The Dawn of a new Era begins tonight.
Gio takes charge of his first game against Sparta Prague.
A baptism of fire to the start of his reign against a side where given recent incidents, there is no love lost.
He has said "you will definitely see some changes".
Which raises the excitement.
Is this a new system?
New tactics?
Or more importantly for some a change of personnel?
Will he give Sunday's team a chance to redeem themselves? Or will he have seen enough in that game and in his couple of training sessions to freshen up the starting 11?
He demands that they play as a team, defend as a team and attack as a team.
And that players should know their tasks - a thinly veiled dig after Sunday and Goldson's comments where certain players never followed instructions?
Plenty have said he will play a variation of our current 4-3-3.
He himself has said that being Dutch he knows how to mix it up tactically.
Depending on who's available, I would like to see the following side.
4-2-3-1
McGregor ( I think McLaughlin will get the nod for Livi )
Patterson Goldson Balogun Bassey
Jack Kamara
Aribo Hagi Kent
Sakala
Exciting times ahead.
But just remember
Sometimes it's always darkest just before the Dawn.
Keep the Faith.
In Gio We Trust.

Can't argue with that formation, after Sunday some need to be dropped to get the message! Pity we're struggling for defenders or I would definitely of dropped Goldson.

Think that's a very good team Mr PH. Not for this game but I'd like to see McCrorie get some game time. Think the lad deserves that. Drop Tav? Can't see it to be honest. Other than that a very good side. i'd like to see more of Bacuna.

I like Bacuna as well AS1974.
And McCrorie.
I'm sure someone said everyone will have a clean slate with the new management team.
So it's up to the individual to impress in training and grab any chance that comes their way.
As it's possible a few places in the first 11 could be up for grabs.

The problem with Bacuna is consistency. The Huddersfield fans said he could be absolutely amazing one game, then crap the next half dozen or so. Sound familiar?!

Got to be given a chance but lads. Bacuna brings something different.

I don't think Gio will drop Tav, he will have to judge for himself what he sees on the pitch from our captain. I like the feel of the Dutch connection now being put together at Ibrox. The future is bright, the future is orange!

Sakala can't play single striker.

I disagree. I think he could. Balls over the top to run on to using his pace.

Bacuna and others may just thrive under Gio's system.
Others may struggle.

As1974 punting the ball over the top is not a style we play regularly is it? We need a target man and sadly only Morelos is capable. The only game i watched Sakala deployed as a single striker he was terrible his position discipline was poor he lost possession constantly.

That’s a team that I think most fans would be happy with MPH. Bacuna needs more game time as he’s not had much at all in year. Not the game I’d bring him into but he def needs minutes in the legs.

Unbeliever I believe things are going to be different under Gio. Fashion has pace to burn so why not use it? The way we are playing the now isint working so time to try something new! We don't play with a target man either. Morelos is no target man. He needs a big wake up call to get himself fit and hungry.

Good team but sakala ain’t and out and out striker for me but could be wrong think he is the same as roofe beat just off the main man.

MPH Jack will not start for me. I think you’ll be surprised, I think very similar to Sunday. Of course who knows.
