What a disaster today by Rangers Women, 6-0 down after 74 minutes against Glasgow City, and even worse, Hearts losing at Hins, any win would have won the league, a hammering like this is out of the norm.

We collapsed just like the men, but saved it for the last game. 😭😭

24 May 2026 14:43:36
Rangers women must have been watching Danny Rohl and Co this year as they have blown it big time.

I'm no expert on the women's game, but being beaten 6-0 by a team below you in the league in such an important game reflects very badly on Leanne Crichton.

When she inevitably returns to punditry, I don't think I'll be taking any note of what she says if she talks about mentality. Shocker.

24 May 2026 16:40:10
They changed their management team and almost half the squad, with most of the experience, went. Promoted a lot of academy players and average age of squad plummeted. Despite that, Leanne Crighton managed to qualify for the Champions League, finished second in the league and are in next week's SW Cup.

That isn't a bad return and she/we will be building from a strong base next season.

Yes, they lost today badly but there is real hope for the future with the women. You need to look beyond one result and even one season to get sustained success. Thank goodness the women's fans are more supportive.

I think we really miss the young midfielder that went to Liverpool.

Was it McClean? Cracking player. I was always impressed by her.

24 May 2026 17:46:48
Kirsty MacLean, Gazza, and agree, we really miss her.

I also think we lose a lot when we don't start McAuley and McCleary.

Fabrizio Romano has posted Shankland deal done and all paperwork signed, official announcement shortly.

Posted about this rumour last night (as did others) source was a Hearts friend passing the information off a Hearts forum/whatsapp group and looks like they were bang on.

I genuinely couldn't see this happening and thought it was a rumour and nothing else, as always happens at this time of year with Shankland to Rangers.
I was convinced the Shankland ship had sailed. A very smart signing if/when announced.

Think the earliest we can register him is the 15th June, or thereabouts.

24 May 2026 15:47:39
Correct, EHL, it has moved from 1/7 due to WC.

24 May 2026 12:26:19
I think we all know now that lawrence shankland will become a Rangers player and i absolutely welcome lawrence to the the greatest club on the planet the famous Glasgow Rangers but he'll already know that as he's a big Rangers supporter and Rangers to the core 👌🇬🇧 Just a wee thing on a couple of posters who stated that they think shankland will be on our bench a fair bit of the time, i just can't see that guys 🤔 With shankland leaving as Hearts captain to sign for his boyhood idols, there's no way he's coming to sit on our subs bench, most of the time, otherwise he wouldn't have come especially at his age of almost 31 years old 🤔

He will need to earn his spot like everyone else at the club.

24 May 2026 15:18:16
I like Shankland, his goal scoring record speaks for itself. But according to some on here he wasn't good enough / too old / Scottish. And we are now about to sign him after losing the league when we could have signed him when we still had a chance to win the league.

That says it all about our club / pot decision time and time again, and unless we change that process we will continue to sign players too late. Welcome to the famous Lawrence. I just wish you'd arrived sooner.

24 May 2026 15:48:38
Fab Martin stopped the transfer last summer.

24 May 2026 15:50:02
Said on here two years ago we should have gone all out to sign him. Delightedly, he finally signed. Better late than never.

Wouldn't rule him out as a potential captain, but I suppose I'll need to know who else we sign during the window before declaring he should have the armband.

24 May 2026 12:20:28
Stevie on 4 Lads saying we have signed Shankland on a free transfer with a 2 year contract with option for another year. Looks like it's happening, new captain perhaps.

Bbc headlines, McBurnie the difference maker .

Must be really strange for the people online who think they know.

Well done big fella.

24 May 2026 13:01:19
TT, he scored the goal that is why he is the difference maker. I watched it and thought he was poor except for that, but goals win games and that is all that matters. Game wasn't the most exciting, tbh, but that would be expected given the stakes. They will need better if they want to survive in the EPL imo.

24 May 2026 13:41:05
I watched it as well, Angus. He was rank rotten, but was in the right place at the right time, and he won me a lot of money, but he certainly ain't what am looking for at Rangers.

24 May 2026 13:50:41
Have to agree, McBurnie had a poor game but was in right place for goal. Couple of times laid ball off, but then couldn't get in position for return.
Saying that would have him in World Cup squad ahead of Dykes, Hirst.

24 May 2026 14:44:45
Storm, glad you won some money off it. I don't think he is what we want or need. Hopefully, if Shankland rumour is true, it will be the end of it.

24 May 2026 15:55:55
Honestly can't believe he's not in Scotland squad. Dykes has scored 3 goals this season, Che Adams 5, got double the amount of goals of those 2 put together and still didn't get in. Saying that, think Clarke is a job for the boys type manager, if your face don't fit you ain't in.

24 May 2026 16:43:26
G56, I think Clarke is showing loyalty in the main to those who got us there. I think he also wants a good club spirit, and not sure McBurnie fits that type of character. Bring in one who risks breaking that spirit, and the whole squad suffers. Surely, with what has been said about our squad over the last few years, you can understand that.

24 May 2026 17:07:47
Tom, it's not people thinking they know anything, mate. We just look at his overall scoring record for a striker, and it's not very good. Yes, he has a good season every 4 years; could we honestly take the risk of him coming here and having 3 poor seasons waiting on a good one to come around? I've said it many times on here.

If McBurnie is our level of ambition, we'd be better off chucking it. Many won't agree, and that's fine, but I don't think anyone knows any better than anyone else on here. It's just opinion.

24 May 2026 17:07:54
No, mate, I can't understand it. You're going to a World Cup finals, you take the best squad available. Just take Dykes and Adams, as they have been in previous squads. We won't score any goals, but hey, that's fine, as we have a good squad spirit. Surely you can understand that, mate?

24 May 2026 11:51:40
Last year, when I was feeling more positive around the takeover, I said this coming season would be the summer we finally start building a team capable of competing properly again and challenging for every trophy.

At Rangers, for too long there's been a negativity hanging over the club a mentality where too many players looked comfortable with falling short, comfortable with excuses, and unable to handle the standards and pressure that come with wearing the badge.

The fans have backed this team through everything, but in return we've seen inconsistency, weak mentality in big moments, and players who simply haven't delivered when it mattered most. Kris Boyd even questioned the mentality within the squad after another collapse this season, and not for the first time.

But honestly, the clear-out happening this summer could be the best thing for the club. A lot of players leaving opens the door for a complete reset new energy, new hunger, and players who actually understand what it means to fight for Rangers Football Club every single week.

The board seem to want fewer quantity signings and more leaders with the right mentality and attitude, including players with Scottish experience who understand the demands of the club.

You can already sense that AC wants Rangers to move away from the stale atmosphere that's surrounded the dressing room for a while. Too many seasons have drifted because heads dropped too easily after setbacks. That has to end now.

The departures this summer don't weaken Rangers in my opinion they create opportunity. Opportunity for players with hunger, aggression, personality and pride to come in and raise standards again.

We all know Danny Rohl inherited a mess mid-season, but there were still signs of progress and fight before everything collapsed late on. Now he finally gets the chance to shape the squad properly around his own ideas, mentality and standards.

I genuinely believe we'll see a different Rangers this coming season. A team with better attitudes, stronger characters, and a completely different atmosphere around the club as a whole.

The negativity and complacency that's dragged the club down feels like it's finally going to be ripped out. With the right recruitment, leadership and mentality, Rangers can absolutely become a force again domestically and in Europe.

This rebuild might actually be the reset the club has needed for years.

New captain for starters, one who will stand tall.

I agree with every word, mate. Great post.

24 May 2026 12:54:39
Couldn't be any worse, surely.

24 May 2026 13:04:25
Stig, I agree and the player coming in will hopefully be quality rather than quantity. One of those qualities needs to be experience as well. But, if we only bring in a few then there will be room for a number of the players who were signed last season, imo.

With that leadership around them and a season of experiencing the demands of the club, I think they will also come good.

24 May 2026 13:32:33
Spot on, Stig. Great post. I also think we now have a united boardroom who clearly back the manager.
All we need is a few players with the attitude and desire to match their skills. Win the physical battles, match and exceed the opposition in terms of commitment and effort - then our footballing ability will shine through.
