First poster. Definitely need a ball winning front man so we can mix things up when plan A isn't providing dividends. Andy Carroll would run amok up here if he could stay fit. We're well off in defence and midfield so I hope our final signing is someone of that type of player. Defoe and Morelos can be marked out of a game but a big physical presence up front is always a good option to have. Thoughts fellow bluenoses?

{Ed0333's Note - Andy Carroll would be prolific in the Alehouses in Glasgow, those are the only places he’d run amok. I wouldn’t touch him with the biggest bargepole in the UK.

I heard he likes a drink too. Injury prone and a taste for the drink is never good for a footballer. No chance he will sign for us imo.

Think Pedro has done great early business but hope Walker and Dorrans can get done too as I fully believe a good balance of Scottish players and quality foreign players can bring us very watchable football with some success if they want it enough!

Bears whether its before or after the 18th we must sign Morelos the lad has a massive future. At only 20 we would be in line to make a few bob too something that this Club has been denied.

Don't think we need Walker and how much would he cost anyway?

Got to have a bit of pace tomorrow. Windass in midfield or ohaaloran up front. Thoughts?

I would play with them both. I would not start Waghorn but rather have MO with his pace on that side to get at Tierney. McKay with his pace down the other wing. Barton sitting and Forester and Windass in the midfield. Miller up top and the defence pick itself.

2.) 10 Sep 2016 01:32:14
O'Halloran, thought he'd be great when he joined, but I'd put money on him not starting tomorrow.

Windass, love to see him start, expect either him or Waghorn to get the nod.

If Windass starts, Forrester plays right flank. If Waghorn starts Forrester plays in the midfield three.

Rather start Waghorn. With any scenario, Forrester has to play.

I agree think both windass and MOH should start would go with Garner through the middle and King kenny wide left would also like to see big Niko start in a 3 man midfield with Barton and windass praying senderos starts too.

4.) 10 Sep 2016 08:24:44
Trueblue i'd definitely go with windass but i'd b tempted to leave moh on the bench until the last 25 when his pace can really hurt them when the games abit stretched.

Still think a big bustling centre forward was needed this window. We need to have something different upfront which I don't think we have at the moment. Getting balls into the box when we need to win games late on has got to be our plan b when the tidy passing the ball through is not working imo.

Doesn't matter how big or bustling he is if he can't pass the ball, and if he can do both he's on 200k a week in the English premiership.

2.) 01 Sep 2016 00:26:06
There's more leagues than England the Dutch league etc been known to produce a few gems don't know why were only shopping in the English championship and below?

3.) 01 Sep 2016 17:59:38
Fair enough we signed few youth player but we need first team players all of his so called contacts in English Premiership and we couldn't get one player in on loan Chelsea have loaned out 38 players chambers from Arsenal would have been perfect for us even man city got so many players but usual story only player we get is a has been senderos and still can't understand for the life of me why we signed hill we could have put their wages together and signed a decent centre back.

First time post folks. Need to be more direct as today could have cost us. Get the ball in the box as soon as we can. Anything can happen. Deflection or lucky break. Too much overplaying at times. When we reach the last third fire it in. A few times today Motherwell defenders were very close to putting it in their own net.

1.) 21 Aug 2016 09:39:07
The problem is that the Motherwell defenders were not being challenged for the ball in there! No one there apart from when we're in gung ho mode trying to snatch a win in the last 5! Garner will be crucial to us because that is what he does well.

2.) 21 Aug 2016 08:21:05
I feel our problem is we don't have any players in the box when the ball eventually gets played in an Ally McCoist or a Kris Boyd type of player would do well in this team let's hope joe garner offers us something different.

3.) 21 Aug 2016 10:27:55
This left to right, right to left left play is frustrating the life out of me. I agree we need to more direct. Miller sits too deep. How many times did we put the ball in box in the first half and Miller was nowhere to be seen. Then he finally gets his chance one on one with the keeper and he guffs it. When Miller had too much time to think, he's useless. He's an instinct player. Being more direct and clinical is a huge must.
