I had started a debate earlier today in my post regarding who all our supporters thought was similar to glen kamara of yesteryear 🤔 Here's a follow up question fellow bears and a difficult one at that! If you had the straight choice of signing our former young midfielder billy gilmour permanently in place of glen kamara if we sold him or keeping kamara instead of signing gilmour permanently (if it was possible), what would you prefer rangers to do? 🤔 What would be your preference between the two, as they play in the same area in midfield 🤔.

not sure if that was a genuine question because i think most would want gilmour, not because he is a rangers supporter who jumped ship but because he has better prospects than kamara, who i do rate btw. however i think gilmour is by far the better player than Kamara SGL.

Kamara. Gilmour left. End of. I prefer the here and now and not the ifs and buts. He is not the first and won’t be the last prospect to do so. We as a club will also benefit from other clubs with youth.

No doubt Gilmour is a talent. He ain’t proved fek all yet. Kamara head and shoulders above. Some people get carried away with the paper talk.

We could not afford to sign Gilmour quoted last week juventus were preparing a 15 million bid.

Absolutely gilmour awe day. He’s top drawer mate. I really rate kamara even when folk were slating him I’ve always thought highly of him. But gilmour definitely for me.

Gilmour has played 400mins of professional football and some would prefer him over Kamara. 😳. Makes no sense to me.

Who will be the better player. Gilmour. Who is currently in our side and tactically and system aware as well as match fit then it has to be Kamara. Ideally Kamara stays till the summer and Gilmour comes in and they both complement one another.

I've always rated glen kamara and have said so even last season when he was going through a downturn in form! He's a brilliant midfielder imo 👌 But i've asked the question so it's only right that i state my preference 🤔 Without any hesitation it would be billy gilmour for me 👍
He's already a superb young midfielder, who without a doubt imo,
has the potential to go on to be a world class midfielder 👌Young gilmour is different gravy for me and that's no sleight on the superb glen kamara!

Gilmour was motm in their champions league game midweek.

Kamara by country mile. gilmour will never be able to out muscle players in the midfield like Kamara does. yes gilmour has key passes but strength ain't his forte.

Not at all daviedouglas1980!I've seen young gilmour in the english premier league and european football holding opposition midfielders off mate 🤔 Don't assume by his build my friend its how you use your body in midfield!

Sgl. World class? Maybe I’m being over critical but can you name me a world class player that only had 400mins of game time @19? Can’t be many mate.

He’ll be loaned out next season. The reason he ain’t playing is not cause lack of talent, it’s because he needs to fill out physically. That’s not guaranteed to come and he might end up with injury after injury.

It’s like saying Messi was the best player in the world at 25? He probably was 😂 but a lot of these “ world class worlds bests” get thrown about to easy by some. Again that’s how I feel.

Yip I’d say gilmour strength on the ball is one of his best attributes, when I’ve seen his ability to hold players off and turn and run with ball is what he’s all about.

Klubdfut, the clue is there when you actually open your eyes 👀 and read ie. "HAS THE POTENTIAL TO GO ON TO BECOME WORLD CLASS", that's what i said pal and he has without a doubt for me 👌.

Kamara on his game is wonderful to watch . His balance and movement a joy . Aribo and Kent are similar the way they drop their shoulders and deceive the opposition into which way they are going . The amount of times those players have waltzed past three . four defenders with a turn is difficult to count now . Amazing we have so much flair in those three at the moment. Please please long may it continue 🙏.

Klubdfut he never said he is world class so what you talking about?

I would take kamara because it’s impossible that we could/ would sign Gilmour right now as we couldn’t afford him for start.

Don’t really understand these questions because it can’t/ won’t happen, so pretty pointless to me.

Steven Gerrard Loyal, I think it was said on here that you played for Lanarkshire Schoolboys in the 60s? So did I, and I wonder what year it was you played as we might know each other. Maybe you could name some of the boys you played beside and against to find out? It would be great to hear from you.

Maybe try re reading my post?

The original post this thread started with was would you take gilmour or Kamara. I’m usuming we’re talking about playing here and now and not about in 5 y time?
I understand the original poster is making the point that he believes gilmour might be work class in the future and I respect that and he maybe will, but I was making the point that a lot of players including Messi have been hailed as potential work class and don’t fulfil there potential. People are very quick to get carried away. You surely respect this point?

Right here right now, billy gilmour is below the level of Kamara and forthat fact alone Kamara all day long.

Sry. Just clarify. That came out wrong. Messi did fulfil his potential. Others don’t.
