Sir, the problem is we don't get close enough to positions where we can shoot. Our possession play is murder. We need to have a right good go at Brazil, leave nothing in the tank and just go all out.

We can play some lovely footy at times, we just don't see it enough. This could well be our best generation of players for years to come so we may as well have a go.

Not Rangers Banter related but just wanted to check in with some of our regular posters.

Goingfor56 - I seen further down the pages that this is the first Father's Day without your wee daughter. I can't even begin to fathom how you deal with that but when you told us at the time, I couldn't shake that sadness for you for days. I have 2 girls aged 13 and 17 and they're my world. I have so much admiration for you.

Gazza - I hope you don't mind me bringing it up but you had mentioned some struggles before and some posters had suggested support services. Just checking in to see you're ok. I enjoy reading your posts. You were extremely brave and inspiring when you spoke out about your struggles.

BB4 - My old Possil comrade. i'm on holiday so only dipping in and out so not sure if somethings happened. Hope you and the family are alright.

What's everyone's views on these hydration breaks?

To me, that's not all it's for.

I'm all for player welfare, but 3 minutes to hydrate seems excessive. Although, I'm not a fitness or recovery guru.

I don't like that the players also get to receive info from the coaches and it feels more like American football.


I'm not a fan.

I'd have a wee go cart take drinks to the centre circle for all players.

There will be a need of the temperature is high; cooling core temperatures and lessening the risk of dehydration later in game. But it is FIFA and is all about the cash being made from advertisers.

Hydration breaks aren't new and used to be implemented under specific temperature thresholds.

I'm really not sure on the logic of that being applied this time around, i.e. that they need to be applied to all games in order to be fair.

No issue with the breaks, but agree it should be done centre circle, no contact with benches, etc. It's really just turning it into a game of 4 halves instead of 2. The changes of momentum after them are shocking.

I think a 4-4-2 will be his preferred option, but will be more of a 4-2-2-2 or 4-2-4 as we go forward. Having watched his Open Goal interview, he goes into depth about what he likes tactically, and he speaks on how much he likes how Bournemouth get the ball forward quickly.

I think we will see high pressing, then quick transitions when we win the ball back. Tbh, I don't care how we play as long as we win and win some trophies. Win trophies, then we can care about good football.

@John, 2 central midfielders with 2 wingers and 2 strikers. Not 2 attacking midfielders. I wouldn't say the tactics cost us the league, I'd say our mentality in the squad cost us the league.

2 out and out wingers with 2 strikers in attack, which translates into 4-2-2-2 or 4-2-4.
When in defense he likes his team to employ a mid block to recover the ball quickly, which sets up a quick transition.

I don't think McInnes has said tactics not important. Plenty of Rangers teams post Jock Wallace and pre/post Souness had good mentality, but not the football ability or intelligence to get above fourth in the league. A club needs to be good at everything to win titles.

I think, like most coaches / managers, McInnes will be flexible with his approach and will utilise multiple systems throughout a match - most of which won't align with the pregame info graphics.

Despite what most have said, Hearts spent very little time in 442.

They actually spent most games transitioning between 352 and 433.

Typically, one of the full backs would drop, rotating between playing centre back and full back, & Braga would rotate between playing off Shankland and playing off the right.
