Had a few scoops tonight so my apologies for poor spelling or if I offend or drift off it's not intended, something that's always irked me is sometimes the contempt for our own players, past or present, I'm 40, and I'm astonished at some of the things in regards to Barry Ferguson, maybe it's younger lads that's not saw him actually play or how much a leader he was it possibly could be older I'm not sure, I just don't understand it, I don't mean his punditry or radio stuff, I actually think he just says how it is but I simply cannot understand how anyone can't see him as gift to our club, for me he was absolutely magnificent, for him to break into that squad we had at that time speaks for it's self and to be 17 or 18 I'm sure? Unbelievable, is it because he was Scottish he doesn't get the recognition? I actually feel Neil mcann doesn't get the credit he deserves too, I'd walk over broken glass for a mile in bare feet to see The likes of them again in our jersey.

When does barry ferguson not get recognition? Everybody knows he was a class act as a player not heard anybody say otherwise. Its when folk start mentioning his name at ibrox as Manager or some sort of coaching capacity people start to worry or voice opinions ( and rightly so)

Barry Ferguson was a fantastic midfielder and rangers captain no doubt about that and as i've said before imo he's the best scottish midfielder to come out of scotland in the last quarter of a century or so?Baz was quality ?.

Fergie had it all, I see shades of him in Raskin at this early stage with us. I agree with the poster who said that the only adverse comments were when he was suggested as Manager, much as I liked him, he wouldn't have cut it as our Manager.

Loved fergie as a player . He’s been linked with a role at ibrox a few times, but just maybe, there is something in the background that isn’t right.
Would prefer Kevin Thompson myself, why I don’t really know .

Great player, person that shouldn't get anywhere near coaching here. I think him lingering in the background would put any rangers manager off signing his nephew.

there's been a mountain of former rangers players (scottish only ) ripped apart on here. even players from other clubs who happened to support rangers are not liked. it's a strange phenomenon here, from ferguson to burke, big duncan to boydy, a veritable plethora of scottish rangers supporting football players, all torn apart at some point or other, for what it's worth i agree with coops, barry was way ahead of his time, as was durranty.
