Rangers creating lack of chances for their strikers:-
In there last game, Hearts beat Livi 2-1.
10 shots on goal.
5 of these chances fell to Shankland ( 50% ) .
3 on target. 2 off target.
1 goal.
The last time Rangers played Livi they beat them 2-0.
18 shots on goal.
4 of these chances fell to Dessers ( 22% ) .
3 on target, 1 blocked.
1 goal.
What makes people think that if Shankland is joining Rangers he is going to get more opportunities in front of goal?
Or that he will suddenly become the focal point of our attack?

Time for the board to back the manager and sign a striker.

I believe if the right striker becomes available the board will back PC, they realise this guy is the real deal as a manager, his recruitment at other clubs seems very sensible.

You can dress it up anyway you want Dessers won't win us the league. No conversation its just as simple as that. All these nonsense posts are just to cover up the lack of transfer activity. Everyone on here agreed we needed starters signed and nothing has changed.

You are entitled to your opinion, Herbert. Whether I think you have posted nonsense or not.
But Rangers will win the league this year?⚪️?.

Signing one player is unlikely on its own to win us the league, indeed every signing is a risk with no guarantees so certainly not an easy decision for any manager. The problem that we have is the number of players that we have signed over the years that have been no where near the quality we need to give us a better than 50:50 chance of success both in Scotland and in Europe.
For me, we need to strengthen at the back, in particular at centre back, we need a wide midfield player and we need a top quality striker. We also need to offload a number of players that are either reaching the end of their career or were never good enough in the first place. Thankfully we will be able to get rid of some of them in the summer since they will be at the end of their contract.

Herbert I don't think everybody on here ever agrees on anything football related.
Where we all come together is in offering sympathy or best wishes to people who are struggling or when we lose a fellow bear.

Tattie you keep posting these stats between shankland and dessers. according to you they have around the same shot to goal ratio, miss as many chances as each other, according to your stats they are the same player, except one small minor detail shanks has double the goals.
Shankland 18 goals in 28 games
Dessers 9 goals in 30 games.
It's starting to become embaressing to try compare them.

what made people think mcoist would score lots of goals

how about boyd or colin stein? mo johnston maybe, miller,

ridiculous question spud, the reason folk think he may be the focal point, and may get plenty chances is very simple

he would get plenty chances, he's a couple of miliion fgs, not billions

thats not me saying he absolutely will score plenty, but i would gladly bet on it.

Herbert you can dress it up anyway you like but one player won’t win us the league. If we did sign shanks which we won’t he will not guarantee us the league.

TT, oh for a Colin Stein, a Mo Jo or a McCoist, all exceptional players but, I doubt that any of those players on their own would make the sort of difference that we need in order to win the League this season, (perhaps Colin Stein, who had the ability to take on and beat players, score with his head or his feet, could, but then I am biased as an all time Stein fan) . Both McCoist and Maurice Johnston had the benefit of playing in a team full of quality players. McCoist had the benefit of Hateley, which was significant.
We are a long way short of that quality in the squad these days, Butland and possibly Tav, excepted, none of the current squad would be near the first eleven (in my opinion), and unless there is a fundamental change in our squad and the quality of player recruited I don't see it changing.

Got to agree someone of Steins ability would make all the difference, but at that time he had decent wingers supplying him. oh for a willie Johnston or tommy mclean.
