On the Tav debate.

I see it posted by some that every manager we've had since Tav became captain have kept him as captain, and have always waxed lyrical about his leadership qualities. It's also pointed out by these same posters that all the managers can't be wrong about Tav.

OK, so, if my calculations are correct, that would be 6 managers and 2 caretaker ones. How many titles has Tav captained for these managers who wax lyrical of him? How many trophies?

So out of the 6 full time managers Tav has seved as captain, he's managed only one title, that's it. And for that same manager, who Tav was the captain for over 3 seasons, he managed the grand total of one trophy. Following that, there's on SC for Gio, and one LC for PC.

Aye, all they managers can't be wrong, can they?

I know he has been captain but don't think it's all his fault we have won so little.

Every game nowadays is about 14 or 15 players. During his time here in terms of contribution Tav has been a good player. To blame him for everything is too easy an answer. Many players over that period have contributed very little in comparison.

I don't care is he goes in the summer as he has lost the legs to get up and down the park the way he used too. Even if he stays I would be looking at Dujon to be our first pick RB next season anyway.

Goldson and Lundstram are much bigger priorities to get shot of for me. Goldson has been poor the last 2 years and has been getting worse as the games go by. Lunny just cannot be trusted because he is either great or a liability which is no good at a club like Rangers.

With them 2 gone along with BB, Jack, Roofe, Wright, Haji and Lammers leaves enough squad space for PC and NK to refresh the squad.

I think every manager that has took over has taken on a huge rebuild at the time.
And probably with the lack of finances available didn't see it as a 'problem position'.
Throw in most would like a bit of stability within the squad, keeping the captain and vice captain is probably an easy option.
But this has ultimately cost them all their jobs. As it's the same players from one season to the next underperforming.
The big question is does Clement tackle this head on next season?
Probably again depends on money available.
That's why for me winning the title and CL money was crucial.

Whole team needs ripped apart and rebuilt. That costs money though. Obviously new players will come in summer and some will go. Doubt it will be a total rebuild though. We will probably be seeing more of the same for the next few years to come. just have to get used to it and get on with it.

Nobody is saying it’s all his own fault, but that is the usual comeback when his leadership is questioned.

What I'm stating is that his leadership has failed, and until we drop him as captain, we won't know if new leadership will sort this ongoing, longterm issue we have of falling apart season after season. We will only know this once he's been binned, but until then, it's continue on with failure after failure. That can't continue!

To all the Tav backers here, would it not be better to try somebody new to see if it works, than continue on with someone who history, stats, and failure after failure proves is not up to it? C'mon, surely to God you must see we need change?

No matter the debate, PC is not going to drop Tav or Goldston at this stage of season, but the worry is going forward, as we are all aware they are not good enough and will only be worse next season, so big desicion has to be made if no ocomes in for them, they have to be made aware they will not be starters, so are free to find new clubs.

we need a rangers fan as captain, or a guy like but her who becomes one of us, tav is never ever a captain for me.
