Someone asked about Robbie Fraser. Robbie was spewing when he left Rangers and tbh so was I. Everything about it was so wrong, but so was the guys making the calls.
A buy back is being monitored and is the wish of Robbie to return to Rangers.
I will not comment on anything from Robbie further as it was posted he was the leak for the team sheet.
31 Mar 2026 07:05:35
You know my thoughts on Robbie and of how he was treated.
No surprise to me that he's back on our radar.
31 Mar 2026 07:39:49
He would be a sensible signing. Would he be happy to fight Rommens for a starting position? He'd have to be training and playing exceptionally to make the position his own.
31 Mar 2026 08:00:47
We should always be looking for similar ability to be a backup to any of the first choice player. He is a good bit short of that at the moment, so would be inclined to leave him where he is to allow further development.
31 Mar 2026 08:15:24
Sorry I don't get the hype around Robbie. Watched him a couple weeks ago, the game bypassed him, he never did much. Only 1 game I know, but on current showing he will never push Rommens. I get the Scottish club trained for Europe. Think hobbies found his level, truth be told.
31 Mar 2026 08:34:30
Read his article and was rotten how he was treated. Hope getting away and getting 1st team football has worked out for him and he bounces back in the future.
31 Mar 2026 08:44:23
Davie, what do you honestly expect when signing someone to be back up left back to someone like Rommens? We can't go out and sign an international to sit on the bench. Robbie is homegrown, a hard worker, and someone who is only going to get better.
He's had a decent season in the Championship, and as white horse says, wants to come back. Would be a very sensible signing as a back up for me.
31 Mar 2026 08:47:07
Agreed, Wishy. ππ
31 Mar 2026 09:13:49
Would be great to see him back, plenty senior minutes gained and ultimately a very good young player.
Russel Martin and Matt Gill's treatment of younger players been more and more baffling.
31 Mar 2026 09:21:16
Not good enough. Not even close to Meghoma, who can't get a sniff anymore.
Penrice should be the backup option.
31 Mar 2026 09:49:45
I've always wanted us to sign James Penrice for a good few years now. π Rommens will be sold for a big fee in the not too distant future, imo, and signing Penrice this summer absolutely makes sense for me, as he would then be our no.1 left back when Rommens is sold. π€
31 Mar 2026 09:53:30
For 1 wishy, you can't say he's only going to get better, cause you or nobody else knows that. A once great man said we need 2 great players for every position. No disrespect to Robbie himself, but he's found his level. You think if Rommens is out, Robbie will be same level? No chance.
You also state internationals sitting on the bench, most top clubs have international players sitting on their benches. What we need is, again, 2 top players for every position to push each other. In my opinion Robbie doesn't fall into that bracket.
31 Mar 2026 09:58:04
Just to note, wishy, I think Robbie and Rommens are the same age by miles apart from ability. If indeed we re-sign Robbie then that shows our ambition. Second fiddle to that lot.
31 Mar 2026 09:58:25
Watp let's spend 3-5 million on a back because we r loaded.
31 Mar 2026 10:12:24
John, you beat me to it. Whilst I want 2 players to be similar levels, that tends to be unrealistic. Why would Penrice want to come to the club and sit on the bench when he realistically knows Rommens is our first choice? It isn't like mf, where there are 3 positions to play for.
So a good developing player for there seems to be best atm; one who can step in and play if Rommens is injured or at end of games.
31 Mar 2026 10:16:44
Would be a no from me also.
31 Mar 2026 10:56:17
Davie1980 - I wonder if when Walter signed guys like Broadfoot, Daily etc. you thought the same? Additionally, what ambition have they shown we haven't?
Reality is, we need a backup LB to support Roomens this summer when Meghoma goes back, so why spend silly money when we can get a capable HG option in who will push Roomens and still young enough to develop.
31 Mar 2026 11:50:27
Rommens has been a brilliant signing and potentially a future Rangers Captain.
31 Mar 2026 12:22:29
Not good enough to be back up, sadly. Not sure where his ceiling is, but it's not Rangers.
Believe they'll recruit a more experienced left back hybrid type as per the model.
31 Mar 2026 12:37:10
Didn't see much of Robbie but he certainly looked good going forward. The way he was treated mirrors what Leon King said about what Martin did to him. A terrible way to treat boys who had already contributed more to Rangers than he ever would.
I saw Robbie play for Dunfermline earlier in the season and he put in a cross that was so good it almost bounced off the striker's head and in. It's only one game, but it's more than we were getting from the left until Rommens arrived.
31 Mar 2026 12:58:16
As u said, u only saw him once, so hard to judge. Haven't seen a lot of him either, so willing to bow to knowledge of those who have.
31 Mar 2026 13:44:54
Okay, Davie, I'll bow down to your superior knowledge having watched the boy what? A grand total of 1 game. π
31 Mar 2026 15:49:20
So, Wishy and Petera, you want Robbie back. Let's see how yous complain when Rommens is injured. He's currently, at best, a Championship player when we're trying to get into European football, never mind the Champions League, and Robbie's your answer for left back.
Ohh my days. Why not get Ian Black and Sandals and co back lol. There's levels, Robbie nowhere near the level required currently.
31 Mar 2026 15:51:45
Also to state seeing him once is enough to know he's not fit for Rangers. Wouldn't even say he's fit for any SPL team, but let's go sign him then fail to win. Championship at best is his current standard.
31 Mar 2026 17:22:20
Fraser will continue to improve but not if we sign him and he sits on the bench. Penrice, as a mature player with lots of first team experience, would be a better option provided he accepts he will usually be a sub.
31 Mar 2026 17:37:10
Davie, we need a starting RB, CB, RW, LW, and ST this summer. That's not including potentially needing to replace Raskin manny or Chermiti. A back up left back like Robbie Fraser would be smart business with the sheer amount of players we will need to do. Rommens is going to play most of the time when fit.
31 Mar 2026 18:02:31
Davie instead of slaughtering peoples views who would u suggest Rangers sign as back up for Rommens?
31 Mar 2026 19:21:23
Wishy, a smart signing lol. Really. OK, let's go waste some of our wages on somebody that's never going to play, and if he does, by default he makes our team weaker. Get a grip. I want Robbie to succeed, but he's never Rangers class, not even on the bench. If this is the standard fans think we should just stop playing and hand Celtic all the titles.
I understand that's your opinion, which I appreciate and accept as my opinion, but tell me what attributes would you say he has over any other potential left back we could sign, including Meghoma, that he's currently better. Take away the club trains Scottish thing for Europe, as if that our level we won't need to worry about it as we won't be in Europe.
31 Mar 2026 19:26:16
You've got to love the international break.
Even as s*** as it is, because the Rangers aren't playing, some guys still find something to argue about on this forum. πππ
31 Mar 2026 19:26:26
OK, we get it, Davie, u don't think much of Robbie, others do and have stated so, others think it's beneficial if he continues where he is and develops, but we are discussing one of our popular poster's family member, be respectful, not that I'm saying you aren't.
01 Apr 2026 15:43:33
Fork, I realise he has a family member on here, I think it's white horse. I also stated on my reply about I get that's your opinion and I appreciate that. I also stated in another reply that I respected Robbie.
