thought the attendance was a disappointment at 22344. Would have thought at least 30000+ would have weighed in considering the new management team plus so many new players on show? appreciate it was a friendly but just the same I was disappointed.
hope they start showing up when the season gets under way!!

21 Jul 2015 22:37:51
Ok let's get the negatives out the way.kiernan and Wilson caught square and ball watching at goal.slightly overplayed at times.however what I saw tonight gives me heart.tavernier,Halliday and holt were standouts.waghorn I think could be a player for us.saw enough to give me hope even though he missed a couple of sitters.thomson looks like he could slot in there too.the quick passing and moving was a joy at times.dont want to get too carried away but if that is what warburton can do in 6 weeks.ta dancer!!

21 Jul 2015 21:29:16
We might have lost (still playing, though can't see a goal) to Burnley but there's a lot of positives to be taken from tonight's game. Cohesive, confident and a passing team, the futures bright, the futures blue

{Ed039's Note - Nicky Law & Lee Wallace)
21 Jul 2015 17:47:24
Don't think Law will get a game! He will be a sub! Holt, eustace, and Halliday will be our midfield, that's if eustace is fit enough to sign! Even then if eustace doesn't sign I think either someone else will be signed for our new midfield, remember warbo likes a 4 3 3 formation, don't see were law fits into that! Tbh he isn't good enough for Glasgow Rangers! ED!
Agree3
Disagree1
{Ed039's Note - Its a long season and I think Nicky Law will get plenty of playing time over the course of it, if the team plays a new formation I think it will get the best out of Law)
21 Jul 2015 18:47:42
ed I agree nicky law is better than he has shown up to know
Agree2
Disagree0
{Ed039's Note - I also dont think Halliday will play a central role, he will play a wide attacking role which is his best position, he will also fill in at left back when needed)
21 Jul 2015 19:07:09
Ed I don't dispute that he will get game time! But I in my opinion will not be a starter,I think Warbo will sign someone just a bit more creative and consistent for that position! Law lacks consistency! Just my opinion lol
Agree1
Disagree0
{Ed039's Note - I know its your opinion, I just think that Law will see alot more game time than you think, he is a creative player and I am hoping we will see the best from him under the new manager)
21 Jul 2015 19:26:27
Fair enough ED, I'll agree to disagree with you on that!
But I have a feeling it might be Templeton that shines under Warbo! But I'm looking forward to the new style of play!
Agree1

{Ed039's Note - I agree that Temps will shine, he has not been used properly and hope that a new style of play will help get the best from him)
21 Jul 2015 20:02:18

I Don't Know If I Want Scott Allan. I'd Rather we played Andy Murdoch as I feel he may lose his place in the team if we move for him
Believable1
Unbelievable7
21 Jul 2015 16:58:26
That's football Smiler,I like Murdoch myself, but if he lost his place to Allan(if he has a place to start with) it would be in the teams best interest.
Agree5
Disagree2
{Ed039's Note - I dont see much in Murdoch to be honest, fair play he is a decent young player but there is nothing more to it for me)
21 Jul 2015 18:51:19
2 different players bit unfair to compare them. If Allan signed we would be expecting 10+ assists and goals every season, he would be our playmaker. Murdoch does a lot of dirty work.
Agree1
Disagree0
{Ed039's Note - I just dont see anything special in Murdoch, and I agree its hard to compare these 2 players, and that is not what I am doing, I think Murdoch needs to improve all aspects of his game, he gives away silly possesion, doesnt have great pace or a great range of passing, all in all quite average, thats my opinion and I know others will disagree)
21 Jul 2015 13:15:53
Cant believe people are on here still moaning about players we signed I for one am delighted to open a paper and c rangers linked with players rather than clubs wanting our or the usual bad press we have had over the last 3-4 years come on guys be happy at some point big money players are out of our reach for now our biggest signing if it happens will be scott allen let's just be satisfied for once no doubters

I think if we manage to get promoted this season we will have had a great escape. The lack of a scouting network has really impacted us badly. I don't believe for a minute this is the team we would have built with an effective one in place. I understand fully where we are and how we need to do it, but this team is uninspiring and lacks ambition, I don't care how young and hungry they are we only have these players because he knows that league and they're cheap.
For me our club is still extremely fragile, no promotion this season and we will be back to square one and potentially still no decent scouting in place. Probably all screaming for MW to be sacked and King to stump up the cash.
Make no mistake this is the biggest season in our history, potentially make or break.
I wish MW and DW all the very best, I hope they pull it off. Incidentally I think they can and will.

21 Jul 2015 12:35:13
you say these players are young, hungry and cheap, and also as manager knows these leagues. I would suggest that each of these facts are a good thing and does not necessary mean they are not very capable player, which would be wonderful compared to ast year.

These are good facts, but the question is are they good enough. Not having a scouting network may very well be the reason for not getting promoted.

Dear oh dear season not even started you've covered all the bases
You say!
1. if we manage to get promoted!
2. The team is uninspiring and lack ambition!
3. You don't care how young and hungry the players are there cheap!
4. The club is extremely fragile!
5. No promotion this year and were back to square one!
6. No scouting system in place!
7. Probably all be screaming to get the managers sacked!
8. This is the biggest season in the clubs history its a make or break season
9. You hope we can pull it off
10. Finally you say incidentally I think we can pull it off .
Well at the end of the season you can certainly turned round and say told you so, you'll get at least one correct, we've not even played a serious game yet! You've written all this then said we can do it!!

I think we might get Stevie May in a loan deal, if the manager wants him. Similarly, if he wants McKay, an offer will be made.
The way the manager is going about his business is impressive. He just proceeds, without much fuss, and sets about getting his targets, that are needed to suit HIS system.
To date, he has conducted himself well and with the support of the board we will be just fine on the park. Onward and upwards.

Ok I'm going to put this out there!
I am against us signing Scott Allan this season when he's a free next season.
The team as it is will win the championship. Although I do think we need 1 or 2 more.
We would be better saving or using the £800k elsewhere. Allan would be a guaranteed starter all season in the championship for hibs and this would give us more room to develop current stock.
