Striker Fran Sol of Willem II seems to be on our radar, according to a Dutch guy I know who works in Spain. He doesn't know much about football, admittedly, but in his job he meets people, hears things. anyone know anything about this guy?

dutycalls

1.) 16 Jul 2018 19:48:49
Not sure but my family live in tilburg home too Willem II, il get on the jungle drums

2.) 16 Jul 2018 20:08:20
Just seem you tube clips penalty box striker decent in air!

3.) 16 Jul 2018 22:18:17
Anyone know if Cardoso is training with us or is he back in Portugal looking for a club?

4.) 16 Jul 2018 22:56:26
fran sol does look decent in the air but.

his names ortiz and he’s spanish. that give me the fear!?

5.) 16 Jul 2018 23:30:03
Might be worth a punt this Fran Sol who is Spanish and started at Real Madrid, scored 20 goals last season including three against PSV and a couple against FC Twente, scored against Ajax and is valued around 2m, I think 20 goals in his 37 games played is a good return as the Dutch league is about par with ours.

6.) 17 Jul 2018 00:36:58
Trev no7 I didn't know he was Spanish but it would fit in with my source who is Dutch and works in Madrid as a journalist. And buzultra's info makes me curious as to whether there is actually mileage in the rumour he shared with me. Seems to be a pretty sharp striker, this boy.

7.) 17 Jul 2018 00:41:32
The Dutch league is not on par with ours. It’s miles better. Ajax just reached a European final last season.

8.) 17 Jul 2018 03:01:57
He turned down Burnley and Cardiff. Rumoured to also have turned down a host of other clubs in Europe because he wants to return to Spain. Probably a non-starter for this guy

9.) 17 Jul 2018 08:16:04
Like CD ranger, i watched fran sol's goals on YouTube. He looks an accomplished finisher, that's for sure!

10.) 17 Jul 2018 09:11:27
Sol was invited down to watford and rejected them also he said they were nothing special and he wants a move to a winning team. Come and join the winning team RFC

11.) 17 Jul 2018 09:48:30
Just watched the goals on you tube there and the guy fran sol looks a pretty good goalscorer-good in the air scores with both feet and certainly knows where the goal is hope there is truth in this and go after this guy could be what we r missing

12.) 17 Jul 2018 09:53:01
This guy looks calibre of the Jellyfish. Yes please

13.) 17 Jul 2018 10:51:48
He wants to go to la liga either seville or rayo vallecano

14.) 17 Jul 2018 22:05:36
After seeing this evening what our options are up front, I really hope my man in Madrid has heard right!

13 Jul 2018 18:47:19
I've just returned from business in Liverpool where a senior LFC employee told me at a non-football related lunch that the word is Gerrard was 'astounded' at the lack of talent at Ibrox, the drastic shortage of fitness of most of the squad and the shambolic manner in which the club's admin and media areas are run. He cited Mark Allen as the only professional in the place and said the club needs a 'deep clean'. I believe the guy.

dutycalls

1.) 13 Jul 2018 19:26:41
Sounds about right to me

2.) 13 Jul 2018 19:49:16
I should add that in this bloke's opinion, Gerrard would rely heavily on his old club's expertise over the coming months and one phrase attributed to Gerrard was that there was no 'oomph' about Ibrox and that he would have to energise the place. I really don't think Gerrard knew the real size of the task he's taken on.

3.) 13 Jul 2018 19:50:41
Sounds bang on

4.) 13 Jul 2018 20:01:52
Don’t believe he was slating the club like that for a minute, wouldn't be very professional would it and from what I have seen is Gerrard is very professional, and not really the way to get the players playin for him is it.

5.) 13 Jul 2018 20:52:50
cant say i was overly impressed with the players level of fitness last night players looked knackered last 15 mins

6.) 13 Jul 2018 21:01:27
I think anyone who followed Rangers last season could see that too

7.) 13 Jul 2018 21:06:29
I 100% agree with what u are sayin, but what I don’t believe that Gerrard came out and said that regardless how true it is

8.) 13 Jul 2018 21:54:31
While I doubt Gerrard said these things maybe the guy OP talked to just infered them from a conversation with him?

Not saying I believe what OP said, everything said here has to be taken with a whole shovel full of salt but whether Gerrard said them or not it still rings true.

9.) 13 Jul 2018 21:56:58
Don’t see how saying what he said is slaying the club at all. Simply stating something that’s pretty obvious

10.) 13 Jul 2018 22:10:46
So someone who is a profesional sports would be happy with this, if your boss said your just not that good, u need to give me more, your bringing company down, would that give u a boost at work? No would feel rubbish n n unfair, regardless how we no it’s true, how is he going to get they to play for the team if they thought he said that about them?

11.) 14 Jul 2018 00:39:57
I can believe it was said and I get what you’re saying about “lack of oomph” but for me the major difference is comparing our club to Liverpool atm is like comparing night and day! They play in the premier league in England one of the elite leagues in Europe and just reached the cream of the crop of European football- the champions league, our club plays in a diddy league and couldn’t get past the first round of Europa League last season! Fact is we do need someone to come in who has direction to take our club forward- our club is seeped in greatness but is now clueless on a direction for success! If Gerrard did say this it’s believable, I just hope he is knee deep wanting to fix it- he can’t do it on his own he needs a strong back room staff to help (that’s why Pedro had no chance)
This isn’t a slate on our club more like beginning to fix the problems of making our club great again, this is THE route of our problems
Furthermore this comparison can also be made with THEM, they couldn’t begin to believe they are on any wavelength with any top flight side down south, they’ve been getting away with murder with Brendan Rodgers crew holding their Mickey Mouse operation together for years- a matter of time before they find out they’re not in any better position than us!

12.) 13 Jul 2018 22:33:43
i still think we are bang average team. We have spent nothing on the grand scheme of things.

Shagger is a step up but that's about it.

13.) 13 Jul 2018 23:29:21
Absolute Gumph u talk

14.) 14 Jul 2018 00:19:09
Think that’s pretty obvious from the fact he’s letting loads of players go. Pretty sure he’s sat them down and said thanks but no thanks. No matter how nicely he puts it’s he’s still saying most of them aren’t good enough and that’s because it’s true

15.) 14 Jul 2018 08:54:45
Loads of players go? There’s not that many that has left

16.) 14 Jul 2018 09:39:18
14 player have left and I would think a few more to follow if we can off load them, I'd say that's quite a lot would you not chipsandgravy?

17.) 14 Jul 2018 12:20:40
The ones that really need to go is
Hodson
Halliday
Cardoso
Herrera
Fod looks to be goin
That’s ones that were in about first team
And a few of what you talki are away on loan so hardly gon as they will be back

18.) 14 Jul 2018 13:15:12
I think we have to get rid of the deadwood at all levels of the running of the club

ITS A JOKE

ADMIN, Media and Marketing should be one of the priorities at this massive club

A Club the size of Rangers should be ran properly and only time will tell whether Dave King is even fit for purpose as he has also made a few cock ups of his own!

On the transfer front he is doing okay but then you have to look at lots more from youth right up to Advertising and getting the branding right out there

We also need proper and I mean proper scouting for overseas and not just in the UK

19.) 14 Jul 2018 13:22:40
chips and gravy, steak pie, pie and bovril, chilli n achos? are you all the same guy? starvin now!

20.) 14 Jul 2018 15:55:54
Just the one account for me brian, totally different views to these dudes!
SG obviously is very professional at what he does but it would be very unprofessional to say someone is up to the job if they are not or to say there doing well when there not! Players need to know that if they ain't good enough they will be gone, only way to keep them performing week in week out! He's got to be ruthless if he wants to win things, something with previous managers have lacked over the past few seasons!

21.) 14 Jul 2018 16:41:28
He has let loads go and he wants more to go. He’s not there to make players that aren’t good enough feel wanted

22.) 15 Jul 2018 09:31:31
was at the skhupi game. rangers players looked unfit, either a result of overworked training from a new eager manager or just lack of real fitness training from previous manager only time will tell. i'm assuming the later and giving stevie g the benefit of the doubt. from the look of the game we still need center forward, (hopefully omar up to it) but not convinced from youtube. and a central ball playing midfielder hopefully lassana. so it does look like gerrard addressing the issues in team. the 2 main positives from the game . we won the ball back quickly apart fromjust after ht. and middleton wow impressed keep it up.

23 Jun 2018 14:45:44
Andy Scoulding has his eye on Sergi Canos, a young right winger currently at Brentford. The lad was once once on the books of Barcelona and Liverpool, where he knew Gerrard. Scoulding had him watched a couple of times at the end of last season, but no doubt watched others too. But maybe Gerrard has asked about him?

dutycalls

1.) 23 Jun 2018 15:25:38
Brentford🤔 deja vu. 🙈

2.) 23 Jun 2018 16:23:32
I’m sure we were linked with him when warbs was here.

3.) 23 Jun 2018 16:44:24
Good player would gladly take him

4.) 23 Jun 2018 17:29:05
Didn't know anything about this rumour and I've just signed the boy for 3.5mil from Brentford on fm18. A sign?

5.) 24 Jun 2018 03:30:42
With Murphy arfield and candeias. Also Middleton and even given atakayi a chancein the wide position if we can sell windass and bring sergio canos in to play behind morelos who knows what could happen giving he was a spannish youth international with great potential

6.) 24 Jun 2018 19:54:35
The boy middleton definitely should get chance.

7.) 24 Jun 2018 21:08:35
Toral was a spanish youth player and he's not that great.

09 Jun 2018 20:21:34
I've just been told by text that Blackpool want Kenny Miller and part of the deal is that he helps with the coaching at their academy. Decent source, friend of Derek and Barry Ferguson.

dutycalls

1.) 09 Jun 2018 21:42:17
Nothing sensational about this. Miller has a tonne of offers on the table.

2.) 09 Jun 2018 22:38:30
He’s just passing on a rumour he never claimed it was sensational.

3.) 09 Jun 2018 23:08:00
Jackson is a free agent and would score for fun over here but see where this ends up.

4.) 09 Jun 2018 23:29:07
Really?

5.) 09 Jun 2018 23:50:49
nothing to do with us anymore

6.) 10 Jun 2018 00:02:54
Who said it was sensational? Just passing on what I've heard. Sorry if it offended your sensationalist senses.

7.) 10 Jun 2018 03:56:52
Jackson who? :-)

Good to see our Under 19s have won the FC Viktoria tournament in the Czech Republic. Our youngsters are certainly being properly groomed these days.

dutycalls

1.) 15 Jul 2018 19:06:44
I’m on holiday and was watching it with a mixed crowd, even the Croatian fans were agreeing? The OP has meme lost for words, I though he was at the wind up?

2.) 15 Jul 2018 20:13:27
Astounding. Some of our fans disagree that our under 19s are doing well and have won a prestigious tournament! Or maybe there's an infestation of idiots?

3.) 15 Jul 2018 20:34:03
Is that muppet Murty involved with the under 19?

4.) 16 Jul 2018 08:15:55
"Muppet Murty" you really don't have a clue, -this is a guy who's very good at his job I. e. discovering young footballers with potential and developing that potential-look at recent youth team results and how do you think we got Middleton? . He also seems a decent and honourable man.

5.) 16 Jul 2018 10:45:39
Yately show some respect. He is one of us

6.) 16 Jul 2018 15:31:10
Agree jboy good at his job with dev elopement teams. Never a first team manager but he should never have been thrown in at deep end to begin with?

31 May 2018 14:46:55
I was speaking to a former associate who works in the media in Liverpool and he says that Gerrard's stated playing philosophy was what he described as the TIE method: Technique, Intensity, Energy. That's what he was teaching Liverpool youths and that's what he'll bring to us. My friend also said Gerrard has that presence about him that makes people want to do as he asks, that he is a motivator, and doesn't suffer fools at all. Can't wait!

dutycalls

1.) 31 May 2018 15:37:54
His style will mirror that the current Liverpool philosophy. I just hope the board keep there promise to fund the players that will be good enough to play to this style and tempo.

2.) 31 May 2018 18:39:46
dutycalls/ scotty113 reading your posts regarding energy and tempo, training on Gullane sands comes to mind, i. e. Jock Wallace training.

3.) 31 May 2018 19:58:25
TIE method: Technique, Intensity, Energy. Absoulutly lovin this Stevie has brought some buzz to our club . he cannot fail. it will not happen that he fails
LETS GO

08 Dec 2017 09:40:54
The club's statement is quite clear. Rangers asked Aberdeen permission to speak to McInnes to assess his willingness to consider the job. The answer in a statement from Aberdeen was that at this stage in his career, it would be best for him to remain in his current post. We asked, they put it to him, he soiled his pants with fright and said no. Rangers manager? Never in a million years.

It's not Hardie the gaffer fancies from the younger group, it's Rudden and Middleton. Both have far more potential than Hardie.

I'm also hearing that we've told his club we'd be willing to pay £1.5m for him and they laughed. Suggestion is that it would take four times that (£6m) to even get them to listen.

Some of you nationalist-minded 'fans' on here would rather see us stuck in a mire of mediocrity as long as we were signing 'Scots'. Rhodes and McCormack? You must be joking! I want to see my team attract the highest possible calibre of players and not just any has-been or never-will-be who happens to be of a particular nationality. Why do you guys want a quota of rubbish 'Scots' (many of whom haven't played up here for years), rather than good quality players? Following the party line, are you?
