Let's see if we can have a sensible discussion, following yesterday's business I feel we r positioning ourselves well for next season.
I do not think any loan players who left in window will return, add Stewart to that list.
For me we now have four strands to ready for next season
1. Decide what happens re Mcgregor, Balogun, Davis and Defoe
2. Extend contracts Tavernier, Goldston, and Kamara
3. Determine who we sell, Morelos, barisic, Kent, whoever
4. Sign couple of replacements.

Seems sensible to me John25.

1. Extend Mcgregor and Davis for another year. They may both see their game time reduce as the season goes on but still more positives to extending than not. Balogun and Defoe, thanks to them both. They've been great but with Simpson coming in and Katic on the way back I think we can do without big Leon. Defoe is way down the pecking order but I'd see if he would want to start his coaching career with us.

2. Extend all 3 players.

3. I think 3 players might go. I think possibly Kent and Barasic might want to challenge themselves in a tougher league and I think the summer will be when Morelos gets sold. If we can get away with selling just 2 I would say Morelos and Barasic.

4. I think we've made a good start for next season with the players signed yesterday but it will be interesting to see who we have in mind to cover any of the players we may sell for big money. I think we'll be clever about it and not over commit any funds on players until we see if we get into the Champions League Group Stage. I can also see an argument for spending money to try and ensure the group stages but that's a very dangerous route to go down if we don't make it.

It's exciting times to be a Rangers fan.

Agree with you regarding the boys out on loan and Stewart.
Think balagun, McGregor and Davis will sign extensions.
I think Kamara, Morelos, barisic and maybe Kent might leave (hope they don't) .
Any replacements signed will be relatively low cost (£5m max? )

But imo Kent is nowhere near good enough to be a good player in a better League.

I’d hate us to lose Kent for next year I think Morelos and Barisic are easier to replace I know some fans are split on Kent but I think he gives us a bit of an X factor and creates space for others. I would reluctantly let Kamara go but honestly I’d want 30M plus as I think he will only get better and just 24 we need him signed on longer contract to get that fee though.

I think the summers when our new business model must be implemented so unfortunately time to sell. We must clear our debts and I think we will and then use Europe and sales to become a profitable business. Probably Kent, Morelos and Barasic. I'd like Kamara to stay if possible. Extend McGregor and Davis. Big thanks to Defoe and a fond farewell or perhaps a coaching role 👍.

Totally agree with players out on loan can’t see them making it back - think they will be sold one way or another

McGregor has been one of my all time fav goalkeepers for Rangers he really has his ability and his passion for Rangers has always shine through for me
And will be gutted when he goes but I really think he should retire on 55 think it’s his time
Think he could still do a. Job next season but I’d like to see a new keeper a young one ready to start a long successful career

Davis also think he should retire on 55 again superb player
but think he should retire on a high and see who we sell on and who we can bring in more younger legs but with quality a younger Davis really

think barasic might stay to be honest champs league Kent and Morelos have no idea what club will do whether they want to go or stay for champs league whether club wants to cash in on Morelos is it can etc I honestly don’t know what will happen with him or Kent
I honestly thought and think Kent is happy up here some think he’s not but I do and think he might stay one more season

Balagun think he has been very good and think he can stay in and do a job for us
Defo longer contracts for goldson and Tav

Kamarra I’m not sure If he stays again he might remember guys we have champions league football or a very good chance to getting to the group stages and players might want the chance to shine
Hopefully anyway

But with players out on loan don’t come back hopefully with there wages freed up of and Defoe think should be going too retire etc free up his wages and being in some more quality in summer

Think Gerrard already knows what he wants and what he hopes to pull off in summer especially having g a crack at champs league
Club done grea this window to get all those players out on loan and think it’s the end of the road for them at our great club
Depends on who comes In for people and how much they offer will determine who moves on etc

will be interesting to see what happens come summer but we’re now making a right name for ourselves in Europe and a better higher calibre of players will be now taking notice of us so we will have real pulling power come the summer the best we have had in a long time

A very good post John25 👍 I honestly think we will sell barisic,
kamara and morelos in the summer and i personally think barisic will be the harder to replace 🤔I think mcgregor, balogun, davis will get new deals with defoe a possible coaching job 🤔I think like i said above kamara will be sold, but he'll sign a new deal before the end of the season which will enable us to get a much bigger transfer fee for him,
especially if he has a good euros.
Barisic has lately signed a new deal and along with a good euros, we'll get a good transfer fee for him 🤔
I think tav will also sign a new deal along with big connor goldson and stay for our champions league participation 🙏All good points on the above posts by all👍Superb post John25,to get all our thinking heads on and debates about what our club will do, in a small rebuild in the summer 👍🇬🇧.

John I’d give Davis, McGregor and balogun new 1 year deals. Wish Defoe all the best. I’d extend all 3 players you mentioned contracts. If we had to sell an asset for me if the money was there from a buyer I’d sell Morelos for the amounts we have quoted, if that’s possible. I like the way we are recruiting so would continue down that road.

I would expect Davis, Balogun and McGregor to get a contract extensions possibly 1 or 2 years.
Defoe fantastic player but will he be looking at a player/ coaching role?
Ideally it would be great if we kept the nucleus of the squad but there will be other clubs expressing an interest in Barasic, Kent, Kamara, Tav, Goldson and Morelos which you would expect.
In SG and Wilson we trust as to date they have built a strong squad to compete domestically and in Europe.
