Morning guys

How come Celtic can still manage to sell players getting there money back or selling for profit
Example kimball has hardly done anything yet there getting there cash back after he sealed a move to America

Eduard reportedly possible transfer to arsenal
just seems strange we never have big clubs coming in and just paying the money for our players that there worth over the last good few years it's always seems a struggle to get what we value them at
I know we don't want to lose any top players but still bothers me we never seem able to get clubs to offer the money for our players that there worth
How do Celtic manage it?
Season after season.

Eduoard has year left on contract and will get 15 mill for him. 40% of that profit has to go to psg. so they will make around 3 mill profit. But they have done very well selling players it has to be said. Taken in a lot of cash. That is what we will start to do. Buy low sell high.

Going by the click bait headline (🤭) , they will get their money back on Klimala with add ons. They shouldn't hold their breath as he is rank rotten.
Edouard is a technically gifted player but with 1 year left in his deal the Tims will get nowhere near the £40 million they used to quote for him. Plus PSG are due 40% of any profit over the £9 million Celtic paid 😳
Plus the Tim's have been the dominant side in Scotland recently putting their players in the shop window.
Now after 2 decent campaigns in the EL and winning 55, our players are now sought after as well.

Maybe just the luck of the draw and the fact they dominated the league for a decade .

Maybe things will change when we stay at the top in future seasons Stigno.

It comes back to the fact that until this season we hadn't won anything for years. If clubs are spending big money then they want players with a proven mentality. Being able to win trophies proves that.
Most of the players we've had the last 5 years have done nothing to suggest they were worth a big fee.
Hopefully the league win, continued improving performances in Europe and individuals performances for their national sides raises our likelihood of getting big fees. As well as being able to attract quality replacements.

Celtic seem to manage it with their players just playing well in scotland and being rank rotten in europe. Even players deemed not good enough and still recieving what was a gamble and waste of money back. Looks like celtic could be in a strong position regarding they spend well this summer. Can see next years league being closer. Question is can we lower our financial outgoings while still strengthening the team. Luckily we have stevie G's pulling power so hopefully we can push on again 👌.

When was the last time we sold an actual first choice player? For the last 5 years all our sales have been guys that weren't good enough for us that we haven't wanted so never likely to bring in much cash. They have sold 3 players for decent money over the past 5 years but have barely brought in anything from the rest that have moved on.

remember all these transfer fees that get reported are unconfirmed. Havent looked at deal but i'd reckon they will get about 1m and rest will be add ons totalling the 3.5m quoted. as someone said i doubt they will be triggered as he is garbage

look at the Frimpong deal, they reckoned the got 11mm for him but was no where near that. Broken down to around 6m ( still profit but some due to city ) rest is all add ons again.

{Ed002's Note - All transfer fees are recorded on the TMS. Some clubs simply don't want to share such information easily.}

In recent years Rangers have wasted money on over paying players not worth the money. We've not had many players of great value to sell. Now for the first time we have a team full of assets who are now also winners and worth much more than we paid. If Gerrard and his team continue their great work in finding and developing players who are capable of winning trophies and good European runs then our players values are only going to go up in price. I think this summer will prove we are heading in the right direction and we shall receive bids for our players giving our board something to think about because we need to start selling players to keep moving forward.

The details of big money transfer transactions is very scary with untold cost to the club,
Agents, lawyers, and all sorts. Have to be paid, Ed might have the details but I knits eye watering stuff.

{Ed001's Note - I try and avoid getting into the money side of transfers as it is so convoluted. Plus when you find out why Man Utd, for example, decided not to buy Jadon Sancho is because his agent was asking for a £50m fee, it just starts to put you off the game.}

Absolutely Ed, and thanks for the response.

That's a good post blueat55. I agree with what you've posted, and would say it's an accurate assumption.

Ed 001 what is and where can i find TMS to look into future transfer fees for players instead of rumoured ones being reported. Would be much appreciated as i know most transfer fees quoted are nothing like some like to spout.

{Ed001's Note - you can't, you would need to have access and it is not available to the general public. It is FIFA's 'transfer matching system' to keep track of all worldwide transfers. Just in case you do know someone who can grant you access, this is the link to the log in page.}

Thats interesting. Many thanks for the response ed 👌.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate. The lack of general access is why you can get such wildly varying figures quoted. It would be better for all if football was more transparent like American sports are.}
