THE commission probing Rangers' alleged undisclosed payments to players will hold procedural hearings next week.

The SPL announced the independent panel would sit for their first two days.

A statement read: "The Scottish Premier League today announced that the independent commission to inquire into alleged EBT payments and arrangements made by Rangers in relation to players during the period from 2000 until 2011 will sit on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 September.

"The hearing will be chaired by Lord Nimmo Smith and will consider submissions from parties on various procedural matters.

"It will not be a hearing of the merits of the case."

The three-man group, which also features Charles Flint QC and Nicholas Stewart QC, will eventually decide whether Rangers broke SPL rules regarding payments made through their controversial Employee Benefit Trust scheme.

The payments are also the subject of a tax tribunal, which is yet to be decided.

The tax tribunal will have no impact on the current Ibrox regime, who bought the assets and business of the soon-to-be-liquidated club.

But the SPL probe could lead to Rangers being stripped of league titles, although there are more than a dozen other potential sanctions.

When's Brown going to tell all what Green told him?

Agree5 Disagree1

John Brown is just another knuckle dragger who has not got a clue.He should leave thing's to the intelligent people.
Tam

Agree5 Disagree2

Bomber will be down the boozer or the amusements playing the one arm bandits. Hoping to win more money to add to the whopping £40,000 he promised to invest in Newco!

Ed, not a rumour just an observation.
If im right in thinking our ban ends on 1st september 2013 if we do our homework now there is no reason the ban will not be such a hardship.
My thoughts are this: identify now players out of contract next summer, agree pre contract deals with them. Allow their contracts to expire with their current clubs and sign them as free agents on September 1st! Saves transfer fees for a start, and im sure there would be a number of class acts available. Any thoughts?

Ballymena Jason. {Ed039's Note - Rangers can sign players, they just cant register them until next September, so technically, Rangers can sign out of contract players now (silly I know, just speaking hypothetically) but just wouldnt be able to register them to play. Pre contract agreements can only be signed 6 months prior to players contract expiring, therefore even if a player was out of contract next summer you wouldnt be able to offer them terms until 6 months prior)

I live down south now and many fans down here think we have been treated harsh however i tell them we take what we have been dealt and rise above it and we will rise again to the top with the following and loyal supporters most clubs would kill for.

Quick question ed
Do you know if Rangers will visit Corby for there annual friendly ?{Ed039's Note - I dont think know, there are a few things that wont be the same)

Believable7 Unbelievable14

Its good to hear that there are still fans of your club that are like you, for if others would do the same and leave this hate and dislike and wtv else they come up with then ppl will look at your club different then they do now. Ppl don't understand that there have not been any punishments, there has only been dealings for a newco company to enter a football league and dealings for the former club going into administration. The punishment would be after the double contracts and big tax case for breaking rules, but the sfa just like now will try and make it as little as possible.

No theres a lot of scots down there i was married there in february 1971 and my daughter was born in kettering august 1971 lol doug t.s.o

Agree4 Disagree0

So the guy can see his team, maybe he can't afford to come up to Glasgow. Just because you can't get to every game don't mean you ain't loyal.
Tam

Agree2 Disagree0

Corby and kettering being mentioned reminds me of my youth, i actually trained with corby town as a kid good club that deserves a friendly with us i hope we still play them. Corbys a crazy little town with all the scots quite surreal in the middle of england, i played against many teams from corby and i will always remember my english teammates bricking it before we played them. I relished it, it felt like playing football in scotland and was the most enjoyment i ever had on a football pitch. Good times

When will certain bears get tired of slagging off a faithful servant to our club?

And remember kirk did something that the likes of the Gazzas, Laudrups and even Ally McCoist never managed to do... He represented the club in a major European final.
