I get the feeling there is major unrest in the background with squad and management. Also hearing of takeover being imminent. Could be an interesting summer.

Bluey 1979

1.) 19 May 2024 09:34:46
Same every year about takeover. I won't hold my breath . Certainly need investment from somewhere.

2.) 19 May 2024 09:37:34
I won't knock you Bluey 1979because that's what you've heard pal but if this is the case then it is possible philippe clement won't be the manager going forward for our undoubted rebuild ?I personally rate and like big phil, but i sure as dam know if there's big changes behind the scenes coming and this is correct regarding unrest with our players and management team then anyone new coming into rangers might not want to give clement the cash for the rebuild ? I hope to god there's no unrest ?.

3.) 19 May 2024 10:35:06
There's clearly something going on because they were flying and then just all of a sudden dropped the levels dramatically. I'm wondering if PC's approach of telling players their future lies elsewhere early doors (allegedly) has made them give up the fight. We cannot compete financially so the best we can do is get players with a bit of grit and fight who actually want to play for rangers. Give me a team of fit Ryan Jack's and dujon sterling's lol.

4.) 19 May 2024 11:27:14
With all due respect Ryan Jack is far from the answer if we are serious about winning titles. We need far better quality than Jack in that area. He is one of many not good enough to take us forward.

5.) 19 May 2024 11:52:33
Bluey what have you heard about investment? Are we talking money invested by current members or someone looking to takeover the full club.

6.) 19 May 2024 11:52:50
Board have let us down badly. Pc jury out.

7.) 19 May 2024 12:54:52
He said himself. Bigger task than he first though. Lose the final and he’ll be off. I’ve said many times, we will suffer whilst long term strategy of increasing Ibrox etc . See how August pans out.

8.) 19 May 2024 13:02:44
Heard a complete takeover but I'm same as everyone else we hear same stuff every year. We do need some big investment. As long as PC is there I'm confident of rebuilding on a budget. I rate our manager highly and maybe some home truths have had a negative effect on some. PC looks very demanding as should be. Maybe we don't have the right mentality in this squad and end of cycle comments refer to this.

9.) 19 May 2024 13:40:31
Bluey. I agree. End of Cycle comment means big changes. I include Tav and Goldson.

10.) 19 May 2024 13:47:51
Think it will be just normal time of year stuff unhappy players that have been told they are surplus to requirements.

11.) 19 May 2024 13:53:14
I don't see it as a surprise that some of our players would be uneasy with PC and his comments. We have a squad of players that in general are lazy, there has clearly been issues with our training methods in the past and the number of injuries sustained can't all be down to bad luck.

Players that are 100% fit and committed tend not to sustain many injuries, (at least not until they start to age) .
The other issue of course is the number of players that were injury prone when they were signed.

From what I hear, PC has set some very high standards for what he expects and I believe that some of our players are just not interested.
A clear out is long overdue.

12.) 19 May 2024 15:23:03
Head hunted for a technical director role. Time will tell.

13.) 19 May 2024 16:03:27
Windy why would PC leave because we don't win the cup, he's said end of road for many so why would us not wining a cup make him go, what if we didn't reach cup final would he be away by now.

14.) 19 May 2024 17:52:13
BWD is back ?.

Anyone not sure about Connor Barron check out his highlights playing for Scotland U21. He is exactly what we need in midfield - a terrier.

Bluey 1979

1.) 15 Jun 2024 17:00:08
Hearing a lot of good things about this kid. hopefully we can get him in this window. we need that type of player in our midfield.

2.) 15 Jun 2024 20:31:24
He absolutely is and I’m delighted by this signing……if it comes off of course. I’ve heard a lot of people on X a YouTube say we’re getting another Jack! But 10 years younger and less injury prone, I really liked Jack when he played but I don’t remember Jack ever being quite as mobile. It will just be the Aberdeen thing.

Although I’d definitely say we need another midfielder in there, with a different profile someone who can score a goal but not a number 10, and this is just me but do we need a number 10 in there next season if we have the correct balance in midfield and goals with our midfielders chipping in and guaranteed goals from our wide men and our striker? I’m not so sure but depends on what PC has in mind.

09 Jun 2024 16:08:35
I would keep Tav but change the captain. Goldson is definitely going he came back from his last injury and seriously lost his edge. Maybe changing the captain and not the player would upset the squad dynamics. Who knows. PC will get it right I'm confident of that.

Bluey 1979

1.) 09 Jun 2024 16:32:42
Tav won't find the 2 yards he's lost unfortunately.

26 May 2024 12:56:06
Listening to Neil McCann yesterday I reckon he would be great on the coaching team with Clement.

Bluey 1979

1.) 26 May 2024 13:07:58
We are getting the Dutch guy in.

2.) 26 May 2024 13:17:51
I'd like McCann also. Have said that for some time now he would be massive help to manager.

3.) 26 May 2024 13:20:13
I've met McCann a few times and been at some coaching sessions with him.

It's hard to put in to words, but would be very surprised if he's part of the First Team Coaching set up next season.

4.) 26 May 2024 13:33:23
Great player, ok pundit, but would be a disaster as a coach. Just because someone can talk a good game, means the square root of hee haw in the grand scheme of things.

5.) 26 May 2024 13:55:21
McCann would be a great addition to the coaching staff.

6.) 26 May 2024 14:09:14
Correct roofe it’s the same with some guys wanting Kevin Thomson in coaching.

7.) 26 May 2024 14:22:18
So stormtrooper, was steven gerrard wrong when he said that kevin thomson was a very good coach and that he was highly valued within the corridors of ibrox and could go on to become a very good head coach/ manager well ?I think i'll take gerrard's word over yours and anyone else on here regarding kevin thomson's ability as a coach, no disrespect intended ?.

8.) 26 May 2024 14:38:23
I turn the volume down when mccanns talking, for someone who's never made it as a coach or manager he doesn't half talk the talk. Same with Kevin Thomson, don't want either near the Ibrox management team.

9.) 26 May 2024 15:36:36
Yes obe, he was wrong, as are you.

Maybe I'm wrong, but other than a short stint as a rangers youth coach, I don't recall Thomson being on Gerrard's senior coaching team at any point or being considered by the board as a manager when Gerrard, GVB or Beale left? .

10.) 26 May 2024 17:38:09
Yes Walter, thomson of the most dispised coaches in our game

Was it not Gerrard who told told thomson that he would never be part of his management team.

18 May 2024 11:45:30
Looking at the season I look at Euro performances and league performances and think this league offers zero motivation to majority of our squad. This is our bread and butter like it or not. This needs to change . We need to prioritise the league over everything and we have not done that IMO. We lost 7 games.

Bluey 1979

1.) 18 May 2024 12:07:17
I’ve said this before people down south couldn’t care less about our league and when the players come up here I don’t think they have that extra bit of desire.

17 May 2024 15:37:14
Everyone obsessed again with the gulf between us and them. O'Riley was 1.5m, Hatate few million. We can go and recruit well in the summer and have a great team next season. Keeping Butland is massive. We must have some youths ready to impact the 1st team.

McKinnon looks a player, Rice not featured, Lovelace has huge potential. When PC came in I'd have taken close run in league cup and Scottish cup final. The negative vibes are because we threw away a great chance. Also the media are loving jumping on our already negative agenda, so let's be a bit more positive.

Bluey 1979

1.) 17 May 2024 17:19:09
There's a massive gulf to suggest otherwise is crazy.

2.) 17 May 2024 17:25:52
No use keeping butland if what's in front of him are mince. Happily sell for £15 m. And get the defence sorted. Just my opinion guys.

3.) 17 May 2024 17:32:50
I don’t see any gulf. Every game was tight and we have had an unreal amount of injuries.
If we get energetic midfielders that can play at a higher intensity and a clinical striker who takes chances in the big moments we beat them.
Since PC has came in we got one more point than them. If there was a gulf they would’ve won the league by 10 points so I agree completely bluey.

4.) 17 May 2024 18:00:44
I don't see a gulf either, we have pushed this season almost to the wire, and if we get the spine of our team sorted then under PC I see happy days ahead.

5.) 17 May 2024 18:34:03
My own personal take is they currently have better players than us but it's nowhere near this massive gulf in class, that some want/ would have you believe and a lot of this comes not just from the enemy but our own supporters also ?.

6.) 17 May 2024 18:47:30
Blue89 we have beaten them once in the last 14 outings in a dead rubber! That's a gulf in anybody book!

7.) 17 May 2024 18:48:58
No gulf? Aye, OK then!

8.) 17 May 2024 18:58:41
Blue89 exactly, people are talking like we are now St Johnston.

9.) 17 May 2024 19:08:14
No there is no massive gulf squad wise, that is just ridiculous to say that. However there is a massive gulf in terms of the finical position of both clubs. Luckily we are in the SPL where there is a limit on how far riches can actually get you other wise they would be well out of site. We can still compete but we need to be better off the pitch than them and that where we have failed over the last decade.

10.) 17 May 2024 19:44:11
Of course there is a gulf when was the last time we beat them in a game that mattered? If it helps some fans sleep at night then you can say there isn’t a gulf but your lying.

11.) 17 May 2024 20:59:12
Our recruitment has been awful for the most part 3/ 4 decent signings and things can change, they have recruited certain players that have made a difference Hatate Oreily and Kyogo and of course home grown macgregor, the rest of their starting line up are not superstars.

12.) 17 May 2024 21:15:17
Sima CCV is the best defender by a country mile in the division.

13.) 17 May 2024 21:16:54
Fully fit, I'd say we'd have 3/ 4 players at the most in a combined 11. that's a gulf.

14.) 17 May 2024 22:24:58
Clammy CCV is a decent centre half what about the guy next to him or the full backs don’t tell me their superstars.

Jim McColl only name that springs to mind based on the fact he has shown interest in the past.

Listened to Souness saying Liverpool dominated Europe for a decade and tactics were not that important. It was all about winning individual battles. VAR and refs now ensure there is no battles. Football now is like a game of chess.

Bluey 1979

{Ed001's Note - Souness may have said that, but he was talking absolute bollox.}

Need a young, hungry midfielder that progresses to make us successful and moves on for £££s. We need a Barry Ferguson type player.
