How much are people thinking is available to spend this window? I know its just guess work but are we bargain basement shopping or will decent money be made available?

The transfer budget for next season will be decent, the business plan for this season didn’t include a big outlay in Jan, however, player trading could impact that. If say a Kamara goes then we will spend to replace.

Right out of left field here but would anyone take Jackamakus or whatever he's called? Seems he's leaving and their no going to give him the money they promised, looks like an Alfie type player and I bet he's no on anywhere near his money.

they would have him assasinated before letting him come to us, i know coops wanted him here about a year ago .
i'm sstill kinda perplexed that alfs 5 goal "involvements " in 5 games is being held up as some kind of beacon, i would expect every rangers striker to be involved in 5 goals in 5 games, in fact i would expect them to be involved in goals every single week
a strange stat to put up about a guy on his wages playing for the biggest club in the country, he's the cf, he should be involved.
{Ed001's Note - goal involvements means goals and assists. It doesn't mean he was involved in a move other than providing the final ball or shot.}

i know ed what i’m saying is a guy who is the main striker for rangers playing domestic games were about 12 goals have been scored, would be expected to score or assist in at least 30% of those goals, i just don’t see it as a big deal for an old firm strik, 15 or 20 games yes, i m sure there’s others with that kind of stat, alf was close to the worst player on the pitch in most of those games, imo,
{Ed001's Note - 30%? You have ridiculously high expectations when your team's main assists contribution is from crosses from the right wing. That removes a huge chunk of potential involvements as the main scorer from those should be a player coming in from the left side or a late run from midfield. You have to have context when analysing stats or they become useless. Sadly almost no one includes context.}

In answer to original post. I was shouting about Giakomakous being the ideal replacement before he went to the dark side! Yes he would have been ideal.
Never happen now obviously but could have been a good shout a year or 2 ago.

How many silly games has he missed through his own fault? Games that were important in trying to maintain position in the league?
a player who’s head has been turned by other clubs a player we’re told by our own Rangers Manager remember wanted a move
A player how has continuously turned up late on occasions from his home country overweight and not fit enough
Guys we have heard this out our own Managers mouths over the years he’s been here

In my opinion no
and I firmly believe when he moves on we will see he’s not the best player who ever walked through our doors
And he is very replaceable if Ross Wilson pulls his finger out and gets some decent quality in the door
I absolutely guarantee he is replaceable colak already was in a scoring spree outdoing morleos before his injury.
{Ed001's Note - the problem is offloading players like that, but I would certainly not put up with any player returning overweight, no matter who. Once you let one player away with it, standards begin to slip as others will see it. I certainly would not consider extending his contract.}

If Morelos kept his head down and worked hard he probably would already have had the move he desired it’s his own fault in my opinion that it hasn’t happened for him he’s had more than his fare share of opportunities from rangers to show he can buckle down and work hard.
For me he’s more of a Hindrance to the club now than an asset and I’ve said it few times now for me his time should be up and we can all move on.
{Ed001's Note - that was the key to Fergie's longevity, he never let a player like that stay long. He maintained the standards at all times, even if it meant using a player who wasn't as good ability-wise.}

How many managers have continued to pick him as the number 1 striker?
When he missed games through injury / suspension, what other striker at the club filled his role as goal scorer / provider?
Loads of players crave moves if they are good enough. We all think Rangers are huge - unfortunately the SPFL is not the pinnacle of a players career. It's a stepping stone.
The club have offered him a new deal so they must still want him.
The club themselves said he was more valuable to the team than accepting the £16 million offer from Lille.
And that's the problem. There is a fine line between cashing in and keeping a player to long.
Personally you know I love Morelos, Stig.
But I've also been of the opinion that our over reliance on him has been to the detriment of the team.

In 5 years morelos has yet to reach 20 goals in the league for a striker at Rangers that's woeful but his contempt shown by his continual returning late from breaks his unprofessional attitude as shown by his weight all add up to a striker who needs shown the door I'm sure his reported 32k a week wage could be better used.

In 5 years at Rangers ( first time around ) , Boyd only managed 1 season to hit more than 20 goals without the aid of penalties.
All other seasons ( without penalties ) he would have been 15, 14, 10 and 17.
Is that woeful for a Rangers striker in Boyd who we all rated?

we really lack a midfielder pitching in 15+ goals per season again ross wislon where are you on this front.

I think Lawrence is meant to be that player to be fair.
Regarding the first post, would definitely be an upgrade in what we have atm, but there’s no way that move would ever be possible. Even if we had the highest bid they would knock it back, it would need to be a Bosman where the parent club gets no say on the transfer. Would be class though!

Deemed good enough for the contracts when we offered them, what we've been doing last few years is buying cheap or free on big wages, can't complain when they don't want to leave.
