I was chatting with a work colleague this morning about work firstly and then briefly the changes going on at Ibrox and the player comings and goings. In this chat he asked me if Tav was the right or the best person to lead this team. Now Tav definitely has qualities that you want your captain to have but do we have anyone better? My colleague is a Gunner and thinks very highly of Odegaard and thinks Callum McGregor is by far the best captain in the SPL, and I can't disagree with him in that both are very good. Anyway, I came to the conclusion that Tav isn't currently our strongest candidate for the captaincy and I think Goldson would be a better option to lead the team and I think we would function better overall as a result. Out of curiousity what are other people's thoughts? Could we be a better team under a different captain?

What does goldson do that Tav doesnt? Can anyone else in the squad carry the burden of being captain and be our best players for years on end? Tav is the best option and it’s not going to change.

I think leadership is best demonstrated on the field. Skill, consistency, work rate, fitness, and being able to make big plays at the right moments. There isn't anyone on the team right now that has demonstrated this leadership better that Tav and in my humble opinion, there hasn't been anyone that has done it better than him since he put on a rangers shirt.

We aren’t going to start playing better just because you give the band to Goldson lol what does McGregor do that tav doesn’t on the pitch? He’s no very vocal a captain ether tbh not like brown was anyway.

Can't see why we would change it we've Tav who's served us well and goldson along with one of two other senior players that will keep up standards. We don't have anyone who's screams captain material out with these few guys.

Bb unsure about this one and what he said about Celtic player is correct tho.

My problem with Tav is a lot of the time we get beat he isn’t the one doing the interviews when it should be the captain and when he does do it it’s the same old BS we will learn from our mistakes.

Captain for coin toss. Should have 11 captains playing in the shirt. Goldson to busy blaming everyone around him when its usually his error that's cost us.

Let me just reread what I wrote. Did I diss Tav. No. Did I praise McGregor. No. I couldn't siagree with someone else's view. What is it with you lot reading what you want?

I still think Goldson is far better captain material but sorry for expressing an opinion.

Big Ben it's a fair question. Tav is slaughtered by many on here regularly as not being fit to be captain. Personally I disagree but poster is mearly raising question if we have someone better suited. Decent point to debate. Sick of the Tim calls everytime someone has a different opinion or questions decisions.
