Paper saying balogun not to be offered a new contract I think we are daft if we don't offer the big man another year he's great back up.

Rfc22

1.) 16 Apr 2025 22:10:43
Correct decision time to move on.

2.) 16 Apr 2025 22:16:16
Hes carted off injured in half of his games now. His body can't handle it. Keep him around as an ambassador bur his times coming to an end.

3.) 16 Apr 2025 22:22:53
I think it's time to move on.

4.) 16 Apr 2025 22:29:54
Lets leave the past behind mate that includes ageing players.

5.) 16 Apr 2025 22:45:48
A coach role maybe someone needs to teach rest of team how to defend.

6.) 16 Apr 2025 22:57:22
I'd be willing to keep him on another year but he should probably be on less since his workload will simply have to be reduced. he's one in very few in the current dressing room that actually seem to give a damn. A commodity useful with so many fresh faces due in and something we can't guarantee we can buy.

7.) 16 Apr 2025 22:58:14
He's been a great servant for the Gers, but it's time to look for the future… A smashing big guy✌️??.

8.) 16 Apr 2025 23:01:15
I'd keep him on as 5th choice cb, we can't get rid of everyone the summer and he offers quality, experience and continuity
He's a great player to bring in a couple of times next season. Maybe he never had to play and that's the great thing about him and keeping him. We know what we've got, his wages are low and he's happily stay as 5th choice when not a lot would.

9.) 16 Apr 2025 23:09:33
He's an average injury prone CB at his best being made to look good by the likes of proper, Love his attitude love how he conducts himself but There's no way he should be near the Match day squad for Rangers next season.

10.) 16 Apr 2025 23:36:24
Id maybe keep him another year cause and keep the rebuild done in stages.

11.) 17 Apr 2025 00:23:32
He should be player coach. He gets it. Most don't, he does. Must sign him as a coach.

12.) 17 Apr 2025 01:29:02
GD10 not as simple as that. He might not want to coach, he might also be terrible at it.

Imo he should be kept around the place helping as a kind of liason to help new signings bed in.

It's his home here, even when he retires he'll probably stay in Glasgow. He's smitten here.

13.) 17 Apr 2025 07:56:21
I know it's not mate.

But that's what I would want to happen. If he wants to go for his badges then Rangers should encourage his stay.

14.) 17 Apr 2025 08:08:44
I mind PC saying he's an excellent role model and helps the younger guys out quite a bit. Been a cracking servant, wish he was 5 or 6 years younger.

15.) 17 Apr 2025 08:25:29
His time has come to retire. We want to keep him on as we love the bug guy. He gets Rangers. We are still thinking small as a fan base. A new era is coming in soon . We need to raise our standards in all ways. Especially on the field.

16.) 17 Apr 2025 08:37:37
Fork, completely agree.

17.) 17 Apr 2025 09:32:10
Big balogun would stay at Rangers for a pittance, he loves the club.

18.) 17 Apr 2025 09:34:29
Great big guy - would have been ideal if/ when he was in his prime -he has served us well and truly believe he loves our club but this is where sentiment stops and we need to move on from him?.

19.) 17 Apr 2025 10:26:44
Use him sparingly but give the guy a coaching job .

20.) 17 Apr 2025 11:46:54
Balogun made his professional debut in 2008. In 17 years he has been invo In 350 matches many as a sub. So he has averaged 20 game involvement in that time.

A good average journey man, who is very likeable and does appear to love our club.

His issue in the main is muscular problems Which severely impacts on his ability to play more than two starts at any given time.

It is time to move on with the love off our support,

21.) 17 Apr 2025 11:57:33
True blue I believe he's already on a very small wage. Around £3k a week I think.

22.) 17 Apr 2025 12:24:54
I like big Leon and only wish he had come to us earlier but he has fitness issues and in the last two or three games he has really looked his age. Its time to thank him for his service and move on. We need to let him go and sell Propper and bring in a couple of new centre backs, preferably ones that are, tall, quick and physical, younger versions of Leon in fact . Along with Souttar and a developing Nsiala that would give us cover and options at the back.

23.) 17 Apr 2025 12:36:48
Thought balogun was great once propper went of against bilbao last week.

05 Jan 2025 16:54:36
John any chance of cheering us up and telling us of a few players rangers are looking at.

Rfc22

1.) 05 Jan 2025 17:39:40
TBH, it doesn't look like we're going to do much business this window. I'd love to see some leave. Tav, Yilmaz, Dowell, Lawrence and Matondo have no future at Rangers.

2.) 05 Jan 2025 18:50:15
Just my opinion Mark ie. tav will be here until at least the end of the season and ridvan i rate and would like us to keep unless he definitely wants to go and it has to be for a decent transfer fee ?I agree with you regarding dowell, matondo and lawrence ?.

3.) 05 Jan 2025 20:11:32
Mark, if Yilmaz has no future, why is th coach playing him?

4.) 05 Jan 2025 20:18:00
Because Mark hasn't told PC this yet ?.

5.) 05 Jan 2025 20:30:33
Angus, i will be informing Clement first thing tomorrow morning on my decision to let those players go ?.

6.) 05 Jan 2025 21:15:22
De Boer because if you haven’t noticed we are down to the bear bones in defence because of injuries it’s not rocket science.

De boer do you think dowell has a future at ibrox? I don’t but pc started him the other week ?.

7.) 06 Jan 2025 08:40:33
Yilmaz is playing right back because all our other defenders are injured.

Thought that was obvious.

03 Dec 2024 23:00:41
Anyone know what's happing with Brandon Williams I though we would of taken a punt on him.

Rfc22

1.) 03 Dec 2024 23:12:04
apparently was on 70-80k a week mate.

2.) 04 Dec 2024 00:11:22
Yeah we aren’t interested.

3.) 04 Dec 2024 00:59:11
Hes on zero at the moment.

4.) 04 Dec 2024 05:02:23
true EB
he cqn play both full back positions and part of back 3, which i think we should play celtic with.
1 year deal with club option of 2nd on 25k? he'd need be starter for us though.

5.) 04 Dec 2024 07:54:17
Wouldn't be paying anyone 25k a week now. Also it's insane the wages in the EPL it's 80k a week for bog standard players. Nuts.

6.) 04 Dec 2024 08:41:09
cant afford to pay good players these days. How much is Dessers on? HAHA

Hence why the Scottish league is gash.

Rebuilding a team using less wages and less transfer money available was always going to make the team worse, especially at the beginning.

7.) 04 Dec 2024 09:40:31
naw rhis is true. probably best to avoid the lad, be a reason nobody has took him on.

8.) 04 Dec 2024 13:06:46
After his initial breakthrough at Utd he has had a couple of uninspiring loans at Norwich and Ipswich . Neither club signed him when he was freed by Man Utd and he hasn`t been picked up by any other team in the EFL even. That is maybe an indication of something going on with him either on or off the field that means we are doing the right thing leaving him alone.
I don`t see us signing anybody in January that hasn`t had a club since the end of last season, it would take too much time to get them match fit after such a long lay off.

12 Jun 2024 14:13:06
We seem to be doing decent business early john27 you hearing of any more out the door?

Rfc22

1.) 12 Jun 2024 16:21:23
We need to wait for window to open, but plenty will go RFC.

2.) 12 Jun 2024 17:09:28
Looking forward to the clear out John. Hope a few of the big earners lead the way!

12 Jun 2024 03:54:59
Does any one know if we are interested in Tommy Conway or off it is just paper talk.

Rfc22

1.) 12 Jun 2024 05:48:05
Asked this a couple of times this week, I think we were at one point in Jan, but not heard anything since or from any of the guys on here.

2.) 12 Jun 2024 06:39:15
Probably just paper talk, because we couldn't afford Conway, but he's not signing another contract with Bristol City, so he could be signed on pre-contract in January, ooc 2025,should have been in Scotland's squad in the first place anyway, Conway would be some signing for us.

3.) 12 Jun 2024 07:38:42
Genuine question did the manger say he wanted him?
Seems to be a theme now ??.

4.) 12 Jun 2024 08:11:30
Wolves credited with an interest £5-8 million as it stands, shame cause in January it would only be about £300,000 according to media, apparently us, tims n wolves interested, prob correct Star, not heard PC mention him Stig, but u never know.

5.) 12 Jun 2024 08:44:45
From what I understand, Fork, Wolves (or any English team) would need to pay a decent fee (or risk a tribunal setting one for them which can be high down there) . Whereas we would only need to pay a fairly nominal development fee as he'd be moving outwith the EFA.

That worked in our favour for Aribo, but I'd imagine his team would prefer to tout him to Wolves, and I suspect the contract on offer there would blow ours out of the water. Sounds like an agent using us to maximise his players' worth to me.

6.) 12 Jun 2024 08:59:45
No thanks.

7.) 12 Jun 2024 09:07:31
Last seasons stats 43 games / 12 goals (5 of those penalties)

8.) 12 Jun 2024 09:21:15
Spot on Yo jimbo that's why I include the 5-8 million figure, puts wolves at the forefront, as opposed to the cross border development fee that us ir celtic would pay from January??.

Watching the county vs livi game it's been a cracker.

Rfc22

1.) 26 May 2025 21:41:40
Hopefully livi come up.

2.) 26 May 2025 21:58:20
Not a fan of the plastic pitch, but chuffed for Fraser- and also Wilson, Kelly and Finlayson.

3.) 26 May 2025 22:00:21
They deserved it goal in the last 10 seconds anaw brilliant game of football.

4.) 26 May 2025 22:01:54
Pleased for Davie Martindale but hate that pitch.

5.) 26 May 2025 22:18:53
I'm sure that it was reported they will be ripping the pitch up for next season.

6.) 26 May 2025 22:36:28
Id rather that pitch that go to county tbh we always struggle up there.

7.) 26 May 2025 22:49:19
Yeah they are ripping the pitch up for next season and replacing it with another artificial surface.

8.) 26 May 2025 22:50:24
A don't think you can come bk into the spl unless its a grass pitch.

9.) 26 May 2025 23:01:53
East Belfast, think it's currently the 2026 season - but I'm sure that's being challenged.

We could have three next year, Killie, Falkirk and now Livi.

10.) 26 May 2025 23:03:13
The pitch changes come into effect from next season.

11.) 27 May 2025 00:26:39
Don't think livi will lay a new artificial pitch to rip it up a season later.

12.) 27 May 2025 00:27:26
I also believe that if you get promoted to the sock you should be given 2/ 3 years to lay a grass pitch as it could be a massive outlay for some clubs.

13.) 27 May 2025 04:17:32
Grass pitch ruling comes into play from season 26/ 27. Livi are indeed ripping up their pitch for a new upgraded artificial pitch this summer.

14.) 27 May 2025 04:41:59
Ayrshire

Kìllie said same bout ripping up carpet next season well not going hang by neck for completion proper playing surface. Killie don't have wherewithal to change surface. ⁵.

15.) 27 May 2025 07:45:20
Hate the pitch. I'd try send Fraser back on loan and at least one other.

16.) 27 May 2025 08:16:36
EHL you are right Falkirk are thinking of taking legal action as they down think they can be forced to change to grass.

17.) 27 May 2025 08:22:48
Does Livi own the stadium, i thought it was the council that owned that.

17 May 2025 15:23:52
Well done to big dessers top goal scorer in the league this season with 18 and a goal every 120 mins played.

Rfc22

1.) 17 May 2025 15:32:07
Fair play to him and all the best on his future, weather its with us or if he moves on ??.

2.) 17 May 2025 15:46:34
I think Murray can draw level if he scores a couple tomorrow.

3.) 17 May 2025 16:19:27
MOH possibly but all Dessers were played in top half of league.

4.) 17 May 2025 16:37:40
Raskin has also gone joint top of the assists leaderboards as well I believe.

5.) 17 May 2025 17:06:18
Tav that's something he's added to his game.

6.) 17 May 2025 17:23:34
And Goals ows he had a double today mate.

10 May 2025 08:10:34
What's everyone's thoughts on cifuentes fee I believe it's £1.8 million pounds and the club he's at has asked us to lower the fee. For me we try and sell him to a different club he's been capped 21 times and had a decent season.

Rfc22

1.) 10 May 2025 08:38:26
Honestly have no idea.

Haven't been following him, so have no idea how he's playing or if he's settled.

Suspect he may be like a few others we have and it may be a case of damage limitation.

2.) 10 May 2025 09:04:07
What is the legalities of an obligation to buy. Is it set in stone. Can the club who have had your player on loan back out or renegotiate the fee. If they can then an obligation to buy is a waste of time. Ed can you clarify. Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - they can ask to renegotiate, but the selling club can refuse. There is usually a penalty clause, where they pay X amount to back out or renegotiate, included in the deal. It is usually a comparatively high amount, to make it not worth their time doing so unless they absolutely have to.}

3.) 10 May 2025 09:48:17
The Cifu loan is an option to buy, not an obligation.

I wrote obligation yesterday on error - my bad.

4.) 10 May 2025 10:08:52
I imagine every club does this and tries to get the best deal for their club. If we aren't trying to renegotiate the fees for Kasa and Cerny then I would be disappointed. they can only say no and we are no worse off than we were.

5.) 10 May 2025 10:16:15
Thanks Ed.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate.}

6.) 10 May 2025 11:10:09
Sell him for what we can get but put a hefty sell on clause in.

7.) 10 May 2025 11:43:49
The big question is, are there any other clubs interested? I think Cifu and his agent will play hard ball with us because Cifu will want to stay in Greece and we don't want an unhappy player at the club earning a wage. To be honest I think we over paid in the first place for Cifu. I would sell cheap and cut our loses and start the process of improving how we scout so that we can avoid these mistakes in the future.

8.) 10 May 2025 16:16:27
Ed, I believe this was the case with Tillman, who was on loan at us from Bayern. Not sure, but I think they had to pay us something like £5m to back out of the deal and keep the player?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know to be honest, it is difficult to keep track of all transfers.}

9.) 10 May 2025 17:38:05
No bother, thanks Ed.

01 Jan 2025 21:03:42
890k after add ons for Barron and a sell on clause for a player out of contract they have to be joking that's in my opinion about half his value.
