Morning gents, I was looking through transfermarkt at Rangers wingers in the last 8/ 9 years and something that struck me was the complete lack of quality we've had.

Kent/ sima/ cerny to me are the 3 hight quality players and 2 of them aren't even our players. candies was decent for us but in a strange time.

Just for evidence i have g/ a average per games played for some wingers in that time period.

Sima-2.1
Matondo-3.5
Wright-6.3
Mad diallo-4.2
Middleton-2.9
Ojo-3.0
Candies-2.4

How ever you like to see football being played I like 2 wingers that can beat a player get low crosses into the box and the odd goal. Thoughts?

Diallo is the best of the lot tho he didn't show it at Rangers just too young.

Kent I wouldn't even put in with sima and Cerny.

I would put Kent in the Sima and Cerny category for two reasons, the title winning season and his performances in Europe the following season. He was unplayable in the Europa League run to the final.

In regards to diallo, Scottish football probably isn't what he needed at that point of his career. Kent had a poor last season but the rest of his work was really good.

I think part of the problem was our style of play relied on the 2 full backs getting up at providing but a good winger is essential to get the team up the pitch quickly actually good ball carriers are something we don't have.

Onewaltersmith - Garrard's style was very attacking full backs but since then probs since gio out full back don't contribute nearly as much, I personally think wingers playing high and wider midfield 8's attacking the space between wingers and striker and full backs tucking in narrow is the best way to beat a low block.

I agree we do need to get away from fb being our main creators and I'd be looking for 2 wingers this summer.
