Is Lee Wallace being interviewed for a position in Rohl's back room or is it just paper talk?

Had a message from a friend tonight saying that the ex-player joining Rohl's team is Lee McCulloch. Haven't seen his name mentioned on here. No idea if there is any truth to it either.
23 Oct 2025 23:38:49
Would be fantastic, would be great to get the two Lee's back together.
24 Oct 2025 01:26:17
Big jump g would be a fantastic idea.
24 Oct 2025 04:49:10
Lee mculloch 🤦🏻♂️.
24 Oct 2025 07:13:53
Allegedly in the frame also Rhys McCabe has spoke with Rohl,
24 Oct 2025 08:10:11
Big jig, u seen his turkey teeth their dazzlin😉😬.
24 Oct 2025 08:20:20
There isn't a Rangers man alive that could motivate Thelwell's muppets, Rohl could be the best coach in the world and it wouldn't matter…
He'll need to be given to at least the end of the season and will also need a similar expenditure in January to what was spent in August to even stand a chance of improvement…
Will our fans give him that?
Highly doubtful 🤨.
24 Oct 2025 08:51:21
We need a new DOF in asap, who should be tasked with returning loan players and getting as many of these imposters off the books in January (no easy task! ). Sell Raskin to fund some incomings and prepare for next season. This current lot will struggle to finish top 4 let alone top 2.
24 Oct 2025 09:49:13
No doubt Rohl is going to need time and money to sort this mess out.
But I was gobsmaked he played Djiga, Antman and Chementi in his first 11.
Like I said, that result is not on Rohl at all, but it did worry me that was his initial thoughts!
As for his mindset, and the small discussion with the fans at the end, I thought that was very clever, open and respectful, refreshing to see.
Let's hope the squad now get behind him and get some fire in their bellies. think we will be spending a few quid in January as well, but who do we off load and in what positions?
My opinion we need a new back four and play two up front every game.
Playing a lone striker has never worked that well for us.
24 Oct 2025 10:09:44
John i'll try and find out regarding Rhys McCabe mate as i know his old man Kevin 👍.
24 Oct 2025 11:09:37
Only players that stay in the team are Butland and Raskin
Raskin will be a lot better once he is around better players but that'll tale a couple of transfer windows.
Guys like Tav, Souttar, Dgija, Meghoma, Rothwell, Antman, Aasgard, Chermiti all need dropped and most need totally replaced.
Barron is a good wee player but he's not going to win us games.
Cameron could be a good player for us but will likely take time to come back from injury.
Miovski. i thought would be better but he is surrounded by duds and doesn't get a lot of service.
Curtis needs to be used more for sure and progress him.
Danny will get until the end of the season i think, surely.
Fans now need to be realistic though.
24 Oct 2025 12:07:38
Never seen so much nonsense in my life tbh. "Giving" the manager till the end of the season? Who do you think you are? Danny Rohl deserves to be given the time he needs to rebuild our club. Chopping and changing manager constantly has created this absolute sh*t show that we are in and if we have any chance of turning it around we need to give the manager/ head coach the time it takes to do so. The writing off of players who were utterly destroyed under Martin is nothing short of a disgrace. I see above someone actually thinks it's a good idea to sell our best player! Madness! Antman is a decent player, as is Asgaard but their confidence and fitness was battered by a complete impostor of a coach. That runs through the team.
I am honestly of the belief that under normal circumstances the league is still doable, but in reality the cups offer our only chance of winning silverware this season. Celtic are beatable in the upcoming semi final and the Scottish Cup is a possibility as well with decent draws. Europe is a complete write off obviously.
One question for you all, how many of you go to games in supporters buses which carry the name "loyal" - look up the meaning of the word. How many of you sing songs like Follow Follow? Again, listen to the words.
We are all in this together and need to pull together to come through this bad spell.
24 Oct 2025 12:37:26
In all honesty i actually have bo issues with midfield, wingers and do think Niovski will come good again when the confidence of team improves. For me the issue is 100% defensively we need a fresh back line maybe a mix of experienced CBs and promising but decent wing backs. I say that because Rohl only had a day with the team before Thursday which is shocking if he had been in earlier he could have had a lot longer with the non international lads and worked a lot on them but that's not his fault.
He has to undo the damage Martin has done and the judgement of these new guys is based on the pish, Martin had them playing. I think some not all ate better than being suggested and with a bit of time under proper coaching we might see that. In saying that I've wanted us to play 2 up top for years i'd like to see tradional 442 or even a 4222 would have loved to see Dessers and Igamane play together more. 1 striker up top with this teams current play and confidence is pointless just now.
24 Oct 2025 12:38:44
Its unbelievable that after all the changes in the summer we look as if we need to have a do over. the players we have signed simply aren't good enough and listening to the senior players recently, also seem to have an attitude problem. The loanees all need to be returned as soon as contractually possible as they are useless and whether we rate them or not guys like Cameron, Barron, Diomande and maybe even Curtis, Rice and Nsiala need to be more involved.
I would also like to see Fernandez get a game to see what he's got. We are crying out for a big centre half who will go and head a ball at both ends of the pitch because Souttar, Cornelius and especially Djiga can't do it. Build the team around those that work hard and care, as a first step.
24 Oct 2025 12:55:05
A lot of our strikers the last couple of years didn't get much service but one still scored plenty and was run out of town by some fans.
24 Oct 2025 13:04:34
What is there to find out he has spoken with Rohl, we will know soon enough if we put an ex Rangers in squad,
24 Oct 2025 13:37:42
DTB - great post 👏.
24 Oct 2025 14:43:19
Some people think kt been picking team for last 2 games!
24 Oct 2025 15:43:33
What has the word 'Loyal' in supporters clubs names or the lyrics of Follow Follow got to do with giving Danny Rohl until the end of the season to improve performances?
Absolute drivel…
People posting here whether positive or negative would suggest they are 'Loyal' and that they 'Follow Follow' otherwise they wouldn't bother posting.
DTB are you suggesting that if Rohl doesn't improve performances by the end of the season he should be allowed to continue next season regardless because that would demonstrate loyalty and be in line with the lyrics to follow follow?
Apply the words below to your own post…
"never seen so much nonsense in my life tbh".
24 Oct 2025 15:48:15
Where's the money for a rebuild coing from? We used the fees ftom iga yolmaz and dessers we are unlikely to have Europe next season and with financial rules can't just invest money to spend on players. The damage done this summer could take 2 years to fix and we cannot allow Thelwell to be in charge of any recruitment we can afford in jan.
24 Oct 2025 16:52:32
Well fired Rohl - did you do as I suggested or just spout absolute drivel in response? If you want to keep booing and shouting at a new head coach, feel free to do so.
I suggest looking up the meanings as I suggested, educate yourself as to the meaning of loyal. Also, mean the words you may or may not sing. I am thinking it's more likely to be not, you will be one of many who pay good money to moan.
You can respond if you like, but the world and it's dug know you will be clutching at straws as always.
24 Oct 2025 17:50:37
Wee McCabe would be a great addition. Plays football the right way and punched with Airdrie.
22 Oct 2025 17:20:54
Hearing that barry ferguson is possibly going to be part of danny rohl's backroom team 🤔Has any of our posters heard the same 🤔.
22 Oct 2025 17:53:16
Highly doubt it. What does he really offer as a coach?
22 Oct 2025 18:20:31
Not heard his name yet, appear Rohl has spoke to two ex Rangers today.
22 Oct 2025 18:30:27
Danny Rohl is a good coach Barry is a different personality to put in there, he knows the club and knows what it takes to win at the club. I'd love Barry to learn of someone like Danny Rohl.
22 Oct 2025 18:37:04
Davis or Wallace.
22 Oct 2025 18:37:38
I don't want Ferguson learning. I want someone who can operate with passion and skills.
22 Oct 2025 19:15:08
Think bringing Barry in as a coach would be a huge mistake. For me he did ok as an interim manager but personally i think he would clash with Rohl and overstep boundaries.
22 Oct 2025 19:16:06
Yes John, the other 2 names i heard Danny Rohl had spoken to are maurice ross and steven davis 🤔.
22 Oct 2025 19:26:44
We need Rangers men in the club. I would take Barry. But i feel a Kevin Thomson / Neil McCann might be better suited.
22 Oct 2025 19:38:08
We don't need paid cheerleaders.
We need coaches who bring value.
22 Oct 2025 20:03:04
Steve Davis would be a great option.
22 Oct 2025 20:16:55
Would love barry back as a coach think he would do a great job.
22 Oct 2025 20:22:47
I couldn't care one iota if any of our coaches were former Rangers players. I just want them to be good at their job, who will help improve the team. The thought of Ferguson or Wallace rocking up to take a coaching role stinks of a token gesture to gain brownie points. It's pretty desperate, actually.
22 Oct 2025 20:37:28
Steve Davis for me.
Doing a great job with Michael Oneill and Northern Ireland.
22 Oct 2025 20:49:13
No to Barry but would happily take the others mentioned above. Davis, McCann, Thompson and Ross.
22 Oct 2025 21:14:31
I am not sure if BF will get the gig, wants the gig, or needs the gig. however I am sure of one thing, if anyone deserves the gig and a chance to learn and advance their skills it's BF.
Some of the driffle on here against BF is shocking! Not to mention undeserved.
He is due a chance whatever the role.
Respect the man.
He respects us!
22 Oct 2025 21:21:05
Yes Walter I read these names as well, not the two names I've heard, nor is Thomson.
22 Oct 2025 21:35:33
Hopefully any of the names mentioned before Ferguson.
22 Oct 2025 22:29:19
Personally I would love Defoe for the attackers McCann for the wingers Davis for the midfielders and Ross for the defenders bring them home.
22 Oct 2025 22:50:03
Albrfc, that won't happen, four wages, only be one.
22 Oct 2025 23:43:43
Totally agree JR1972.
23 Oct 2025 00:35:32
Barry wants to be number 1 and the main man. Think it would be a disaster with him as an assistant.
Steven Davis or Duncan Ferguson for me.
23 Oct 2025 01:31:57
Thomson's been in and out of the club like a yo-yo for years, it's an absolute no for me, as is Ferguson and McCann.
23 Oct 2025 02:20:22
JR no one is having a go at Barry jeezo man just because he's a legend doesn't mean we can't criticise him. As a Player fantastic, Someone I will always look up to and appreciate but as a Coach what "Value" does he bring other than "haha Rangers man"
23 Oct 2025 06:38:48
Barry would be a disaster but Duncan would do great. Wow.
23 Oct 2025 07:03:19
I think it's important to have a qualified coach with knowledge of the league and the club - it's pretty common at most clubs.
23 Oct 2025 07:10:47
Why are some on here so fixated by trying to shoehorn D Ferguson in to a coaching role? Or Wallace? Or B Ferguson? Have you been asleep for the past 13 years? We need real, successful, talented coaches, not token cheerleaders.
The reasons for our failures is nothing to do with not having a 'Rangers core' through our coaching team, it's because we had the wrong managers, players, and coaches who were bad at their jobs.
23 Oct 2025 08:22:07
I respect Barry and what he feels and what he did for Rangers. However, I want someone skills and talent ready to assist Rhol. Not someone learning. Barry just isn't clever enough. You need more than love and beating your chest.
McCann seems a fair shout but I think he either doesn't want it or if he was going to get it he'd be named by now. Perhaps someone who can actually take the reigns when Rohl goes. Big shout.
23 Oct 2025 08:47:38
Sunshine supporter you clearly know nothing about Lee Wallace as a coach, very highly thought of. Would be an excellent addition in my opinion. Much better than the other names being mentioned.
23 Oct 2025 09:03:55
BF was a great Captain and player but also instrumental in the downfall of Paul Le Guen.
Also his association with Keith Jackson left a lot to be desired so it's a no from me.
23 Oct 2025 09:46:03
What i'd like to see is some succession planning where we have someone in the first team coaching structure who is being developed to take over the head coach/ manager role in the years to come.
Souness/ Smith or Smith/ McCoist. Ideally someone who has been involved in the club but it doesn't have to be, the primary objective is someone who is a quality coach/ leader who right now shows potential.
23 Oct 2025 10:22:41
Usually agree with most of your posts sunshine but when you have a majority foreign staff I think it's important to have someone who knows the club and the league to help them. It's not a token gesture if they are going to bring value. He looks like he has already added a couple of high level coaches aswell.
23 Oct 2025 10:47:11
Having listened to Maurice Ross during his commentary I think his knowledge of the game is brilliant and he knows our club and league. Wouldn't mind if they added him to the coaching staff and same with Steve Davis. Think both would bring strong qualities to the team.
23 Oct 2025 10:50:10
100% agree with SS couldn't give a monkeys where the coaches used to be I just want winners in there that can.
23 Oct 2025 10:50:44
Shakey thought of by who?
23 Oct 2025 10:52:48
Pc had a ex Rangers player in there how did that go? So it doesn't need to be an ex Rangers player.
23 Oct 2025 10:55:56
Common sense coops11. Will never catch on. Like the sound of that approach.
23 Oct 2025 11:16:16
St Mirren should be asked about Robinson, if he is willing to come in and be assistant, then we have got our next manager lined up.
23 Oct 2025 11:47:19
Jorg around the place makes sense, Scots connection maybe McCann, smart guy and big help for Danny in many ways.
23 Oct 2025 12:45:32
Maurice Ross is a joke, an absolute failure at Cowdenbeath where from personal knowledge he thought he was something special. He shouldn't be anywhere near this position. Neil McCann would be my preference but would be happy with Davis, Wallace or Ferguson.
23 Oct 2025 13:36:53
Lee Wallace shouldn't be anywhere near Rangers senior team.
23 Oct 2025 14:42:34
Why does Ferguson have such a push to be included as a coach at Rangers he's done nothing in coaching/ management to be anywhere near consideration in fact if you look at his management history there's enough there to say he should be nowhere near the place.
23 Oct 2025 15:54:14
What about Billy Dodds is he not meant to be a decent coach
or Stuart McCall he might shock us an bring in someone who knows our league but no connection to Rangers.
23 Oct 2025 19:39:48
I find it funny how it's the same ex players names that get banded about. Kevin Thomson lol still begging for a job.
23 Oct 2025 23:16:38
The man has took one training session, but in 3/ 4 months our European reputation is obliterated! I fear by December we could be no further forward.
What a job he's got on his hands!
24 Oct 2025 08:58:21
Id love to see Davis and Defoe in for coaches, one we all know, knows the club and league like the back of his hand. The other just proper loved the club and if his playing career was owt to go by fully understands what it takes to be part of a team and graft his arse off.
Mo Ross i wouldnae mind either.
That said, Rohl possibly wants a fresh set of eyes on things that ain't going to look at stuff through rose/ blue tinted glasses. And give our situation at the minute that's probably not a bad thing. Is Thelwell going to let him though.
21 Oct 2025 18:39:47
Didn't hear anything on assistants or coaching team at the conference. Anyone hearing anything?
21 Oct 2025 19:51:26
Think it was afterwards he mentioned '2x German coaches one for on field, one for off field and another coach with a Rangers background'.
21 Oct 2025 19:51:41
He has stated two Germans and one ex Rangers player in an interview tonight.
21 Oct 2025 21:25:12
Sounds like a good mix. Looking forward to seeing how things progress.
21 Oct 2025 23:36:35
Sorry where is this 2nd interview please John and Willie?
22 Oct 2025 06:02:23
Sascha Lense is one. Psychologist / Perofrmance coach. Was at Man Utd with Ragnick then was with Rohl at Sheff Wed. Not sure if he'll be assistant or a coach again. He's also Timo Werner's father in law.
Another German coach and a former player to come in. Lee Wallace has been interviewed.
22 Oct 2025 07:14:22
Pay on Rangers review. Allegedly you tube today.
22 Oct 2025 07:20:50
Four lads had a dream on YouTube.
22 Oct 2025 10:44:25
Can anyone shed any light on why Lee Wallace is linked? Have they crossed paths previously or has he purely linked t because he's an ex-player that is now coaching?
22 Oct 2025 11:42:14
Definitely can't question Lee Wallace's loyalty to Rangers. Could be a very good addition? Would LOVE to see Davie Weir come in some capacity also.
22 Oct 2025 12:09:51
Is it true that Raskin locked Martin out of the changing room and that's why they fell out. Only hearing it through friends involved in football, but nothing to do with Rangers.
22 Oct 2025 13:34:45
Ausbear, that was always the rumour. The senior players group asked the management to leave the changing room after the match, they weren't happy with tactics and a player "apparently" went squealing to Martin on what was said, Martin was particularly unhappy with what Raskin said and banished him.
But, that said, no one cares now, true or not, he's gone and 100% better off forgotten about.
22 Oct 2025 13:36:04
Martin should of been locked out of Ibrox along with Thelwell, his son and Stuart.
Good on Raskin if he did, Martin should have been no where near Ibrox.
22 Oct 2025 16:34:59
I thought the rumour regarding Raskin fall out was that Raskin leaked the team/ tactics to Brugge or leaked previous team/ tactics prior to games.
22 Oct 2025 18:21:54
Ally the alleged Brugge leak was after the fall out.
23 Oct 2025 11:50:00
More to the Raskin problem than we will ever know, I don't think it was Martin I think it was Thelwell who caused it. possibly thought he had him sold to Leeds and the player didn't want it, Leeds also very much in the mix with that mess.
21 Oct 2025 16:32:19
Anyone else seen the supposed 'leaked' FAB and others info from meeting with club last night?
"Last nights meeting at Ibrox with fans groups. Started with Cavenagh and Thelwell giving an overview of how Russell was recruited, they based it on his good season with Southampton where he got them promoted, lots of discussion over what they expected v what they actually got and they were pretty open in admitting they got it wrong.
Questions asked about the new manager, was he 3rd choice, why did Gerrard and Muscat walk away and how it wasn't a good look overall.
They explained that they had identified replacements but didn't begin to sound them out until they'd sacked Martin as doing so before would have been leaked, they had 5 candidates, the 3 we knew about and two others who they had been asked not to disclose.
They disputed that Gerrard and Muscat had walked away because of Thelwell and Stewart, Gerrard had initially been keen which was why he came over quickly but started to have doubts about his family as they are settled where they are, he was expected to move here quickly and didn't think it was right for his family.
Muscat was keen but wasn't coming until the Chinese season was over, he had questions over where we'd be at the point when he could come over, who would be interim etc.
They are genuinely keen on Röhl and happy with the appointment.
The question was asked over the style of play the club expected, and would the new manager play the same style as Russell, they stated that the way Russell had played wasn't the style the club wanted to play, they stated they'd had discussions with Martin over it.
They were asked about the story that Thelwell had full control over recruitment, he replied with an explanation of how it worked, the head coach will work with the DOF to identify positions that need strengthened, the DOF and his team will then go off and identify possible targets letting the coach get on with the day to day running of the team, they then sit down with the manager and a list of targets and identify the best fit for the team, they will take into account wages, transfer fees etc too but the coach will have a say on who comes in.
There was more discussion about recruitment and the data led approach being used by Hearts, we are developing our data led approach but will still be physically scouting to ensure that its not just data, but the ability to cope with the pressure of playing for Rangers.
Thelwell said that during his time at Everton he had some tough times and was under a lot of pressure, he said it paled into comparison with being "under the lights" at Rangers.
Him and Stewart were asked about the off field recruitment, in particular his son and the interim chief ops officer.
Thelwell stated that his son had forged his own career in the game, Dan Purdy had tried to take him on at Everton and he'd blocked it as he didn't think he was ready, when Purdy tried again to bring him to Rangers Thelwell said he'd thought long and hard about it as he knew it would come under scrutiny, in the end he left it to Purdy, he was apparently the best interviewed, he also said if he didn't think he was good enough he wouldn't have allowed him to come due to the pressure he mentioned before, Partick Stewart also said they were wary about it due to fan perception but they believed he was the best candidate.
Stewart went on to explain the COO interim appointment, the last person had left suddenly so the post needed to be filled, to fill it properly there was a timescale of 3 months to advertise and interview, then up to another 3 months for the person to work their notice, that process is now underway to fill the post permanently, in the meantime he found out the Man Utd guy was leaving and called him to ask him if he'd help us out until the new guy could start.
There were a few other things discussed, the bottom line agreed by all is that we need to start winning and moving forward. ".
IF this leak is accurate then I really hope Thelwell's and Stewart and Purdy are all removed, they're an embarrassment and taking us for mugs.
21 Oct 2025 17:01:15
Not leaked document that sounds like press conference i just seen.
21 Oct 2025 17:02:48
What part of this leak is taking you for a mug?
21 Oct 2025 17:04:20
Not seen this, but much of it is very similar to press conference.
21 Oct 2025 17:17:54
I smell 💩, especially over Stevie g, was he wanting a gap year before starting. think he would have sorted out home arrangements before flying over.
muscat, everybody knew he would want to finish his season and his sons appointment, an interview carried out by daddys pal and who were the other applicants, wee Jimmy from the snack bar and Barry from accounts, pair of right fannies.
21 Oct 2025 17:23:14
Isn't this literally what was just said in the manager presser. Lol all you did here was add in Gerrard family stuff and Muscat wanting to finish the season.
21 Oct 2025 17:25:34
They're going NOWHERE.
21 Oct 2025 18:01:31
Shota ask yourself this would you rather stay in Bahrain (or wherever out there) or Glasgow? All cares about is money, that's the whole reason he went to Saudi in the first place instead of going to the championship, Clement chose us over Saudi money. He's turned down other jobs apparently too according to him and I wonder why now.
Gerrard has worked under DoFs his entire management career and shopped the English market too, so I do doubt that it's down to that. Muscat is probably in the middle we wanted him in early after Celtic slipped up and Smith didn't have a complete 180 with the team to keep him interm and I believe he probably wanted players for his current team or the Asia markets and Thelwell turned his nose up at that. I believe Gerrard, Muscat and Rohl were probably all equal in the process and they went with Gerrard then Muscat to be a crowd pleaser and try to get us all on the same page. They wanted Rohl before Martin but didn't like the compensation required if the reports are to be believed.
Thelwell does need to go as there's too many coincidences with the current setup: his son and the rest having Everton connections, all only known the English market which we were not going to shop anymore apparently. Should of kept Koppen has technical director for a all round setup as he had connections everywhere and would have a more expanded backroom team.
21 Oct 2025 18:27:04
Big Nose and Baldy going nowhere, Thelwell is a useless tube and Stewart is an arrogant person.
21 Oct 2025 18:45:12
Just shows how important talking to fans actually is. I buy this story. Are the less culpable no but its maybe not the truth SG and KM walked away because of thelwel. If i'm wrong so be ut but woukd the 2 not know our policy before entering into talks?
21 Oct 2025 18:49:19
I got sent that before the press conference. I said at the time it was pretty much word for word especially regarding thelwell jr appointment.
21 Oct 2025 19:19:44
Sounds like the OP has split personality. Sounded like you were about to suggest they were reasonable responses and just before you did, you tossed a something at the board 😂.
21 Oct 2025 19:39:09
When Danny was asked directly about players and transfers, Thelwell dived in and gave it his view which was bs.
21 Oct 2025 20:03:07
I submitted this well before the presser, they're not my words, c&p job from WhatsApp.
21 Oct 2025 20:56:54
I got the same message on a reputable WhatsApp group (if there can be such a thing) at 1pm today, so give the OP a fair go here.
21 Oct 2025 21:05:18
If the reason for SG not coming was for family reasons then why would he fly in for talks? It beggars belief. "aw eh btw kids am just flying over the road to let Rangers know I'm not coming" come on man. we know it was thelwell!
21 Oct 2025 21:42:58
Doonhamer, Did that actually happen though?
21 Oct 2025 23:14:12
Doonhamer you need to clean those lugs. Rohl literally told Thelwell to go first.
No idea why you would come on hear to lie about something that didn't happen. 😭.
22 Oct 2025 07:15:21
Correct cal b rohl told Thelwell to go first.

Thelwell said to rohl you want me to go first, rohl replied, yeah you go first. The question was not directly at rohl, as the guy asking the question said, maybe you could come in on this as well to thelwell.

Did no one ask Thewell about the signing of Chermiti, his 2 goals in 3 seasons and to ask him to justify the fee?
23 Oct 2025 12:50:04
Bobby he and chairman answer the Chermeti question, there is a few interviews, it's on One release Wednesday 0700.

Press conference with Rohl, Cavanagh, Stewart and Thelwell at 3:30pm this afternoon. Should be an interesting watch.
21 Oct 2025 14:57:54
There's two pressers first one is live with Röhl, second is with Cavenagh, Thelwell and Stewart about executive performance and will be released tomorrow morning.

Just watched a little of presser, and they two stooges should be removed 😡😡😡.
21 Oct 2025 16:24:44
All meaningless platitudes designed to fob off the fanbase, pressure needs ramped up on KT and PS, the fee for Chermiti and nepotism at least should see the end for KT, allowing it to happen and previous screw ups last season should see PS removed, the new owners have a MASSIVE open goal here to gain some serious credit.

Rohl comes across really well. The more I hear about him and listen to him the more I like. The 2 numpties tho unfortunately don't look like they're going anywhere.
21 Oct 2025 19:39:18
Just watched it, actually thought they all came across well.
Really liked Rohl's approach and from what I hear he really shook things up in training today.
21 Oct 2025 22:10:53
Agree that Rohl comes across very well, looks like he's genuinely happy to be here also so that's a good start! Patrick Stewart on the other hand just looked like an angry wee man! His demeanor and tone of voice was very nonchalant and dismissive at times.
Thelwell though I thought came across quite well (surprisingly! ) he actually looked a wee bit embarrassed, a wee bit apologetic maybe. Could even say he showed a bit of empathy! Stewart though showed nothing but a total lack of.

EHL thanks for your insight as always. Are you able to elaborate at all on how he shook things up? Really interested to see how this appointment goes. Initially I was sceptical but the more I've read and learned about rohl, the more positive I'm feeling.

Will he had them running.
22 Oct 2025 07:45:49
Hahaha, that'd be a start John!
Will, lot and lots of high intensity duel based scenarios, heard it got a little bit spicy between a few players - which was part of the purpose.

Seemed to be two different pressers from what I have seen, the one with the TV and radio and one with the written press and Rangers Fan media. The second one was definitely more informative because the questioning was better, Cavenagh took the lead and was excellent in his answers, seemed quite clued up on what the problems are on field, Thelwell had a few questions to answer and I think Stewart only got involved when they were asked about Martin not going earlier.
We've got what we've got now and as Cavenagh said that he was involved in the hiring process and knew about Thelwell's son well in advance. There does not seem to be any reason why he will be sacked. We have to draw a line now and move forward and hope they all have learned from the false start under the new owners.

I watched the press conference and Rohl was the only one smiling i think he genuinely is really happy to be here, you could see it on his face. I for one am 100% behind him as the Wednesday's fans loved him and didn't want him to leave. Can only wait and see what happens!
