Sunderland interested in signing Waghorn.

copland01

1.) 31 Jul 2017 11:25:35
Great news

2.) 31 Jul 2017 11:48:44
Remember hearing that they were keeping an eye on him.
Thoughts: what's the lowest bid we would accept? For me its 250k
This tho just re-affirms just how much I think the Squad needs trimmed.

3.) 31 Jul 2017 12:43:24
I am no way or shape a fan of waghorn but a think its a bit risky selling him just now if herrera and morales don't start finding the net

4.) 31 Jul 2017 16:27:01
Wouldnt consider anything under 750k the money these clubs spend on players is absurd OK he's no world beater but they want him so they can pay for him

5.) 31 Jul 2017 16:35:25
Jzer.

Agree. nothing less that 750k

6.) 31 Jul 2017 18:37:53
Sunderland are loaded and need a proven striker. From memory did Waggy not also have an association with them earlier in his career. He has a decent reputation in the English championship, should be able to get £1m for him.

7.) 31 Jul 2017 19:40:03
Would be great if we could get anything near 750k but honestly think that a bid of 500k will be their top bid, but 500k would still be a good bit of business.

8.) 31 Jul 2017 20:31:52
Aye, colshygers, we'd miss Waggy's great goalscoring contribution. was it six or seven in 30-odd games last year? He's never the answer, I'd much rather promote from within and bin the deadwood.

9.) 31 Jul 2017 20:42:46
who was last seasons top goalscorer wee ecky?

10.) 31 Jul 2017 22:31:17
Not being funny but the transfer activity in England is absurd and a player of Martyn Waghorns calibre would easily be between 3-4m We will be happy to receive at least 1m for him Why would we be forced to sell for anything less?!

11.) 31 Jul 2017 22:49:01
In the league, Kenny Miller. Seven of Waghorn's goals were in the league cup against diddies. He did well in the championship too, also against diddies. That's his level, not a Rangers team that wishes to compete with the mhankies.

12.) 31 Jul 2017 22:49:57
So you'd keep him ahead of emerging talent?

13.) 01 Aug 2017 00:53:57
Waghorn is entering final year of contract In sure we will ask for £1m and Sunderland will be looking to secure him for half that. Despite TV money and Parachute payments Sunderland don't have a lot to spend don't know if it's down to wage bill. I'm sure they got £30m for Pickford to Everton but they are actively trying to sell the club which was 1 of the reasons McInnes never took the job.
I think he will go and it will be for around £650-700k which we will use to buy Walker.

14.) 01 Aug 2017 07:07:20
see if u actually read my comment instead of bumpin your gums you would notice i'm not a fan of waghorn what emerging talent have we got in striker position? please don't say ryan hardie he is not the answer if we sold waghorn and used the cash to buy moult i'd drive him to sunderland myself

Partick Thistle linked with a move for o'halloran.

copland01

1.) 07 Jul 2017 10:01:14
Great news!

2.) 07 Jul 2017 11:48:16
Not sure MOH is actually inferior to Dalcio or Candeias based on what we've seen. Kid definitely never got a half decent chance at Ibrox.

3.) 07 Jul 2017 12:26:28
i would keep M O'H to many foreign players for my liking.

4.) 07 Jul 2017 12:37:27
Was desperate for the guy to do well, great pace but not much of anything else to be fair.

Looked as disinterested as McKay at times, would have thought both of them would have went hell for leather to impress the new boss, or maybe the fans who support them? Lacklustre, lazy and really not arsed as the money's good.

5.) 07 Jul 2017 13:06:40
He has pace but that's literally it

6.) 07 Jul 2017 13:54:45
Unlikely Partick Thistle could afford 7K per week and he wouldn't take a wage cut. Have been disappointed with his attitude but don't doubt his ability. Nonetheless, move might happen in the form of a loan.

7.) 07 Jul 2017 14:27:19
were actually playing a system just now that would suit MOH with kranjcar looking to play the long diagonal over the full backs head MOH's pace would thrive off that service just a shame his end products rotten

8.) 08 Jul 2017 00:12:56
Progressive thinking managers like conte, klopp and guardiola see players struggling in a position and turn them into proper players in a different position. Moses, milner, mascherano etc. Coukd moh make a decent right back/ wing back? Think he struggles due to a lack of space in front of him in his current position.

9.) 08 Jul 2017 13:04:03
Kiernan linked to M. K. Dons

Barisic is doubtful for the game v St Johnstone according to media reports.
Do we play Flanagan?
Worrall is naturally left sided so he could play Left Back.
Other option is Halliday.
Any thoughts?

Copland01

1.) 22 Sep 2018 09:08:40
How many times do we get new players in and right away they get injured? I can think of literally dozens off hand.

2.) 22 Sep 2018 09:35:41
Wouldn't Wallace come in?

3.) 22 Sep 2018 09:48:08
Seeker it's called life, every team gets injuries .

4.) 22 Sep 2018 09:49:49
Copland Worrall is not a leftie.

5.) 22 Sep 2018 11:45:19
If you watch Bora after big Laff scores, he is hurting then, I hope it's not a hamstring that keeps him out for weeks!

6.) 22 Sep 2018 13:12:57
Flanagan is our second choice left (and right) back, so he'll be in.

7.) 22 Sep 2018 14:30:03
Definitely Flanagan starts for me on absence of Barisic.

8.) 22 Sep 2018 18:32:43
Don't really see why it would be anyone except Wallace.

9.) 22 Sep 2018 19:11:59
Ted have you not been watching Rangers this season? Clearly Flanagan is second choice cover for both full back positions .

10.) 22 Sep 2018 19:25:38
Flanagan gets the nod over wallace all day, every day👍.

11.) 22 Sep 2018 19:42:56
Lee Wallace time at us is almost over, he's been a good servant but we simply have better options now, plus the fact he's now picking up more injuries means I very much doubt we will see him getting a decent run again.

28 Jun 2018 15:21:02
Would great to see Steven Davis back at Ibrox especially with Southampton signing Armstrong.

Copland01

1.) 28 Jun 2018 17:03:51
The man is class 👌🏻

2.) 28 Jun 2018 17:19:05
Theres our next captain then, what a signing that would be. he's probably still got a few good years in him

3.) 28 Jun 2018 18:39:52
Have to wholeheartedly agree guys! Steven davis even at 33 years old now, would still be a terrific signing for us! This gem of a midfielder is class off the park, as well as class on it! Bring the ballymena boy home and make him captain! Not being biased when i say this, davis would easily be, the best central midfielder, in the scottish premiership! He's still got at least 3 very good years, left in him, imo!

4.) 28 Jun 2018 19:37:39
steve davis is as fit as a butchers dog at 33 still has a couple of years at top level would take him in a heartbeat

5.) 28 Jun 2018 19:40:32
If we could get 3-4mil for windass and use that to get davis then that is a no brainer. Davis would be class.

6.) 28 Jun 2018 22:38:14
Still rossiter for capitan for me

04 Jun 2018 21:01:32
Thomas Isherwood is he currently on trial at Rangers?

Copland01

1.) 05 Jun 2018 06:50:44
He was and apparently showed up well.
Everyone still on holiday just now, but I believe he is coming back for SG 's team to have a look

25 May 2018 12:06:14
Defoe, Skrtel are players who command massive salaries and are very unlikely to be seen at Ibrox.
Do we look at signing players like Caulker and Kamara from Dundee or Mulumba from Kilmarnock?
McBurnie and Bartley would be good additions but they will also be on massive salaries and also require us to offer a big transfer fee.

Copland01

1.) 25 May 2018 12:59:58
Has anyone actually spent anytime watching McBurnie playing as a lot of people are saying he would be a great buy? I personally haven’t seen any of him and £4 million is a lot of cash for a young guy and hope it’s not because he’s a self confessed Gers fan that people think we should sign him? 🇬🇧

2.) 25 May 2018 14:05:14
Yateley i've watched him a few times with Barnsley and he has impressed but i also feel if Cummings was in the same Barnsley team he too would have scored goals. I personally feel people are jumping too much onto the "Rangers fan" bandwagon, 4 mil is a massive gamble.

02 Oct 2017 21:13:54
Declan John has slotted into the left back position in the absence of Wallace and has produced some impressive displays especially v Hamilton.
He carries a goal threat so he could probably be deployed further forward, probably in the position currently occupied by Windass when Wallace returns.

copland01

1.) 02 Oct 2017 21:48:30
Remember Wallace's loyalty.

2.) 02 Oct 2017 22:08:23
John is better than wallace, loyality has got nothing to do with it.

3.) 02 Oct 2017 22:17:56
No one should get a position in the side out of loyalty.

4.) 02 Oct 2017 22:42:17
Waldo deserves loyalty. he’s not the worse player in the team. I also back Pedro and Kenny . who ever the rat is the media can keep him.

5.) 03 Oct 2017 00:26:40
So we should play waldo because he was loyal even tho john is the better player? John did more in one game than waldo has done all season and last. 😩🔫

6.) 03 Oct 2017 00:48:43
JC gers - well said!

7.) 03 Oct 2017 10:34:32
Play the 2 of them, Waldo LB and John LM. it would give us a far better balance to the side and more width. even try Windass in Penas posistion.

8.) 03 Oct 2017 11:51:40
SG34 I for one have had enough of Windass he's had his chance and 25 mins a game is not good enough true he has some ability but too lazy a player for me if Anyone I would give Holt or young Barjonas a go in the Pena position.

9.) 03 Oct 2017 17:38:14
SG34

That was the point of my original post play Wallace and John as you also stated.

10.) 04 Oct 2017 00:32:33
I know what you're saying Larky but tbh i don't actually think we have a #10 type player at all. i think Mckay could have been that but we don't have him anymore. i certainly don't think Holts the answer either, yes he's full of effort and running but just lacks that real explosive threat you need to play in that position.

11.) 04 oct 2017 00:33:37
personally i think john should be played instead of windass with instruction to help out waldo as much as he can.

waldo isn't the player he was and we should find a replacement but john isn't it as he is as far as i can tell a winger.

12.) 03 Oct 2017 23:02:31
Totally agree copland01, Johns more tactically aware than Windass as he can go walkies sometimes when he plays out on the left

We only have 3 recognised strikers signed and Lafferty is a doubt for Saturday's match v Dundee.
Another striker needs to be added to the squad so possibly he might be looking at strikers who are currently free agents as rumoured by the media.

Cambuslangger- totally agree what a great performance and atmosphere and to qualify for the group stage has been a massive achievement by SG, his backroom staff and the players.
To sit top of our group is great so hopefully we can qualify for the knockout stage but one game at a time.
The only thing I would add that all the players were excellent and did the club proud.

If Flanagan plays it needs to be RB.
Can't see SG dropping Tav,
Would Flanagan be an option as a Defensive midfielder?
