Could be wrong but did this not happen last summer when we thought there was a chance we wouldn't get the player if there was multiple clubs interested/ or the selling club was playing hardball on the fee so we had deniability if it didn't come off.

This singing has been complicated further as Lennon is now the manager there so can see him trying to put a spanner in the works. This is a player I can 100% say we have been actively scouting. There has been another 2 or 3 that have also caught the eye while we were scouting this lad. I've no idea if we will act upon the initial scouting but he is definitely good enough to improve us. I think if we do move for him it could cost us in other areas because the fee I'm hearing would be in the region of 5-6 with another 2-3 in add ons. That price might put our club off but for me personally I think we would have the top striker in the country that will improve massively.

Dessers is a far better option in my opinion. From what I’ve seen the Blair he is a big unit and a handful but it’s hard to see that transforming us into SPL champions.
If we are to sign a new centre forward he needs to be better than Dessers and score 30+ goals a season, anything else is preparing to fight for second place.

This window is quite confusing, don’t know who’s going to be here or not! Probably a good thing that people like me know nothing.
If I’m honest I really wanted that player from Fenerbache, I thought he’d have been perfect! But I get we can’t just pay someone 60k a week, but isn’t Silva on 80k? PW, must have took a massive pay cut!
Only rumour so far that I've liked, obviously there’s the Shankland thing but not in this window! I think he will be a Rangers player one day! Summer possibly.
But I just hope PC has someone in mind for our number 9 role, Dessers isn’t for me, he’s to slow and misses chances that matter in games and looks like he panics when through on goal. Is it 8 goals he’s scored? That’s shocking considering the chances he’s had in a team that creates loads of chances. Sima is on 14 and he’s our left winger.
One thing that I keep wondering was didn’t John Bennett say that what we spent in the summer wouldn’t effect what PC has in this window. Or was that just another way of saying we’ve spent our money, so there’s no money anyway. Loans and trying to punt Ridvan and get rid of other players before we can even think about loaning players. Seems dire. I know we got Silva but we’re needing a lot more than him. I know the wage bill needs to come down though so maybe that’s the focus first. But what if we can’t get rid of as much players as we need too? Are we then stuck. Roofe is a wage thief. Tom Lawrence too. I do a sport we’re I actually get hurt. And I’m never injured for that long. And I’m 36. It’s sad tbh because a lot of people thought we had a good transfer window at the end of the summer. Turned out to be a disaster.
I think i need a chill pill, I’m still raging about the old firm game that was there to be won. Need a clinical striker.

Dowell has had an injury with us but he has not had a career laced with injuries to be fair, the boy can play and has taken his chance so will be here till summer at least a think, Dowell and Stirling were both rumoured to be going back to England this month but most likely just down to not much game time and assuming that his would be the case, if not for those two and young McCausland breaking into the team we could of been looking at almost a full rebuild.

Guys imo transfermarket can be reasonable accurate. They value dowell at 2 million, I’d take that with sell on and an add on if team get playoff or promoted.

Right now, with the exception of Butland and Tav, there isn't one of our players that I would be desperate to hold on to if the right offer was received. Most of us hoped that the revamp of the squad last summer would bring a significant upgrade, as it transpired this did not happen although it is early days with the likes of Sterling and young McCausland and they certainly look like they have something to offer.
Come the summer, (unless by some miracle we are able find a buyer this month, we should be glad to see the back of Roofe and Jack, good players in their day, but far too injury prone and unless we are likely to see a change under the new medical team I would reluctantly add Lawrence and Souttar to that list.

Stevie, matt oriley is similar in height and build he doesn't have any problems for his position. The injuries are an issue but height is irrelevant i think. Will have a part to play if he stays ?.

Why do we keep putting Sima out on the left of the front 3, i know Beale likes lammers and he seems to prefer the right/ centre but Simas best footy has come from wide right. Surely give the boy a chance to play his favoured position, also tav prefers to hit the ball up the wing which would suit him better where Barasic prefers a close pass which would get Lammers on the ball more often.

Sima has clearly played as the left sided forward, not central and not as a 10. Guys best football came playing off the right hand side at Red Star, thought his best game was against hamburg where again his starting position for his runs was right to left. He doesn't have the close skill to cut in onto his right on first viewing.

Mcgowans a good player, would do the sort of role Arfield done for us, maybe doesn't have the same sort of engine that Arfield did in his first couple of season with us but he has a goal in him and is actually quite a tidy footballer, people want Cameron because he is younger with scope to improve but mcgowab is currently a better a player, albeit he is 26.

He would first need to get fit enough to play a similar number of games to Tav and also cement a starting spot in the team, also pretty sure Sterling is quite a quiet and reserved guy, although pretty full blooded on the pitch.

Sakala should have stayed tbh, felt it was a mistake at the time, he was a pain in the arse at times with his offside and erratic finishing but he scored 14 league goals last year, he was the only one that looked like scoring in pre season and you regardless of who we were playing he always gave 100% and played with energy.
We never replaced his pace and energy, he could also play wide or through the middle, beale wanted to play with 2 strikers who were also comfortable in the wide positions and sold one of the only players we had that was comfortable in doing so. The two big misses against celtic were huge negatives against him though.

We are going to need to have our best ever pre season if we are losing goldson tav lundstram amd butland, no ones overly happy with the striker position either so potentially the entire spine of the squad is going to leave and be replaced, we also have a problem at full back and we have no wingers. Clement and the recruitment staff have their work cut out big time.
