I would like to see Scott Allan at Rangers but is he really as good as people are saying? He is a stand for Hibs but he is playing in the Championship against a few part time teams not the SPL

He is not worth more than £300,000 if any team can get him for FREE come January

Does anyone have any info on Eustace? Seems to have gone quiet, seem to here so many people on here saying we are desperate for a creative midfielder. I disagree, with Holt being signed and hoping Warburton gets the best out of templeton and Law I think it's imperative we bring in a tough tackling holding midfielder with experience who can help the likes of Holt, Halliday, Murdoch, Thompson in two ways.
1. Someone to do the donkey work so they can concentrate on creating chances.
2. A bit of experience in the midfield who has been there and done it to help the younger lads progress as players.

Personally from what I've seen and read from derby and watford fans Eustace is just the man do this job for us, a job that hasn't been done properly for a couple years at rangers.

All football teams need the fans to buy tickets and kits to make money to pay for the team wages it's a business that has to make money to stay in business

i saw that one too. He sounds like a similar sort of player to Eustace. Not sure if it is just paper talk as he is same position as we are looking at and Brentford. DM say he is free to leave but the manager was in Brentford press this week saying he might be cpatain this season so not sure

DK interview on SSN not saying much!

Believable2 Unbelievable3

22 Jul 2015 16:47:24
DK said one thing which justifies what I've always been saying about him:

"Rangers football club will only be number 1 in Scotland again when the Rangers fans start outspending the Celtic fans. If the Rangers fans stop doing that or continue to withhold funds Rangers will never be as big as Celtic."

In other words, "get yer wallets oot because I'm no payin"

22 Jul 2015 18:06:54
You aren't quoting very well there Expat. It was to do with retail. We want a football team that can provide for itself. The only way to have that is to buy season tickets first. And then buy retail.

He's just needs to be heard to be telling the fans we need to dig out and buy the merchandise if we get the deal renegotiated which he is meeting Ashley for soon. Which is all true, if we do get a new deal and we want to compete with Celtic again over time we must outspend them like we used to do, he's saying the right things before he goes in to negotiations

At last you are starting to get it that the fans will be the cash-cow once again. So much for his over investment (1.5 million LOAN). Sky paid for Jim whyte to go interview DK in South Africa (a waste of time!). What King said is exactly right. Merchandise is a huge part of a club's lifeblood. And if we want to be successful again then we have to get to a point where the fans are buying merchandise again. What he also said was that the current deal is not good for Rangers and with the current situation ie boycott, it can't be good for Sports Direct either. Therefore he believes a renegotiation of the terms would be beneficial to both parties. I would love to see the back of MA to be honest but if that's not going to happen and the club can renegotiate a substantial difference in the terms then I would be prepared to start buying again.

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Jul 2015 13:35:57
parky,

Since the club have to make up any shortfall in the amount sold at "near retail" price, then it bothers Ashley not one bit how few are sold. He gets the money anyway.

Rangers continue to get 7.5% of the money from every shirt sold, so we'd have to buy 4 times the shirts each to match what Celtic get from their retail deal.

The idea of us being able to "outspend" Celtic fans in retail alone is ridiculous, but unfortunately it's not the most ridiculous thing King has said.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Jul 2015 15:35:06
How does Ashley get his money??if there aren't any shirts sold he gets nothing.if it comes to it I will donate £50 to the club rather than give that fat pie munchin greasy face I'd love to kick in a penny!

Still lots of clever work to be done

So far, impressed with Halliday, Tavernier and Wilson

We definitely need a creative midfielder and a great finisher!

I'm sure if we get a good quality striker in the door then there will be enough quality and competition to push for a place in partnering him

Early days and hopefully once the team gel all players will impress and fight for a places

Impressed with the attention to detail showing by Warburton e.g having trackers on the players

Little things like this are so crucial for shaping the team

Lots more work to do but happy giving the fact it is the first proper game together

All in all, I think Warburton has brought in a good mixed blend of players, considering we are playing in the Championship

Those players will have to go out and prove to Mark Warburton of why he took an interest in bringing them to Rangers F.C

We need to push out the boat and go buy a creative midfielder and most undoubtly a quality finisher!

We have enough competition upfront on our books for to see who works best with a new quality finisher!

Early days, but I for one am excited to see how it all comes together.

Along the way, there will always be room for improvement and there will be players that will be surplus to requirement, so every player will want to prove successful from here on, in this exciting chapter :-)

Don't know what his wage would be but it wouldn't hurt to have a look at Aleksandar Tonev from Aston Villa since their manager is trying to get rid of him didn't have the best of spells at Celtic but if we can get him on his game I think he would tear it up here, possibly a loan deal with a fixed fee for next summer if we wish to make it permenant?

Was at the game last night, and with the comments on this overall mixed feelings from most fans. Tempo dropped second half expect that tho. But overall ball recession was generally pretty good I know you can't be that crucial due to it being a pre season friendly but that Burnley side are by far better than any team in our league this year. Hibs without Allen are nothing. No doubt better looking than last season as it wouldn't be hard due to last years squad being full of absolute garbage, too put it nicely. Personally think we need a few flair players. Playmaker behind the striker or a couple of tricky wingers. Don't think templeton aird McKay Walsh have got that spark even at this level never mind premier league. Big striker also needed in my opinion.

22 Jul 2015 13:29:20
Good performance yesterday I for one couldn't get to Ibrox, recently broke my arm, so travelling was too much and I can't drive just now

It was watched for £5.99 on RTV

More positives that negatives to be fair

This Burnley team for one have played together and only just dropped out the top flight of England

There was no stark difference between the two teams Rangers were better in the first half hour and Burnley got to grips after quite a cheap goal conceded

When Rangers had opportunities, it was evident to see that they badly need more penetration, directness!

That creative player in midfield was missing, to carve open defences with acute clever passing, hard to find in our game but the best ones I can think of off the top of my head, for sheer value in our game today would be both Ryan Gould and Scott Allan, with the latter being a possibility

Don't want to be too critical of Waghorn as he has just come in the door! It is obvious that he is not an out and out striker. Not at all clinical for sure! What I will say is that he has a decent workrate

We badly need a finisher and I'm sure we can pick a decent partner with that finisher out of remaining forwards we have already on the books

Still think we need a star midfielder as mentioned (above) and a quality finisher

We may need to push the boat out a little bit to find those type of players

All in all, I am happy with the performance these boys still have to gel together so they will get better

All players have to do their bit for the team

Players impressed with so far:

James Tarvnier, Danny Wilson and Andy Halliday

================================

Mark Warburton and Co are on the right track to success Impressed that he had the trackers on the players, those ideas and the reasoning behind it make the difference!

Everything down to a tee will make a difference, when all come together e.g players behaviours, (no energy sappers) sports science, dieting, proper hi-tech training, (may that involve one touch to half touch football if Mark Warburton can pull in another coach or someone that can help him adapt that style unless he has got the know how himself)

Most importantly we require a Hi-tech scouting network, which I'm sure is being put in place

Keep up the good work

In Mark Warburton

22 Jul 2015 14:47:15
I think all Waghorn needs is a decent run of games which he hasn't got the last few years, he gets into the right positions just sometimes the final ball went astray but that will improve the more they play with eachother and know their playstyle I reckon after a few games hel start getting a good goal tally but yeah I agree with the creative midfielder from the centre if we get Allan which is a possibility considering how quick we've been with our business after we enquire about players there's a slight possibility it could happen as soon as Friday if you got him playing well creating through the middle it opens it up more for McKay and Templeton to exploit there which I think would rip a lot of defences apart this season

First of all decent performance last night but the forward players were a slight concern. I was surprised to see Halliday playing the holding role although he played well to be fair but I'd thought he was more of a wide player. We can't rely on Temps or Barrie McKay, neither has any end product at the best of times and we have very few options. Tom Walsh looked good when he came on but I'm not sure he'll be a starter. Personally I would spend on wide players before Scott Allan although I'd still like/expect to see him join.

Thoughts?

Awe cmon. give the two guys a break.one game and already folk on here wanting temps and McKay out.yes sometimes it never came off for them but I saw enough last night if given a run in the team they will get a bit more confidence.the ones I worry about are the friggin FANS.some fans really need to winde their necks in and SUPPORT the team.read warburtons managers bit in the programme.we need to be patient and stick together.also forget vuckic.he is not the type of player who will fit into this style of play so please stop mentioning him!

Really disappointed with the set up tonight with pay at the gate, total joke man, never got into the game until 27 minutes into it, and other folk probably didn't get in until well after half time, game was ok considering we played all the news boys against a decent settled team, coming from a better league, a draw or rangers win would've been a fair result, the new boy at right back looked a decent wee player, and that boy hardie looked great when he came on, thought the keeper was a bit edger to release the ball as soon as he touched it, plus this might sound daft, but a thought if we went route one a couple times, we might've got a goal, played to much football, but it was a decent work out!!

I agree op got to the game with 20 mins till kick off got to the turnstile stated on my ticket only to be told I needed to join what can only be described as the biggest line of people I've ever seen as the gate I went to was for smart card users only I managed to get in to the game missing the first 15-20 mins which i'm told was our best 20 mins of the game there was 3 turnstiles but only 1 of them was in operation it was a bit shambolic given the fact the attendant at the smart card gate was sitting doing practically nothing as there was hardly anyone using the gate they were working at
