I think we should play 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 against Betis.

Souttar plays best as part of a back 3 with more commanding CBs next to him. This also covers for the fullbacks pushing forward, who would make up for our lack of dynamic wide players. Along the lines of.

Butland

Goldson
Souttar
Balogun/ Davies

Tav
Raskin
Cifuentes
Abrasive

Roofe
Danilo
Cantwell

I know we need to upgrade various positions in this team but that's not going to happen any time soon. There's too many mistakes in Tav, Goldson and Barasic. and Souttar too, though he's obviously not comfortable where he is. Here he'd be free to come out and win the ball back and pass it forward almost covering what Jack used to bring in his prime

He is getting it easy on here imo.

His current system if you can call it that is the worst brand of football I've seen for a while it's not achieved anything so far. Maybe a change to a back 3 could help us find our groove. Can't be any worse.
