Craig mulholland head of the rangers academy at murray park has said in an interview that steps have already been taken to completely change the coaching & infrastructure at murray park, mulholland goes on to say that rangers have chosen the german model to implement ahead of the spanish(tiki taka) style & the dutch style, the german style will be instilled in the coaching of every player at every age group & level within murray park, the german model & philosophy is a very good structure to adopt as there ain't much wrong with the german style of football & coaching, I personally think it's a very good move by us to implement the german way

Do we then assume Felix Magath may be involved?

Well he has been in talks with us, is unemployed and is not seen as a potential manager so the only thing left is said position.

Director of football (sporting Director)

However you want to call it. Just seen an article that was for this position. Said the one man band was outdated and exampled Southampton and Barcelona for success stories. Are you yay or nay on this? if so. why?

Nay for me L3mster, one guy to run the show football wise.
Too many cooks n aw that. That way there is no over-ruling or undermining.I suppose if a manager wants to seek an older head, or someone he respects advice fair enough, but just 1 boss for me.

Quite like the idea sometimes we need to accept change it'll let the coach concentrate on coaching and developing the future stars and first team with double training sessions every day

I tend to agree with you bongo, we're too afraid of change at times, why not give the technical director system a chance if indeed we go down that route, as dave king & paul murray said when they gained control, its a coach they're looking to appoint as opposed to a manager, stuart mccall can certainly coach and if someone like felix magath was to be appointed as the new rangers technical director it could be a good thing as far as I'm concerned, magath could restructure our murray park youth academy from top to bottom thus allowing mccall to concentrate solely on coaching & moulding the first team with team choice & tactics with the final say on signing players totally with mccall

I was a nay untill I read the article and it makes sense. The the manager will always have total control of the team, tactics and training. But the technical director would oversee the scouting department, analysis, academy, medical and recruitment. He would work alongside the manager but the manager would always need to be in agreement about singungs.how can one man do all this without making mistakes? Carry out all tasks equally? I would like to see this in place but they would have to work in tandem.

The sporting director would enforce a football philosophy of based on the German model which they are currently doig at Murray park just now. We would have youngsters ready to play first team football in the exact same system.

Barcelona put this in place in the 90s and along came the likes of fabregas, Xavi, iniesta etc and they will keep rolling off the production line, the manager of Barcelona works with the director to bring in players. I don't see how it couldn't work at rangers

Apart from the £2.6m loss just reported for the six months to 31st December 2014, it now transpires that Rangers have to pay Ashley & Newcastle United £500,000 if we get promoted! Is there any level of corruptness that the last Board wouldn't stoop to? Surely prosecutions must follow once the current regime have finished digging and delving. Disgusting! The old Board also failed to announce that the auditor, Deloitte, had told them they would be resigning. We must stick behind the new Board and stop carping about things and give them the time to do what they said they would do. .

For all the people that thought Cashley would have been good for Rangers just look at Newcastle .in the richest football league in the world but they are still over £100million in debt. We are not in a bed of roses I do admit but I truly believe our new set up at Ibrox will get us back there and the superb fan base we have will contribute to that.
I now feel sorry for the Newcastle fans who are stuck with Cashley.

Stay away from his shops don't buy anything from his retail outfits I've spent in the region of £400 at other places and he's not getting my money and I don't mean Rangers gear! Only thing we can really do! Being a pest outside his outlets didn't really work.

To all my fellow 'gers fans, what do you think of our chances against hearts at ibrox on sunday in what is a very important game as our push for 2nd place is gathering a helluva lot of momentum now thanks to our manager stuart mccall who has transformed the rangers players, I really do fancy us to beat hearts at ibrox on sunday and now go on to secure 2nd place in the championship and eventually promotion to the premiership this season which is again testament to what stuart mccall is now doing as rangers manager, your thoughts please abd what's your take ed?

It will be a tough game, but with new found belief, we should be confident going into it. If they continue to play as they did in last few games, should certainly not lose.

not sure if we will win on sunday, but I don't expect us to get beat. thought our performane against hibs was better than at home last weekend!!

31 Mar 2015 10:58:19
Jr) I think the outcome of Sundays game will very much depend on the frame of mind of the newly crowned champions, there is absolutely no pressure on them, and although SM has us organised and playing better, we are still vulnerable at the back and have shipped silly goals against teams struggling at the foot of the table, Hearts are in a different league literally now, and there speed and there creativity will give mcculloch and whoever partners him dizzy spells, I hope they're still hungover and we can put one over them that really would be the boost to carry us on to securing second and then promotion.

{Ed001's Note - Ed039 isn't about and I was just putting it up so others could answer. I don't know enough about the two teams to have a decent opinion on it.}

" Hearts in a different league ", give me a break. Rangers under McCall are a better team than them. A victory for us is going to happen and the faith the new manager is showing in youth is a breath of fresh air. I've said before, McInnes but have seen the light and hope McCall gets selected irrespective of promotion.

It's a battle of 2 manager he outwitted Stubbs now let's see if he can do it against nielson hearts aren't a great side(by no means are us) but if our shape is right and we are willing to commit then we have a good chance

Think Rangers have a fair chance of a win. Hearts already have the title, Rangers have more to prove and more at stake. I'd say McCall is in the early stages of finding a balance with what he has at his disposal player wise. Think it's a bit of a leap to say he's totally transformed the players but when you consider how truly awful they were I suppose you have a point.
Realistically though I think Hearts are a very different prospect to Hibs and it'll be a tougher game. Still winnable though
