A move to Stoke seems to be on the horizon for Berahino. Ali Crawford being spoken to about a pre-contract but very much early days. Toral still expected to move. Warburton still in the market for a striker and a goalkeeper if Gilks goes. Expect no business outside of these positions unless someone much better than what we have before available.

04 Jan 2017 20:33:03
Ali Crawford now retweets a message about coming home to the blueside of Glasgow. I was confident a few weeks ago when I posted that he was coming. Now feel like its pretty much a certainty. He can be the spark we need. A decent cb, cdm and striker would be ideal.

1.) 04 Jan 2017 20:45:00
I hope you're wrong mate. Don't get me wrong he's a decent wee player but don't think he's much better than what we have, he'd just end up a squad player. We need players that are going to noticeably make a difference to our starting 11.

2.) 04 Jan 2017 21:05:55
i'd take ally crawford before any youngster on a 6mth loan deal if were honest our midfield this season has been pretty much our original 4th 5th 6th choice midfielders adding quality to midfield will hopefully take pressure off our defence as far to many times this season halliday n co lose posession in very silly areas.

3.) 04 Jan 2017 21:36:53
I think Crawford is better at Accies than Naisy was at Killie. He has been carrying Accies on his back for a couple years now and is capable of changing games single handedly, something we really lack.

4.) 04 Jan 2017 21:37:10
Crawford is young and has the potential to develop. I would be delighted to see him at Rangers alongside Jota and the young Arsenal lad. We need to up the quality of player we have at the club right now.

Players like Halliday were ok in the Championship but are out of their depth in the Premier League.

5.) 04 Jan 2017 23:46:21
I don't know y Crawford is getting suchome a hard time, the fact is if he goes south to the championship he will move on to a bigger club for a substantial fee! He's a real good young scottish player and better than the majority we have at our disposal (windass and rossiter excluded) so I hope this happens 10%.

6.) 04 Jan 2017 23:46:35
100% even.

7.) 05 Jan 2017 00:40:13
I've said it many times, if we have a modicum of ambition, players like Crawford (and I watch Accies regularly) would never get near a Rangers jersey. He's just not good enough, end of.

8.) 05 Jan 2017 09:43:15
Lansbury is the guy we should be pulling out all the stops to sign but it now looks like Celtic are favourites to sign him. With King in charge we will fall further and further behind them. The guy either has no money or no ambition for the club.
Add to this his appalling attempts to negate the Sports Direct contracts when a friendly renegotiation for the benefit of both parties would have been more beneficial.
Where is all the transparency and where is all the King funding that was promised. So far the Three Bears and the Far East guys appear to be the only ones parting with cash.

9.) 05 Jan 2017 11:21:56
How can you say appalling attempts to renegotiate with Sports Direct. Friendly negotiation is just not in Ashley's mindset, the guy is a ruthless business individual who has the contracts LEGALLY watertight in his favour, thanks to the dross who were in charge of our club before the present board, I'm sorry to say we will not be rid of Sports Direct for another 6 years or until Ashley decides to get out, but it is not about money for him, he is screwing us into the ground simply because he can.

10.) 05 Jan 2017 13:19:35
I posted that Ali Crawford will sign for rangers but it's looking likely it will either be burton or charlton.

11.) 05 Jan 2017 14:14:00
Burton Albion is about his level. Nowhere near good enough for us.

12.) 05 Jan 2017 15:51:14
How can you be so against Ali Crawford? I don't understand. Were you against Naisy when he came from Killie? That Hamilton team wouldn't even be in the top 4 in the championship yet he has single-handedly kept them up. He is a fantastic player, much better than we have.

13.) 05 Jan 2017 20:26:42
He's not even close to what naismith was like at killie in my opinion Crawfords a decent player if we want to stay as we are but if we want to kick on and improve we must aim higher.

14.) 05 Jan 2017 21:20:14
I am not 'against' anybody, what an absurd suggestion. Naismith was miles better then than Crawford is now. The lad's an average player who will find his level in England's second or third tier. Have you actually seen him or Accies? Imagine suggesting that Crawford single handedly kept them up! Lolol!

15.) 05 jan 2017 22:06:52
colshygers, are you for real? jon toral is miles in front of ali crawford with ease mate! i quite like crawford but he's not in the same league as toral! honestly i don't know what some of you guys see! anyone with half a football brain, knows toral by a distance is better than crawford!

05 Dec 2016 10:37:22
I have heard there is a chance we will make a move to sign Ali Crawford in January, and if we don't get him that the interest won't end there. Not a particularly reliable source ad its from the Accies end rather than the Rangers end. Would be happy if true however.

1.) 05 Dec 2016 16:59:03
Why do we want to sign players like this man, we are going to be in Celtics shadows for a long long time if we don't sign players better than our own already.

2.) 05 Dec 2016 17:34:03
He's streets ahead of our 'goalscoring' midfielders. If you watched any amount of Hamilton games in the last few years you'll notice how good he is.

3.) 05 Dec 2016 18:21:10
I watch Hamilton regularly. We need to be far more ambitious than Crawford, a very average player.

4.) 05 Dec 2016 18:40:25
I like Crawford think he'd be a good addition to the team.

5.) 05 Dec 2016 20:44:06
Very average? No disrespect but as a fellow occasional watcher of Hamilton I think he is single-handedly keeping Accies in the league. Would welcome him, especially as he knows the league and would not take any time to get up to speed.

6.) 06 Dec 2016 14:11:20
What kind of statement is that R4NG3R5? An example mate. Where did celtic get armstrong from? Because ali crawford currently plays for hamilton accies doesn't mean he can't go on to be a very good player for rangers! Every signing is a gamble!

7.) 06 Dec 2016 20:39:05
As I said, I've seen Crawford, watched him more closely since he was first linked with Rangers, saw nothing that excites me. Average player with nohing to suggest he has in him the level of improvement he would need to play for us.

8.) 06 Dec 2016 20:07:22
Remember james mcarthur and james mcCarthy came through the hamilton accies ranks and look at the level these 2 players are playing at! Ali crawford would be a good signing for us imo!

9.) 07 Dec 2016 00:08:02
Both of those players were miles ahead of Crawford. They were the talk of the place since they were kids and a blind man going past the park on a bus could have spotted their talent. Crawford's not even close, never will be.

What a dreadful performance, again showing how far behind our rivals we are.

Totally dominate minute till the last, Fodernigham get pass marks and that's pushing it as far as positives go.

As for negatives? Well anyone of Celtic's outfield players would be an improvement on ours, that's been evident since day 1 but maybe more people will realise that now. We created nothing for most of the game and when we did carve out chances Waghorn (who is worse than Adam Rooney and Boyce never mind Griffiths and Dembele) wasted them.

Outfought, outplayed and outthought.

For the split let's give Beerman, Bates, Doodoo and any other young boy with a future a run. We may as well because other than the young boys and the goalie, who is worth keeping next season? And also, please please never play Halliday again, he an Iain Black.

1.) 23 Apr 2017 14:27:03
Decent post and it amazes me how Halliday and Waghorn get near that team. Waghorn missed 2 sitters at Celtic park and misses another 2 today. How many times is he going to blast the ball over for 6 or 7 yards? As for Halliday he has been poor all season so it's not surprising he was poor again today and got hooked at half time. Showed very little interest

17 Apr 2017 12:51:34
Who would you bin, who would you try bring in?

If I was pedro it would be goodbye to -
Garner/ Waghorn (not both)
McKay (if we get over £3mil which is a push) .

I cannot have an idea of all his targets but I would definitely bring in -
A. Crawford,
Liam Lindsay,

Add into that a new RB, striker, another cb and another winger and i'd be happy. The boys I've mentioned would bring some real stability and domestic talent who know the league, then add some flair and talent on top to take us to the next level.

1.) 17 Apr 2017 13:41:26
I'd say goodbye to halliday, but he would probably walk back in the door

2.) 17 Apr 2017 16:03:31
Alnwick (Liam Kelly is more than capable to be back up to fod)

Bring in:
Stevie mallan
Liam Lindsay
Jason Cummings

And a more experienced centre half and centre mid.

3.) 17 Apr 2017 16:30:38
I would keep hill for another year. As for the four boys you would bring in spoc, I don't think they are any better than what we have, and they certainly wouldn't help us compete with celtic. It all depends on the budget I suppose.

4.) 17 Apr 2017 16:38:53
Spoc, you really don't have much ambition for our club, do you? The four players you want the manager to bring in are already playing at the highest level they will ever reach, and that's mediocre. Pedro has to build a squad capable of winning the league and maintaining European places in the next two years. These players wouldn't take us anywhere near that. In fact they'd be lucky to get a game right now, never mind next season.

5.) 17 Apr 2017 20:50:50
The successful rangers team of recent times have always had solid talent with better players on top. McCulloch, Whittaker, Edu, Papac, Weir, Thomson. its a long list. We need a solid group we can rely on.

6.) 17 Apr 2017 22:33:23
Liam Lindsay will be a Scotland international. It's a certainty

7.) 18 Apr 2017 00:03:04
Being a Scotland international isn't much of an accolade these days. Especially when it's the same old favorites picked

8.) 18 Apr 2017 09:16:05
Spoc, I agree with those that should leave but I want to see a significantly higher calibre of player arrive at Rangers than most of those that you have suggested.

9.) 18 Apr 2017 10:03:21
I could get a game for Scotland so that's no biggy.

10.) 18 Apr 2017 10:14:03
He is the best centre back in Scotland out with celtic and rangers. Easily.

11.) 18 Apr 2017 10:18:54
I don't want any Scottish based players, I hope the gaffer has a few players he knows from abroad, but time will tell.

12.) 18 Apr 2017 12:03:16
I would bring in
Liam Lindsay or micky devlin

Along with the Ghana cb and a good striker and another mid

Get rid of

Next year team
Ghana cb

Lindsay or Devlin
New mid
New striker

13.) 18 Apr 2017 16:51:16
If you want to play for scotland join celtic.

14.) 18 Apr 2017 18:05:26
Benny0812 no Beerman? Have you consigned him back to the under 20s?

15.) 18 Apr 2017 20:00:46
Bergman was meant to read beerman

20 Feb 2017 08:15:46
This attitude of 'we have to learn to accept failure' is totally wrong. If Aberdeen or Hearts had the budget that we had and could afford to spend £1.8million on a single player then I fear to think how far ahead of us they would be. Regardless of where we have been, a club our size, with our budget, should be nearer 1st than 12th (points wise) . It has been an abysmal season and we deserve better.

1.) 20 Feb 2017 08:23:53
That'll be why we sacked/ let go/ Who knows our manager, assistant manager and Head of Recruitment. We all know it's been a shambles. We were never meant to spend so much this year, but Warbs insisted on it.

2.) 20 Feb 2017 09:20:57
The manager was sacked because he wanted a move elsewhere. Very much doubt he would have been sacked before season's end otherwise. Besides, I meant the attitude of some fans

3.) 20 Feb 2017 09:21:29
what you say about it being a shambles is true but our great club was used and abused by White, Green, Ashley and the old board. We have not totally wasted the last five years but it's been close. The club needs strong leadership with clear goals. If Bates is not better then Keirnan then he has no future at Rangers. Give youth a chance, give one of them the last 15 minutes of a home game. Our two big signings of MOH and JG have been disappointing so we have not much to lose and everything to gain.

4.) 20 feb 2017 09:57:58
murray wasted it. who would sell the worlds most succesful football club for £1, why did dave king no buy it for the £1 as he had the chance to back then.

5.) 20 Feb 2017 10:27:08
Lance, King knew what trouble we were in. Also Murray sold it to Whyte, someone who was banned from being a director, Murray didn't even look into Whyte. Don't have a moan at King for not buying us for a £1, have a moan at Murray for doing a runner.

6.) 20 Feb 2017 12:01:33
Murray sold Rangers for £18M. The nominal sum of £1 was for the assets on the basis that the bank debt would be paid back! The business was insolvent and the assets effectively worthless hence the £1 nominal fee.

7.) 20 feb 2017 12:37:00
onlyshadow, i'm having a moan at murray, but king came in and started from fresh and according to most the club are now in as much debt now as they were then. why do most rangers fans want these ex people in charge, king and paul murray were on that board that put the club out of buisness.

had the chance of the american guys cash and fans told him where to go! why? what connection did souness, smith or mcleish have with the club before they arrived.

8.) 20 Feb 2017 16:47:23
It amazes me that everyone is blaming the management team, and not a word against king, and don't forget most supporters, even the finest puntits (Keevins and Johnstone) said Rangers would win the league, warburton wears a magic hat, and can get players from the lower leagues and turn them into superstars. How much really has been spent and if king I recall king was flapping his gums about a mass spent on the January window

9.) 20 Feb 2017 16:51:35
@onlyshow - the board are as complicit by giving him the additional funds to spend.

10.) 20 Feb 2017 20:09:36
too many players hididng

19 Feb 2017 17:07:13
We are simply dreadful. Another terrible, heartless display. Murty is inept, we are atrocious. 6 points ahead of fourth. Can't believe there is people on here who earlier said we could beat Celtic. Hilarious. We are so shocking.

1.) 19 Feb 2017 17:13:35
We are absolute honking I don't think dynamo magician could do much with that team we have, its hard to see us improving without some proper leadership from the very top

12 Feb 2017 17:11:54
Hands up, I thought Morton would get a result today and they never. Very nearly did though and we were not much better than them, which i'm not surprised by.

The clamour for McLeish is embarrassing, he was rightfully punted the first time and has been a failure at most jobs since Scotland. He couldn't even last a season in Egypt. Celtic have a really really good manager, and that is what we need. If we are going bargain basement, at least make it Tommy Wright.

1.) 12 Feb 2017 21:51:47
Thought big Eck did a decent enough job against a strong Celtic under O'Neill and he did take Birmingham into the top 10 of the EPL and beat Arsenal in a League Cup final.

He does seem to have lost his way though in recent years but I'd take him over Billy Davies any day of the week.

2.) 13 Feb 2017 18:36:33
Id prefer barry ferguson and mcinness as a team barry as coach and he would get the lads fighting for it going backwards is not the answer i'd even prefer hughes ti mcliesh

No we aren't. I watch Morton regularly. He cannot defend, he isn't on our radar. He used to hit the penalties, part of the reason he has so many goals! I love him but he's not even Morton's best Centre Half.

If we are looking at Morton players it should be Russel, Murdoch and Quintongo (although he's injured) .

Ohh a coach with some actual ideas who doesn't want to hump it beyond the fullbacks like your normal Scottish coaches. No wonder our players are getting a shock. They done it to PLG and they will try to do it to PC but our club needs to be modernised.

'They are beatable'

They have dropped 2 points all season, are unbeaten domestically and have a striker worth more than our entire squad. We need to get real, maybe, just maybe, Fods is better than Gordon. After that? Not one of our players would get a start for Celtic.

Major rebuild needed.

They totally dominated us from first minute till last minute and our chances came from their complacency. They looked like a team who are going to go unbeaten and win a treble. We look like a team with no trophies, no spirit and a 3rd place finish.

Brexit is going to make it more difficult to get Europeans as they will need Work Permits. Unless a player has a certain amount of caps they don't get automatic WPs. So it will, on theory, make it more difficult to get rough diamonds.

Aberdeen have done a piece of good business in getting Tansey. Murray Davidson would be not bad. We need to aim higher, but realistically we also need some players who will just come in and be good from game 1 and that know what its all about.
