David Templeton starting and hitting the back of the net tonight. Warburton seems to be getting him back to his best? Thoughts?

Can only be good. Everybody knows the lad has what it takes.

15 Jul 2015 23:30:44
impressed by the starting line up and the positive formation I think we are 3/4 players away from having a very good squad

Agree0 Disagree3

16 Jul 2015 11:57:59
I think it's gradually taking shape it's been slow I must admit but if we do sign Halliday and Holt then there's maybe the 2 young lads from Spurs possibly arriving as well although that seems to have went quiet but if they do come I honestly don't think we are that far away from having a decent young side that could get us through till at least the January transfer window where we can strengthen again, has anyone heard anymore about Eustace I know he was trying to prove his fitness but that seems to have went quiet as well

Agree1 Disagree3

15 Jul 2015 19:53:24
So from what i've heard from the first half against ayr united, I am completely wrong about Clark. He couldn't score in a barrel full of "*****" we really do need a new striker.

You can only play the team put in front of you, and they looked good. big game next week against Burnley

Good performances from a few players who never quite cut the mustard last season though I can only assume that Nicky Clark's maw was teaching him how to play football while his dad was at work.

Agree1 Disagree1

16 Jul 2015 10:01:37
Not entirely sure why everyone is criticising Clark. Kid scored 40+ goals the season before he came to us. From what I have read about the match he seems to be getting into plenty of positions to score, and the goals will come. The game against Burnley will be a brilliant indicator as to the quality of this set up. They are a fit team with some decent players.

Agree2 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 12:27:22
It will be a real tough test for us against Burnley next week but hopefully we can put in a decent performance and take loads of positives from it to take us into our first competitive match against Hibs on the Saturday

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 15:55:44
I've been critical of Clark recently, but, having seen some of the Ayr match, I must admit he was a little unlucky at times. He does get into good positions and his effort is never in question. I'd love to be proved wrong and eat humble pie if he hits the road running, but I still have my doubts. Sorry!

Halliday starts tonight against Ayr. Holt on the bench, seems like Aird is at right back witch pretty much confirms the Wabaraa deal is dead

Believable3 Unbelievable2

15 Jul 2015 20:17:15
Not sure what formation we're playing. Is Halliday out on the right, or are we playing 3 at the back with Halliday and Aird wingbacks?
Holt just scored too

After watching highlights of hibs pre season game against Berwick Rangers and seeing scott allan score plus assist both other goals with the first assist being brilliant we need to get this boy signed up pronto

Allan should be top priority. Don't think he'll join before the cup game in 10 days against them though. Hopefully by deadline day though!

Billy McKay available at 100k, we should be all over that

Believable7 Unbelievable2

15 Jul 2015 18:35:07
I'd like to think that we would be looking at players like McKay. He would defo be a great addition to the team and would score a few goals in the Championship. A wee bit of oneupmanship over Thompson and Dundee United would also be great!

Agree4 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 14:27:45
I think that the scouting network that we have/had has caused the slow transfer movement. Once that's sorted out we'll be able to sign players with more ease, maybe january? Don't know how long it takes.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

15 Jul 2015 16:08:54

15 Jul 2015 11:49:20
Dundee United have made a bid off 100k for Billy McKay.is it just me or does any other bear think he'd be a quality signing for us? And at that price for a proven spfl goalscorer. he'd bang them in for fun in the championship surely?

Believable8 Unbelievable3

15 Jul 2015 13:21:39
Aye we all thought that about boyd.

Agree3 Disagree1

15 Jul 2015 14:01:51
I don't think we should just go buy a striker just for the sake of spending money we already have 3/4 strikers currently at the club how many do we need to try and win the championship? I personally would like to see the lad gallacher get a run in the team as so many of us have stated about youth getting a chance how can we say we need more strikers when half the strikers we do have haven't been anywhere near the team for them to be judged. i'd let the young lads play their part then come the January transfer window if need be buy one then?

Agree4 Disagree1

15 Jul 2015 14:35:11
I wanted us to keep Boyd.
I've got a bet on with someone that he'll score over 20 league goals next season.

Agree3 Disagree3

15 Jul 2015 14:52:07
Being honest I liked boyd as a player but if Warburton is going to play his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation boyd wouldn't be the type of striker we would need as he can't play upfront on his own he isn't mobile enough he is a better player with someone to play off of, kenny miller is the one that stands out as the type of striker we need hopefully some of the younger lads can learn from miller and take on board his work ethic and team play

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 16:20:17
Boyd is a fat lazy git & there's NO WAY he'll even score 10 goals in the PL, as for us having 3-4 strikers, are you having a laugh, Miller's not the same player & Clark didn't do enough last season, as for Gallagher, he's still not ready to step up on a regular basis so I would say we need another striker.

Agree3 Disagree6

15 Jul 2015 18:03:43
Derekwales just to point out we have miller, clark, galacher and hardie just to name 4 all of whom ARE STRIKERS whether they are good enough is a different matter but the school I went to that's 4 strikers meaning i'm not having a laugh just stating the obvious

Agree2 Disagree3

15 Jul 2015 19:42:51
You are having a laugh IF2015, read what I wrote, Miller isn't the same player, Clark didn't do enough last season & Gallagher IS NOT ready yet, either is Hardie, collectively, how many goals did they score between them? yeah, prolific, think before you write

Agree3 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 21:15:49
At what point in time was gallacher or hardie given a run in the team?? Hardie played one game and gallacher was farmed out to another team so given we have a new management team with a bit of coaching knowledge and a track record of working with younger players these lads should be given a chance to prove themselves at no point did I say miller or clark had to play I just stated we had 4 strikers so I don't know what you are reading all I said was miller is the type of striker we would need to use in warburtons preferred formation meaning his work ethic and team play I didn't state ot had to be him though so i'd start listening to your own advice before trying to shoot down someone for having an opinion

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Jul 2015 07:51:01
The reason Gallaher & Hardie weren't given a run in the team, is because they're not good enough FACT, from what I heard, Miller was nowhere near the squad against Ayr & Clark was terrible, you said at no point did Miller or Clark have to play so who are the 4 strikers???
it's time you thought about what you want to say, rather than just typing, time to be quiet SSSSSHHHHHHHHH

Agree1 Disagree1

16 Jul 2015 10:56:09
Hahaha I think you need to get a responsible adult to start reading these posts to you and explaining them for you as I have quite clearly stated we have at least 4 strikers at the club wether or not they are the strikers we need to do the job in the championship I don't know but how many strikers do you want??? If these guys had a bad season last year does that make them not upto the job?? So if that is the case we will be looking at a whole new team this year as non of the players where upto much last year it isn't a case of I don't rate thise two players let's just buy more that is the point i'm trying to make throwing money at things doesn't always work as we have seen in the last couple of years that's why i'm sayinng give these guys until january with the new coaching and training methods then if they are still not pulling their weight or scoring goals then by all means look at another striker but surely the money rangers have already invested in these players it would be common sense to try and get the best out of them rather than discard them after 1 bad season!!

Agree0 Disagree2

16 Jul 2015 12:07:36
Ehh? Did you even think what you were typing? "so if that is the case we will be looking at whole new team" lol we let 11 1st team players go, we ARE looking for a new team, now you're back tracking on saying we have 4 strikers at the club, whether they're the strikers to do the job in the championship, you don't know? my point is, we NEED new strikers because the ones we have are not good enough, try to keep in future :-)

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 14:01:50
So i'm taking it you are a close associate of warburtons then that you know these guys aren't good enough? i'm not backtracking anywhere i'm putting my point across that we have 4 strikers who deserve a chance to prove themselves and if they don't cut the mustard then so be it use the January transfer window to bring in a striker but until then I don't think we need to be throwing more money at players we don't necessarily need

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 14:48:36
The bottom line is, they're NOT good enough, the 4 players you mentioned don't have 20 goals between them, if we don't sign a striker or even 2, we could be too far away from Hibs by the time January comes, I wouldn't want to take that chance, would you?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 15:28:25
Personally I don't think hibs are good enough to do what hearts done last year I would like to see these guys get a chance to prove themself I think the lad clark can't be that bad he scored 30+ goals the season before joining us so he must have something about him miller is over the hill slightly but I think he can be good for the younger lads to learn from to try help bring them on and for the 2 younger lads a bit of confidence and being around the first team with new training methods and the chance to break into the team I think will help them along, so i'd give them till January and if we still look short upfront then yeah maybe then go buy another striker but i'd personally wait till then before throwing more money away that we might not need to be spending

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 08:59:03
Would love rangers to go for billy McKay looks like Dundee utd going to bid 100,000 surely worth that.proven goal scorer well worth a punt.follow follow from perth Australia

15 Jul 2015 11:49:51
If our manager wants him, this will give us a good insight into DK's intentions on spending. McKay is perfect for us and I agree with Belfast-bear on his scoring talent.

Rangers are also looking to sign midfielder Haris Vuckic who looks set to leave Newcastle this summer. The midfielder impressed on loan at Ibrox last season but the Gers face competition from Championship sides Burnley, Hull City, Bristol City and Bolton Wanderers in the battle for his signature.

Sorry. Only my second post only been on here for a week will use my own words from now on.

{Ed001's Note - cheers for that. Nice to know you like it, or are you just saying the others are even more crap than this one? lol}

15 Jul 2015 09:51:28
Gaz,I would have Vuckic back if the price was right. He's the type that could be improved and moved on for an earner.Ashley won't sell to spite King though,or he'll want over the odds.

Agree4 Disagree1

15 Jul 2015 10:03:41
Am sure it would be on a free? But think he's on 20k just now so he would have to take at least 10k drop in wages if he was to sign. I can remember watching a Rangers game last season on Rangers TV and the commentator said he spoke to him and he would love to cum on a permanent basis. I would take him but not paying over the top wages.

Agree2 Disagree1

15 Jul 2015 10:43:40
there is no chance of that happening a due to ashley b due to wages I am not to sure that he wouuld be a good signing ok certainly in championship he would be ok but for anything else he would be a bit one paced

He wasn't fully fit and the whole atmosphere around the team was terrible according to McCulloch. He was probably our best performer until the play-offs.I think he'll thrive under more positive surroundings.

16 Jul 2015 08:35:09
I agree gkk, with the system our management team are developing, get him fit and he would be a revelation.

15 Jul 2015 03:20:58
A lot of people on here seem a little bit sceptical about Dave King, they just don't seem to trust him yet.

I feel the person who is to blame for this is the new manager. When Warburton signed for Rangers he quizzed the new regime over finances, transfer funds and the direction the club was taking. But he did not ask the big Questions.

We still do not know if Dave King like Bruce Springsteen??. Let alone his other musical tastes! I for one will not sleep at night until these crucial questions have been answered!

I imagine M.W even had his meeting in the board room and wasn't professional enough to have the meeting over a few pints of Tennents down his local.

Say what you want about Coisty's managerial skills but the man knew how to Scrutinise and interrogate a CEO.

Worrying times ahead if this level of slackness is allowed to continue!

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Dunc what a load of nonsense! Mccoist never scrutinised are interrogated Charles green. Whyte, mathers are anybody else. I can't remember him asking where the money was coming from for the massive wages the duds he signed where on.are where the share rights money went. This is a man who supposedly signed his contract without reading it.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - I think you may have missed the tongue firmly in cheek nature of the post there hooly.}

15 Jul 2015 11:06:19
Thank goodness for that ed I thought he was serious lol

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I don't think even the Jeff Daniels' character from Dumb and Dumber would believe McCoist scrutinised the owners. He couldn't even read his own wage slips apparently. Bless him.}

15 Jul 2015 01:26:38
I'm excited about Rangers' prospects this coming season and believe we have to have complete faith in the management team to recruit the necessary personnel to take the club back to where it belongs. The worry for me is not whether we will sign the right players but rather whether we will have enough strength in depth to cover vital positions should we hit a run of bad fortune with injuries etc. MW has got away in the past (with Brentford) with going with a keen, lean and mean squad mix of youth and experience. Will he get away with it again? We can only hope.
