cmon guys, there's no chance, you would need to pay a fee as he is still under contract, plus wages would be a no go unless he's going to drop 100grand, we couldn't afford him. on a plus side its great for our teams that we are getting linked with bigger players.

If we were getting the RVP of 4 -5 years ago, that would indeed be a spectacular signing, but even if he was on the radar (currently on over £200k per week tax free, why not move to Govan? ) he is 32, he is injury prone, and has a record of falling out with managers and other players at every team he has played with.
Personally I'd give him a miss.
As for the bookies, they only lower the odds dependant on how much money is being put down in the first place. There are a lot of guys who punted a £5 at 8/ 1 on the off chance it might come true.
Personally I hope its the guy from RB Salzurg, more mobility, younger, more goals in him, and sell on value if he hits it off.

RVP rumour likely is "one man starting some chat" it's just then followed by scores of gullible folk putting thousands of pounds on it happening! Thus the bookies slash the odds (marketing/ protection move) and the media jump all over it! Remember there has been nothing from RVP'S camp suggesting a move to us. As much as I'm sure as physically possibly (without being RVP himself) that it isn't going to happen, the media publicity around it, helps raise the clubs profile!

dont think we can get a rvp and i'd be happy with just another cb think we already have goals in our team!
if we where willing to spend money on rvp why not invest in a great defender as that's the only area we are short of real quality.
