar 2023 05:37:33
I don't agree he's a premier league player whatsoever. If he goes to Premier league he will do the same as aribo and disappear. A championship player.

14.) 07 Mar 2023 06:43:53
Time will tell wherever he goes Herewego55?.

15.) 07 Mar 2023 07:46:41
He will get found out in the epl IMO.

16.) 07 Mar 2023 08:09:51
How's it a crime getting nothing for Kent, Tjrfc?
To get money for him, someone has to make a bid for the player.
And Kent himself has chosen to run down his contract and not sign the extension on the table.
Which is his prerogative.

17.) 07 Mar 2023 08:29:23
Tjrfc - "The absolute state we are in". Really? We are on course to record one of our highest ever points tallys, have reached 2 cup finals on the bounce and a european final. Yes we are falling short mainly down imo to poor recruitment but to say we are in a state is ridiclious. The reality is Celtic have bought well and have been incredibly consistent for 18 months now. In any other era we would be well in place for the league this season.

Kent is a good player who works incredibly hard for the team often to the detrment of his numbers and could do well in the EPL at a certain level but I don't believe he will leave.

18.) 07 Mar 2023 09:17:35
Schalke dropped £10m on Matondo and Wilson thought "ooo a bargain" guy's an utter plank .

19.) 07 Mar 2023 09:27:13
Fed up of this, 2 trophies in 6 or 7 years crap. Let's be honest we haven't had the finances to even look at competing until the last 3 or 4 seasons. Onky Morelos of those players have been here 6 seasons. Roofe been here 3, Helander 4, kent 4, Morelos 6 (averaging a goal every 2 games) . Not going to make profit on every signing and not going to win things every season when our budget was half of theirs.

20.) 07 Mar 2023 09:59:44
Peter since when is reaching finals a success at this club? Never, that's an absolutely pathetic mentality.

21.) 07 Mar 2023 10:14:42
Tjrfc you make sweep look positive on here.

Kent I would see the point if he was bossing it every game in why he would be bored maybe that’s why he doesn’t always put effort in/ always inconsistent.
Let him go bigger and better players than him have left our great club he is a serial loser and fails to do it when needed.

22.) 07 Mar 2023 11:20:33
We could point that at many of our players stormtrooper just not kent and colak and of course the whipping boy tav ?.

23.) 07 Mar 2023 12:41:37
TJRFC - Nobody said its success (Clearly its not) and we have fell short as I said BUT its not in an "absolute state". Comments like that are ridiclious.

24.) 07 Mar 2023 12:50:43
Coops we are talking about kent tho on this post that’s why I mentioned kent. Also I would say it’s Alfredo Morelos that’s turned into the whipping boy on this site these days.

Tav has never been a good defender or ever will be and not a captain either serial loser. (Since you mentioned him) that’s my opinion am entitled to it as much as any other person on here.

You seem to question everyone opinion on here. ?.

25.) 07 Mar 2023 15:32:42
It's a simple one for me, Kent and Morelose are at the end of their contracts. If they want to go elsewhere then good luck to them. We simply need to sign better to replace them and there are plenty of better players available on free's at the end of this Season!

26.) 07 Mar 2023 17:16:16
It is an absolute state. We are as far away from them squad wise as we were in gerrards first season. Wonder what happened or who joined in that period that's had such a detrimental affect.

27.) 07 Mar 2023 17:59:10
Alright Huey, I'll go along with your assertion, and take the bait!

So, 2 trophies in 4 seasons (we'll go along with your time frame), in a 2 horse league?! You think that's acceptable? That's 2 trophies, out of a potential 12 domestic we competed in, and you're ok a club our size has only managed to win 2 of these? That's ok for you? Jesus wept!

There you have it. Continue to support failure, make excuse after excuse for our numerous failures, and all you'll ever get back is continued failure. You're now one of the Rangers supporters who are accepting of 2nd best. You can deny it, or tell me I'm talking "crap", but that's where we are nowadays with many supporters.

You would rather have a go at supporters like me, who see things as they are, who lay out cold hard facts for you to consider, but instead of accepting what's right in front of you, you'd rather be in denial and give it the old 'you're talking crap' patter! ?‍♂️?

Huey, we're on a par with St Johnstone in the number of trophies won over the last few seasons. In fact, go back a little further, and they're a trophy a head of us in the past 7 seasons. St Johnstone?! How is that acceptable?!

28.) 07 Mar 2023 21:50:37
For me since the new manager came in Kent has showed glimpses albeit glimpses of the guy we know.
I think the change of playing through the middle has been great but has been put out wide again.
Give him that freedom and let him do what he does is the way forward for me he will get back to his best unless his heart is set on somethn.

29.) 08 Mar 2023 13:48:48
If Kent and Morelos are leaving at the end of the season I would let them rot on the bench till they go.

27 Jan 2023 11:24:30
From a twitter feed called - All information on Standard de Liège, All new over Standard de Liège:-

As announced yesterday, Standard have turned down an offer from Rangers for Nicolas Raskin. This amounted to 500,000 €, while Standard wants 2 million as well as a percentage on resale.

MrPotatoHead

1.) 27 Jan 2023 11:32:01
Personally I don't want to spend £2m for a player as well as add ons for a player we can get for nothing in 6month.

2.) 27 Jan 2023 11:36:35
Standard are never going to get 2 million for him from rangers when we can get him for free in the summer.

3.) 27 Jan 2023 11:42:17
They're at it!
£2million is taking the piss. Also seen they want a sell on clause. I know Rangers getva lot of stick over transfers but we cannot agree to that when we get him for nothing in 4 mo the time.

4.) 27 Jan 2023 11:48:04
2 mill is a steal for Raskin, he is exactly what we need in our midfield. we are still playing for 2 cups and potentially the league as well as a guaranteed champs league group spot if we take the league too, buying him now is a solid move.

5.) 27 Jan 2023 11:56:47
If true we should park this and let the boy join in 5 months.

6.) 27 Jan 2023 12:21:55
If they want 2 they've no chance personally I think 1m is fair given the length of time left on his contract.

7.) 27 Jan 2023 12:52:18
Raskin we will see you in the summer

Ger55 won't pay that.

8.) 27 Jan 2023 12:57:53
No chance we should be paying 2m.

9.) 27 Jan 2023 13:15:59
As much as I want the boy here, right now, there's not a chance I would give them this. If this is true, they can do one?!
Did this not happen before with a player we could've signed on a pre-contract, and their current club at the time, was demanding a sell on fee?

10.) 27 Jan 2023 13:26:34
Big Ben, yes hears wanted a 20% sell on for Souttar.

11.) 27 Jan 2023 13:43:25
Beale has came out and said no pre contract contract signed, fingers crossed we can get it down now, seems a lot of sources wrong on this one.

12.) 27 Jan 2023 13:53:48
That's the one John. Cheeky persons!

13.) 27 Jan 2023 14:08:38
Has Sakala peaked in value and it's the right time to sell him? If Whittaker replaces him then maybe the risk is he loses value quickly, all about money these days . But somebody is going soon to cover the incomings cost, this board see it that way. tie and blazer priority people.

14.) 27 Jan 2023 14:18:30
A lot of people ain’t understanding this we won’t get him for free in the summer as he is 21 so development fee will be paid whatever that amount is but it won’t be free.

15.) 27 Jan 2023 14:34:01
The thing is if he dose not sign a pre contract anybody else could nip in and do the same, coarse tbey want too make money on him

Its a risk you take

If you really want him you pay a fee

Unless 100% certain of a pre contract signed by Raskin too us or he really wants to become a gers player
We risk any other team doing the same

Its all Weeleying n dealing

Both party's want tbe best they can get for themselfs.

21 Jan 2023 14:36:02
The following translated from RTBF ( Belgium Football info ) :-
Belgian midfielder Nicolas Raskin is at the end of his contract at Standard de Liège next June. Much ink to flow around the negotiations, but nothing has been put on paper for an extension. The people of Liège must therefore separate from the 21-year-old median during this transfer window or risk seeing him leave for free in the club of this choice in June.
After interest from Racing Genk and Antwerp in particular, HLN indicates that an agreement exists between Raskin, who preferred an adventure abroad, and Glasgow Rangers. The vice-champion of Scotland should therefore do the same with the Liège team if he wishes to obtain the signing of the talented player. Contacts are not yet established between the two clubs.

MrPotatoHead

1.) 21 Jan 2023 14:42:21
Nice post!

Big fan of the term Vice-Champion ?. Sounds like some rubbish you’d get on sky or bt on the stats board.

2.) 21 Jan 2023 14:48:21
Hes the only one I'm excited about getting other two I'm hopefull will be big for us but they're unknown at our level. Has lowry been sidelined this year for not working hard enough?

3.) 21 Jan 2023 15:04:58
Unfortunately Lowry is fighting with Tillman and Arfield.
And both have so far chipped in with goals and assists. Though Arfield for me isn’t a starter anymore.
I’m a huge fan of Lowry and fingers crossed he gets a chance and grabs it with both hands.

4.) 21 Jan 2023 18:14:43
Had heard a rumour he had an attitude coming back and wasn't trying as hard as others.

5.) 21 Jan 2023 19:11:18
I'm guessing no more reliable than daily rebel or the sun ?.

6.) 21 Jan 2023 19:36:06
Mr potato Lowry not exactly fighting with them if he's not getting a fair shot . Think I hate with rangers a first team player can have a bad coue games and stay in just look at lundstrum recently ? lol or sands yet if a boy like Lowry has a small dip he's not good enough not up to standard has to do more does his teammates think he deserves a chance.

Your ment to build youth up not tear them down I still maintain if it wasn't for advocate we would never have had Ferguson for all those years same with McGregor with leguen foreign managers put faith in youngsters we don't only need to look at how our players are getting on in Italy Belgium our youth are starting to realise Scottish football is a graveyard for youth.

7.) 21 Jan 2023 20:47:49
I'd agree gofor I also think it's a symptom of us not winning games early anymore if we had games to bed early bring on the youth.

8.) 21 Jan 2023 21:23:46
Gofor when did gio put faith in youngsters.

9.) 22 Jan 2023 01:16:19
Storm did I say anything about gio?

Read again I said advocaat and leguen.

07 May 2022 18:18:07
Arfield signs one year extension.

MrPotatoHead

1.) 08 May 2022 13:25:42
Lowry signed until 2025 also. Both will serve us well next season.

Storm is spot on.
Everybody misses chances.
The following is a list of the current top 10 goal scorers in the SPFL.
From defenders to midfielders to strikers.
Tav misses 74% of his chances ( 3 big chances missed ) .
Bair misses 78% of his chances ( 8 big chances missed ) .
Shankland misses 83% of his chances ( 9 big chances missed ) .
Murray misses 84% of his chances ( 7 big chances missed ) .
Sima misses 85% of his chances ( 6 big chances missed ) .
Dessers misses 85% of his chances ( 23 big chances missed ) .
Miovski misses 85% of his chances ( 13 big chances missed ) .
O'Reilly misses 86% of his chances ( 9 big chances missed ) .
Kyogo misses 87% of his chances ( 21 big chances missed ) .
McCowan misses 88% of his chances ( 2 big chances missed ) .
Most prolific striker going by goals per chance? Bair of Motherwell.
You can also see the amount of 'big' chances that Dessers has missed - though we have seen them with our own eyes!
You can also see the downturn in Kyogo's fortune this season - not as prolific and another who has missed loads of big chances.
Not a lot to chose either between Miovski and Shankland - 2 players that a few on here would like Rangers to sign.
We have 3 players in the top 10. But considering not one of the other 2 is a midfielder then we can see where we are shy of goals.
Again, nobody is saying Dessers is the answer going forward. But at this moment in time he's all we have.

MrPotatoHead

1.) 01 may 2024 14:22:20
yes he's obviously what we have at the moment, kyogo always steps up when the big moment arrives, that's the difference, stats are great but the only one that matters is the difference between rangers and celtic

dessers plays for rangers as a cf, he will obviously score goals as will kyogo, and now unfortunately idah, the difference is stepping up on the big stage, the crunch, the title decider, dessers should score over 20 goals imo, particularly now when the only viable challenge outside celtic is hearts, and rangers have dominated hearts this season. he must have had some amount of chances to get that 20 odd goals, often open goals and tap ins have been missed with alarming regularity, mainly because he seems unable not to touch the ball 5 times first., but yes he is what he is, far too clumsy to be top class but here now and has scored goals, he's far from alone in the miss stakes, the midfield has been shotshy all season,

2.) 01 May 2024 15:13:53
Tom for a few seasons our midfield do not contribute a decent amount of goals or assists, we should have three midfielders capable of ten goals and ten assists per season in all matches.

3.) 01 May 2024 15:43:51
Spot on MPH and John27, Celtic’s midfield have contributed something ridiculous like 30more goals than ours in the league.

4.) 01 May 2024 17:20:26
Ac this is something we must address.

5.) 01 May 2024 17:45:32
Going all out to try and prove that dessers 14 spl goals isn't a part of the problem, certainly would help if midfielders etc chipped in, but would also help if dessers scored more in the league.
We haven't had one striker since our return to top flight score 20+ league goals, tell me that's not part of the problem.
We have won 1 title in 9/ 10 years not had a top goalscorer, but no its not important. ?
Some might be happy to go another 10 year, win another 1 title, with our strikers posting measly 13/ 14 goals a season, not me I want the rangers striker to be top of the pile every time. Motherwell, hearts, Aberdeen, celtic,
Killie can find strikers to get 20+ goals in the league, why can't we want that? Should we settle for 2nd best? Never! Some will though, not me.

6.) 01 May 2024 18:14:31
Tom is only open goals and tap ins that’s just wrong go and look back at his goals this season.

Also you still need to be in the position for tap ins and open goals.

A tap in goal is the same as a 30 yard screamer it counts as one goal.

John 100% correct the goals coming from everywhere else especially wingers and midfielders is poor apart form sima. That doesn’t suit the narrative to blame dessers for not winning the league if infact we don’t win it.

7.) 01 May 2024 18:57:10
I will defend Dessers as I think he has done his bit for us this season. Only other mid to front player that has this season is Sima.

The problem with goals is not Dessers its:

Danilo
Roofe
Wright
Matondo
Mccausland
Lundstrum
Jack
Raskin
Lawrence
Goldson
Soutter
Balagun
Lammers

Not one of these players has scored the amount of goals they should have. Left out Cantwell but he could be on this list as well.

On here we see almost daily posts against Dessers and Tav all season.
Even though they are 2 of the 3 players who have actually stood up and put the ball in the net this season.

Was exact same with Sakala and Tillman last season, two of our best players last season. I just don't get it if I am honest.

8.) 01 may 2024 19:40:24
wish you would read posts properly storm, i never said only tap ins, I've said exactly what i think of dessers, lovely guy, scores a few because he plays up front fir rangers in the spl, that's it for me, not quality, diesnt have the touch or skills for quality, exactly like morelos, neither were good football players to me, dessers does a job sometimes, misses countless sitters and loses the ball constantly, that's not quality.

28 Apr 2024 15:54:33
Lundstram and Barisic both sign for the same Turkish mob?

MrPotatoHead

1.) 28 Apr 2024 16:00:13
If true then good riddance, two overpaid wastes of a jersey, bye bye ?.

2.) 28 Apr 2024 16:17:10
good luck to them reduces our wage bill.

3.) 28 Apr 2024 16:44:08
Best of luck to them, too many bitter folk on these pages. Turkey is not the land of milk and honey however, as some of our ex players found out.

4.) 28 Apr 2024 17:01:42
I'm glad we didn't give lundstram a £35 grand a week deal so he can go back and take ball from souttar and pass it to whoever souttar was gonnae pass to thanks for your service mate but it's over.

5.) 28 Apr 2024 17:21:46
Cuillin, why do players keep going to Turkey then? Nowhere near as bad as it used to be, and the climate is excellent.

6.) 28 Apr 2024 17:22:22
When did Lundstrum ever ask for a 35k deal from us?

7.) 28 apr 2024 18:02:02
seems to be a whole group whi don't get that hundreds of firiegn players go to turkey, vast majority with no issues at all, but, some people read something and that's they're mind made up for the next 20 years.

8.) 28 Apr 2024 20:24:37
Correct tom. Been to Turkey many times, brilliant weather, brilliant people, the way they treat their animals stray cats and dogs is just another level, all the dogs are neutered / dressed and treated brilliantly. Dogs just wander up to people in restaurants and they share their food with them, amazing.

28 Apr 2024 15:31:32
Deja Vu Sunday.
Yes, the 3 points are all that matters.
But that was another hard watch.
A Rangers performance that was a mirror image of the start by the Captain.
Another half arsed attempt at a clearance by Tav resulted in a chance for St Mirren within the first minute.
Saved by Butland again on countless occasions.
A defence that was again shaky at times.
A midfield that struggled to get a foothold in the game at times until we again decided to play through the middle later on in the second half.
But at least we can rely on the big man up front to pull us out of a hole as he became the first striker to score 20 goals in all competitions since Boyd and Miller. ?
We now have a home game against Killie who will in all probability present a tougher task than today.
Anyway the fat lady still isn't singing?⚪️?.

1.) 28 Apr 2024 15:59:47
Very true mph.

2.) 28 Apr 2024 16:04:18
There's no doubt we got away with 1 there. Players who we know can play so much better just not showing their potential. Do those players know what playing for Rangers is all about. We seriously need to up our game as the league title is still on.

3.) 28 Apr 2024 16:07:12
I disagree the fat lady is singing. We need to be winning games with goals to spare with the goal difference not winning 2-1.

4.) 28 Apr 2024 16:19:05
the slow start surely they can do some thing about that.

5.) 28 Apr 2024 17:23:46
Yep takes a lot of slack on here and got 20 goals this season and counting. Not saying he should be number one striker next season but people moaning about needing 20 goal + striker we have one and people still moan.

6.) 28 Apr 2024 17:50:55
"At least we can rely on" far to many games we couldn't rely on him, one of many reasons why we are playing catch up now. He's joint 3rd highest scorer in spl. 20 is decent but it's not the best, is it? Will we think we done well if we finish second? Because he first guy to score 20 since boyd/ Miller doesn't make it an achievement if guys this year and last year are scoring 30. So used to accepting 2nd best on here.

7.) 28 Apr 2024 17:56:33
I took plenty stick when i only said Dessers would score 20 goal this season.

8.) 28 Apr 2024 18:15:44
Correct storm ? the constant slagging off from some regarding dessers and the big fella has now hit the 20 goals scored mark and counting in his first season ?Not bad for someone rated as useless by some ?I'm like you storm as i'm not saying he'll be our no.1 striker going forward next season but i'd think and hope he'll remain part of our squad ?Hats off to big cyriel as he's never hid and gives his all for our club ???.

9.) 28 Apr 2024 18:42:53
Spot on, Storm. ???.

10.) 28 Apr 2024 19:50:22
It's laughable at the abuse big Cyriel takes, he's done well and a likeable big fecker to boot, Tav gets it too for his shaky defensive duties, rightly so, firstly btw he is a defender, can't fault his goal contribution though, but as stated previously he's not the same player anymore imo.

11.) 28 Apr 2024 20:41:06
I for one will keep moaning until our striker is the top scorer in the spl, while you guys carry on applauding the joint 3rd highest scorer in our league like it's some sort of achievement ?. Colak according to some was hopeless, yet scored 1 goal less, but played over 800 minutes less than dessers, who is getting plaudits? How can that be?

12.) 29 Apr 2024 07:30:08
Boy blue Colak cheated us as he is his Italian club.

600 minutes three goals this season.
Not applaud third top applaud rangers best striker.

22 Apr 2024 06:40:17
It wasn't the best performance.
But after a horrendous couple of weeks the win is all that matters.
Another chance to win a trophy this season.
Something we've all moaned about. Not winning enough domestic trophies.
Yes, the league is the main one but if we aren't winning that we need to be picking up Cups.
Great to see Dessers get a couple.
I was critical of the resigning of Balogun. But to be fair he was solid at the back.
And tactically I thought Clement was back to his best. ?⚪️?.

MrPotatoHead

1.) 22 Apr 2024 06:53:08
TBH i thought it was a good, comfortable performance by us yesterday ?From the very start i thought we had much more energy and urgency within our ranks before dropping off a wee bit after 25minutes ?We then picked it up again and ran out comfortable winners and big dessers could have scored 5 yesterday. Thought butland,
tav, sterling, balogun, dio, cantwell and dessers all played well yesterday, with cantwell my motm???.

2.) 22 Apr 2024 07:22:24
Great result after the last two calamitous matches - we stifled Hearts but apart from a few Souttar wobbles we looked ok at back - only concern is our wing play which was again lacking - just shows how much Cortes is missed ( direct running with pace) - Matondo again looked caught in headlights on occasion and you could see that PC was annoyed with him not being direct when man was there to take on - no point having blistering pace and not using it! - got to say the boy has never played well when starting - gut feeling is he is an impact sub at most.

Even McCausland looked for easy passes rather than committing his man (but hopefully that's just down to his recent injury and lack of fitness) Its one area where Celtic give us headaches in pacey direct wing play and an area where we need improvement if we want to kill off teams.

Great to have a final to look forward to - but this is time to turn up and show than we CAN beat them?.

3.) 22 Apr 2024 07:55:44
It was a better performance than what we have been delivering in the league, recently, but that wouldn't be hard. Balogun and Dessers were the standouts, with Diomonde playing his part.

Even though we won, the usual suspects do what they always do, and start to get carried away. A cup semi, at Hampden, against a team we regularly, and comfortably beat, is a total different ball game (pardon the pun) to playing them away in the league. Some can't help themselves!

4.) 22 Apr 2024 08:03:57
We certainly weren’t at our best but in the breath I never thought we were in danger of not winning.

I hope the squad take a bit of a confidence boost into the final league games and now the final.

5.) 22 Apr 2024 08:46:56
I agree with that SWS OBE.
I felt we controlled the match in the most part.
We can now concentrate on 5 cup finals in the league before the Scottish Cup Final.
The League’s a marathon and we’re entering the home straight faze so let’s kick the legs and hope that they blink next.

6.) 22 Apr 2024 09:00:22
I never thought we looked like losing because Hearts were terrible, Dado.

7.) 22 Apr 2024 09:39:11
I’m sure nobody’s getting carried away Raisetheroofe.
Nobody said winning the league was going to be easy from my recollection.
We never won 56 league titles loosing heart when the going got tough though.

8.) 22 Apr 2024 10:01:00
Yeah fair point MPH.

9.) 22 Apr 2024 10:14:33
CO2 i did, because the football we were playing was improving up until the start of February and never seen us only talking 2 points out of 9 the three previous league games, but if we can win the last six games we win the treble.

10.) 22 Apr 2024 10:41:09
Fair play, My Star, holding your hands up. Oh, and by the way, you weren't the only one.

11.) 22 Apr 2024 10:44:32
My star, 6 wins is a big ask. 2 of those wins need to be against a Celtic team we haven't beaten all season.

12.) 22 Apr 2024 10:53:11
We also need to improve our GD MyStar or we are relying on others talking more points off Celtic.
Can we do it?
Course we can. Until the table tells us differently.

13.) 22 Apr 2024 11:00:25
Yesterday showed me 2 wingers this summer and imo matondo won't do McCausland shows promise but needs to add more.

14.) 22 Apr 2024 11:44:56
Every goal we score against them in the league will count double.

15.) 22 Apr 2024 12:15:27
Fair enough my star.
I knew you were super confident but couldn’t recall you stating it would be easy which was my point.
I do admire your confidence though.

16.) 22 Apr 2024 12:25:59
Good point Seeker.
3-0 win and match their other results and we are Champions ??⚪️??
The Treble is on!

17.) 22 apr 2024 13:21:46
young ross was much much better than he has been recently imo.

18 Apr 2024 13:28:09
Like others, I've criticised Clements team selection against Celtic and RC.
I actually thought his line up looked OK before the game last night.
Even though it never panned out that way.
Plenty say this player or that player should be dropped.
So who would you play then?
Who replaces Tav?
Who replaces Goldson?
Does Souttar get a reprieve?
Who replaces Barisic?
Who replaces Lundstram?
Who replaces Lawrence?
Who replaces Cantwell?
Who replaces Silva?
Who replaces Dessers?
Can you trust Roofe to play 90 minutes?
Does Sima get a reprieve even though he missed a couple of chances last night.
What happens for subs? If we don't trust any of the above to start then how can we trust them to bolster the attack if we need a goal or to shore up the defence?
Let's see your team for Sunday without those who have let us down recently?
I would make it as the following:-
Butland
Sterling, King, Balogun, Sterling Cloned 1
Sterling Cloned 2, Diomande, McKinnon
Sterling Cloned 3, McCrorie, McCausland
Subs. Not got a clue
Should be interesting. ?.

MrPotatoHead

1.) 18 Apr 2024 13:46:12
Butland in goal and 10 x Sterlings outfield for me. easy win.

2.) 18 apr 2024 13:47:05
shouldnt have to replace any of them, they're all paid very well to play for rangers

they should be able to.

3.) 18 Apr 2024 14:33:57
just because they managed to get paid by a club doesn't mean they are good enough.

4.) 18 Apr 2024 14:38:04
My team last night:
Butland
Goldson Lundstrum Souttar
Tav Raskin Sterling
McCausland Cantwell Matondo
SIMA

Lost all hope now guys, never saw us getting that poor after the old firm comeback. Massive kick up the arse needed to win this cup semi.

5.) 18 Apr 2024 14:58:38
That would be perfect, Ally?.

6.) 18 Apr 2024 15:16:44
Roofe was horrendous last night tho I don’t blame him entirely should never have started.

Cantwell and Lawrence wood ave been as well watching it with me offered little. Since mwell we ave stopped playing through the midfield and playin hopeless long balls. Less said about Tav and Goldson the better.
I don’t think Celtic will drop enough points now but all we can do is win every game and hope for the best but I am not confident of that. that's the reason I said league was over.

7.) 18 Apr 2024 17:26:56
Mph, I get we can't drop full team, why has pc consistently played silva when matondo has shown more in 2 cameos than silva has shown in a long time, felt even young mcausland showed more desire in 10 mins last night than he has ever shown. Why did he start roofe over dessers, he was never match sharp to start in such a huge game. The biggest question I ask of pc, why did he start barisic after blatantly pulling a sickie v celtic that's angered me more than anything. Why on earth did he start wright v celtic? Imo he's got some huge calls wrong, game after game. We physiologically lost the plot in a must win game v celtic, that we just had to win, the players also knew this imo. The last couple of games we've been trying to rush everything because of previous results because we've not had a poacher to kill teams off. I think it was more evident in January that we needed a striker more than a midfielder, could have used tha diomande cash to get a striker in same kind of deal. Mph am not trying to throw it in your face about striker thing, we had different opinion on it no big deal mate, but feel we as a club got it wrong, we will never know just my opinion. Said in a post couple days ago only silver lining is the pc will now know about the players at his disposal. Hope you and family are well tattie ?.

8.) 18 Apr 2024 18:19:23
Honestly don't know why cantwell gets so much stick.

One of 3 players that actually care and his play style is totally hampered by the dross surrounding him.

We've seen the potential of what Clement can do with the bag of sh$te Beale left us.
We've seen the potential of what Clement can do with the underachievers until the going gets tough.
It's now up to Clement to see what he can achieve with his own signings.
Plenty of players who will still be here are needing a proper pre-season.
The only downside is that managers never get time to build a winning side at Rangers - the demands and expectations of the fans dictate that. And so they should. You don't get to win the amount of trophies we have over the years by having numerous rebuilds and achieving nothing of note as we have over the last 10 years.

Colak was slaughtered because he refused to play if he stubbed his toe, BoyBlue.
Loads slated Morelos for being unfit but he also rolled his sleeves up and played with injuries in his final season because we were down to the bare bones up front because of Colaks reluctance to play for the cause.
You rated Colak and yet someone you don't rate has the same amount of league goals and has scored more in all competitions.
Now I don't think Dessers is the answer going forward. He has limited ability but continually works hard for the team. But going by goals scored he's better than Colak who you rated?

How many of these 'homegrown' players are actually regular starters for Rangers?
Certainly not Jack, McCrorie or McLaughlin. Wright occasionally?

You are spot on, Storm.
To win titles you need goal scorers all over the park ( and a decent defence ) .
In the last 10 seasons, 5 top goal scorers have been with the team that won the league.
SPFL League Winners / Top Goal Scorer
2013/ 2014 – Celtic / Commons
2014/ 2015 – Celtic / Rooney
2015/ 2016 – Celtic / Griffiths
2016/ 2017 – Celtic / Boyce
2017/ 2018 – Celtic / Boyd
2018/ 2019 – Celtic / Morelos
2019/ 2020 – Celtic / Edouard
2020/ 2021 – Rangers / Edouard
2021/ 2022 – Celtic / Giakoumakis
2022/ 2023 – Celtic / Kyogo
2023/ 2024 -? / currently Shankland.

Spot on Azul and Storm.
Not one person saying Dessers is the long term answer.
But he is all we have.
Scored the goals to get us to another Cup final.
Scored 20 goals this season and people are still greeting.
Always available. Unlike Colak who liked a sickie.
