The player who Beale referred to as "not the right fit" was Luis Palma. Having met both the player and agent he seen too many of similar characteristics with Morelos and the agent had made it clear the club was a stepping stone and wouldn't commit to anything more than a 3 year contract.

Raskin said Rangers are a stepping stone to the EPL so why did Beale sign him? ?‍♂️.

That's what you want no1 is coming to rangers unless it's a stepping stone and I'm OK with that.

I would imagine any young player with potential and ambition would be coming to Rangers or Celtic as a stepping stone to get a move to England. Can’t see that putting off the manager. Even he will be doing that to an extent look at Ange getting a big move he’ll be hoping to follow a similar path.

claptrap, rangers would have jumped at palma if they wanted him, 3 yrs would have been fine, wanting to play in the epl would have been even better, because rangers could have made plenty of money if he made it in those 3 yrs, no way in this world did rangers say, " we want you to sign your life away " 3 yrs would have been perfect for both parties, rangers and celtic are a stepping stone for virtually every player who comes here, rangers would have been delighted to accommodate him, if they wanted him, the reason had zero to do with the guy seeing himself somewhere else in 3 years,

they're all heading in same direction if they can, cantwell and raskin won't be here long term, neither will anyone else who stands out here.

For most young players we will always be seen as a stepping stone to the EPL but we have to learn when to sell and maximise the amount we get.

MB wouldn't knock back a player for that.

Verdant - Raskin said this after he had signed for us. However, he made it explicitly clear that he wants to play well for rangers and win trophies. He also emphasised that he was made to feel wanted by rangers.

Davie - if a player sees our club purely as a stepping stone there will be little or no commitment to the club or the fans. They need to prove their ability week in week out. Not coming with this mindset they are bigger than the club and will move onto bigger and better things.

Sir Walter - I posted a few weeks ago about Maja. His attitude was never in question with Beale, it was his desire to be back in England, specifically London due to family issues. Sometimes the right player comes along at the wrong moment and indeed life can always sway decisions.

Thanks chaps!

Raskin said in an interview: "My ultimate dream is to play in the Premier League with Chelsea. Playing in Scotland struck me as a good intermediate step. ”

Any player signed wants to do well and win trophies. That’s how they earn that next big step to a top 5 league. Palma would’ve been exactly the same.

Let’s be honest here, in an effort to bash Morelos you’ve made an absolute nonsense point. Easily rubbishd because one of our current players openly wants to move to the EPL and makes no secret of it. Rangers player trading model depends on buying players low, and selling them on for big fees to top leagues. We WANT these guys to go on to big money leagues.

Verdant you have to sign players in the main who want to progress. U r 100% correct.

Certain players like balogun mb Lundstrum happy to see out career with us, that’s fine.

If a player uses The Rangers as a stepping stone to the EPL, I would suggest they will want to perform well to be noticed. I’m more concerned with the EPL clubs trying to get the players at a reduced fee.
