Agree that Rohl comes across very well, looks like he's genuinely happy to be here also so that's a good start! Patrick Stewart on the other hand just looked like an angry wee man! His demeanor and tone of voice was very nonchalant and dismissive at times.

Thelwell though I thought came across quite well (surprisingly! ) he actually looked a wee bit embarrassed, a wee bit apologetic maybe. Could even say he showed a bit of empathy! Stewart though showed nothing but a total lack of.

Seemed to be two different pressers from what I have seen, the one with the TV and radio and one with the written press and Rangers Fan media. The second one was definitely more informative because the questioning was better, Cavenagh took the lead and was excellent in his answers, seemed quite clued up on what the problems are on field, Thelwell had a few questions to answer and I think Stewart only got involved when they were asked about Martin not going earlier.


We've got what we've got now and as Cavenagh said that he was involved in the hiring process and knew about Thelwell's son well in advance. There does not seem to be any reason why he will be sacked. We have to draw a line now and move forward and hope they all have learned from the false start under the new owners.

I watched the press conference and Rohl was the only one smiling i think he genuinely is really happy to be here, you could see it on his face. I for one am 100% behind him as the Wednesday's fans loved him and didn't want him to leave. Can only wait and see what happens!

I am not saying that Stewart is any good but the CEO of a football club doesn't have to be a " football man", although Stewarts background at Man Utd should have helped him. The CEO is there to run the business side of the club and appoint the right people to to run specific areas ie.

Sporting Director to run the football side. He is the guy who needs to be a football man as he has direct input into football appointments and player signings.
Dumping Thelwell and replacing him with Weir seems a good way forward if Weir would come.

Think we just need to get behind Rohl and fully support him! Thought his first interview was excellent! He never shied away from the fact that we need to start winning and we need to do it NOW! Not once did he mention he'll need time to get us there! Unlike Martin who from day one emphasised ' it's going to take time' 'we need time to gel' 'mentality is a problem' excuse after excuse from day one! He knows he doesn't have time and was still willing to take the job on.

People are always going to look at where Wednesday finished in his first full season in charge and say 'that's not good enough! ' but what you have to realise is they (Wednesday) got rid of something like 15 players and gave Rohl 4.7mil to bring in 18! 14 of whom were freebies and loans! All while the likes of Burnley were spending 50 mil, Hull spending 30mil, the list goes on.

While I agree with "Project Manager" and "Yes Man", both are silly, I don't think it's unfair (like the others) to say he wasn't the majority of Rangers fans first choice. That's just a factual statement (certainly based on the sentiment on here anyway) rather than a disparaging one like the other two.

It is hard to judge him on his Sheffield Wednesday performance as he was managing a team who had not been paid in Months and were scared of losing their Jobs. I for one have only heard good things about him and he worked under Thomas Tuchel for a bit.

If I'm being honest, I think Rohl is on a hiding to nothing. If he doesn't hit the road running, Ibrox will be at it's most toxic, and all the current hatred towards Stewart and Thelwell will be manifested towards Rohl and the team.
