Chat at Fir Park today suggests a deal for Shankland has been agreed. From a source inside the club. There's going to be loads of soeculuand guesswork but would be happy at this.

I remember watching the hearts games at the beginning of the season to see lowry amd saying he would never cut it at rangers and John agreed saying that Lowry would end up in the Scottish championship.

It's simple really, Clement will see what Lowry's like both on the pitch and off and he'll either kick on or be moved on.

As for Shankland, we need to stump up and pay for him as we'll regret it if we don't. He can give us 20 plus goals for the next 3 years at least.

Putting any alleged attitude problems aside for the moment.
Alex has to find his way on the park first, where it counts.
On the evidence of what we've seen from his time at Hearts he will need to improve many area's of his game if he's to wear the Royal Blue on a regular basis.
As stated previously
I for one wish him well, same with any young Scottish players in particular trying to make their way in the game.
It's not always best policy to judge novice players as it can take a wee while for the penny to drop with some of them.
Hope young Zac Lovelace can put his injuries behind him and get a run of games under his belt in the first team.

Many a young player like Lowry have egos and attitude (past and present) - if that is 100% correct then I would like to see him back under PC and see how he deals with situation- its such a talent to go to waste or to fritter away his football future in lower leagues.

I've heard all the rumours about his attitude think I posted a long time ago and got shot for it. The one thing I'd add to John's post is not one of us wants this boy to fail were desperate for more of our own to break through and take us to the next level.

I've had the good fortune to do coaching sessions with a lot of the younger Scottish age groups.

My take away from spending a few hours with Lowry and from conversations with coaches who have worked with him is his confidence didn't match his ability, and on the opposite side of that equation was Devine - who had an unbelievable amount of talent but just didn't believe in himself.

Barron on the other hand was an absolute dream to work with - kid gave everything and you could see that any other players involved in his drills also raised there levels to match him.

I totally agree John. Any time I've seen him he's always seemed off and lacking that youthful drive of someone from the academy getting their chance. I remember steven hughes against Maribor he wanted it. Guys like barry Nicholson, David graham, jamie ness, gary mcsweegan all tried their hearts out even though they weren't at the required level. Lowry must think he's there. I had the pleasure of seeing derek Ferguson and durrant come through and barry Ferguson later, all far more talented than Lowry yet wanted more than anything. Lowry seems like he won't be playing football in a few years. The first time i seen lowry play was 5 years ago at the oriam. My boy was playing for hearts against him. Lowry is older than my boy but the SFA had arranged games based on a maturity index rather than age. Lowry looked the part playing and seemed the centre of attention in their group. Hearts won 7-2 and in my boys hearts team that day was Aaron hickey, things have worked out a bit differently for him.

Livi my concern re all young players is it’s very easy to develop bad habits, I know of an academy who had three players fail a drugs test recently in the uk.

Livi bear we ruined Hughes by getting him to bulk up this obsession with muscle mass just look back at guys like sounds who were lean. Still think Kent ruined himself with too much upper body stuff.

Lol funny people all say about seeing him truth is he hasn’t had many top team opportunities. They don’t just turn up and be brilliant right away some players take more time.
