Ryan Gauld rumour resurfacing. . gauld is the clubs captain and from cam position he's either getting a goal or an assist every 2 games which in Portugal's top flight is a brilliant stat I'd say.

1.) 11 Feb 2021 17:57:21
Mentioned him a while ago his contract is up his club in summer although they have a option to add another year but I think between 1.5 to 2 million gets him could be a could buy.

2.) 11 Feb 2021 18:19:49
There is no chance 2 million buys him.

3.) 11 Feb 2021 18:24:41
Was he not on loan at hibs recently and never did much. Wish we had bought him and the lad Russell when both were at United.

4.) 11 Feb 2021 18:51:39
No thanks, didn’t cut the mustard at hibs.

5.) 11 Feb 2021 19:16:33
no thanks severely overrated.

6.) 11 Feb 2021 19:44:40
People saying overrated etc. to be club captain says about the boys mentality and to get either a goal or assist every 2 games in Portugal's top flight says everything. how many of our current midfielders get that stat in the spl never mind in portugal.

7.) 11 Feb 2021 20:06:00
People that say he is overrated don’t know anything about the boy he is highly regarded in Portugal with people that no more about football than us.

8.) 11 Feb 2021 20:11:53
Should go after baah at Rochdale, will be available on a freee.

9.) 11 Feb 2021 20:26:37
had more clubs than peter strinfellow.

10.) 11 Feb 2021 20:41:48
John25, in think Aberdeen are front runners for that lad.

11.) 11 Feb 2021 20:56:18
Did he not sign for man city in the window? Sure he did and got loaned back 👍.

12.) 11 Feb 2021 20:57:45
I liked young gauld n he didn’t get a look in at hind. He’s worth a look at but I couldn’t give a serious answer as haven’t watched him.

13.) 11 Feb 2021 21:04:08
1872 we need to get in first .

14.) 11 Feb 2021 21:43:34
Herewego no he rejected the move. His manager at Rochdale was on today talking about it.
Saw no first team path at city so boy said no.

15.) 11 Feb 2021 21:43:34
John Man City were signing him and loaning him back for rest of the season am

16.) 11 Feb 2021 21:55:36
Bellshilllad83,johnny russell would never have signed for us in a month of sunday's mate 👎He's a very bitter celtic fan who stated a good few years ago about how much he despised rangers and could never play for us!

17.) 11 Feb 2021 22:55:34
kJ that fell through.

18.) 11 Feb 2021 23:05:37
Every days a school day john I assumed he signed. Cheers for the info mate 👍.

19.) 12 Feb 2021 06:22:25
Sgl my mate was sitting beside russell at lazio away last season. You are correct. Would never want somwone like that at our club.

20.) 12 Feb 2021 08:05:39
Is Johnny Russell not from Coatbridge and has family in the Calton? Not a great mix that, is it? He's a bitter wee fud who would never play for us.

21.) 12 Feb 2021 09:32:17
Herewego I only know as I was listening to Rochdale manager.

22.) 12 Feb 2021 10:08:20
Russell is a complete celtic fan
and family of celtic season ticket holders he stated before he would never play for us and got much better already would say we need another good attacking winger as back up to Kent with good crossing
so Portuguese leagues a good place to start I. e gauld think he would fit in well at rangers.

23.) 12 Feb 2021 12:15:34
John that says air about the boy and all good that he would turn them down.

24.) 12 Feb 2021 13:42:29

25.) 12 Feb 2021 14:44:33
John25, my previous post was meant to be a gag, based on the lad's surname.

26.) 12 Feb 2021 17:08:49
Cool 1872, way over my head mate.

27.) 13 Feb 2021 06:31:29
I’d be interested in Ryan Gauld if he was out of contract as I’m sure if his recent stats are good and with a good level of coaching and playing with better players when it’s clear his attitude and mental ability are highly rated to have the balls to test himself abroad and be made club captain then I think he could be a shrewd acquisition.
If he’s going to cost £2m though I think the stint at Hibs would put me off more, so for me if he’s free he’s worth the risk just paying his wages.

28.) 13 Feb 2021 10:15:54
yeah on a free could work out really well for us 👍.

02 Feb 2021 08:41:42
Rangers announce pre contract signing of the other lad from bournmouth. oforobor is now officially a ger too. spending season at wycombe before joining gers in the summer. confirmed on rangers website.

1.) 02 Feb 2021 08:52:43
We seem to be doing good business.

2.) 02 Feb 2021 09:48:37
we certainly do john wrapping up young players on a 4 year plus contract has to be good buisness if they are good enough of course.

3.) 02 Feb 2021 09:49:04
The difference in professionalism from even s couple of year back is night and day. We just seem to go about our business with no fuss.

4.) 02 Feb 2021 10:05:40
This guy Wilson is making a big difference how we operate.
Appears to be much better than Allen.

5.) 02 Feb 2021 11:14:56
I'm loving how we do our business now. 👍.

6.) 02 Feb 2021 11:23:03
I like the fact with the free signings you have to look ahead for the following season.

7.) 02 Feb 2021 13:34:50
Am not sure about the boy that’s went to Wycombe on loan, Wycombe are struggling badly in there league and if he can’t get a game at Bournemouth it’s doesn’t fill you with hope, but a trust Gerrard and Ross Wilson 💯 so fingers crossed he turns out to be a player.

8.) 02 Feb 2021 15:20:25
Deane I don't know about the boy but I do know he was at wycombe all last season and got them promoted to the championship scoring in the play off final. qouted as best player in league 1 supposobly.

9.) 02 Feb 2021 19:25:51
Best place for him then if he’s known and liked there.

10.) 02 Feb 2021 23:45:13
He really is John25
a big big difference to be honest.

11.) 03 Feb 2021 01:41:00
Dd as far as i read,i'msure he just signed at wycombe, before we got him, hours late, or he would be here also, imo.

12.) 03 Feb 2021 09:08:47
I agree John25,ross wilson superb at his job 👌He was very highly regarded at southampton and remember before we brought mark allen in,
ross wilson was actually our first/ preferred choice, but wasn't prepared to up sticks and leave the saints, at that particular time! So he was always our board's first choice for our DOF role 👍🇬🇧.

13.) 03 Feb 2021 17:53:22
i think katic is done too sad to say. not that i want him to be i think he is a great defender was never a fan of goldson but this season he has been solid. i think gerrard was already starting to phase katic out after well documented rift with katic/ goldson so for him to get serious injury makes it an easy loan out then get rid like he did with murphy, but you know what even though i love big katic you got to trust in gerrard after what he has built.55 in the bag roll on 56 and entry into champions league fingers crossed.

01 Feb 2021 12:30:26
Jamie barnes off to orange county to see out last 6 months of his contract. good luck to the boy in his career.

1.) 01 Feb 2021 13:12:23
I take it you mean Jamie Barjonas?

2.) 01 Feb 2021 14:28:59
Ye colin. spell check on my phone.

3.) 01 Feb 2021 14:37:36
tinge of sadness nonetheless.

4.) 01 Feb 2021 14:56:58
Dd, i like the look of young jamie b when he first popped onto our scene mate, i also think he has had a couple of yearly ex to contract, however if sg said no more, then that's good enough for me mate, good luck to the young lad,

5.) 01 Feb 2021 15:28:44
Wish the boy well, just not able to step up for us. SG seemed to like him, I’d be surprised if we give him another deal.

6.) 01 Feb 2021 16:47:57
That's a shame about Barjonas. He didn't seem that far away from the first team for a while.
On another note, looks like Florian Kamberi may be going to the sheep.

29 Jan 2021 21:41:09
Noticed the midfielder boy from bournmouth were looking at ain't in the bournmouth sqaud tonight. Simpson on the bench.

1.) 30 Jan 2021 04:56:07
It will be the other player were linked with we have signed Simpson for next season.

2.) 30 Jan 2021 09:19:30
I know that's why I said midfielder
Simpson a cb.

3.) 30 Jan 2021 10:49:24
If I’m honest I would be surprised if we brought in any of our Bosman signings in just now.
I know it’s good to bed then in but by having them available for day 1 of Preseason they already have a good chance to integrate to squad.
We already have a big squad and although a few fringe players will be loaned out I just can’t see us doing a deal just now unless it’s a nominal fee.
Bournemouth seem far more receptive to sorting something out but can’t see us negotiating a deal for Wright as Sheep are (reading between the lines) expecting
at least £400k which doesn’t make financial sense to the club atm.

4.) 30 Jan 2021 15:06:41
Agreed Glasgow but there was talk of him signing now and with him not in the sqaud then maybe a bit of truth in it as not wanting him injured possibly.

5.) 31 Jan 2021 03:09:09
Theglasgowranger, no wonder we won't dtup up, at that cost, that's like us paying sberdeen 25 grand a week, for his digning, away n count yon sheep.

26 Jan 2021 21:06:09
Looks like the media have jamp the gun. the 2 boys from bournmouth have not yet signed pre contracts for gers. talks are still ongoing.

1.) 26 Jan 2021 22:18:15
media have def over egged this

the club tbf have not said anything yet.

2.) 27 Jan 2021 00:45:56
Holy smokes the media have lied.
I can't believe they would do such a thing. Surely not that would be a very dishonest low life scumbag click bait lying journalist thing to do ahhh Well hey ho maybe they were just ill informed. Who knows maybe one day they will be honest and report what realy happens. Or maybe not.

3.) 27 Jan 2021 11:10:04
DD1980, don't fret my friend, both jack simpson and oboforh are signing for the famous mate 👍🇬🇧.

4.) 27 Jan 2021 12:12:05
Always the same with transfers and rangers never simple.

5.) 27 Jan 2021 13:14:54
We can sign anytime next six months on pre contract.
Only need to be done for next week if we want them to play now.

6.) 27 Jan 2021 14:26:42
Tindall Bournemouth manager said that a deal in jan is possible for them.

7.) 27 Jan 2021 14:34:33
Cheers, I think you need to know how journalism works mate, they try to be first with news and are often fed the wrong information, they can only report what they’re told,

Apart from the unethical who print lies, but it’s the same in all walks of life, you get what you pay for, I would recommend the guardian, they don’t have any agenda.

8.) 27 Jan 2021 22:51:16
Their Gaffa left them out of squad last night and said both have made up their mind to move on to Rangers and they would be receptive to any January offer made by the club.

9.) 28 Jan 2021 01:29:07
the guardian has always had an agenda.

English fans shooting down the idea of a British league. good were Scottish and play in the spl. Setting up a British league is just as bad as it was the esl. can't believe that this was even mentioned. Good few on here are proper hypocrites. stating a couple days ago against the esl then 2 days later wanting to jump ship to a supposed British league. once independence happens then we wouldn't be part of Britain anyhow.

Like it or lump it were a Scottish club with Scottish roots and only became political after Celtic were formed. Yes the 4 were protestants but the club wasn't based as a protestant club. Club was formed for the ship builders of the clyde to play football. Were Scottish as I said like it or lump it that's a fact and we play in the spl. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.

1.) 22 Apr 2021 16:09:29
I’m British thank you very much

And i'll remain British,

And I know very few Rangers fans who would not want to be a part of the epl, a far better place to play football and to prosperity

Or play against Hamilton for evermore, it will happen,

And it certainly is nothing like the European thing , you should check the fact first before ranting.

2.) 22 Apr 2021 16:17:56
Agree DD1980. We are a Scottish team and if we join a British league or squirm our way into English football, then we are no better than the esl clubs.

3.) 22 Apr 2021 17:29:08
Tomthumb 12, there's a simple way telling where your from. check your birth certificate of country of origin. Britain isn't a country but just stating a fact to you now and on my post.

4.) 22 Apr 2021 17:33:32
Also tomthumb. The big 6 were ready to jump ship. idealy they wanted there cake and eat it. play in the epl and the esl. The epl stated they may be thrown out if the epl and were still going to jump ship leaving the rest of the teams behind to struggle as without the big 6 it would not have generated the same type of money for the rest. Old firm are supposobly ready to jump ship leaving the rest behind. Hows that diffrent lol. Also my post wasnt a rant but simply stating hard FACTS.

5.) 22 Apr 2021 18:12:43
Yip, definitely says Surrey, England.

6.) 22 Apr 2021 18:34:00
Facts eh?

Without mentioning the fact of the selling being a closed shop

Old firm joining the epl, is nothing like the other thing,

And Scottish clubs were happy to see rangers almost die

7.) 22 Apr 2021 18:36:00
Nobody would ever contemplate Rangers joining a closed shop without relegation, so your talking rubbish, again.

8.) 22 Apr 2021 19:03:39
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the United Kingdom (UK) or Britain, [note 10] is a sovereign country.
The union between the Kingdom of England (which included Wales) and the Kingdom of Scotland in 1707 to form the Kingdom of Great Britain, followed by the union in 1801 of Great Britain with the Kingdom of Ireland created the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
Nice wee fact. 👍.

21 Apr 2021 10:35:41
With rumours stating to play tav and Patterson together. tavs too weak to play on the right side of midfield but I'd definitely give him a shot of right wing. would solve our problem position there. he's kinda in that position most of the game anyhow. we know he can score aswell. personaly think it would give our right side the same balance as our left.

1.) 21 Apr 2021 10:46:40
I'm with you on that Davie d,

Let's see how many of us don't though.

2.) 21 Apr 2021 10:55:33
You’d play Tav right side of a front 3 Davie? In place of Aribo or Hagi or Wright?

3.) 21 Apr 2021 10:58:22
Put tav in midfield just like fernando!

4.) 21 Apr 2021 11:14:11
We don't have a problem there? Aribo and hagi have bother contributed good numbers. both will not play together.

5.) 21 Apr 2021 11:53:29
I don’t think Tav can play anywhere else to be honest.

He ain’t a right forward that’s for sure.

6.) 21 Apr 2021 12:16:55
Simple play patterson more fade out tav give goldson arm band.

7.) 21 Apr 2021 13:31:52
I'll use a wee known quote on here, I'll trust the management on this one. Hahaha.

8.) 21 Apr 2021 13:44:12
At the end of the day lads, what a great problem to have! Mind before it was “do we play Nicky Clark or sandaza “ 😂😂.

9.) 21 Apr 2021 14:05:44
That’s correct Alloa ger.

I still don’t understand why our fans still think we play with wingers as kent and whoever on the right play just behind the striker in a more central role and have done for ages.

10.) 21 Apr 2021 14:25:23
We play with two no.10's for me simple as that! Most of our width comes from our maurading full backs.

11.) 21 Apr 2021 14:32:21
Just had a shiver up my spine there Alloager! 😫.

12.) 21 Apr 2021 14:36:43
I'm not a fan of playing players out of position.
It normally upsets the balance of the team.

13.) 21 Apr 2021 15:43:34
Correct SGL

If we had to play Tav right wing then SG would need to change the way we play.

14.) 21 Apr 2021 17:04:30
Ok for the few that say we don't play right wing then if for God sake. just to let every1 k ow. Kent's an out an out winger. the reason roofe can't play rf even tho he's a striker or itten for that matter is Gerrard likes them to have width and also track back so for the selected few that's mentioned we don't play wingers. yes there called a front 3 striker but any gers fan know the lf and rf give us width in the team for God sake.

20 Apr 2021 12:57:03
Regarding the esl. they have 12,they say they want 3 more founding members with 5 joining each year. Once UEFA and fifa ban them from competing in there competitions and kick them out of the leagues no 1 will want to join them. Invite 5 teams to have a season with them then have to reapply to join the lowest domestic league the following year lol. aye ok. let the 12 go, let them fail then let them work there way back up from the regional leagues. It will be the 12 that's extinct not the rest. roll on fridays meeting with UEFA where I hope and so far expect UEFA to ban them with immediate effect from champions league and Europa.

1.) 20 Apr 2021 13:34:34
There’s one thing for sure, those club will never be “ extinct “

They will obviously be targeting the Asia and Middle East market, which is extremely lucrative,

2.) 20 Apr 2021 13:59:55
Doubt very much anyone will be kicked out or banned in the forseeable future. Legal issues will take ages to sort.

Will it actually happen? who knows but there is a lot more to come before it is settled.

3.) 20 Apr 2021 14:38:06
There is indeed Jim, but if they have too, the government have made it clear they will use every avenue they have to stop these clubs from doing anything

And that could include legislation that could see them banned quite easily.

4.) 20 Apr 2021 14:49:39
Uefa won’t ban them just can’t see it happening and do you not think these clubs have checked if they could be or not?

I can’t believe the amount of people sticking up for uefa now last week most on here were abusing them yes different matter but still the same people.

Uefa do not care about the Rangers and Celtics of this world.

5.) 20 Apr 2021 16:15:36
Clearly states in the pl rules that no club will join another organisation. UEFA president stated the best thing to do was kick them out and the meetings on Friday so all will come clear.

6.) 20 Apr 2021 16:44:37
They’re not trying to join “ another organisation “ they’re trying to be included in another tournament, that doesn’t mean leaving they’re home league obviously,

19 Apr 2021 16:45:01
Surely any player that is at a club that leaves for this super league there contract will not be valid anymore and will need to be re written and agreed. i'm sure there contracts will state premier league appearances, goals, cup finals, European appearances etc etc for whatever bonuses they may be on.

1.) 19 Apr 2021 17:21:24
Another point also with these teams. If like said bu UEFA that they will ban players and fa expected to ban them. surely that will affect there whole youth set ups also not being able to play.

2.) 19 Apr 2021 17:34:07
They’re contract is between them, they’re reps and the club, nobody else, it’s simply about money for 99.9%

They’re legal people may have as much clout as the pl or uefa.

3.) 19 Apr 2021 17:42:10
Ed if D Desmond is involved with man utd will he be banned from uefa meaning he can't invest in Celtic? I know it might sound daft but just asking the question.

{Ed002's Note - It must be 15 years since he was involved with Manchester United.}

4.) 19 Apr 2021 20:24:40
Don't think any of the mafia are involved in utd nowadays.

5.) 20 Apr 2021 08:25:36
I'm pretty sure in some of there bonus schemes for attendances goals etc it will state premier league or domestic competitions which would officially make it null and void meaning a new contract would need to be made with alterations and need to be signed.

6.) 20 Apr 2021 14:47:56
Ever Single details of a player contract will be sorted, and most will have little to do with certain tournaments, except bonus, that can very easily be sorted,

18 Apr 2021 09:46:48
Question troops. With the amount of merchandise sold. castore have obvoisly made a big bag of cash. gers are a big enough club if it was viable then surely hers would make more pounds going it alone and making there own strips to take all the profit. obvoisly castore pay gers and get percentage if sales but sponsors wouldn't be doing this unless they make money. If gers were to produce there own strip with shirt only sponsor surely there's far more profit in this for gers?

{Ed002's Note - Rangers do not have a manufacturing facility, thry don't have the logiistics, they don't have the outlets or distribution network....}

1.) 18 Apr 2021 10:17:32
We have a 5 year contract with castroe. Castroe are coining it in from rangers fans.

2.) 18 Apr 2021 10:27:17
Davie like majority of clubs much easier said than done.

3.) 18 Apr 2021 10:28:03
I was just going to post the same, Ed. On paper it does sound lucrative however the setting up and maintenance of the process would be prohibitive.

4.) 18 Apr 2021 11:04:48
Ed has it spot on Davie, to start up as a kit manufacturer the expense would eat up any extra profits .

If it was a viable option Rangers would have done it.

Same goes for other clubs Davie.

5.) 18 Apr 2021 11:20:56
No football club has the time or expertise to do it mate.

6.) 18 Apr 2021 10:24:24
I agree Ed002 every vendor would want a pound of flesh and would reduce the products worth drastically. But why not buy into the successful current business, owners willing.

{Ed002's Note - There would be no point, Rangers is a football club.}

7.) 18 Apr 2021 10:36:39
Ed I did think of that but castore were a small outlet prior to this also. I'm sure with some logistics by gers they could combat this to provide tops. Castore also don't have the distribution network as they don't have shops. with the way the worlds going could gers keep the mega store and go online only. Would any1 know the benifet of doing this in hard cash as in sales profits etc.

{Ed002's Note - There would be no benefit given the investment required.}

8.) 18 Apr 2021 10:37:17
Also does any team have this practice in the world.

{Ed002's Note - No, the vast majority have a shirt deal where the kit manufacturers sponsor the club through providing shirts and sponsorship money. A few additionally take a small percentage of sales or a larger percentage of profits. Two clubs work in partnership with the manufactures.}

9.) 18 Apr 2021 10:44:27
Ed 002 they can set these things up at a cost in the long run would turn out to be good investment because wee would get all the profit fromour shirt sales.

{Ed002's Note - Maybe get a market stall to sell them from as well.}

10.) 18 Apr 2021 11:44:35
Ffs if this was the case then every club would be doing it not just rangers.

11.) 18 Apr 2021 12:26:40
Kja9 again without fail you can't comment like the rest with a civalisided comment. After seeing how castore have handled gers with no shops etc I'm sure it's more than viable but also sure as ed said infrastructure to get there short term would be a lot if time, money and hassle tho. as some1 said. long term gain would be profitable. if your gona comment on my posts starting with a . then don't bother commenting at all eh. I'll await tt12s comments. cheers for most for being civil and like proper fellow fans tho.

12.) 18 Apr 2021 12:39:02
What about the burgers and pies - maybe we should buy a farm to stop the profits going down the food chain!

13.) 18 Apr 2021 12:59:48
DD I am stating facts just because you don’t like the answer doesn’t mean it’s not civilised.

Here is my comment for it not being civilised since you want it.

It’s one of the biggest crackpot ideas I have ever heard to be honest up there with someone wanting to loan fredo to an epl team to get his value up 👍.

Eeyeez even with the cash injection we would be mid table at best. let's be serious here. we would never be able to compete in the first 10 years and we would be closer to the bottom than the top.

Hagis 21 don't forget. he has most certainly played his part since he's came to gers. Remember braga for 1. if Paterson has couple bad games we gona sell him too.

Think he's worth 20+. As well as a big add on for any profit made. he's contracted to gers so we just need to say no. very much doubt any1 be sold untill after cl qaulifiers.

I'm sure the selected few said that about tav a few years ago then he performed. on his Jones current form depending on his contract length I'd agree that he may be looked at. he's doing really well at Sunderland and consistant.
