Not major news at all but Ally just said on talksport he was talking to guy behind him at our game yesterday who was one of Southampton's scouts, wasn't sure they would be allowed access to games in current climate, would have thought they would have had to watch tv like the rest of us. Wonder who they were up to look at, probably kamara but he was benched haha.

Coully

1.) 09 Nov 2020 14:46:02
Coully maybe he was up to have a look at the player Celtic have on loan from Southampton then took in the Rangers game afterwards . I know which game he would have preferred.

2.) 09 Nov 2020 16:16:00
Perhaps barasic Goodson tav jack kamara Alfie Kent any scouts from England will be looking at one of those obv they didn’t all play.

3.) 09 Nov 2020 16:17:31
The fact they have lost there main man in Danny Ings it may well be they’re looking at Alfie. And with the Ross Wilson connection to them it could a friendly negotiation.

4.) 09 Nov 2020 16:38:17
Coully Southampton have watched us a few times, I believe it’s barisic they are interested.
Also we have scouoted Sheffield Utd a few times this season.

5.) 09 Nov 2020 17:26:41
The Sheffield one has to be Lundstrum John? I had never heard of him, but spoke to a blades supporter who couldn't believe we were interested in him and said he is far too good for up here and described him as their "talisman"

6.) 09 Nov 2020 18:41:09
BMG I agree it could be lundstrum, I was only told we have been at several off their games.
He is better than any one we have at ibrox, if we want to continue to improve we must sign even better
He would be a free.

7.) 09 Nov 2020 18:50:47
Lundstrum is a scouser grew up idolising Gerrard and so would love to play under him. That’s the pull we have because of Stevie G I believe we will sign him in the summer as we will likely lose kamara.

8.) 09 Nov 2020 19:01:02
He would be a free, and if reports are to he believed, a big Liverpool and Stevie G fan and that is why we are in the running.
I can only go on what the guy told me, but to describe him as their talisman, he must be decent?

9.) 09 Nov 2020 19:02:02
Lundstrum is a decent player but IMHO he wouldn’t walk into our team and would be hard pushed to displace the guys we currently have competing for a starting slot in our tactically rotated midfield.

10.) 09 Nov 2020 19:13:37
I would rather keep Kamara than sign him mate! Glen Kamara is the best midfielder in Scotland right now and will be very hard to replace, However, everybody has a price.

11.) 09 Nov 2020 19:34:25
Lundstram, albeit a good player, has chucked it this season for Sheffield. He's been woeful. don't think he would add anything right now unless we had a sale. I'm happy with zungu.

12.) 09 Nov 2020 20:16:20
Has he chucked it because he knows he's leaving soon?
As brilliant as he was, and as much as I worshipped him, Laudrup basically chuckled it in his final season with us as he knew he was leaving.

13.) 09 Nov 2020 20:57:41
That should be chucked, not chuckled. I'm getting myself to the opticians. 🙈.

14.) 09 Nov 2020 21:35:32
I honestly think Borna is Rangers most valuable player, a fantastic left peg, and very much in demand nowadays for his lethal crossing.

15.) 09 Nov 2020 23:38:00
He has to be worth £20m Tom. Guys a glass act. Looks better than tierney less injury prone.

16.) 10 Nov 2020 09:36:33
If it's Barasic they are after, we should be asking for top dollar. The only left back I would rate higher than him in Britain is Andy Robertson. I don't want to sell him, but I think it's inevitable at that's why we have brought Bassey in.

17.) 10 Nov 2020 10:34:08
I think 12-15m would be our barisic price, simply due to his age.

18.) 10 Nov 2020 12:39:06
BMGH01 re Lundstrum. Maybe also the chance to playing in Europe could also be a factor mate. Only time will tell.
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚽️🇬🇧👍.

19.) 10 Nov 2020 13:01:53
To play in Europe 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚽️🇬🇧👍.

20.) 11 Nov 2020 05:08:41
Don’t think lundstrum would walk into our team a lot of epl players are overrated look at Duffy.

21.) 11 Nov 2020 08:35:25
RFC I get your point, apparently we r really doing our homework on him.
Davies and arfield not long to go, we could sell kamara or airborne so need to be looking all the time.
It is my belief this is the standard we have progressed and should always be trying to improve the menu.

22.) 11 Nov 2020 09:41:35
John, you're absolutely correct, it's about improving the squad all the time. Having a settled 11 is a big plus, but we must never rest on our laurels and continuous improvement is paramount.
If we signed Lundstrum we get him on a free, but have we any idea how much he would cost If there was a transfer fee involved? If there is an opportunity to sign a multi million pound player for free we should be grabbing it If he is going to bring something to the team.
Cunny, hopefully it will be the champs league mate.

23.) 11 Nov 2020 12:52:16
BMG if not a free he appears to be valued around 7 million, this is what palace were allegedly quoted in august.

24.) 11 Nov 2020 23:50:07
His contract runs out in the summer so could get him on pre contract for nothing.

29 Jun 2020 18:32:38
Andreas Skov Olsen linked, Right winger/ fwd at Bologna, danish I think, source was a twitter post in another language, just googled the name, YouTube says he's Messi as per. still Looked though, good finisher.

Coully

1.) 29 Jun 2020 20:05:28
Bologna paid £5.4m for him just a year ago. Can't see us paying even half of that for a 20 year old.

2.) 29 Jun 2020 20:15:32
Watch a lot of the italian football, watched him before he went there too. Boy has some serious talent.

3.) 29 Jun 2020 22:39:00
When did Genk sign Kent and for how much and how old was he? Point being some players just don't fit into some clubs plans for whatever reason so silly to use the above as a reason he won't be signing he dives.

4.) 29 Jun 2020 23:07:27
Ger88, was thinking more about us splashing out that kind of money for a 20year old who we don't know if he would cut it or not.
Would be more likely if he was brought in on a loan first with option to buy, like Hagi was and like what we done with taking Kent on loan, then buying him once we seen what he could do! The boy does look impressive though.

5.) 30 Jun 2020 00:43:57
Obviously I meant Hagi as well lol. I totally agree the deals with Kent and Hagi were good business in the respect of getting to see how they handle playing for us first. But I think we're crying out for a right winger to complete our attacking 4. Exciting times anyway mate being linked with a lot of players so let's see what happens.

6.) 30 Jun 2020 09:28:29
It’s maybe not the perfect model but one that may work. some of the young players go for serious cash due to being a talent in their home land, there will be times like Hagi where it simply doesn’t work, too young possibly, systems don’t suit, wrong type of manager etc etc this could be a way of us picking up TIL young talent at knock down prices and our Academy and coaching team can hopefully get the best out these lads and eventually turn us a profit?

7.) 30 Jun 2020 13:08:12
100% agree Ger88. Don't think i can handle another season with a #10 being played on the wing, especially if we want the most out of Hagi he must be played behind the striker.

Although I was checking on twitter about Skov Olsen and it looks like it was 2 Rangers fans talking about how we should try and sign him, then a spanish account jumped on and started reporting we were looking to sign him.

8.) 30 Jun 2020 13:32:45
Personally, and I hope I am proved wrong, but I don’t think either hagi nor Kent justified the amount of cash spent, I honestly believe I could have found 2 players for that spent who are proven and needed,

9.) 01 Jul 2020 15:11:00
Kent needs played on the right wing where he can actually take a man on and cross the ball and Hagi needs played at the 10 where he can hurt people. Try telling our manager that though.

05 Aug 2020 13:29:11
Right guys. new signings in and most of us delighted, maybe another couple still to come in as window goes on.

So to that end which players Ibrox time has come to an end this summer to make squad space and free funds whether it be loans or perm moves.

I think a lot are available and even the ones we all have soft spots for that some feel have never had a fair crack.

Coully

1.) 05 Aug 2020 13:54:54
Morelos, Jones, Stewart, docherty, mccrorrie and Murphy.

2.) 05 Aug 2020 13:59:53
Morelos 35k a week
Jones 12k a week
Murphy 9k
G. Stewart 7k
G. Docherty 5k
G. middleton 3k
J Hastie 3k
I'm sure we'd do ok without them. Their wages are also probably more. Rossiter was on 10 k a week. The players coming in are a great improvement than the ones we can afford to lose.

3.) 05 Aug 2020 14:00:55
Would say Gerard may be looking to get rid of Murphy, JJ, McCrorie, Stewart and obviously Morelos if bid comes in.

4.) 05 Aug 2020 14:05:23
Does barker escape availability? Technically he has not done anything yet although looked a little better when had minutes in friendlies.

5.) 05 Aug 2020 14:11:45
Coully no i would be punting him b4 murphy anyway.

6.) 05 Aug 2020 14:15:09
Rossco, agree there are a lot of wages that could be freed up. I think Murphy is a much higher earner than 9k though, he can from the prem and was a sort of marquee signing back then. I hope I’m wrong though but I think he would be on more.

7.) 05 Aug 2020 14:23:20
He doesn't in my opinion but Gerrard prefers him.

8.) 05 Aug 2020 14:29:11
Like everyone else my options would be get rid off jones murphy Barker Stewart etc but all can play same positions so can see 2 going possibly on loans or sales and 2 staying for cover but upgrades needed on whoever stays as all 4 not rangers class.

9.) 05 Aug 2020 14:41:08
To go, mccrorie loan or sale with a buy back option
Docherty Murphy Jones Firth Stewart Middleton hastie all out.

Alf go move on. Also Barker simply not got it. One run against nice.
Kennedy, dire Mebude small money but still money.

Also watch re Barisic.

10.) 05 Aug 2020 14:41:54
True blue it may be a factor that if we get rid of the majority we might still see Skov Olsen or similar arrive before end of the window although I do think Roofe is maybe instead of him for now.

11.) 05 Aug 2020 14:49:09
Roofe is a center forward (no9) that is what Gerrard has said.

12.) 05 Aug 2020 14:58:36
Hard to make a case for any of the names mentioned. Each year we get stronger and stronger. Here’s hoping this is our time 👏🏻.

13.) 05 Aug 2020 15:04:39
Why did we actually buy Hastie? He’s had no chance whatsoever.

14.) 05 Aug 2020 15:15:29
Alloa he was a free. Small development fee.

15.) 05 Aug 2020 15:23:17
Good question AlloaGer

Always wondered that myself.

16.) 05 Aug 2020 15:33:50
Jenkins the gaffer has just stated in pre match press conference that both the new signings can play in our current system at the same time. Which means Roofe would go in the right 10 role. I have no doubt he will play the 9 but he won’t always especially if Itten hits the ground running.

17.) 05 Aug 2020 16:00:11
I agree coully 👍The more natural no.9 centre forward between our 2 new signings is indeed itten. Roofe isn't an out and out goalscorer and can play anywhere along the forward line.

18.) 05 Aug 2020 16:17:02
Coully I hope the team are more consistent than the manager lol I hadn't seen the interview today before my post, he said yesterday roofe was a center forward.

19.) 05 Aug 2020 16:30:20
He is mate just a very versatile CF he was always an AM or wise man until bielsa.

20.) 05 Aug 2020 16:44:13
Versatility is a good thing tho and bielsa is a genius apparently.

21.) 05 Aug 2020 17:50:04
John25, did we not pay £200k for Hastie?

22.) 05 Aug 2020 18:15:30
Roofe drifts about he is not an out and out number 9 but
He can play anywhere across the front 3.

23.) 05 Aug 2020 18:18:18
Yes as a development fee I think. If he does not come good hopefully we get money back. This guy could not get a game at Rotherham.

01 Mar 2020 14:10:58
I am all for people having an opinion on whether or not they want rid of Gerrard but please don't come back and say names to replace him that will clearly only want to play that exact system that Gerrard is using. These guys like de Boer etc believe in the system so much they will die by it, it does not work over the course of a season here, perfect for Europe and Celtic but not for the rest. We would need an adaptive manager who would change system dependant on the opposition. I personally hope that's sunk in and Gerrard kicks on with it. If he does not change it against Hamilton at Ibrox he never will and it will be the beginning of the end for him. I hope he changed and he kicks on from now.

Coully

1.) 01 Mar 2020 15:35:01
He spoke about 24 to 48 hours to think. Well if he's still here for Hamilton on Wednesday there had better be big changes in set up/ tactics or he will know all about it. If it is obvious to every man and his dog that this slow side to side possession style doesn't work in the spl, then why can't the backroom staff see it. Just watched some german footy today and the variety in corners was a revelation compared to what we see every game.

2.) 01 Mar 2020 16:17:36
It’s obvious to every man and his dog mate but half the folk on here that want him gone are saying to replace him with guys like de Boer etc who are even more rigid in the system they believe in, it’s madness to swap like for like.

3.) 01 Mar 2020 19:11:13
Correct Coully! De Boer, Gio would all stick to their system they have been brought up with since they were kids!
And if anyone thinks they would prefer a Docherty over an Aribo you are having a laugh!

We are definitely going to need to sell a player or a couple of players at end of the season, kamara may be the guy as he’s getting a lot of attention and will get more if he continues how he is going, Davis is in his final season possibly and arfield will be 33 next year. Zungu may or may not sign permanent so the Ferguson deal is a real possibility. you also have to take into account the homegrown quotas for Europe etc which all add up to it being a no brainer bringing him in at 2m. He is a good player and may be a lot better in a high possession side.

Teams like Preston and Amiens whom have zungu and Johnson are going to lose these players for nothing in a couple of months on pre contracts. I believe we have offered them fair deals and have left them stewing because if they don’t sell by Monday those guys are leaving for free whether it’s to us or not. We may well have moved on to besic, Campbell etc.

Ferguson is scoring goals every week for the sheep, even if some are pens. I don’t think he is good enough never mind Campbell to get in our 11. We need people to push for starting 11 not guys lucky if they get in the squad.

Celtic have thought they had enough for years and they to a point have but now they are finding out that a lack of quality ongoing recruitment has seen any quality gap between us and them obliterated when we should not have been able to get anywhere near them in such a short period of time, recruitment can never stop.

I sort of agree and have said the fans issue before is helping us, I do however think once these players get that winners mentality and belief it will stay regardless. First trophy is critical for them, that league cup final hit guys hard. Once we jump that hurdle we will be a lot better off.

Kent involved in a lot of our goals, another assist at the weekend and involvements in other build ups, work rate and movement/ tracking back etc is a nightmare for opposition regardless of him getting the ball and going past players.

Unfortunately Celtic have managed to get the job done most weeks, but if we can keep this lead going until jan 2nd when we get to play them again. massive game, win it and it’s a huge step towards 55.

He was missed when he left for a while that’s for sure, he would not get in the side now, we have adapted our tactics now to get tav forward and have cover for him when out of position. So in a nutshell no because of the depth and performance of our current squad and tactical improvements made.
