Just sharing what i've just been told from a guy i would count as a reliable source. He's just told me that for several months now, our chairman john bennett and ceo james bisgrove have been very actively in negotiations with 4 big companies regarding possible sponsorship of our stadium or stands? He also told me that he's been told pepsi is the biggest name involved and regarded as the frontrunner ? But he did say the sponsorship is more likely to be a stand as opposed to the full stadium but still massive financially for rangers ? John27,
CoplandFront5,beale or any other poster on here, have any of you heard anything at all regarding this very interesting news ?.

This was on a while back although no company names were mentioned. Think the figure quoted was 10 million a year for 10 years.
Money we couldn't turn round.
It doesn't matter what they call the ground as to the fans it will always be ibrox.

Sounds interesting mate, what I think in this thought coops is it would be a strange decision naming a single stand ie the Pepsi broomloan road stand on a 5 year contract as example? Then what happens if say next summer someone wants to name the stadium but can’t due to 1 stand? Also naming a stand wouldn’t get as much exposure as naming a stadium. Who talks about stands? What would company get out of it? A few badges on the inside for tv camera to pick up on? They’d be aswell just paying the fee for the billboards to show their advert.
Na mate for me the stand thing wouldn’t work for the sponsor they wouldn’t get exposure or value for money to me it’s a non starter.

In terms of stadium I’d definitely be up for that it’s a no brained, fans will always call it ibrox and if it brings in money to improve the club as a whole in any way be it redevelopment of stadium or investment in players then for me it should be done.

Whatever the new name is, I'd like Ibrox included in it.

What I have heard Stateside is that Pepsi wants to increase its UK / EU Market share and has been doing a number of deals across the UK and Europe.
Football Clubs have been discussed, I haven't heard Rangers specifically, but in terms of Scotland it would make sense given the size of our support not to mention the Asset Management Groups that have significant stakes in Pepsi.
I don't believe that they would be interested in a single stand, they would be looking at full stadium sponsorship but given that Pepsi Co owns a number of Brands there are clear opportunities for them to be associated with us.

Sir Walter, I wasn't taking the piss just having a joke at the thought of Ibrox being renamed Pepsi Park. Would be quite funny though. Its a revenue source that bisgrove had spoken about previously I'm sure. Hopefully it means some good investment in the club.

Sounds very promising guys.
Do we know if it’s going to be 10m a year for example as I thought at time it was said at 10m over 10 years which I said at time wasn’t enough. Also I wouldn’t go for 10 year deals I’d do 5 years at a time as we could lose out on a lot of money coke 5 years down the line.

Pepsi in to NFL heavily and I think an LA stadium deal so it's not crazy and even the colours work well.

10 million a year? Jesus wept, could but rangers for how much realistically and name it what you want, I'll bet anyone anything they want, we won't get 10 million a year, don't even think we'll get a million for the stadium never mind a stand.

Whatever gets the club most money is ok with me the fans will still call it Ibrox or stand names.

100% not pepsi. Coca cola and Pepsi have tried for years to dislodge Irn Bru as No1 drink in Scotland and failed. Also UK government will not allow as Yanks have banned britush companies doing same in states i. e Irn Bru. I think more likely it will be Roller Cola from Aldis that sponsors Ibrox.

PLands, Coca Cola, followed by Pepsi and then Lucozade are the biggest sales in the UK, Pepsi already sponsors Leicester City and across Europe they sponsor a number of Football Clubs including FC Kola as an example. In UK Sales terms Irn Brew comes third behind Coca-Cola and Pepsi.

If Pepsi Co wants to sponsor rangers or any other British Football team for that matter it is highly unlikely that the UK Government would stop them!
Even regimes that are at odds with the US Government don't stop the sales of Coca-Cola and Pepsi that are the two biggest Cola Brands World Wide.
The Market Cap of Coca-Cola and Pepsi Co is such that if AG Barr wanted to sell their Business that the two majors could buy them from their loose change!
It is only in Scotland that Ian Bro outsells Coca-Cola and Pepsi and AG Barrs other Brands don't come anywhere close!

If Pepsi Co wants to do a deal with rangers in respect of Sponsorship it will happen!
Other names that I have heard include Discovery Limited and Heineken.
One thing is for sure, James Bisgrove has the connections and has an excellent relationship with Emirates among other exceedingly wealthy Institutions.
