See Dan Burn of Fulham has said he is leaving at the end of season when his contract expires, anyone think he could do a turn for us at CB? God knows we need to improve defensively and he was subject to rejected bids from Sheff Wed.

A giant of a lad, saw him play for Yeovil a couple of years ago. But wages would probably scupper any possible deal.

Dan Burn ticks a lot of boxes. Young, strong physically (which is something our team needs) , and has plenty of experience at Championship level. Does he have the quality tho? He played plenty of games for Fulham and they were shipping goals.

I know as rangers fans we expect success all the time, but our club has been through and is still going through some very very hard times. Warburton has come to rangers with a long term vision and not a short term fix. He has got all age groups playing 4-3-3 so that they can progress and fit straight into the first team, so if he changes tactics now all the work he put in place when he first came in has been for nothing and has to start again. We can't spend millions anymore and need to develop our own players and to me this is the best to go about it. I truely believe Warburtons impact won't be appreciated until he leaves.

1.) 28 Oct 2016 01:27:53
And the under 21s are getting hammered almost every week, his 'long term vision' would probably suit Hamilton Accies, but not us.

2.) 28 Oct 2016 08:05:51
Wee-ecky, the current under 21's are made up of 17 year olds. our best young players are out on loan.

3.) 28 Oct 2016 08:08:28
yes the under 21s full of 16/ 17 year old son playing against teams who play over 21s every game.

4.) 28 Oct 2016 08:39:15
It is true that our youngsters are playing against older players, but that is not always a good thing. Yes it is good for the experience factor, but not for a winning mentality. The team should have a nucleus of more experienced youths to assist the younger players through games.
Unless you are competing in games, heads can go down, especially when defeat is a regular feature.

5.) 28 Oct 2016 08:55:56
Out hard times won't last forever. The light at end of tunnel will get. Brighter. Patience is needed.

6.) 28 Oct 2016 09:36:17
Do you really think getting beat most weeks is good for the development of those young players? A big part of football is confidence and it must be disheartening for those boys to be losing so often and can't do their development much good.

7.) 28 Oct 2016 11:01:42
What you say may or may not be true but the reality is that a large section of Rangers fans won't give him time as they wan't success now and will not accept playing second best to Celtic.

This is the nature of the beast when you manage either half of the OF.

8.) 28 Oct 2016 08:48:36
Wee-ecky, did you not read and understand the superb post that grayninho has just written? THE KEY WORD MATE, 'TIME'. Also in your case along with a small minority, 'PATIENCE'! On your rant about the under 21's, try reading onlyshowarounds' post he's spot on! If you listened to warbs many months ago now he explained WHY our 17 year olds would be playing for our under 21 team. You and a few others should engage in what our club is doing and all for the benefit of the future!

9.) 28 Oct 2016 09:46:41
Great post grayninho. Unfortunately no gers manager will ever get time to build a team. I've got a feeling the man will be hounded out of ibrox and we will never know if his long term goal would have been a success.

10.) 28 Oct 2016 11:41:47
Back in the day, players used to break into the first team before reaching 20. Now with all the aced my thing they seem to spend most of the time gaining experience at a lower level. As for the 16/ 17 year old getting beat regularly-- surely winning regularly is as important as 'learning' and builds confidence. OOPS forgot we do the same at all levels and the first team don't win very often either!

11.) 28 Oct 2016 14:16:47
our youth teams don't need to be winning as long as a few gems get the help they need to get into the team because let's face it most of them will end up elsewhere and we will pick only the most talented that's the whole point of youth teams so winning mentality has nothing to do with it.
I also think 4-3-3 isn't something we must stick to to play a style of football we could still be attack minded with a 4-4-2 or a 4-5-1.

12.) 28 Oct 2016 15:29:08
James Stirling

You can't seriously be saying that it's ok not to win games at under 20 level! Players will get sickened constantly losing and that will effective development.

13.) 29 Oct 2016 12:35:09
So lads how long do we give his long term plan if we're not getting results? 3 years,5,10? This is mainly to cee, supercooper and James Stirling just an honest answer of how long you would give him if our results don't pick up?

20 Jul 2016 09:09:16
Can't believe I missed the first half last night due to that bloody chaos on the mate >: ( got to Ibrox just in time for the second half, took my grandad along as he doesn't get to go to much games now. We did both enjoy ourselves even if it was only for 45mins and although the team were a little bit rusty it was still great football to watch (well from rangers side of things, hate teams that set up with 10/ 11 behind the ball)

23 Jun 2016 00:14:08
If Gilks does sign, I hope we don't bring in another keeper. Surely Liam Kelly is a sufficient 3rd choice and I would like to see Robby McCrorie eventually come through the ranks.

Also I have always been abit sceptical of big Wes but looking back at the semi-finally he pulled of a couple of cracking saves (the freekick and from Rogic near the end of extra time) . I think with a good defense infront of him he can come on leaps and bounds.

What are your thoughts fellow bears?

P. S. does anyone know whta is happeneing with Aird? (I personally I would like him to stay)

1.) 23 Jun 2016 01:16:07
Aird signed with Vancouver Whitecaps for a season long loan on 29th June 2016. So he'll be back for January.

Also agree with Liam Kelly, not seen him at all but apparently he had an amazing season for East fife last year, during his loan. Surely he's got a bit of talent to compete!

2.) 23 Jun 2016 02:10:29
I totally understand where people r coming from regarding wes as sometimes he makes me nervous but that's the way we play from the back. He's still young for a keeper and has made some cracking saves last season and I agree he'll come on leaps n bounds with a more solid defence. I'm not comparing him to goram but even the goalie had a terrible start.

3.) 23 Jun 2016 02:52:53
Very average keeper that will be shown up in premiership.

4.) 23 Jun 2016 08:20:44
FabioDelDuca. Signed a deal 6 days in the future? Who else has signed even though they haven't signed get.

5.) 23 Jun 2016 09:26:19
Think Aird is on loan until january?

22 Apr 2016 06:26:43
Just a quick question to everyone who says they don't want Cumming anywhere near Rangers, if the hat did sign Cummings would it make you feel differently towards the manage? Personally I hope he does come to Ibrox.

1.) 22 Apr 2016 07:30:24
If the manager thinks he can do a job and he can control him, then I fully trust him. For as annoying as he is he knows where the goal is and has the work rate.

2.) 22 Apr 2016 09:31:46
Well, he'd need to pull his socks up if he did. I mean that literally, not figuratively. We don't do this half sock thing. Some Hibs players in the past have fitted into the Rangers mould, Colin Stein, Kenny Miller, and some Celtic, Scott Brown, Leigh Griffiths. I see Cummings in the Celtic mould by virtue of the fact that we're already having discussions about how annoying he is to a majority of Rangers fans. Stubbs wouldn't allow a Rangers move anyway and Cummings would likely join Scott Allan on the Celtic bench, academy, stand, wherever.

3.) 22 Apr 2016 09:43:05
I'm with you gray. Said month ago when we were in for MOH that I personally would prefer Cummings. I know it didn't go down well but in my opinion he is an actual striker. Something we do need.

4.) 22 Apr 2016 10:11:04
Whoever the gaffer brings to the club will be made welcome, I trust warburton 100% in his judgement of any player, btw whoever gave the gaffer abuse after the hibs game when warbs stopped for petrol is a disgrace, we, re not going to win every game of football we play but to abuse him is shocking.

5.) 22 Apr 2016 09:47:37
if the manager signed him he would have done his homework on him which would surpass any of his alledged misdimeanours that i have heard about afterall he has been 100% with his signings so far.

6.) 22 Apr 2016 11:38:43
Hes the wrong striker for us imo, but I am not a football manager.

7.) 22 Apr 2016 13:33:41
Delboy: Don't think it was abuse, more someone saying the match was a disgrace. However still a disgrace in itself to say that to the manager.

8.) 22 Apr 2016 13:39:14
A relevant analogy would be Jamie Vardy. Widely regarded as a pain in the neck, not to be touched and therefore nobody took him. Ranieri clearly knows how to make him tick and get the best out of him.

The hat is always on the look out for a diamond in the rough, so if he feels he can get the best out him then that would be good enough for me despite my personal opinion of the player.

Before everyone breaks the internet by saying I am comparing Vardy and Cummings, I am not. Merely saying that every player will perform at his best if you know what buttons to push and how to push them.

9.) 22 Apr 2016 13:44:52
That is the point in a nutshell jfc. Good enough for The Hat means he is good enough for Rangers means he is good enough for me. As long as he bangs in the goals and doesn't get in the news for the wrong reasons and I couldn't see care less what he did in the past.

10.) 22 Apr 2016 13:10:09
He's got talent but so did riordan, O'Connor and McManus.

I live in Edinburgh and although I don't know the guy iv spoken to people that do know him- the word bam comes up quite a lot.

Only player I would take from championship is valks from falkirk. If price is right.

11.) 22 Apr 2016 16:42:46

What do you mean the wrong striker for us? We need someone who can put the ball in the net and for all this faults he knows how to do that especially against us. He is better than some of the players we have so I don't see any issues with trying to get him.

12.) 23 Apr 2016 06:49:43
Boys a goal scorer no doubt, would score a barrel load in our team, keeps brylcream in business these day with that hairdoo too.

13.) 23 Apr 2016 07:24:42

We have waghorn if we are signing another striker we need a big powerful one who can win a header and through himself about like hemmings, jutkewitkz, juanma, Lee Gregory etc.

I'm not saying sign these exact players but someone like it.

After seeing the 'meme' sent to Scott Brown abput his sister I want nothing to do with the minority. These fans make you embarrassed that you can have anything in common with them. Thankfully the majority of both Rangers and Celtic fans are good people that at the end of the day when the football is over can get along. Get riled up for 90 minutes of football against your biggest rivals creates a fantastic atmosphere on Old Firm day but mocking someone for losing a loved one to cancer is disgusting. The culprit should never be aloud anywhere near our great stadium ever again.

totally agree onlyshow, was at the game last night and was saying to the Mrs that it's horrible watching teams play with 10-11 men behind the ball like the rest of the SPFL teams used to do during the Advocaat era. Progres need to score at home so hopefully push out at the back a bit more. I think if we had got a 2nd last night and forced them to try an attack we could have got 4 or 5. Also what I have seen from Dalcio (Coleraine and last night) McKay should be in the team

Hooly you it looks like you are saying Lennon achieved more than Smith and McLeish?
McLeish is statistically one of the best managers to have graced the SPL.
However, I do agree with your point that not many recent Old Firm managers have gone on to bigger or better things.

wouldn't have been many hibs fans attacking him if he played in the cup final haha.
