Our top scorer in the league is tav on 15 then Colan on 13 but that's still behind kyogo van veen shankland and Lopez that's something we must rectify if we've any chance of regaining the league.

shankland, for me, is a no brainer, will score anywhere he goes, one of those young scottish strikers we should have been chasing long ago, imo, we have a long history of his type at rangers, I've heard a few people tell me they prefer nisbit, but can't say why, could it be we have an inbuilt instant dislike of home grown rangers fans, certainly seems it on here, we have legends treated like criminals on here, , boyd, fergie, even coisty has been torn apart here, , i hope we go for shanks, i like rangers fans in my club.

Shankland - 10 penalties takes his total from open play to 11. Less than both Morelos and Colak.
Van Veen - 5 penalties takes his total from open play to 14. 1 more than Colak, 3 more than Morelos.
Duk - 1 penalty takes his total to 15 from open play. 2 more than Colak, 4 more than Morelos.
Only Kyogo has scored all his goals from open play which is a very good return.
Morelos and Colak have also played less minutes than the rest.

And then take other parameters into account:-
Teams sit in against Rangers
Colak doesn’t suit Beale’s style of play

MPH, we've got the best striker in scottish football for me but he's constantly injured, kemar roofe ?If only he could get his injury problems ironed out ?After his surgery on his back there lately, roofe himself that was the root of his injury problems so here's hoping ? because for me he's easily the most talented striker in scottish football bar none ?.

Sws you must be kidding yourself if you think Roofe can stay fit he couldn't manage it the rest of his career pulling it off at 30 would probably be up there, seen players do many strange things but i can't mind of every seeing that.

You can paint it anyway you want Spud but Morelos has been here for 6 seasons and not hit 20 SPFL goals in one of them. Also Rangers dominate most games leading to the striker getting more goal opportunities than players who play for Motherwell etc. There's also the need to add he's on close to 30k a week probably 6 or 7 times more than any of the 3 above so value for money goes to the other 3 guys.

you couldn't possibly compare any old firm striker to anyone who plays with all the other clubs, just isn't possible, , they have many more more chances created by very highly paid players, often playing the entire games in they're opponents half, so using stats simply gives a rather obvious false reading.

A goals a goal, penalties or not shankland scores loads a penalties great, they bloody win games, he's a born goalscorer n we could have had him for next too nothing

Roofe isn’t the best striker in Scotland never has never will be because you can’t play injured he is the most injured player in Scotland.
Shankland is not good enough to play for us and never will be if that’s who we are looking at we are fecked.

No-one has a dislike of homegrown Rangers supporters but they have to be good enough, not just favoured because they are Rangers fans. Shankland has had a very up and down career, couldn't make it at Aberdeen, scored a few for Ayr and Dundee Utd in lower league but couldn't score for Utd in the top division or in Belgium .
Now he is scoring for Hearts but does that one season make him worth the money Hearts would want? My problem with Ferguson, Boyd and McCoist is their hypocrisy, they criticise players and managers for things they did themselves. For example how can Boyd criticise Morelos for being overweight and lacking fitness? Pot and kettle .

Tom, I'm beginning to come round to your way of thinking. Even just 18 months ago I would have said Shankland was a fair bit off being good enough for us, but since then I have watched him closely in a few games, including today. I think he is now maturing into a really good striker and it could be the time for us to make a move for him.
Whoever leaves, Colak, Morelos, Roofe or maybe all three, there's an obvious vacancy in our attacking department for one or more strikers and Shankland, a Rangers fan, a Scotland international and now a proven scorer at a decent level, could be one of the answers. Roofe is a permanent crock, Colak doesn't really fit and Morelos will probably be gone. Shankland and McBurnie? Stranger things have happened.

Tom shankland as much as you would like him he won't be signed mate, Beale has already said this he said he would not be interested in signing any cf from our league, i would prefer Mcburnie to him.

Shankland didn’t do great for Utd in spfl either or Belgium.
When these strikers play against other teams they get more space than they would get playing for rangers. To win leagues and make our squad better we need better than him.
Blue dreamer the point about pens is he won’t get to take them here because of Tav so it does matter.
Coops Tav is a crap defender but good going forward.

correct tav, he's only a suggestion, but fits the bill in somany ways, and imo, is guaranteed to score more goals than any of our currents strikers, he has developed and matured
