Bertrand Traore is a player I am told we are currently having a look at. RW and captain of Burkino Faso. Just been released by Sunderland

Fourlads, on his day he's a class act, but he's another that's bothered with too many injuries.
12 Jun 2026 13:43:47
Agreed, My Star. I'm not too enamoured with this and I have concerns re his injury record, but thought I would share what I was told.
12 Jun 2026 13:56:38
Fourlads, I do appreciate you letting us know, mate.
12 Jun 2026 14:02:15
No worries at all, mate. You are the best man to judge him re your support of Sunderland.
12 Jun 2026 14:55:33
I had heard we were sniffing around him Cirken as well as Neil, but didn't post due to thinking that surely we wouldn't be interested in all 3.
12 Jun 2026 15:00:02
If the wages are reasonable, then I have no problem with it, especially given he can play on both sides. Experienced player, and would be good to help the younger players, too.
12 Jun 2026 15:04:23
Pretty sure I saw Adama Traore was released & is now free. If so, he would be a cracking addition.
12 Jun 2026 15:05:18
Super, he'll not be much good sitting in the treatment room though.
12 Jun 2026 12:22:15
First time post.
Was chatting to a mate of wine who's related to McInnes.
He was saying a family member has told him it's all but agreed he's going to take over.
Personally i didn't want us to go that way, he knocked us back before and I've not forgave him for that.
Just letting yous know what i heard.

12 Jun 2026 12:38:47
Hope so.
12 Jun 2026 12:52:17
I think the narrative of knocked back is used unfairly on him. The club wanted to pick the back room staff first time around and it was a very, very different club. Walter Smith told the club to hire him and tried to aid the process, but club and McInnes were miles apart.
We'd of won plenty more trophies under him than we have in the last 15 years that's for sure.
12 Jun 2026 13:09:48
Not sure that was even the case, Albertz. The suggestion was McInnes asked Walter's advice and it was Smith who actually advised him not to take the job at that time due to the issues behind the scenes.
12 Jun 2026 13:15:14
Correct 78. π
12 Jun 2026 13:20:49
If he's not interested this time, with the backing he will have and the owners aiming to improve all areas of the club, then it will never be for him.
I personally hope we go to him and ask the question, and if he says no, then he shouldn't ever be under consideration again.
12 Jun 2026 13:49:26
For me, just now I think he is the manager we need. He knows the league and can see up a team.
12 Jun 2026 13:54:09
See everyone saying Smith advised him. Did Smith ever come out and confirm this? I don't think he did, but could be wrong.
12 Jun 2026 13:56:07
I think if McInnes was asked, he would knock us back again. He has a good thing going at Hearts. They have a good squad, cash to spend, a good scouting system, a new owner who is determined to bring success, etc. McInnes will have a job with them for years. If McInnes moved to Rangers, he would likely be unemployed in 6-12 months.
12 Jun 2026 14:08:10
Rohl, their squad is getting rebuilt this summer, same as ours and Celtic's. His squad is decimated with injuries and half are gone or going.
12 Jun 2026 15:49:00
If Del was offered the job, he 100% would take it.
12 Jun 2026 16:47:15
He would be a good appointment π¬π§
12 Jun 2026 11:50:36
Lee mcculloch was offered a position and respectfully knocked it back. I'm sure EHL and John are aware.

12 Jun 2026 12:44:07
Sorry, I know absolutely nothing about McCulloch being offered a position.
12 Jun 2026 12:50:30
Has not been offered any position. The conversation was had if he would leave his role at Brighton if a job was suitable at Rangers. The answer was no and will remain an ambassador.
12 Jun 2026 13:42:49
Not been funny, Albertz.
If Rangers did indeed enquire that if he would leave his current role if a suitable job at Rangers.
Isn't that offering a job?
Or, indeed, giving him a nudge and wink, an offer would be coming if he showed interest.
12 Jun 2026 13:43:18
Absolutely not true, Rab68. π We know Jig and his dad, John McCulloch, and that ain't the case, pal, 100%. π€
12 Jun 2026 14:02:41
I'm not sure, Stig. I guess, it's like us talking to agents and asking if clients fancy it before we explore bids etc. I'd hedge a bet on this happening across football a lot.
12 Jun 2026 15:21:43
Ehl, you ever met Billy Reid? Always thought he'd do a great job as a no2 for us.
12 Jun 2026 16:34:10
Pauly, met him a few times.
See his name mentioned often on here, but I'm not sure why, to be fair.
12 Jun 2026 16:37:20
Sorry, I know this question wasn't for me, Pauly. I coached at Clyde under Billy with one of the youth sides. He's a very good coach and a proper bluenose. Has bags of experience and I believe he would be a positive appointment.
12 Jun 2026 16:41:50
I'm told Rangers in past have had zero interest in McCulloch.
12 Jun 2026 18:44:47
Aye, Scotty, whenever we're on a out a Scottish coach who knows the league his name pops into my head.
You don't think he'd be suited to a role with us, Ehl?
12 Jun 2026 11:38:30
Can nigh on guarantee it's nonsense but saw on Twitter that Murat Ozen has apparently said were discussing behind the scenes for a return for Cerny π€·
It's a rumours page after all!

I can nigh on guarantee that there is some substance to this one - hence the sneaky question I asked a while ago about returning loanees.
12 Jun 2026 12:22:21
If a Turkish journalist told me the sky was blue I'd still look up
12 Jun 2026 13:33:33
Appreciate the reply, EHL - turns out a broken clock in the Turkish journalism space can be right once a day or in this case a lifetime!
12 Jun 2026 13:36:30
That would be awesome imo, an excellent player for a position we are weak in.
12 Jun 2026 13:41:21
No brainer to take Cerny if he is available. Understands the club and offers us something going forward. Maybe no sell on, but sometimes we need experience over development. Wouldn't mind big sums coming back too. Sometimes it's hard to not fall in love with a loan star. π
12 Jun 2026 13:50:10
It would be lovely to see him back. I have a soft spot for Sima too.
12 Jun 2026 14:00:15
We should be trying to bring Sima back here as well. Sima and Cerny were very good players for us.
12 Jun 2026 14:11:58
George, the Turkish media aren't actually anywhere near as bad as most make out - most of the stuff comes from deliberate leaks from within clubs, usually very early in the process with a view to getting a feel for viability of the deals.
12 Jun 2026 14:38:00
Fair play, mate, appreciate that wee insight. :)
Suppose I'm too stung with people like Ekrem on Twitter and what have you, the guy that broke the Cerny news seems fairly reputable, however, so that can only be encouraging!
12 Jun 2026 14:46:42
I'd sign Cerny.
12 Jun 2026 11:36:25
Any truth in the Cerny rumours?
Coming out of Turkey were possibly looking at bringing him back.

12 Jun 2026 12:33:47
Take him back in a heart beat. Gives us great numbers from wide position.
12 Jun 2026 12:57:08
In a heartbeat. Loved Cerny and his water gun prank. π
12 Jun 2026 13:06:45
100% would take Cerny back.
12 Jun 2026 13:46:07
I'd absolutely have Vaclav Cerny back at Rangers permanently. π His numbers in goals and assists are superb. π π¬π§
12 Jun 2026 11:34:48
Paul Nevin has been sounded out for a role within Gerrard's coaching team should he get the job from what I'm hearing.
Been assistant to Patrick Viera and Gareth Southgate previously as well as first team coach under Davie Moyes at West Ham.

I read that as Pat Nevin. ππ
12 Jun 2026 12:57:15
So did I.

So did I.
12 Jun 2026 11:08:59
Heard a rumour on site today.
Rangers hierarchy were very impressed with the Killie turnaround since McCann took over.
They were also impressed with the way he further developed Curtis.
They see him as a low cost appointment. Compared to a McInnes where Hearts would demand decent compensation.
Where they aren't sure about him, is he a big enough name to satisfy the fans?
And would he be willing to work under a "Gerrard type" - similar to the late great Walter Smith did under Souness. Before eventually taking the reins himself?

12 Jun 2026 12:01:32
Would welcome this.
12 Jun 2026 12:03:49
He's a crabbit torn faced wee π© and opinionated to boot, would kick some bahookie, is he ready though, that's the Q?
12 Jun 2026 12:04:49
McCann is loving life at Kilmarnock. I know a member of the board, and they are really invested in him.
He won't be going anywhere.
12 Jun 2026 12:07:36
Wouldn't be against that tbf, but would McCann willingly give up his Killie places where by all accounts he's done well to be second fiddle?
12 Jun 2026 12:24:14
Absolutely a big yes from me to wee Neil.
12 Jun 2026 12:47:00
I've mentioned it a few times, but when I worked with them at Rangers I was far more impressed by Dodds than I was with McCann.
That said, they do compliment each other very well.
12 Jun 2026 13:41:40
Bring Billy in as well, absolutely.
12 Jun 2026 14:02:14
McCann has a managerial role. Why would he take a step backwards to become an assistant? I can't see that happening.
