lee wallace a transfer target for aston villa.paul lambert looking to add the left back to squad for between £1.5 to £2 million.he is also looking at carlos bocanegra but vancouver whitecaps are also back looking at him.we should let both go and try to bring sasa papac out of retirement.offer him year on year contact's.he would cost nothing and can play left back and cover for center half.go business bringing in money and letting 2 high earners go.

Jimmy Calderwood & Jimmy Nicholl have been sounded out by Charles Green about succeeding Ally as The Rangers second management team.
Green wants to use the appointment to scale down the back room staff to be more in line with Division 3.
The deal will be structured as a "contract for life" should Calderwood lead the newly formed club to 3 successive promotions. Giving Calderwood long term job security upto his 65th birthday and possibly beyond.

This is a positive move lets DO IT NOW and get Ally out, Durrant out, Ex-Celt Kenny out and bring in Billy Dodds too...............

Where are u hearing calderwood as next rangers boss
Agree0

I think these are the people to take us up through the leagues.
Agree0

That would be a brilliant appointment. Get some Rangers men from the old days who will bring back the feeling like the old club.If Rangers die I'll be losst. Sorry Ally. your a legend but that was with the old club.
Agree1

Had heard this in June but went all quiet.Could do a lot worse.Alistair has got to go,he's nothing but a thug in a suit. Some of his comments have been deplorable and his results (last season too) haven't cut the mustard. He should jump before he's pushed.

Happy 65 jimmy but not at the gers

Calderwood & nicholl, bad move.calderwood is too old.we do need a new manager as super ally has not got it.i expected more from a man who learned from one of the games great`s.having been under walter smith for so long i though we would be tacticly strong but he is the opposite.i think we should start looking abroad for a new manager, someone young who can use the next 3 years to learn the scottish game but can also bring a new look to the game.maybe an italian or spanish manager, someone with a big name, just starting out who can attract players to the club to build for the future.now is the time to bring new life to the club.ally will always be a hero to us but the guy just does not have what it takes as a manager.
Agree0

Bring back paul le guen he should be able to get a result in the lower leagues

I'll be sticking with Ally! He is the only one who stood by the club throughout this whole saga. I'm disgusted by some of you so called rangers fan's. I think glory hunters is a more fitting term. We will get better and Ally will take us to the top again. There will be the odd hickup but I'll stick by him like he stuck by us. tut tut tut some of you lot are disgracefull!!!
Agree0

And the silly season begins
Agree0

Come on guys, let Ally get a settled squad before you start to jump on the get ally out bandwagon! We are 3 games into the the season with a squad that is still changing every game, Ally needs a bit of time to get a settled starting 11 before we start jumping the gun!
I agree 2 draws in our first 3 league games is no-where near good enough, but we are not the kind of club that doesn't give our managers the best possible chance at succeeding!
Ally deserves at least some time to get it right after all he's put himself through for the sake of the club!
He fought tooth and nail for our players and for the club, he is a true Rangers man which is more than i can say for the people on here calling for him to be sacked already!
Agree0
Disagree0
Have I missed something ... 3 games played one win two draws unbeaten .. New team players have had no warm up games just bounce games here and there it'll take time for the team to gel ... Leave ally alone why the clamour for his head , once the players cross that line it's up to them !!

Why does the manager have to had played for Rangers. There are lots of forward thinking young coaches out there. If that desparate to get rid of McCoist, why not give one of them a chance.

At last kirk broadfoot is in discussion with rangers about leaving the club. Not good enough for rangers and will be glad now to see cole or perry get a chance
Believable53

Did U watch the game on sun?? Perrys positional sense is terrible and he can't tackle. Add to that he is slow! What have U got? Kirk broadfoot again! Haha

Where is that info on kirk brodfoot?
Agree0

Hegarty/Cole or Argyriou might be ahead of Perry for a start at R.B.

Really did you not see how perry played he gave the play away more times than he passed the ball :@:@ broadfoot is well better

Seen that the guy tried for us, his qualities were limited had a great game against man utd a couple years ago apart from that. Good luck Kirk.

Agree0

Yet again big kirk gets it in the neck, ok he is not everyones cup of tea but at least he gives 110% & I think it shows your knowledge also because perry is a centre half & cole won't play because the greek boy will play right back
NTYABOW
Agree3

The only problem is.....Perry and Cole are torture...especially Cole on loan to Partick last year and left out of their squad he's unfortunately 'no good'
Agree1

Damn shame. The big man will be missed. Wish there was more like him at 'the Rangers'.
Agree3
Disagree0
What planet are the 6 unbeleivable ?
Agree0
Disagree0
Feel a bit sorry for the boy as like all other rangers teams there has always been a scapegoat. He has tried his heart out most time he has played and done himself proud with his attitude most of the time. However i must admit his last couple of games have angered me with his less than enthusiastic performance but could say that about the whole team. Not the most skillfull of players but think he at least would have tried to get forward on sunday.Good luck to him wherever he goes because hes been a good servant to the club, just a shame it seems he,s been hounded out .
Agree0
Disagree0
Have to say in the modern game puting centre halfs at full back is no use.Perry is a good option for the middle but please do not play the boy at full back again.Good defensively but offered nothing going forward apart from lump balls up the park missing out the midfield completely.nothing wrong with the young guys getting their chance but down to mccoist to stop playing guys out of position and maybe then we will see some shape in the team.
Agree0
Disagree0
They'll probably make him our highest paid player to stay
Agree0
Disagree0
It was perrys first game in god knows how long, give him a break. Why do we always pick one player to pick on all the time. It was charlie adam for years, played great all game then made one bad pass then the whole crowd turned on him. Kirk broadfoot, craig moore, edu, bo anderson, amoruso need I go on? How do we expect players to relax and play their best with the crowd just waiting for one slip up before they turn on them and give them worse abuse than the opposition players.GET BEHIND THE TEAM AND STOP SLAGGING THEM OFF
Agree0
Disagree0
Now on sky very close to leaving.
Agree0
Disagree0
Quite incredible the lack of knowledge so many have. Perry is a centre half and a very bad one at that. To say he should be playing at right back is embarrassing. Is that the best we can do. Let's stop playing centre halfs at fullback and for the first time in years could we get 2 attacking fullbacks who can play football. It's not hard.
Agree1
Disagree0
Big kirks a honest guy lay off fellow bears
Agree1
Disagree0
I agree the guy has never been above his station always tried his heart out, and done well for the limited talent he had so good luck to him. Perry was awfull against Berwick but that is 1 game. Before all this happened he came in every now and again and done well against SPL clubs and now because he had one bad game everone is slagging him, youngsters need games in order to improve and that game will have been a lesson for him so he will already be learning, and now its a case of seeing his response, he may well have a good game in his next outing, fact is he is a centre back playing right back give him a break.
Agree0
Disagree0
If he's not good enough for the SFL 3rd Division what on earth was he doing for years at the club in the first place ??

Broadfoot out yes but perry not at right back

I think the general concensus is not looking for anybody to lose their jobs but more a concern about the approach to a game. As I keep trying to say, pick a dominant centre half and let him control the back 3/4/5, have a midfield who are happy on the ball with a bit of muscle. Also play with pace and width up front. Always remember the game is FOOTball and not LAUNCHball or AERIALball. Keep it simple and let ability take control but to do this we need to pick a team with the basics, not superstars just footballers.

Try telling all of this to our tactically naive manager. ally won't last the season cause there will be more results/performances like the one against berwick. all this ally we're behind u nonsense is just ridiculous, he is not good enough to manage rangers- before u all start(yes i am a rangers supporter)
Agree1
Disagree2
Yes its football but to achieve what we would like, we need a manager with technical and tactical ability but im afraid ally has neither .
Agree0
Disagree1
Totaly agree with u mate hes not good enough to be rangers manager and am also a gers man
Agree0
Disagree0
Agreed, he just does not have it as a manager when it comes to tactics, got us pumped out of europe in quick time last season twice and blew a 15 point lead he was handed. He is a legend but he needs to go as he has no experiance , this will be harder than the spl. Billy Davis for me
Agree0
Disagree1
Totally agree guys,
ally mcoist record as rangers manager is abysmal!!!
not sure who to replace him with but im sure charles green already has a few names in mind
Agree0
Disagree1
Say what you want about Ally but he is well like from Other Clubs, Media etc. He has stuck by us! We need to be looking at coachess. We already have a better squad than most other teams. Time to make them earn their wages! RTID!
Agree0
Disagree1
Totally agree wi op. we should be passing teams off the park not playing like a pub team. Its a disgrace. Respect ally lots as a player and a diehard rangers fan...but unfortunately his tactic managerial skills look pretty poor. Dont want him sacked not at all, but he has to change, and learn fast or be replaced. We have a huge gulf on quality compared to fellow teams and we should be taking a leaf out liverpools/rodgers book and get good possession football back at ibrox as its been missing for years. We have plenty time so why not start now
Agree0
Disagree0
Not good enough to manage Rangers, what about good enough to manage The Rangers?
Agree0
Disagree1
Ally should be given some sort of honourary role at the club for his playing but more importantly for keeping the fanbase together during our recent transition.
With regards management I never thought he would cut it and and had that pretty much confirmed within a couple of months of last season but I was happy to let him oversee the demise if neil Lennon.
Unfortunately he could not see this through despite a massive advantage and all that saved him was our crisis.
BUT despite all that had we not had him around for the last 6 months I fear for what might have happened to our unity.
As such time for Charles Green to do the right thing byboth Ally and the club and get him into a role that suits his unique skills with the support and bring in someone who has a bit of a track record in management.
Derek McInnes or Frank DeBoer would be my choice.
Agree0
Disagree0
Pass teams off the park? Play with width?
We don't have players to do that anymore.
We may have experienced internationals but we need a midfield playmaker.
Big Jig and Ian Black are holding midfielders and hardly have the creative passing skills of a Ray Wilkins.
Our two so called "wingers" are young boys being asked to do a man's job against seasoned defenders who are going to be well up for us coming to visit their grounds. Young players are notoriously inconsistent.
The one point i will agree with is to wait and see what players the manager goes for. We need players in the mould of an Aluko,a Davis, and Whittaker.
People who can beat a player, see a pass, and get a goal out of nothing. Personally i don't rate Sandaza or Kyle both of them look like carthorses. We need pace as well as height up front.
Give the manager another 3 or 4 games and see who he brings in,then we'll know if he's upto it or not. It's too early to be pressing the panic button bears,it takes time for a team to gel and gain confidence. "Follow - Follow".
P.O.B.
Agree0
Disagree0
I hate to say this, but I agree with many of the previous posters.
I coach a boys U-18 team, and we teach a passing game. Other teams in our league play "kick and run". Terrible football.
I explain to my boys that any time they hoof the ball upfield, they have a 50-50 chance, at best, of retaining possession.
This is exactly the way the Gers play. It began last season, and is just as bad against Third Division teams.
Enough is enough, Ally! Keep the ball on the ground FFS!!
Agree0
Disagree0
I have to agree that Ally doesn't seem to have the experience to change a game. He seems to be still stuck in the negative, defensive tactics of Walter. Defend and hoof the long ball to the forward with no help. Saying that, at least he's going with more than one up front and I also feel that we have lost so many players, signed new players who need to gel, playing in an alien league at very different grounds against very different opponents. So, let's just give Ally and the team time to get to grips and get used to things eh? Afterall we don't want to sound like the other mob, who only sing when they're winning and when things are going their way! Let's not turn into moaning-faced, paranoid, insecure henchmen like them. Let's get behind Ally and the squad and continue to show our support and the rest of the world, that it's infact
Agree0
Disagree0
ally as much i adore the guy, as a manager he's not my cup of tea. the football is shocking and i predict that many of our first team players will be exposed even in the third division as they are that bad.

He got dropped for the first home game of the season and tweeted something like.
FK this sitting on the bench in this league. I am outta here.
Or something of that nature, Ally heard/read this and gave him his marching orders.
Well done Ally, if he is not willing to work tell him to bugger off.
100% behind the manager on this one.

I posted this and wonder why the guy who says j mcmillian is his cousin why are you being so abusive im only posting what i have been told
Agree0

This is correct. Mccoist has told him he is unlikely to get much game and the younger lads have jumped in front of him in the Q. The pars have offered him a contract tho he hopes to join Partick Th before the window closes
Agree0
Disagree0
Im only being honest here, Kyle Hutton is a slugger! No creativity whatsoever, average passer of the ball, doesn't have any goals in him from midfield and is actually quite slow. Doesn't move the ball quick enough either. His only positives are he will dig in and that he thrives on the physical side of the game. He's decent in the air swell and a big Rangers man. To sum up, not what we need. We are lacking in creativity in midfield when Shiels in missing and if his attitude is not right then Ally is better off showing him the door.
Agree0

Kyle Hutton deserves a chance a good tackler and passer of the ball.

Obviously not a season ticket holder for the last few years then?! Young Huttin was coming thru well and had some sound games for Gers when he played. Bearing in mind these games were with the so called big team and superstars! Now he's not getting a shot. If he goes, would be a big mistake in my opinion. The guy has potential and deserves a chance in div 3!
