Anyone got any incoming / outgoing player rumours that's not in the papers or online at the moment?

1.) 17 Jun 2023 23:47:08
I’m surprised to still not hear anything about Nnamdi Ofoborh being let go/ loan/ training etc. I’ve not got a problem with the situation I’m just surprised that he hasn’t been mentioned since the Beale rebuild has began.

2.) 18 Jun 2023 00:36:37
It’s unlikely Ofoborh will ever kick a ball for Rangers. The guy has a serious heart issue.

3.) 18 Jun 2023 06:59:55
Shame for the lad, had a promising career ahead of him and still young too, cracking midfielder too.

4.) 18 Jun 2023 07:16:17
Should never have got a contract.

5.) 18 Jun 2023 08:41:45
I was told Brennan Johnson from forrest a few weeks ago. Guy that told me is a friend of my usual source that I met at a social gathering. I know little about the guy to be honest forward player.

6.) 18 Jun 2023 09:03:19
Ofoborh may have heart issues but the end of the day rangers will do their best to help him out. wasn't godson the same and look how he has turned out to be.

7.) 18 Jun 2023 09:19:03
Never going to happen Brentford offered forest 30mill for Brennan Johnson and they knocked it back.

8.) 18 Jun 2023 09:21:19
Don't think we have 40 50 million brennan Johnson mate.

9.) 18 Jun 2023 09:23:28
Think Forest just knocked back a bid of £30M for him from Brentford.

10.) 18 Jun 2023 09:28:20
Bellshill there is absolutely no chance he is signing for us whoever told you was taking the P 100%.

Ulster blue how is that? Ridiculous comment, you can’t not sign a guy for something that doesn’t show up till after he signed.

11.) 18 Jun 2023 09:44:08
I agree storm and from what I hear it's one of those conditions that he might have been totally fine during medical irregular and hard to spot.

And how many times has any of us felt an odd irregular feeling in our body and just written it off as nothing.

It does happen my cousin Chris died of undiagnosed heart condition at 21 no warning signs.

12.) 18 Jun 2023 09:51:44
Ulster blue why should he not have got a contract.

13.) 18 Jun 2023 09:54:48
I could be way way off and don't want to come across as a conspiracy theorist. Just often wondered about the timing of the Ofoborh signing could it be a heart issue that's came from having C.V. or possibly the vax? I know two people who have suffered from Myocarditis after contacting C.V. itself one a 19 year old who was very fit. Would make sense why nothing was picked up beforehand.

14.) 18 Jun 2023 10:09:38
The best way forward for ofoborh is that if he wants to play he needs to ask to rip up his contract and find himself a new club willing to play him, of course no one will insure him so that’s going to be near impossible.
The problem here is he won’t get anywhere near what we give him anywhere else and so it’s all a bit of a Mexican standoff type thing.

15.) 18 Jun 2023 10:11:06
Won’t here of much regarding outgoings until the players return for pre season on 30th of June.

As for Ofoborh, his issue would’ve never been discovered during a medical heart conditions will regularly go undiscovered until something happens. Daley Blind and Eriksen for example.

16.) 18 Jun 2023 10:20:04
Brendan Johnson was worth 15m 3 years ago fs ?.

17.) 18 Jun 2023 10:30:07
I thought Ofoborh had been released . ?‍? a while back.

18.) 18 Jun 2023 11:08:16
Gms nope. Ranger said the contract would be honoured till 6/ 24.

19.) 18 Jun 2023 11:37:29
I forgot about Ofoborh! Shame to see a young guy struggle like that. I hadn’t realised we’d released him either. All the best to the lad.

20.) 18 Jun 2023 11:39:33
Stevie what you on about? He can’t play ?‍♂️ why would he rip up his contract What is wrong with people.

21.) 18 Jun 2023 11:42:11

I get a medical every year as I work with radiation and one time I about 20 doc said I had irregular heartbeat git sent to hospital for ecg etc…. it’s quite common.

22.) 18 Jun 2023 11:59:26
Because storm if u have bothered to follow the whole situation, ofoborh has been making noises about not being able to train properly or play, saying the truth will come out in time etc…. so if he feels he’s being unfairly treated by the club then I’m sure we wouldn’t object if he wished to rip up his contract and find a more suitable club? So why doesn’t the player make this request? Because he knows not a lot of clubs will take him, they will struggle to get insurance for him and that he won’t get the wages he’s getting just now.
It’s all in ofoborh favour yet he’s still complaining at his treatment by the club. Imo it’s a bit ungrateful considering we are putting him 1st and us 2nd. I’d be happy to let him go and wish him all the best.

23.) 18 Jun 2023 12:15:58
Brennan Johnson is pure pie in the sky, and is never happening! Stop with the fantasy rumours, please!

24.) 18 Jun 2023 12:33:18
StevieG2 100%right the guy has been on a hefty wage for over a year and is now looking compo. What other company would pay employee over a year on sick.

25.) 18 Jun 2023 13:35:30
That’s all my point is Ulster. It’s a sad situation but he’s a lucky lad to have been trey so well and been at us and not a lesser club.

26.) 18 Jun 2023 13:44:15
We won’t be paying his wages insurance will be lying his wage. I also did see the Stevie but nothing ever came of it.

27.) 18 Jun 2023 13:48:41
Was the ofobohr stuff even about rangers?

I thought it was directed at the first two specialists he saw and hence why he went to a third? Rangers have said he's did some light training and trains at home.

Regardless the boy has a heart issue and isn't able to his job nor the game that we all love. Only fair that we see out his contract and support him throughout.

28.) 18 Jun 2023 13:54:10
Brennan Johnson is most ridiculous rumour on this site absolutely ridiculous made up story.

29.) 18 Jun 2023 15:26:20
He posted about doctors no the club as usual our fans want a reason to attack a guy with a heart condition some a the comments on here are classless not something a would expect from rangers fans.

30.) 18 Jun 2023 15:28:33
Did the player ever mention the club no? Find something else to be absolutely raging about a guy with a heart condition is not a target. Well done the club honouring his contract expect nothing less from rangers.

31.) 18 Jun 2023 21:53:45
The ones saying we should have binned this boy really need to take a minute and actually think about the uproar if the club did bin this boy. It's never happening, but If it did, the club would be torn apart, and destroyed in every media outlet out there.
And by the way, that's not why the club are sticking by the lad. No, they're sticking by him because it's the right thing to do.
And NRD, just incase you're concerned with me posting while I'm on holiday, I'm sitting on the balcony with a drink in hand listening to the singer belt out some Creedence Clearwater while my wife gets the kids to sleep. Thanks for thinking about me though!

13 Jun 2023 17:28:13
John any idea if the Easdale brothers rumours is true heard it a while back now apparently they are looking to buy out the rest of the shares and work with Dave king ano it's Ibrox news that was posting it but a similar rumours was going round that they were interested a few month back and that park would be stepping aside.

1.) 13 Jun 2023 18:10:52
RFC I did predict worrying times were coming our way, fans will be delighted, getting rid park Robertson Wilson.

2.) 13 Jun 2023 18:14:07
Maybe that's why everyone has been leaving I would keep John Bennett at the Club and on the board proper rangers man get rid of the parks.

3.) 13 Jun 2023 18:20:35
Can't believe king would work with the easdales also would park sell his shares to them.

4.) 13 Jun 2023 18:21:16
John you've now mentioned worrying times twice now can you give any info.

5.) 13 Jun 2023 18:23:23
Do you think if they came in with king it would be worrying John. I'd be quite happy with that.

6.) 13 Jun 2023 18:33:43
Always be careful what you wish for.

7.) 13 Jun 2023 18:34:04
Why worrying times John?

8.) 13 Jun 2023 18:44:13
It might not necessarily mean worrying times John27 ?.

9.) 13 Jun 2023 18:48:42
So are you saying it’s true john? And also not good for the club?

10.) 13 Jun 2023 18:56:17
What's Robertson Wilson got to do with easdales?

11.) 13 Jun 2023 19:03:31
John so you don't think this is a good thing the easdale brothers 126th richest men in the UK teaming up with dave King and bring in investment from the US.

12.) 13 Jun 2023 19:07:58
Yip i said those who wanted wilson n co out BEWARE AHEAD

Hope you are all happy.

13.) 13 Jun 2023 19:31:57
No worrying times ahead. The future is bright for Rangers.

14.) 13 Jun 2023 19:32:33
The Easdales were part of Ashleys crew, surely King isn`t that desperate for power ( which he gave up by the way ) that he would get into bed with them .

15.) 13 Jun 2023 19:32:46
I've seen it I wonder if the American investors are the same people who were in talks with Both the club and Dave king even if they are to join forces it will still be some way off Cause they would have to buy shares from others to make a Majority and there is the problem.

16.) 13 Jun 2023 19:38:46
I've just been on Twitter It's already been Ruled out even H&H laughed at it Listening to Ibrox News is something I would Stay away from I do.

17.) 13 Jun 2023 19:47:01
John, I don’t know the politics behind the scenes so why is it a troublesome move, is American investment Fox as well, what do most feel iOS best outcome.

18.) 13 Jun 2023 19:52:32
Easdales 20 million shares have been unblocked by court order. it may only be rumours, but seemingly teaming up with King and other small shareholders to try and get over 50% and force takeover.

19.) 13 Jun 2023 19:58:07
Not happening.

20.) 13 Jun 2023 20:06:54
Cant believe folk woukd take king back. were at court every other week cause of his dodgy deals.

21.) 13 Jun 2023 20:12:32
I was glad stewart robertson was leaving rangers way out his depth for the high position he was in?
James bisgrove much better candidate for that very high, important role within our club ?.

22.) 13 Jun 2023 20:40:45
I’ve got a funny felling this is going to happen whether it’s good or bad we will see heard it a few months ago but thought it was a load of sugar, but now it’s getting reported can see it happening.

23.) 13 Jun 2023 20:48:06
We r headed for a hostile boardroom.

24.) 13 Jun 2023 20:50:36
Go for people wanted them out, potentially we now get both easedales king fox. , oh and my

Walter on what grounds do u say that, Bennett Wolthardt Gibson Scott will move on.

25.) 13 Jun 2023 20:50:54
Easedales? I know a guy who got his bus burnt oot, na keep these wannabe gangsters well away.

26.) 13 Jun 2023 20:52:04
Walter Bisgrove won’t be there if the old regime returns.

27.) 13 Jun 2023 21:29:13
King has rubbishd this story.

28.) 13 Jun 2023 21:41:46
Dave kings already came out and stated he would never work with the easdales so that’s a non starter. Also worth noting the easdales never actually took a penny from the club.

29.) 13 Jun 2023 21:42:18
Dave king has Responded He's Dismissed those Rumours and says he backs the Board Chris Jack.

30.) 13 Jun 2023 21:59:22
John27,i didn't say i think or wish Bennett, wolthardt, Gibson scott etc will move on?I merely stated it might not necessarily mean worrying times mate ?.

31.) 13 Jun 2023 22:07:55
King won't work with the easdales, he said this

King stated that he is '100 per cent behind' Bennett and Bisgrove and said: “I have no idea whatsoever if the so-called Easdale shares have been released by a Court order.

"I was the one who had them blocked and cannot conceive of a good reason why this could be overturned by a Court.

"What I can say, emphatically, is that I have had no discussions with the Easdales for many years and they have made no attempt to contact me. They know that I would never enter into an alliance with them. "

32.) 13 Jun 2023 23:40:31
Said it before the amount of Pish rumours about Rangers.

33.) 14 Jun 2023 09:20:24
Walter, note the comma, I’m. Saying they will, imo we r in great hands with bennet and Gibson

Great news re king and easedales not working together

SA financial authorities still pushing king to sell his shares, would be great if Gibson bought him out
Very good post Michael.

34.) 14 Jun 2023 10:27:16
Whats the worrying time john27 is it the easdales we should be worried about.

27 Dec 2022 18:51:49
The way Michael Beale is talking we might be offering Davis a new deal after his operation he definitely wants him around the club.

1.) 27 Dec 2022 19:23:40
Won’t be as a player a don’t think.

2.) 27 Dec 2022 19:32:47
Saw that RFC. Keeping Davis and Arfield possibly Jack.

3.) 27 Dec 2022 19:56:11
Around the club sounds good. On the playing staff, hopefully not. The last time he picked out a rangers player with a pass was last season. His time was up and offering him this year was a mistake. Sentimentality clouds judgement. No place for it at our club.

4.) 27 Dec 2022 20:01:53
Heres hoping its within a coaching role. he's been a great servant to the club but if it's still for playing then I imagine we could play a younger, better player in that position.

5.) 27 Dec 2022 20:30:26
he said davis has 18 months left as a player.

6.) 27 Dec 2022 20:53:30
I think he was talking coaching wise the same they will probarly do with greegs.

7.) 27 Dec 2022 21:25:34
Player coach role for Davis is a no brainier.

8.) 27 Dec 2022 21:25:51
We’ve been talking about the squad going stale and in need of a refresh since Gerrard was here. If we give contracts to Arfield, Jack, and Davis, I’ll be completely disillusioned as a fan. We’re going to keep these 3 in the heart of our midfield until the summer of 2024? Not for me.

There are 7 players out of contract in the summer: Helander, Arfield, Jack, Davis, Morelos, McGregor, and Kent. Keeping Kent and Morelos makes sense because they can still be sold for a considerable amount of money at some point in the future - The rest can go. The rest should go, and we should be using the wages we free up, and squad space, to get fresh faces in.

We already have Lundstrum and Kamara under contract for next season. We should be getting Raskin on a pre-contract. We have McCann and McKinnon breaking through the youth ranks. We don’t need Davis, Arfield, and Jack next year - We really don’t.

9.) 27 Dec 2022 21:57:07
Verdant all about opinions mate.

10.) 27 Dec 2022 22:10:08
intr why a coach role when beale clearly states 18 months left as a player.

11.) 27 dec 2022 22:27:53
so much for the " imminent pay off "

12.) 27 Dec 2022 23:48:10
Give davis new deal would be up there with one of the most embarrassing things we've done it years that's 1 reaso were behind.

13.) 28 Dec 2022 05:42:13
John that isn't what he said. He said davis had 18 months left as a player in his opinion. Davis' opinion may differ and the injury will take its toll.

14.) 28 Dec 2022 05:50:58
Beale says has the legs of a 27 year old and has 18 month left at this level can honestly se the club offering him a new deal.

15.) 28 Dec 2022 07:16:53
u and i don’t know yet if injury will take its toll.

16.) 28 Dec 2022 08:05:23
A minimum 6 month injury on a 37 year old? Aye, it won't have any affect.

17.) 28 Dec 2022 09:10:55
Davis definitely deserves it.

18.) 28 Dec 2022 10:16:35
From a strictly 'playing time' point of view - I'd rather we didn't renew McGregor, Davis, Jack, Hellander or Arfields deals.

However, we cannot underestimate how important experienced players are in terms of setting and maintaining the standards at our club.

So for me the ideal situation would be to see McGregor and Davis move on to coaching roles and Arfield and Jack sign extensions.

19.) 28 Dec 2022 11:19:51
Lads, I think we're nearly all in agreement that Davies could be offered a coaching role, however he may feel he wants to play another season if he beats this injury. That should not be at Rangers in my opinion. Much as he would be a good role model, especially for younger players, I honestly can't think the same of McGregor. Offering contracts for the sake of it is no use.

20.) 28 Dec 2022 12:42:53
We stood still after we won 55. would be utter shambolic to have davis greegs playing next season still.

21.) 28 Dec 2022 13:05:46
He said before his injury he thought he had 18 months . Funny how things get twisted so much.

22.) 28 Dec 2022 13:45:12
With Davis it's OK Beale saying he has 18 months left in him but no one has a clue how he will recover from his injury. He comes back strong I'd take another year. He can still control a game better than any player we have.

23.) 28 Dec 2022 15:18:18
Davis has been a great servant but no he should not get a new deal the same with the majority that’s out of contract only one I would keep other than kent and Alfredo if they were willing to sign would be arfield as he is a good sub.

24.) 28 Dec 2022 15:25:29
This squad needs serious investment you only have to look who was playing last time we won at Celtic park how little the team has changed if your not changing and improving your going to fail. I'd already be looking to move some players on this window but I doubt we will even sign anyone and if we do it will prob be a predictable lower English league free or last year deal that nobody else wants.

12 Nov 2022 21:19:04
You any news on if gio is going and if so who the number 1 target is to replace him.

1.) 12 Nov 2022 22:18:44
He named the 3 people he had been told already Phil Neville Chris wilder and vanoli.

2.) 12 Nov 2022 22:39:09
If its either of them this club is finished. We're in a worse state than we were before gerrard except financially. Which will worsen if any of them take over. Shambles.

3.) 12 Nov 2022 22:53:44
I heard ole gunnar solsksjaer tonight.

4.) 12 Nov 2022 23:00:49
Ano that storm weeks ago things change mate ?.

5.) 12 Nov 2022 23:50:37
Where is OGS at the minute Herewego55 ?.

6.) 13 Nov 2022 00:19:46
Slippy Stevie G would be the preference of Celtic fans, just in case you're interested. He has shown at Villa that he was actually the understudy to Michael Beale. He was the brains behind the operation, not Gerrard.

7.) 13 Nov 2022 00:51:53
Beale would be my no1 pick and every one knows Gerrard was a figure head but would the players of respected Beale on his own first time around doubtful would not like Gerrard back but without him a doubt we would not of got the 55 and the dims might of got there 9 and 3/ 4.

8.) 13 Nov 2022 00:59:28
Rfc we thank Gerrard for what he done stopping the title they sang about for years and years some have tattoos?but not a chance would I want him back.

9.) 13 Nov 2022 06:16:55
RFC it wasn’t weeks ago it was last week.

10.) 13 Nov 2022 09:28:27
OGS would be a worse pick than gio. Would rather caixinha back than him.

11.) 13 Nov 2022 10:56:28
I will be honest, I don't fancy any of the names being mentioned and I have little confidence that Wilson will get it right. No doubt that it will be someone that is managed by his minute circle of Agents!
Before we jump into an appointment we need to have a strategy in place and the ambition to support whoever is appointed to achieve success both in the SPL and in Europe.
For me, either we go with a Souness / Gerrard style appointment that will attract players to the Club based on their name and ideally we bring in a young Scottish Manager as his number 2, or we go for a tried and tested manager that has the pedigree and the tactical nouse to achieve the same objectives.
Like all signings, which ever way we go will be a risk.
Thomas Frank would be a good option for me. He has proved at Brentford that he has the tactical ability and he has worked on a shoestring budget by EPL standards.
One thing is for sure, whoever comes in, the Board needs to support them properly. No more third rate acquisitions. There are plenty of good players that will be on Bosmans come the summer. What we need is a manager and a Chairman that have the credibility and charisma to secure them.

12.) 13 Nov 2022 12:09:12
Hearing nothing knew re Gio apart from my post last week.

13.) 13 Nov 2022 12:32:34
Storm he sayed he knew names weeks ago told us then last week therefore the info he had was weeks old was just wondering if he had any updates sorry my question to another user annoyed you.

14.) 13 Nov 2022 13:23:14
Why would Thomas Frank leave the English Premiership to come to Scotland?
Honestly, a sense of realism is required by some as to what our level is now.

15.) 13 Nov 2022 14:20:52
Frank allegedly on 30k a week at Brentford.

16.) 13 Nov 2022 17:29:46
I stand by my info off three names I received, looks like two already out off equation.

17.) 13 Nov 2022 17:57:05
Stormtrooper- think Neville has extended his contract.

18.) 13 Nov 2022 19:49:44
Thank god copland.

19.) 13 Nov 2022 19:50:18
RFC why did it annoy me? It didn’t.

20.) 13 Nov 2022 20:04:40
Guys, I simply named the manager that I would like. I reckon that Frank is a top quality manager and will move from Brentford, it is just the same as saying that I would love to see Rangers playing in a better league than Scotland. Unfortunately to get the quality we want we might have to take a flier on another young manager like Souness in his day or Gerrard for the simple reason that they will attract a quality of player that Wilson will never bring to Rangers!

08 Oct 2022 14:36:46
Rangers apparently offered Rory Willson a good deal but where left stunned with what villa was offering il thinking it must of been 20k a week plus anyone actually know the amount or heard any rumours ?.

1.) 08 Oct 2022 15:53:20
Less than two k a week at villa, he is not even on a pro contract at villa.

2.) 08 Oct 2022 16:15:13
Don't think you can sign pro contract until 18 so doubt he'll be on anything like 20k though I'm sure there will be plenty of incentives and things added on.

3.) 08 Oct 2022 16:15:49
So it’s basicly a load of ? coming out from rangers cheers John.

4.) 08 Oct 2022 17:43:55
Kaiser 16 in Scotland, 17 in England.

5.) 08 Oct 2022 17:46:18
Rangers may not have been talking ? there WILL have been incentives. The rest of the assumptions you made are on you.
I, like most, wouldn't have jumped to the conclusion that he was on a 5 figure weekly wage.

6.) 08 Oct 2022 18:28:44
Rfc22? How have you concluded that it’s a ‘load a rubbish coming out of Rangers? You post something that you read on Footballer Insider which we all know talks crap, even then it credited the info coming from ‘an Ibrox source’, same sort of rubbish they always say.

You then guessed at a figure (which was never going to be anything like the amount being paid to a 16 year old) . Then you state that the club are talking sh*te?!? Maybe just don’t believe every bit of nonsense you read online. It’s likely that what ever we did offer him, Aston Villa were able to offer much more, or at least the promise of much much more once he can sign a professional contract. It’s not exactly surprising that a premier league club can blow us out the water in terms of wages and wage structure.

7.) 08 Oct 2022 23:20:46
What happened to the days when 'online' wasnt the truth?

8.) 09 Oct 2022 09:47:13
Gers not forgetting the wage is severe capped till a player signs a full professional contract in England at 17, good post.

9.) 09 Oct 2022 17:03:25
You know there is ways round about that like the kids dad getting the cash off the club ect.

10.) 09 Oct 2022 17:07:17
Gers the rumours where going about before he moved that rangers offers him the best deal possible if it blew rangers out the water them in thinking it was more than gilmour that was getting 5k through his dad so I was thinking as he was rated the best striker at his age he would of been getting more any way no need to get ? Auld man ?.

11.) 09 Oct 2022 17:09:34
From what I understand young Wilson wanted to move on and I really don't blame him. He looked like a special talent especially in games that he played with Scotland so why, when he had the opportunity to go to an EPL side would he want to stay in a footballing backwater.

yes, it would have been nice if he had stayed with us and possibly progressed to the first team but I really don't blame anyone for furthering their career by moving South!

12.) 09 Oct 2022 17:42:24
RFC he was offered much less than Gilmour, lad had made up his mind he was going to epl

There is no way we were giving a 16 year old more than we were giving Paterson Bassey.

Think it might be worth a punt buying young kai fotheringham from Dundee united.

29 Nov 2023 08:22:45
Andriy Lunin Apparently for sale always wanted this boy since i watch the friendly between Real Madrid and us his shot stoping was impressive.

1.) 29 Nov 2023 08:49:01
We've got Jack Butland in goal rfc.

2.) 29 Nov 2023 09:10:47
Butland is our number 1.

3.) 29 Nov 2023 09:14:21
Rfc, so u binning butland.

4.) 29 Nov 2023 09:24:15
If we can't hold on to Butland, I'd rather see McCrorie become first choice.

5.) 29 Nov 2023 09:52:48
Celtic were linked with him in the summer will be the same in jan I’d imagine.

6.) 29 Nov 2023 09:53:44
We've no need to be looking at a keeper, Butland has been top drawer.

7.) 29 Nov 2023 10:18:54
But will we be able to keep ahold of Butland? Hope so but money talks next summer .

8.) 29 Nov 2023 10:23:21
Butland is the only player that we have that is pure quality at the moment.

9.) 29 Nov 2023 11:29:56
We may need to sell Butland to fund Phils rebuild especially if an offer comes in but if that happens I'd rather Robbie gets a chance.

10.) 29 Nov 2023 12:23:38
Lunin is on £70k a week.

11.) 29 Nov 2023 13:10:53
OWS, with a buyout clause of 4mill, that isht going to fund much of a rebuild.

12.) 29 Nov 2023 13:51:41
BAR72, have you seen his contract with a buyout clause of £4 mill?
Others have stated it is £5 mill. Can't all be right lol.

13.) 29 Nov 2023 14:08:52
I’d like someone to enquire about the reported buyout clause at the agm, as fans we deserve to know what it will take to prize our best player away.

14.) 29 Nov 2023 15:34:37
5m buyout would be shocking if true. That's well below his value.

15.) 29 Nov 2023 16:31:10
No disrespect meant but I doubt we'd have such a low clause but then again so much business done under MB has been poor.

16.) 29 Nov 2023 17:56:31
Another one who has had bad Injury good keeper though would be good shout if fully fit. not tracked him in a while how's he doing lately?

17.) 29 Nov 2023 18:43:38
slim Jim, haven't seen it bit its been discussed on here often enough.
Personally I think he came here to get in the shop window, and had the clause inserted (if true) so he could head back south once he became relevant again.
Only a deep run in Europe will keep him here.

18.) 29 Nov 2023 18:45:09
Not all information can be made public, pretty much like the family.
Would the sell on fee be terrible if he had turned out like Lammers or Dessers and let’s be honest with our recruitment record of late 5 million probably sounded outrageous at the time.

19.) 29 Nov 2023 18:50:41
In my opinion, Butland is a class act and a leader at the same time. If bids do come in (buy out clause tbc) I think they should pull out all the stops to keep him. He could easily be our No.1 for the next 5 years+.

20.) 29 Nov 2023 20:50:25
He should be offered a new improved contract now.
5 year deal, £40k a week.
He’s already in £35k, so that’s what it would take to get him to sign.
In return there is no clause in his deal whatsoever.

If Onana is worth £50m to epl teams, which he clearly isn’t, then Butland is worth £20m easy.

21.) 29 Nov 2023 21:17:11
Couldn’t agree more StevieG2.

22.) 29 Nov 2023 22:18:13
I think butland will be away the the prem again in the summer John would be a good replacement.

23.) 29 Nov 2023 23:14:01
I love Butland but If any player insists on these clauses i wouldn't sign them we are in no position for star players leaving for relative buttons. Celtic are knocking back bids of 10m for players.

24.) 29 Nov 2023 23:51:42
The thing is hammer, I’m not saying Butland is definitely worth the £20m mate, but the prices getting paid for shi* keepers in England, and also for decent keepers, and good keepers, if u use all that as a guide, then is it really outrageous to put £20m price tag on Butland with his undoubted talents. He really is a top class keeper. I think he has it all I can’t pick a fault so far. He’s showing why he was so highly valued as a youngster.
Looks better than Pickford aswell. Someone I’ve never truly rated.
Not ramsdale who I thinks tremendous, but definitely better than Pickford.

25.) 30 Nov 2023 00:24:04
Again can we sell? Was he not a free?

Might depend if man u offered him a contract or is that just for young players?

21 Nov 2023 07:48:21
Right guys let's say we hypothetically get £8million in January to spent via selling 1/ 2 players and the board have had a few Sherrie's before the manager ask them for cash ? what 2/ 3 players would yous go for and buy
/ loan.

1.) 21 Nov 2023 08:48:41
Shankland is a definite.
Improves our attack with a proven goal scorer (plus big Gers fan) and also hurts Hearts team big time.

Dessers is trash and Danilo is still unproven, misses a lot of chances but could come good.

And/ or a left back or LCH but no names come to mind.

2.) 21 Nov 2023 08:52:44
Barron from Aberdeen on a pre contract
Right winger

3.) 21 Nov 2023 08:58:53
RFC we don’t have a player worth 8 million imo.

4.) 21 Nov 2023 09:30:57
I think we do john. considering celtic will get between 20-25 for likes of hatate kyogo o reilly etc.

5.) 21 Nov 2023 09:32:22
We could bundle up a few and sell as a job lot ?.

6.) 21 Nov 2023 09:40:05
I think Danilo will come good. Their striker has played 13 games and scored 6… Danilo played 9 and scored 4 so yeah needs a chance. Shankland a good shout though.

7.) 21 Nov 2023 10:00:06
Probably only player others would want would be Butland and that would seriously weaken us.

8.) 21 Nov 2023 10:17:54
Butland going nowhere in January, I do t see him moving in summer either.
He’s here to win trophies and play games.
Unless top half epl club come in I don’t see him moving in summer.

Shankland for me is the signing of go for but would be capped at £3m max.
We’d have to move dessers or Roofe on first, likely Roofe will see out his deal so need to be dessers.

We need to free up wages, even if we had £8m to spend we can’t afford to add anything to the wage bill until we move players out.

By the sound of Barron he’s a must sign. Tie him doe on pre contract and try get him on the cheap as their fans will turn on him if he signs.

I’d like a centre back but would have to move one out first.
May need to go with mostly what we have tol the summer clearance.

9.) 21 Nov 2023 10:22:26
Paul who at present, ie January window do u think we would get 8 million for

Gers he has a 4/ 5 million sell on clause.

10.) 21 Nov 2023 10:23:13
After the latest set of books we won’t be signing any players and possibly need to release a couple to save cash! The board will have to explain how we can survive running the club the way they do?

11.) 21 Nov 2023 10:54:22
Celtic's recruitment has been much better than ours.

12.) 21 Nov 2023 11:20:03
Yately keep in mind the financial accounts were from 30th June not when they were released. A lot has and will have changed by then.

13.) 21 Nov 2023 12:28:37
Butland, cantwell, raskin, danilo easily. and believe it or not cifu tramsfermarkt valie is 12 mill.

14.) 21 Nov 2023 12:29:54
The only way to compete with our pesky rivals is to win trophies consistently and continue to beat them on the park =at this time home and away . the money will then come in bundles.

15.) 21 Nov 2023 12:36:19
You are talking nonsense Ally.
Shot to goal conversion.
Danilo - 14%
Dessers - 13%
Shankland - 11%
In the SPFL.
Danilo scores every 85 minutes
Dessers scores every 116 minutes
Shankland scores every 216 minutes
So you want to buy a player who takes more shots to score and scores less frequently than our current 2 strikers.
Thank goodness you aren’t Director of Football.

16.) 21 Nov 2023 13:19:46
Paul at these prices I’d sell all tomorrow.

Good stats ph.

17.) 21 Nov 2023 13:33:03
davidb, so you are telling me everything is ok after blowing £13 million on players in the summer? Am I missing something or is there other cash coming in?

18.) 21 Nov 2023 14:19:03
I view Butland as our prized asset, and must be kept.

19.) 21 Nov 2023 14:40:26
Raskin isn't even shining through in spfl games.

20.) 21 Nov 2023 14:50:39
Why would Butland insist on sell on of 4-5mill? Because he is putting himself in the shop window for a move back to EPL (imo) .
Unless we have a run to the latter stages of the EL, he is off.

21.) 21 Nov 2023 14:53:34
Shankland, 20 games started 19, 11 goals marginally better than 1 in 2

Dessers, 22 games started 15, 6 goals.

22.) 21 Nov 2023 14:58:20
Yately - The word "Players" is taking the definition to the extreme I would say mate?.

23.) 21 Nov 2023 16:00:01
Yes, I remember when those were the parameters to measure goal scorers in the good old days but yourself and others brought in the ones I mentioned above to make Colak's tally look amazing last season, Boy Blue?
And Shankland has scored 2 penalties in that total.
Give Dessers, Tavs penalty goals and he would be on - Dessers, 22 games started 15, 12 goals. Marginally better than 1 in 2.?
That's the beauty of stats - we can manipulate them any way we like.
Always better though to stick to the same parameters - wouldn't you agree?
And didn't you also champion it was SPFL goals where we needed a 20+ goal striker, BoyBlue?
This season so far in the SPFL:-
Shankland - 5 in 12
Danilo - 4 in 9
Dessers - 4 in 11
Sima has 5 in 12 ( same as Shankland ) without penalties though.
But if penalties are a parameter they are all beat by Tav who has 6 in 12.
Shankland is not of the standard required at any price.

24.) 21 Nov 2023 16:49:19
MPH i'd rather Shankland than Dessers by far if given the choice but i wouldn't buy Shankland for 3m.

I trust my eyes more than stats, Dessers is an absolute donkey.

25.) 21 Nov 2023 16:53:39
Yately where did I say that? Never even said they’d have changed for the better. However do you think PC would’ve came in without some sort of assurances that he’d be backed in January? No chance.

26.) 21 Nov 2023 18:02:08
Dessers ability ( or lack off ) isn’t the question, Dado.
It’s that some would spend £5 million on another striker who statistically isn’t any better than someone you class as a ‘donkey’.
So what does that make Shankland? Arse end of the donkey?

27.) 21 Nov 2023 19:02:44
So tattie heed, your saying I manipulated the stats to make colak look good? Now your using the same manipulated stats (your words) to make dessers look good? That makes sense. When I put colaks stats up I was told by yourself and others I was manipulating the stats, when that isn't true, I've not once said your manipulating stats, there's just different ways of looking at it. Please show me where I manipulated the stats, are you saying my post is wrong? Of course I've championed a 20+ striker in spl do you not? Is the season finished? What's your point? If penalties are a parameter? What you on about do they not count as goals in your world? Give dessers tavs penalties? And he would be a 1 in 2 striker ??? coming from the guy who's favourite phrase is "mental gymnastics" am not sure that's allowed ?.

28.) 21 Nov 2023 19:55:09
Yateley, you have to remember that although summer transfers in might not be included neither is the transfers out. No club pays all the fees up front and every club is carrying moneys owed in their accounts . I read that our friends across the city owed £50million on fees due to other clubs, that's much more than us.

29.) 21 Nov 2023 21:04:49
Agree dado we can put up all the stats we want, the eyes don't lie.
A hope and pray dessers can be the striker we want him to be, definitely won't give up on him, as long as he's giving his all, imo he hasn't shown anything to suggest he can be the stiker we need, sometimes think he maybe tries to hard. Not sure where the figure of 5million for shankland is coming from? Is someone in the know? Or is a complete guess?

30.) 21 Nov 2023 23:29:31
I've watched Shankland more closely after being linked with us MPH and for me superior in a few areas.
Holding the ball up,
Aerial ability,
They both aren't the quickest.
Tell me 1 single thing dessers has done well in all his games?
Hes constantly offside or fouling.
He can't run, jump or bully defenders.
His touch is awful.

What does he do? He made 1 good pass against PSV at home that's all I've seen. i'd love to hear your answers. Without using pointless stats.

31.) 22 Nov 2023 05:09:33
Thought he played well on Scotland debut few years ago.
A lot better than I thought and as u say dado very good at holding ball up.

32.) 22 Nov 2023 09:49:18
He’s scored 1 less goal than Shankland in the league having played a game less.
He scores more frequently than Shankland than having played less minutes.
He takes more of his chances than Shankland.
He offers more to the team - 3 assists - Shankland has 2.
He has a higher pass accuracy than Shankland - 73% to 66%.
He wins more aerial duels than Shankland - 48% to 39%.
He also loses possession less than Shankland - average 6 per game to Shankland 18.
I think you should get yourself along to spec savers, Dado.

33.) 22 Nov 2023 13:33:30
He is playing in a team who create far more chances and possession than Hearts. If we all went off stats surely we would have signed Kevin Van Veen?
You can only compare Rangers players stats with Celtic stats to have a closer comparison.
I am in no way saying go all out to sign Shankland but Dessers has not had a single game where he has been on fire or made you think there might be a player in there. An honest tryer but anyone can do that. Woefully short on talent. It can only be described as another failure in recruitment.

34.) 22 Nov 2023 14:54:15
You are wrong though about creating chances, Dado.
Shankland has more shots at goal than Danilo and Dessers.
He just fails to convert them.
And I'm talking about losing possession. Who you play for shouldn't hinder your ability to pass to a team mate?
Plus I'm not saying Dessers is the real deal - just pointing out for someone that is a 'donkey' according to some then his game stands up to Shankland statistically.

35.) 22 Nov 2023 16:48:53
You can look at it like this, how many shots has dessers taken? I feel like he doesn't pull the trigger when he should and takes too many touches or it gets trapped under his feet. i'd rather my striker taking a pop more often maybe that's why shankland has a lower conversion rate?
Danilo has a lot of shots that miss the target too but his all round game and threat is far greater than dessers.
You may well be proven right if we did sign Shankland mate. Just not a fan of big cyriel at all. i'd love him to turn it around but i can't see anything to indicate it will.

16 Nov 2023 23:39:12
People saying we should go get shankland I would agree at £2million apparently hearts want £4/ 5million tho surely if that's is true we can get better for our cash.

1.) 17 nov 2023 01:07:04
i was one who said we should have got him long ago, rangers fan to his bones, scores goals for fun, confident and a grafter, no brainer, sadly none of our previous managers couls see it so he's probabky lost to us now, just like the ferguson boy, , you can bet your bottom dollar had any of these two boys been celtic supporters they would have been at parkhead long ago, I've had that said to me numerous times by a lisbon lion who still works at celtic, we fxxxked up, simple as that, walter would have had both i'm in no doubt, a massive massive error on both no matter what, ferguson was a surefire future captain, shankland is as close as you get to hateley, god knows what his numbers would be now and what might have been, sadly probably too late, we thought we had better,

2.) 17 Nov 2023 01:09:17
Not for the price hearts would want. 1-2m would be max. Due to age and no sale value.

3.) 17 Nov 2023 05:32:46
Here's a question fellow bears regarding shankland, who would undoubtedly score goals for us if we could get him ?If we made moves to sign shankland and with the money hearts would be looking for, what player within our squad could we offer hearts as part exchange with cash for shankland ? Remembering the player we offer has to appeal to hearts as well as us preparing to let the player go as part of any deal, thoughts on this guys ?.

4.) 17 Nov 2023 06:09:10
Yea Tom Celtic just like they did with John McGinn
Grass is always greener
No assurance these players would shine at our club with our fan base
Look at Charlie Millar and more recently Cedric itten
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

5.) 17 Nov 2023 07:50:15
Dado sometimes the actual worth of having the player outweighs the sell on value mate ? If you think any particular player can come in and be a very good signing for you then you pay what you deem a fair price simple as that ?.

6.) 17 Nov 2023 07:54:29
Do we know that we’re actually interested in shankland?

7.) 17 Nov 2023 08:05:59
I would rather Shankland over Roofe and Dessers within the current squad.

8.) 17 Nov 2023 08:55:30
I was never on the sign Shankland side, until I saw him at the recent game at Ibrox thought he had a smashing game that day and changed my mind.

9.) 17 Nov 2023 08:12:09
Why would Hearts not want 4 or 5 million? The guy is a goalscoring international player with a pot 2 side who are in the euros. He should've been signed instead of Dessers in the summer.

10.) 17 Nov 2023 09:41:22
Should have been signed, scoring goals domestically, European and country levels . I see him a bit like Boyd, would have scored for fun so the fee hearts wanted was probably fair considering what we paid for other players who won’t do what shankland does.

11.) 17 Nov 2023 09:41:31
Shankland is worth £5m all day long to Rangers. He would score loads of goals and lead the line.
Look what we paid for Dessers and Danilo. Danilo has only just now came on to a game and even then, he misses a lot of chances.
Dessers will likely never turn it around.

Horrendous mistake if Gers do not sign Shanks in January.
We do not need him for resale value. We need him to score loads of goals and help us win trophies.

12.) 17 Nov 2023 09:42:09
Comparing Shankland to Hateley is a bit of a leap mind.

13.) 17 Nov 2023 10:18:01
There is absolutely no way we are shelling out a few million in January for Shankland to be a second choice striker behind Danilo.
And while we still have Dessers and Roofe on the books. Unless either can be moved on.

14.) 17 Nov 2023 11:28:35
Shankland would be ahead of Danilo. Danilo can come off the bench until he proves he is better.
Shankland would score loads of goals.
Dessers and Roofe need punted somehow, there are a waste of a strip at this point.

15.) 17 Nov 2023 11:30:57
We will never get our money back for Dessers and would probably have to pay over the odds for Shankland who is much better suited to Scottish Football. Not a great advert for player trading on our part.

16.) 17 Nov 2023 12:01:10
We do need to be looking at buying best of Scottish too where applicable as I feel we could have done better than Yilmaz for LB position without paying 4mill etc - good Gers teams of past had Scottish identity and steel mixed with foreign players - the right blend is required so hopefully PC can see the need for identity in the ranks at Ibrox- we had a chance of Shankland for around 100k when scoring for fun at Ayr Utd - but that was obviously beneath us then - speculate to accumulate is the motto!

17.) 17 Nov 2023 12:39:49
I’ll probable take some stick for this but I have seen more of him this season and I would like rangers to sign but only if the price is right no way are we spanking 4/ 5 million on him. 2 million max. I always thought he was a bit like boyd too as someone further up said but he has more to his game than that and I do believe he would be better in Europe than boyd was for us too. I have no doubt the man that is obsessed with me will have something to say.

18.) 17 Nov 2023 12:53:44
Shankland is nothing like Hayley. Totally different players.
Just cause he scored a header the other night and scores then now and again doesn’t make him mark Hayley.
Chris Sutton was closest thing I’ve seen to mark barely in Scotland.

Anyway, shankland. A fair price all round is £3m £3.5 at a push.

Look what we paid for dessers is going to be hearts argument but we would go back with his euro record from 2 seasons ago as answer to that.

In terms of who can we swap?
If it’s true clement doesn’t fancy Souttar, he’s an option.
What’s defines future look like under clement? Is he worth say £1m atm?
Scott wright in January swap plus cash?

For me in terms of realism that’s about your whack in terms of players who might go to hearts that hearts would want.

19.) 17 Nov 2023 13:35:34
Shankland ahead of danilo until he proves himself? Would shankland not need to come here and prove himself also? He might very well come to the club and flop ( like he did his last club) he might struggle massively with the pressure. For me danil is better than him all round anyway. But take him over dessers or biscuit legs any day.

20.) 17 Nov 2023 13:36:31
Looking at what we did buy, maybe we should have gone and got Shankland but I really can`t see us paying what Hearts would want for him. Comparing him to Hateley is laughable, Mark Hateley was an all round centre forward, great in the area, good on the ground, could set up and score goals, bully defenders and had pace. Sutton was nowhere near as good either as he was dead slow. Probably the nearest there has been in Scotland is Dado Prso but even he wasn`t as good as big Hates. A Shankland comparison for me would be Sandy Clark, a regular goal scoring blue nose who we eventually signed and who tried his heart out every game . Unfortunately it just didn`t work out for him at Ibrox. He was compared to Colin Stein when he signed, don`t get me started on that one.

21.) 17 Nov 2023 13:51:42
Shankland over Danilo not a chance shankland would be 2nd choice.

22.) 17 Nov 2023 13:58:01
Sutton was a fantastic striker, anyone denying that is just being spiteful or blind.

He was everything u mentioned other than pacey but I don’t remember Hayley being pacey it wasn’t one of his main attributes.

Both are strong, powerful good in the air, well outstanding in the air actually. Both scored a lot of goals, mostly headers. Both set up a lot for their partners, mccoist, shearer n Larson, they’re almost identical strikers in how they played the game and their main attributes.

23.) 17 nov 2023 15:01:24
hateley was very pacy, very deceptive, and i never said same as hateley, he's the closest to hateley in the country atm, nobody else does what shankland does well,

hateley looked slow and ungainly fir months, then nobody could stop him, big strong fast and brave, ,

24.) 17 nov 2023 15:57:20
, mols, mcginn was the pawn between rodgers and the celtic board, ,

charlie millar was a supremely talented boy, should have gone much much further, although i'm not sure what your talking about as charlie was at rangers fron school

nobody said anything about guarantees, just that shankland would have probably been a decent signing,

25.) 17 Nov 2023 17:09:36
Hearts would never sell shankland for 1-2 million unless he was in last year of deal or something

Hearts would take one look at how much we paid for dessers and lammers and say 5million

Just look at what they did with souttar

Anyone that thinks 2 million gets shankland is bonkers

And training Lowry would be even more idiotic.

26.) 17 Nov 2023 18:45:33
Mols celtic tried to sign mcginn and were priced out of it. We didn't go for any of the guys mentioned as far as I'm aware.
You are correct that there is no assurances, but one main assurance is they can do it in spl, as the above boys mentioned did well at their clubs before they got there move, shankland still doing well.

Taking punts on foreign players and ignoring our own homegrown talent hasn't got us very far in recent years. All our successful teams had Scottish players at the core of it. Why are we ignoring this now?
Not sure what you mean with itten? We are talking about homegrown talent, that we didn't spot.

27.) 17 Nov 2023 18:47:41
Shankland or Dinilho, shankland as back up, 2-4 mill no thanks, unless we go 2 up front with them both, then he is not a target for me.

28.) 17 Nov 2023 19:13:22
StevieG2, Hateley was miles better than Sutton and if you don`t remember him being pacey, go on to You Tube and watch some of his goals as he races away from defenders to score. When McCoist broke his leg, Hates took over the mantle of goalscorer not just provider for his mates . He was great in the air but scored some fantastic goals with that left peg of his, Elland Road comes to mind. I hate Mutton with a passion but even before he became a rentamouth cheerleader for the other mob, I wouldn`t class him as anywhere near Big Mark and its not just bias because I do rate the likes of Larsson.

Wsl I totally agree Hayley was a far better player than Sutton mate.
I’m just saying they were very similar in style and attributes.

I’m only 37 mate so time wise a was a kid when barely was with us.
Most of my knowledge of barely is from watching the videos of 9 in a row.
Maybe he had more pace than I remember as 3 people now said it so I must be wrong.

Hateley wtf did I just read! Shankland is nothing like the big man. Incredible comparison. A player who graced the San Siri and a Hearts player.
