Ross Wilson in talks to sign Ryan Porteous on a free transfer.
Probably to replace Helander who is injury prone and out of contract in the summer.
Not his biggest fan but he is on fringes of Scotland side which helps our quota for the European games and he has better injury record than Helander.

I’ve always liked him as a defender for hibs. yes he had a big mouth sometimes and says daft things plenty of young guy have tho so won’t hold that against him… he seams to be maturing out of the rash tackles as he gets older… so I’d take him at rangers. won’t definitely be a better signing than Souttar has been.

I actually rate Porteous, could see him doing very well at Ibrox or down south. Previously we had expressed interest in Harry Souter but can’t see anything happening there now after his World Cup exploits.

Porteous has pace and is not afraid of a tackle and knows demands of Scottish Prem. If we clear the nonsense from his head - there is definitely a player there.
Wouldn't be a bad addition in my view.

He doesn't necessarily improve the first team, but on a free he improves the squad depth and our home grown quota.

With Goldson, Souttar and Davies having injury issues, seems the perfect player to take some of the burden in the 'lesser' matches on the SPL.

Cooper (Millwall CH) is an interesting one. I’ve seen him many times at the Den and whilst I like him and think he’s a good player I think it’s fair to say he has not progressed or developed at the rate expected over the last 3 years. If I had to choose between Cooper and Porteous today I would now go for the later. Better age and Scottish just give him edge imo.

He's not a big cb what is what we need, we have no height in our side, and in my opinion Cooper is a step up from porteous just now, he maybe get a lot better in his career but not now.

Did he actually describe him as a snake and vermin? I thought it was the lyrics to a song he posted then deleted. Was listening to Marvin Bartley on radio and he was saying Dykes said Beale is the best he’s ever worked with. I’d love it if we signed him.
