Morning folks, As we are in the middle of what appears to be a pretty big rebuild. Can the folks in the know regarding our youth players advise, Do we have any ready to make the jump permanently to our 1st team? For me it seems we as a team are guilty of waiting until the boys are in there 20s before giving them a chance to break into the team. If you look around At other teams in our league and around Europe it's more the old saying if they're good enough then they're old enough. I think bringing more boys through ( if they're good enough) will leave us more money to buy the quality to assist them in building a team that could last a few years. Just a question folks, as I say, not really in the know regarding the youth apart from the boys who have made an appearance over the last season.

Agreed. i'd like to see Rice, Lovelace, Mckinnon and Frazer given a chance next season.
Im not to sure on Yfeko.
And if King, Devine and Lowery aren't in managers plans then get them loaned out (maybe as part of a deal for some of the spl talent being mentioned) or sold on with decent sell on clauses or buy backs.

Going to be a very interesting summer indeed.

2.) 02 Jun 2024 13:25:25
The four names have all been training with first team squad plus yefeko.

Archie stevens, Paul nsio and mason month trained last month of season with first team squad.

3.) 02 Jun 2024 14:11:56
Good info John.

4.) 02 Jun 2024 14:38:11
Boy blue this info came straight from Pc in two separate interviews.

5.) 02 Jun 2024 14:59:59
@john, do you see any of these boys making into permanent rangers 11? Or just the usual covering whenever we're down to the bare bones? Thanks.

6.) 02 Jun 2024 15:20:58
Cool John, never seen it, so it's good info for me at least. ?.

7.) 02 Jun 2024 15:23:06
King needs to move on, big rebuild and we resign Balogun, he should be used as part of a deal to bring in another .

8.) 02 Jun 2024 16:34:56
Second place. If the keep progressing yes especially McKinnon Lovelace Stevens

Yefeko if he gets a chance, derby have made a move.

9.) 02 Jun 2024 17:07:22
Mason Munn, Paul Nsio, and Archie Steven were excellent in the recent Scottish Youth Cup Final v Aberdeen, and all look like exciting prospects.

10.) 02 Jun 2024 19:37:48
Copland remember only one game, I’ve seen munn lose some rickets, but he is learning, seen nsio on many occasions, this boy can go all the way to the verytop.

As someone mentioned yesterday, just been confirmed on X, Bisgrove away. Do we have another CEO lined up?

2nd place is the 1st loser

1.) 30 May 2024 18:02:54
2nd place do we need a CEO if Bennett taking up a full time post in August? imo it was not clear what he did in the CEO role.

2.) 30 May 2024 19:21:23
John, in the short term, I would reckon that as Executive Chairman, Bennett will be perfect and Bisgrove had built a strong commercial team that is probably capable of filling any gaps left by his departure.

With all the rumours swirling around on investment, if any are factual, then it probably makes sense that Bennett adopts a wider remit in the short term.

After reading today Zander Clark is still without a club, is there wee chance we could pick him up? I believe we were linked with him last year and the fact we are all still not convinced with McLaughlin. Just a question guys, no source?.

2nd place is the 1st loser

1.) 19 Aug 2022 22:29:36
2nd place imo he is no better than McLaughlin or McGregor, could be a good third choice get Mccrorie out on loan.

2.) 19 Aug 2022 22:33:46
Not good enough.

3.) 19 Aug 2022 22:42:05
JM a better keeper than Big Zander.

4.) 19 Aug 2022 22:43:27
Clark is not better than McLaughlin. If it’s to allow McCrorie to go out on loan and come in as 3rd choice then maybe.

5.) 19 Aug 2022 23:04:41
2ndplace, it's pretty clear that Gio has selected John as his number 1. I'm pretty sure he'll do just fine mate.

6.) 19 Aug 2022 23:11:07
The only person that counts appears to be convinced about McLaughlin but I’m sure a few letters from the experts might change his mind.

7.) 19 Aug 2022 23:14:55
I sincerely hope not. It is well known that I want to see us bring in a quality keeper to replace McGregor however I am wanting someone of the quality of a young McGregor, Chris Woods, Klos or Goram, not someone that is not as good as what we already have.

8.) 20 Aug 2022 08:49:04
Clark isn't any better than mccrorie and he's still not got a club yet what does that say about him.

9.) 20 Aug 2022 08:59:06
That user name doesn’t fool me whoever you are. And you wonder why you lot get called obsessed?

10.) 20 Aug 2022 10:45:51
I think goalkeepers will be next year's project for GvB and the team. That's what it looks like to me anyway. I don't see any great drama with McLauchlin. Maybe the conception is that he has been number-2 for so long now he cannot be any good and there must be better out there. That cannot be the way GvB sees it or he would have acted by now. The game against PSV exploited a few weaknesses in our team, the main one for me being the lack of height of our CB's. It didn't identify our goalkeeper as a weakness. It did, by the way, identify their goalkeeper as a possible weakness, didn't it.

Don't know about the rest of you, but with regards to Goldson he has to be the worst headerer of a ball I've ever seen. He would win the arial dual at almost every corner and with his big 50pence napper head it wide or over the bar. I was forever shouting for him to stay away from it, and predicting the outcome to my boys. Between that and the endless mistakes, I for one am happy to see him move on. If and it's a big if, Souter can stay clear of injuries I think he will prove to be a far better player/ defender than Goldson.

2nd place is the 1st loser

1.) 31 May 2022 12:15:53
Goldosn is good in the air you don’t break spfl records for clean sheets and have the most clearances in a eufa competition if your no a good defender lol makes mistakes aye so does jack tav shagger etc.

2.) 31 May 2022 12:16:57
I think he's a better header of the ball than Amad Diallo.

3.) 31 May 2022 12:55:48
Let’s be honest just acting bitter because he’s leaving if he signed a new deal people would be singing his praise lol champions Scottish cup winners Europa league finalists all with him a the heart off defence lol oh and he scored 9 goals last year ok for a guy who can’t header a ball.

4.) 31 May 2022 13:17:01
Exactly, tango hit it on the button.

5.) 31 May 2022 13:38:19
We can do better, if he doesn't want to play for us let him go. No player is bigger than Rangers.

6.) 31 May 2022 14:14:44
I for one will wish Goldson all the best if he does leave, he has been a stalwart over the last few years and is never injured, so reliable to the core. Ok he made the odd mistake but so does every footballer and being a CB or a GK normally means mistakes cost more but how many times did our forward players miss sitters this season. I'll be absolutely gutted when bassey leaves for PL because he is just getting better and better every game and does it with a smile on his face, let the bidding war commence drive his price up let us buy another diamond.

7.) 31 May 2022 14:17:20
Goldson a great defender. Love the big guy to stay but seems like he wants away.

8.) 31 May 2022 14:22:00
I think 2nd place is referring to headers on target (or not) in the opposing box which I do agree with, he is great at winning headers defensively but when attacking is again very good at getting to the crosses but very poor at hitting the target.

9.) 31 May 2022 14:46:56
That is exactly what I was meaning orgy. Yeah in defence he can just head it away, but if you look at his stats on how many headers he wins in the opposition box and how many are actually on target it's terrible conversion rate. As for last year I think we can all agree that was his one and only season where he was really good. This season and the 2 before that he was a bit of a bombscare. Also I hold him accountable for the goal that lost us the Europa final. It's kinda like being a cook, you're only as good as your last meal. He will be found out in England.

10.) 31 May 2022 14:54:14
A player going back home doesn’t make him bigger than rangers that pattern is horrendous don’t know why fans keep using it.

11.) 31 May 2022 15:20:32
Hard to disagree with that 2nd place.

12.) 31 May 2022 15:32:27
Aerial duels won ( SPFL ) :-
Simpson – 86%
Goldson – 69%
Katic – ( in Croatian League ) – 69%
Bassey – 61%
Helander – 58%
Balogun – 57%
King – 14%.

13.) 31 May 2022 16:06:24
MPH it would be impressive if you can give us a stat on how many headers Goldson has won in the opposing box and a stat on how many he has scored from them, I'll be mighty impressed if you can give us that one and would settle this discussion, good luck.

14.) 31 May 2022 16:45:20
Do you now see how stats can be misleading potato because Simpson is brutal :)

15.) 31 May 2022 17:22:56
Tango I agree with you lot of rangers fans turning on Goldson now that he is leaving and they are bitter and embarrassing. If/ when he goes I’ll wish him all the best as he done a good job for us.

16.) 31 May 2022 18:25:25
Hear hear storm.

17.) 31 May 2022 18:27:38
Correct Storm.

18.) 31 May 2022 18:52:19
Yip i agree stormtrooper Goldson over the piece was a good signing for us and i wish the big fella all the best wherever he goes It's only because he's leaving he's getting these bad comments which isn't fair because if he was staying it wouldn't be the case.

19.) 31 May 2022 18:55:04
Storm I don't think your post about turning on Goldson is correct I stated that his heading ability as a defender was very good but when in the opposing teams box his headers also looked like he was defending, I like the big man and would be happy if he stayed but has to improve heading ability when going for goal.

20.) 31 May 2022 19:00:32
I agree completely with the original poster, and think people are taking this way out of context, Goldson wins so many attacking headers, though they don't benefit us as they go miles over the bar. If anyone doesn't agree with this, they have obviously been watching the wrong game.

21.) 31 May 2022 20:27:21
Oryg. I’d say responses about Goldson not aimed at you.

22.) 31 May 2022 21:20:19
Stats on headers, that's where we are at really. Goldson is, sorry was, a great player for us end of we should wish him good luck and we move on.

23.) 31 May 2022 21:37:12
Oryg I wasn’t haven’t a go at you a lot of rangers fans turning on him all over social media.

Think Seigrist would be a fantastic signing. His stats at the start of the year were phenomenal. This is the keeper I would take over all the rest mentioned on here. Great shot stopper, commanding in the air and great with the ball at his feet. Getting him through the door for nothing is an excellent piece of business.
@Sweep, I really don't see any reason for the negativity towards him. As another poster said just because he plays at Dundee United doesn't make him a bad player, if anything it would mean he is busier and making more saves throughout each game.

2nd place is the 1st loser

1.) 10 Jan 2022 13:14:07
Your opinion is different from mine I don't see a problem in that.

2.) 10 Jan 2022 13:19:42
I would rather have McCrorie in than Utd GK TO BE Honest.

3.) 10 Jan 2022 13:41:10
I partly agree with you 2nd place, I think he is an excellent keeper, really good all rounder comfortable with ball at feet, but I don't necessarily believe that is always enough, if you think back to keepers in the past that's played for the old firm like Foderingham, cammy Bell, Alnwick even diddies like rab Douglas for them, they look good in lesser teams with a lot of shots on goal and saves to make but not much pressure on the outcome of the game, but you need a lot of mental strength as well and superb concentration think back to the likes of the goalie and klos some times hardly a save to make in the match but when it had to be made they were switched on and ready to make it, so I am not so sure if Siegriest would be at that required level wee need to be our no 1.

4.) 10 Jan 2022 14:14:14
McLaughlin is likely to leave as he needs to be playing more often than not if he wants to be part of the Scotland set up. I think getting him on a free would be a good bit of business. Have him and McCrorie fight it out for the impossible task of replacing sh*gger.

5.) 10 Jan 2022 14:38:05
Agreed. I think he has what it takes.

Dado I was literally about to post that, no Goldson either. Think there must be something in it. Although not sure why wee Ridvan would be there. Thought he'd be away as well this summer.

I agree orgy, been saying for a while, whilst MacGregor is outstanding at shot stopping, 1yite often it is caused by hi inability to come off his line, whether as a sweeper keeper or at corners and crosses. I said during the last transfer window about Seigrist and was laughed at, now he's linked with some of the big teams in England. MacGregor has been a great servant but time for someone new. My opinion.
