Seen a few posts now re this and wondered what other foljs views are because i see alit of good fair comments on here . . . Why i like the site when discussions are had.

Few posts saying Tav won't win us anything Dessers won't win us anything . . . My view is its not individual players that will win anything for us it will be the team as a whole. Not keen on individual players being blamed for a lack of success if we don't win its the team and if we do its the team. Excited for the next month to see what RM can do with current squad and few new bodies i'm hoping he surprises a lot of us.

I agree, it's a team sport.

But you typically find successful teams have a great captain's and figurehead at the top of the pitch.

So when you're not successful, those are typically the areas that get the blame.

2.) 21 Jun 2025 11:19:31
Tavernier as being captain of an unsuccessful team takes the most hits, Tavernier played for Celtic he'd be trophy stacked like they players and would get nothing but praise from they Celtic fans, he's still be a Rangers player next season but don't think he's a starter now unless he gets used in a back three on occasion.

As folk may know i'm a big fan of dessers but i understand the sense in selling whilst price is good. What do folk think about maybe keeping him for now getting one of the younger lads in that were rumoured to be keen in and possibly sell Dessers in Jan? That way we still have him knowing what he can do and would give any new young strikers a bit of time to settle in. Just a thought.

Any player over the age of 30 should be moved on if an acceptable bid comes in
This will probably be the last opportunity to get a fee to reinvest so take it.

2.) 12 Jun 2025 11:26:16
Like your thinking but it's no from me.

3.) 12 Jun 2025 11:29:42
Forget selling Dessers, it's Danilo that needs shown the door.

4.) 12 Jun 2025 11:37:25
There is a case in point for that, could be a risk as you're not guaranteed interest

I think being stung in the past with reported fees for players and not selling them losing them for a reduced fee or a free has left us in the rubbish tbh

It was mentioned about cashing in on Hamza to help improve funds where do you stand on that? He's raw, there is talent their and he gets you off your seat but will he bag you 20+ goals (I think a good season his value increase, but that's if he does)

5.) 12 Jun 2025 12:07:35
January is a difficult window to get value, teams don't pay the money his price would go down we need to punt him now to get maximum value and use the money to get a younger striker in, for too long we have held on to players.

6.) 12 Jun 2025 12:39:02
We may not get an offer in January so if we get an offer that is more than we paid for a guy who is 30 we have to sell . Dessers has turned my opinion a bit, because you can't argue with his goals record, however he still misses big chances and his over all game is not great. I think I would rather sell Danilo if it was possible but we'll see how he gets on with a pre season behind him and hopefully no more injuries.

7.) 12 Jun 2025 17:04:41
I agree Mark.

Anyone else feeling very nervous about tonight ?.

Mass79

1.) 13 Mar 2025 08:37:41
Absolutely and can't wait for it, pure buzzing.

2.) 13 Mar 2025 08:44:07
Feeling very confident. I'll be gutted if we don't go through.

3.) 13 Mar 2025 08:44:59
Aye, I always liked Jose and he'll probably get the sack after we pump them again tonight. ?.

4.) 13 Mar 2025 08:54:59
Expect a very defensive game from both teams. Especially first half. Jose will sit in so not to lose a goal and try catch us on counter and we will do the same.
If they get one we get nervous and maybe push for a goal and they'll try get us again.
Be like a game of defensive chess tonight and Jose is the master of it.

On a brighter note if he gets sacked after going out to us he could be an option for us in the summer. And I think he would be interested tbh.

5.) 13 Mar 2025 09:30:44
Mass agreed - Fener are no mugs and hopefully we don't lose an early one - as said previously I can see us needing to score 2 to go through- c'mon the Bears???.

6.) 13 Mar 2025 09:41:23
I would take a goalless draw at this stage, progress is all that matters.

7.) 13 Mar 2025 10:18:01
Asathor that's all the matters mate, long as we're in the quarters.

8.) 13 Mar 2025 11:02:09
Stevie I hope they do that as it's a win for us but they will have to attack from the start.

9.) 13 Mar 2025 12:39:10
Think will be last week's team with Sterling and Balogun in for Yilmaz and Popper.

10.) 13 Mar 2025 12:48:15
Correct storm, there's not a chance they will play counter attacking football, the turks would go mad if they went out that way. They will come right at us from the start.

11.) 13 Mar 2025 12:48:28
They need to score - which should leave space for us to exploit as we did in the first leg.
All aboard the Nigerian Goal Scoring Prince train!

12.) 13 Mar 2025 13:03:13
Can't see Fera sitting in Stevie, would love if they did as we can run the clock down, Jose might go man for man thinking he has the better players to do so.

13.) 13 Mar 2025 13:15:05
Any result that puts us through will do. Everybody has to be on it 100% and the crowd needs to play 12th man big time tonight. Let's roar the guys to a famous victory!

14.) 13 Mar 2025 13:15:36
Big Cyriel to be the man!

15.) 13 Mar 2025 13:38:38
Seeker bet tonight, Rangers win, both teams scoring, Dessers 2 or more 25/ 1.

16.) 13 Mar 2025 13:48:59
I hope that you have more luck with your football bets Star than i'm having with the horses. I'm taking a doing and thankfully i don't bet very often as i'm not very good at it.

17.) 13 Mar 2025 14:05:01
I don't see them coming out of the traps and going on the attack. That's not their style and most certainly not Jose's style. I can see them holding firm for at least the first half and look to hit us on the break.

In response to the opening question though, I am buzzing for the game tonight. Not necessarily the right game to be saying this, but got the battle fever coursing through me.

18.) 13 Mar 2025 14:18:16
Good luck my star. Looks a good bet ?.

19.) 13 Mar 2025 14:33:19
Nothing for a couple of weeks three cheers but done very well this season, hopefully you get a lift today mate.

20.) 13 Mar 2025 15:41:20
I find it hard to see us not scoring at some point, which means that they need 3 to take it to extra time, I fancy us to get a goal in each half, maybe 2-2 draw.

27 Feb 2025 08:22:22
Have to say after 14 mins last night i was fearing the worst however was a fantastic comeback not getting carried away still a lot of work/ improvement ahead but certainly a good start for Baz and the team. Still a bit confused why Nsiala was taken off when Propper was having a nightmare in that first 30 mins but overall good start to build on well done lads.

Mass79

1.) 27 Feb 2025 08:57:33
Mass, i think the reason he took nsiala off as opposed to propper was to take the young defender out of the firing line as remember he was at fault for both st. mirren goals last saturday ? However i agree baz could also have taken propper off as he also had a shocker ? He's supposed to be the experienced one guiding young nsiala through it ?.

2.) 27 Feb 2025 09:14:58
We couldn't take both off, who would have played. Nsiala confidence was getting battered, so whilst taking him off would have hurt him, leaving him on could have hurt him more.

3.) 27 Feb 2025 09:15:30
Its one of many areas on pitch that need addressed but a good CH pairing need to be solid and physical and domineering and unfortunately we don't have that at moment - maybe if Balogun was 10 years younger?.

4.) 27 Feb 2025 09:28:27
At that stage he could have removed propper jefte Nsiala diomande and Raskin who was terrible at second goal.

5.) 27 Feb 2025 09:30:56
Think it was a good decision to take off Nsiala was having a hard time of it simaler too Saturday not suited up against hulk centres don't want him to suffer like Leon King so take him off the firing line for a few weeks.

6.) 27 Feb 2025 09:37:15
Well we were 2-0 down and won 4-2 after he took him off? So why are you confused?

7.) 27 Feb 2025 09:58:00
All good points guys i do think Nsiala can develop ibto a very good CB but not if he's taken off 30 mins in and esp when Propper was having a nightmare lads cobfidence will take a dent from that but our of what we have Souttar and Nsiala is best pairing for me until we get some new bodies in there.

8.) 27 Feb 2025 10:04:41
Nsiala was worse than Propper imo although neither were great and we needed experience against Killie. it worked which should tell you all you need to know. Propper went back to his natural side and settled. Nsiala's headers were going about 3 feet and didn't clear the lines. he is young and with coaching will improve.

9.) 27 Feb 2025 10:57:24
Thought Propper actually played well when Tav moved inside. The young lad will learn. He looks too good a player not to progress.

10.) 27 Feb 2025 11:15:51
I always knew Nsiala will have games like this, it's all about learning but still believe he'll have a top career, remember he's only played around half a dozens games.

11.) 27 Feb 2025 13:06:48
Once nsiala went off the whole defence was much better, actually thought Tav played very well at centre half where we don't rely on speed as much. On the second goal, thought when nsiala headed it, Raskin should have booted it out rather than try a wee touch, that said woeful challenge by nsiala after that but what a finish?

26 Feb 2025 07:11:38
Looking forward to tonight I know Baz and the group haven't had much time with the squad but if the players genuinely thought Clement was the issue then i'm expecting them to prove that tonight. Not sure about sticking with Tav as captain but happy to see how Baz handles it given he knows more than most what is expected. Hoping to see some fight, some hunger and a much improved team performance. All i'm seeing is folk (mainly the tims but even some of us) laughing and mocking the choices made so i'm seriously hoping Baz can shut them all up and make every one of them choke on their words.

1.) 26 Feb 2025 07:42:18
Problem is, will it be a manager bounce, or the players realising we're being assessed, better get the finger out here?.

2.) 26 Feb 2025 08:30:17
Yup couldn't judge it on the one game but either way if it gets the squad fired up then we just have to keep that going. If and i know its a big if, we go on a good run then it would be a good argument to keep sum of them on as staff in some way. Would be nice to have that Rangers blood running through the staff to pass onto the players ?‍♂️.

To be honest not surprised at this. We were advised shopping in England wasn't wise we have fallen victim to it before yes we've had a couple of gems but i'd rather different markets even very young lads down there will be on a pretty high wage. I agree with the ambition comments might be me personally but if i was paid even low thousands a week to play football i'd most certainly take it don't know why young lads think they need huge wages to survive most of us can manage and get by on normal job wages. That is why i love seeing youngsters joing for football reasons rather than financial ones and why i respect older players who take wage drops to play elsewhere even if those drops are still a decent amount. Just shows the mentality of football and more likely agents these days.

Laudrup i can kind of see what you are saying here but i wudnt agree with that. There are good players or players with potebtial from plenty of other clubs who are not winning trophies, not trouncing their league not even in Europe that can sell players for massive profit and command big big fees.

Neilgd i might be wrong but pretty sure he was played out if position a lot last season then bk up front towards the end where his game improved again. i'd be happy like some say wudnt be a bad squad player to have at least.

Id be happy with this reckon he would do well with us, free wages won't be too bad, knows league so wudnt need time to settle, international player, home quota and a gers man to boot. Obv limited sell on but if he does well why would we need to sell him could finish career with us.

EHL that's a team and half a bench youve listed there lol would be happy with most going tho like to see Souttar and Igamane stay and i'd rather not lose both Dio and Raskin but understand if good offers come in we could seriously invest in those areas and other areas of the squad just nice to know there's a lot going on for a change.

Yeah sone of the names concern me even a fair few Championship players would be outwith our alleged new wage structure i just don't want us to make same mistakes we have made before. Some of the rumours seem exciting tho Turgeman, Frigan couple others still bit gutted we didn't get Camara across the line thought he would have been a very good addition but will just have to wait for the scarf shots to see who we do get and who doesn't come. Expecting a busy week before pre-season starts.

Personally i think 5 at the back in Scotland isn't very attack minded neither is playing 1 up front. Maybe a good old 4 4 2 is needed ?.

Thinks his favoured formations are 433 or a 352

Personally i'd like us to play up front so 352 might work depending who we have on the wings.

Ive wanted us to play 2 up front for couple of seasons think with right team behind them it could work well for us.

I agree would definitely take Shankland on a free he would fit into wages knows league wudnt need time to settle would be a very good addition to the team esp if were thinking of selling Dessers who i would also love to keep but can see why he might go. Depends if martin is going to play 2 up front or solo ST with 2 wingers.
