Could we get Danny ings on a short term deal?
Financially is it viable.

If so he’s an upgrade on shankland.
Out of picture at West Ham, linked with wolves and few championship clubs.

He might fancy crack at Europe and a title challenge if we can offer £40k a week and pay a loan fee this would be a crucial signing.

Just a suggestion if who we should or could target outwith the usual rumours.

Certainly a better option for me than Shankland if we could get him at a reasonable cost. I simply wouldn't give hearts what they are reputedly looking for for Shankland.

Problem is Stevie all of these short term deals means we're back to square one in the summer, we've already got Silva and Sima on loans and players going out of contract.
I would prefer a longer solution if possible.

if shankland wasnt scottish, a rangers fan and didn't play fir hearts,

lets say he's french, with same figures, and his top 4 club in france wanted 3m, would your opinion be different

we have always had issues with scottish rangers fans, and ye5 we have leg3ndary scottish rangers fans as strikers through our entire history,

its a strange thing.

I still think we need two strikers this window. I've got my doubts about Silva. the league is up for grabs. this is a ordinary Celtic team, with a less than ordinary manager.

TT, it has nothing to do with him being Scottish but everything to do with paying £4m+ for a player of his age while funding Hearts. Ings, for me would only be a loan signing to see us through til the summer when hopefully we will be in a better position to bring in players of a significantly better quality.

We should have had Shankland earlier in his career at a significantly lower fee. Problem of course is that he would probably not have progressed as well as he has done.

What I would say is that if Shankland had any inclination that rangers or Clement wanted him then his head would be turned and we would get him for a significantly lower fee in the summer when he will only have a year left on his contract and Hearts would have an unhappy player on their books.

We would of course need to make a low ball bid for him, and I would suspect that this would be sufficient to ensure that he didn't sign a new contract at Hearts.

I certainly don't blame Hearts for putting a hefty price on his head but I simply wouldn't pay the sort of fee being touted about in the media.

good to debate with an adult bb, i get what your saying, apart from the financing hearts bit, that's hiw buying players from another club works,

we can't buy any players without financing someone, ings was great

but its exactly the type of players 2ho have taken us inti the realms of a joke down the recent past

another injury pron3 flawed player, like dowel, beattie and many more, we need guaranteed goals, not a guaranreed treatment table regular.

The reason I had a go tom thumb was your arrogance in telling any poster that had a different opinion about the game being about fitness they were wrong. You seem to see yourself as some sort of higher grade poster. At the end of the day we all have different opinions.

Heard on the radio if Ings goes on loan his wages were to be upwards of 140 grand a week, think that involves the loan fee, so basically no chance.
