So what do we do with tav? I agree its a waste of talent n stalling his progression on the bench. But tav is one of our most influential players on his game. We can't afford to loose Patterson tho, he is young and our future👌 I'd sell tav as he too good for bench and also due to age. U can only sell if u have suitors wanting to buy. The difference between tav n ping pong is unbelievable. Sure DD must have rich friends being a billionaire, spending money on DD's players just for a tax write off 😆😂 just a thought 💙💙💙.

Maybe the new manager will do what Gerrard couldn’t and fit them into the same team somehow. Both players have energy, pace and can score and assist goals. No reason why one can’t play further forward.

agree R1, remember it was Moldova aswell. So he done well against pub team. Not slating him he is class it is just unfortunate he is competing with the captain and our top scorer n assister for a large part of last season n that being a defender. Look at some of his goals aswell. No just penalties, a lot of belters. Hope Patterson is happy to sit it out play in cup games n come on as sub this season. Gerrard said he would find a way to get them both in the team. Maybe he meant by leaving for AV n paying the new manager to play them both😆 wonder if that contract clause where he supposedly got a percentage of the profit for any player he signed. Patterson is also excellent going forward, and, he can also defend, that's the clincher for me. I ask again, why can't Tavernier play a more forward role, he'd relish it I'm sure, he's a good player also though, so over to the New manager whoever it is.

So tav can't defend suddenly. He was a mainstay in world record breaking defence last yr. If we had quality defensive minded player covering for tav while going forward then ad think he wouldn't get caught out too often as it wouldn't result in a goal after maybe getting caught upfield once or twice in a game n we still concede. Can't blame tav their is 11 players on pitch and we should be defending as a team everyman from front to back like last season. Also can't blame tav as that is his role in the team n what he's bn asked to do. Think tavs bn made abit of a scapegoat here. Just last yr he's our player of yr, couple months later he should be dropped. If half the posters on here had their way Patterson would have bn sacked last yr for C.V. breach, along with bassey. Can you imagine how much worse our team would be if they got their way. Fans can be a fickle bunch n almost impossible to please. Never satisfied no matter how well they have it. Bring gio home 🙏💙.

Storm I said half the posters not specifically you, I kept quiet on that front due to my own CV views. But facts are a large majority of fans wanted them hung drawn n quartered. Just seems a funny statement saying tav can't defend considering he was a mainstay defender last season, part of the Best defensive unit ever in a season. Don't get me wrong I know his strengths are going forward and standard of opposition poor however he must have been doing something different from last year as we have already conceded more goals then we did all season. Or is he just the scape goat as the team have not been working as a collective unit defensive wise like last season. Tbh I think the keepers bn poor n bn more at fault for some of shots that are usually bread n butter compared with saves he would make effortlessly. Think McGregor be hanging up his gloves end the of the season. And u definitely can't say if tav wasn't in team we would have conceded less goals, only way of knowing that would be if he wasn't playing.

No doubt he would have a couple assist but He wouldn’t be beat Tavs numbers thts a cert, or his numbers from last season, Tav can defend as well tenner they broke our record for clean sheets last season with all those assist and missing a chunk of the season! Gerrard said Tav can’t play in the wide 10 as he’s junk with his back to goal, and if we go down the winger route with the new manager we have plenty of those already!

Patterson is a gem. . no where near his peak but what a player. Why SG never played him is beyond me.
