Being told this afternoon rangers looking to extend Paterson and Bassey contracts to 2026. That would be two year extension for both, significant pay rise as well.

Both would move to circa 10 k with regular reviews built into Paterson deal.

Agreed from that perspective MPH. I still think Tav is first choice for a while, so will he be happy playing 2nd fiddle? Also, If it's true Everton are in for him, and the boy is interested, what sort of wage would he be looking at? Certainly more than 10k a week, I would guess?

Bandwarmy don’t agree at this stage. The lad could eventually be worth similar to tierney.
Very unlikely we would set a clause of 25. Mb say a clause 15 million allows him to talk to a club, if contracted we don’t have to sell.
What would u be happy with re sell on clause.

15 million is to low John I think a epl team would easy pay that next year think Everton where round the 8 million mark and apparently went a bit more so if he improves this season could see them easily paying 15 million release clause he’s a player I don’t want to lose for a few years as his value imo will only go up year on year.

John25, Good call if this is correct. Good young players and first team regulars. Don’t believe anything to be gained by inclusion of sell on clauses. Don’t recall Tierney having such a clause. The fact is if we receive an acceptable offer and if the player is keen to move the market will determine the fee.

This would be a good move for these two young players, I don't necessarily agree that Tavernier will be 1st choice for a while, I saw the highlights of last nights game, and Patterson look far more effective.

Totally makes sense. We cannot demand top dollar for players and reject offers that we say 'dont match our valuation' whilst paying these guys way below their valuation.
