I can see what Sweep is saying Scott. I don't agree with him but I see it. I am not in agreement yet at least. I think we give him the summer.
But as Sweep will no doubt bring up we haven't improved our first 11 in a while now in any major way.
Lundstram is starting to stake a claim but other than that. Its the same team as last season.

Are you serious I think MPH summarised it well on here with a breakdown of his incoming and outgoings on transfers. It’s not solely down to Wilson when it comes to scouting and player trading. Scouts, managers and Wilson are involved in process. I’m satisfied with what Wilson has done but always room for improvement. 😃 I’m sure Wilson is working on developing our scouting network remember this was non existent when we came up and has been massively under invested until the last few years. These things don’t happen over night.

I can't believe people are calling for us to get rid of Ross Wilson, let's get things in perspective if Wilson had the money to spend he would be getting us better players, but it is obvious that his job at the moment is to bring in free transfers or transfers at minimum fees, if anyone knows another director of football in Scotland bringing in better players for for free or minimum cost, please let me know.

Ross Wilson has brought in 14 permanent signings at an approx. cost of £10 million.
Hagi, Bassey, McLaughlin, Defoe, Balogun, Roofe, Itten, Wright, Simpson all played a part in delivering 55 and achieving some success in Europe.
Since then Ofoborh ( learn term sickness ) , Sakala ( important squad player ) , Lundstram ( first team pick ) , Zukowski ( back up RB at a fraction of his market value ) and Bacuna ( moved on for a profit ) have been added.
During his tenure a further 18 players have been moved on. Freeing up much needed wages and others creating a transfer windfall.
IMO none of these 18 ( apart from Patterson ) are good enough to improve the current squad.
In the same period, Wilson has brought in 6 players on loan.
Only Hagi so far has made the move permanently with Sands on a current option to buy deal. 3 returned to their parent clubs.
Wilson has also sent out 12 fringe players on loan.
Giving the financial restraints the club are operating under we’ve approx. spent what we have brought in under Wilson.
So what do some people want?
Continually spend cash we don’t have?
Blow our budget on 2 stars – Veerman and Olsen went for £10 million excluding wages?
Don’t replace squad players that move on or aren’t good enough?
Fill the squad with youth?
It’s very easy for us all to have an opinion on who we should or shouldn’t buy.
It’s very easy to act as if we are playing Fantasy Football.
But Wilson has to operate in the real world.
And that’s the difficult part – improving the squad / first team whilst finding gems who fit our system and business model.
Remember we aren’t the only club in Europe trying to operate this way.
And it possibly will get easier as Auchenhowie starts to produce the goods and more players like Patterson break through.

Great post MPH. Always nice to be reminded some ok here can take a balanced view on something.
No club gets it right every time, and Wilson is working in a heavily constrained environment but when we do sell - and we will at some point - guys like Kamara, Aribo, Morelos, Hagi and Kent will make serious money for the club. That's the model and we have to face reality that we take risks and try and develop players and then sell them.
I really don't get the criticism of him. He inherited a complete shambles. We go about our business the right way now, the Rangers way, and we also have a clear plan - what more do people want?

Jetmayfair, ask the Southampton fans what Wilson did when he had money to spend, he wasted most of it and the vast majority were glad to see him go. Since he came to rangers he has signed an accumulation of squad players and youngsters but has failed to sign players that can walk straight into the Team and make a difference.
The quality players that are the stalwarts of the Team are all players that were here before Wilson arrived and even Lundstram, who has looked good alongside Jack, has still to prove himself. The top players in the squad, McGregor, Tavernier, Barasic, Goldson, jack, Davis, Aribo, Kamara, Arfield, kent and Morelos were all here before he arrived.
What has Wilson signed, Simpson and Itten, two players that are not even good enough to be squad players, Roofe and others that have injury issues that they had before they joined and a trio of loan signings. We need to see more quality coming in, players that can walk straight into the first team and make a difference.
This coming summer will be a defining period for the Club, a number of players, like McGregor, Davis and possibly Arfield and Goldson will leave on free transfers, others from among our quality players might move on transfers. All will need to be replaced with as good if not better players. It will be an interesting time.
