Regarding to the barron deal. A hope its just a cash deal. Any percentage to a future deal is a joke. he's a free so cash should be enough.

Why would Aberdeen have anything to do with a future sale when their player is out of contract? Only reason I'm led to believe the clubs even have a discussion is to try to meet in the middle in terms of development fee, if both clubs can't agree ( please correct me if I'm wrong ) then it goes to a tribunal which isn't like a claims case that is uncertain it's based on certain amount that clubs paid for the players development which isn't a surprise cost if that makes sense.

2.) 27 Jun 2024 01:15:10
Correct gjd, that sounds right to me as far as I understand it. definitely no future sale for dons either, that part I know to be fact.

3.) 27 Jun 2024 06:55:47
I think regardless of any sell on fee agreement the sheep are due a small percentage of any sale as standard.

4.) 27 Jun 2024 07:33:22
Bgate sell on clause of 5% throughout his career is divided between previous clubs of a player.

Development fee is a set criteriaa based on a number of factors.

5.) 27 Jun 2024 08:16:34
Didn't think that was applicable John as he's ooc, so is that a standard policy across players who have been developed by another club before sale, or just ooc players?

6.) 27 Jun 2024 10:35:41
I'm sure the sheep can't ask for a sell on fee as he was a free agent, unless rangers include it to reduce the development fee they pay the sheep.

7.) 27 Jun 2024 11:16:24
Surely when a player is out of contract the previous club has lost any claim to future transfer monies. If you are trying to buy a player who is currently contracted to another they are quite within their rights to request sell on percentage as part of the deal.

8.) 27 Jun 2024 11:17:20
Fork every player in the game, I’m sure Ed 1 can clarify

5% to previous clubs, 5 % to player if he did not request transfer.

{Ed001's Note - only youth clubs. If he is 33 the teams who had him after 18 won't get any money. The 5% is split between the clubs he was at up to the age of 18. The other is correct though, 5% to the player unless he hands in a written transfer request. That is why clubs will often get a player to do that if he is looking to leave, such as when Torres joined Chelsea from Liverpool.}

9.) 27 Jun 2024 12:12:10
Thanks Ed 1.

10.) 27 Jun 2024 12:28:47
I think we should just tell Aberdeen they’re not getting another offer n we will see them at a tribuneral. They will have less to spend this summer due to that, and then they’ll be very lucky to get the £500k we’ve offered so I dunno why they refused it.

11.) 27 Jun 2024 12:41:19
Cheers John and Ed, was unaware guys??.

12.) 27 Jun 2024 13:33:42
Yeah cheers guys. I didn't half get that wrong, well that old saying everyday is a school day couldn't be more true.
John/ Ed good knowledge of the game guys, it's a pleasure to have you guys here,

13.) 27 jun 2024 15:54:46
i like a nice tribuneral, , stevie i think they will very easily succeed in at leat half a mill.

TJBB56 i bet you said the same about lewis ferguson. Barron might nt be ready to start but he's got potential mate and he's a free and scottish.

Grarfc1

1.) 18 May 2024 07:38:42
I'd like us to sign Baron, think he had a lot of potential.

I've heard he is potentially looking at moves to Italy, France or Belgium though.

2.) 18 May 2024 09:11:02
Would we not need to compensate the sheep?

3.) 18 May 2024 09:53:11
Yes bgate about 250k.

4.) 18 May 2024 10:01:52
Dont see what Lewis Ferguson has got to do with this tbh or any other player its about Conor Barron and whether he is good enough or if we can get better that's all. IMO i think we need better players that can come in and beat Celtic. Players that have completed their development and are ready to start in our 1st team. that's all I want a winning team on the pitch. Conner Barron has a bit of development to go and yes maybe one day but not for our first team right now. Like I said before, our yard stick is Hatate, Oriley, Macgregor and not best of the rest from the relegation spots in the SPL. We need to start recruiting strong or they will be singing 10 in a row soon.

5.) 18 May 2024 10:55:57
Irrespective of whether Baron is good enough or not, why on earth would he come to us when he will earn more elsewhere. These young guys see what others before them have done and prefer the bright lights or better weather as opposed to the alternative offered here.

6.) 18 May 2024 11:02:20
Players like Raskin, Cantwell and Dowell TJBB5? Repeat the cycle of overpaid players? We need to start getting some boys in with fire in their bellies and with experience around him Barron falls into that category.

7.) 18 May 2024 11:07:12
If Barron is keen and willing I’d sign him.

8.) 18 May 2024 11:35:21
If we want young Scottish midfielders then I'd rather Watson or Miller as I feel Barron is good enough but has problems with injuries and would be Jack 2.0.

9.) 18 May 2024 12:34:53
Thats fair enough folks all opinions and valid enough. We should understand though Sco will not produce many top players maybe handful every 10 years so we should not expect these players such as Barron to make it to the top its just not likely. The most recent top players would be John Mginn Calumn Macgregor Robertson that's about it, Lewis Ferguson needs another good season to go into the top player category imo. Is there anybody in Sco right now capable of reaching that level.

Jester thanks for info but a hate us for bringing youth through. For me fergie my hero one of a kind. After that rest have been luck ie. Hutton was about to go to birmingham if am right fell through he stayed done class. Even mcgregor, adam.

1.) 04 Aug 2023 03:46:56
Went to spurs Alan Hutton if I mind correctly, was it not a few quid too? Like 10 million or something.

2.) 04 Aug 2023 04:54:24
Hutton went to spurs for around the £10million mark, barry ferguson when to blackburn rovers for £7.8million.

Is there any young guys on this site? ? .
I’m sure Scotland is half empty today? They are all in NI for the walks?

9.) 12 Jul 2023 08:49:32
62 and maybe not the best but boyhood hero was Colin Stein, also we mention to Davy Wilson simply because he was my neighbour when i was growing up. Was really too young to remember his playing career at rangers but a really nice and humble guy.

64 Laudrup.

11.) 12 Jul 2023 09:13:25

Also never forget the time a seen team lines against them and balogun was rb if i'm correct. And my god he was class got motm if i'm correct irreverent to what's happening now but just wanted to say. In beale i trust.

Grarfc1

1.) 12 Jul 2023 08:25:42
I'm 72 and best talent Jim Baxter and best Ranger John Grieg.

2.) 12 Jul 2023 08:37:41
Grafc1, your correct rb Kyogo was on the left wing never kicked a ball until he moved into the middle, I remember the game as Balogun went down injured and McCrorie kicked the ball out so he could get treatment and cal Mac ferries didn’t return the ball from the throw in.

3.) 12 Jul 2023 09:31:32
Ian Durrant and Davie Cooper are the classiest Scots players I've seen in a Rangers Jersey.
Loved McCoist and Hately partnership but John Grieg would be my idea of 1st pick on the team sheet every week.
First game was as a 5-7 year old in the early 70's away at Stirling Albion's old Annfield ground.
Think Gers won 2-0, Quentin Young might have scored that day?
Aware of the managers from Willie Waddel's era, think I'd pick him.
Teams were mostly full of scottish players back then, Gers and the Tic were regulars in the latter stages of Europe.
Other Scottish sides did well too.
The great Aberdeen and Dundee Utd sides were all full of Scots.
Makes u wonder what's happened? Especially to our creative players.
Will the likes off Willie Henderson, Willie Johnson, Bobby Lennox, Jimmy Johnson etc, ever be seen again?
We should be encouraging our young Scottish talent.
As the great Charlie Chan used to say, Sumtingwong!
